Connecting iphone to itunes on new laptop
Hi,
I got a new laptop for christmas as my old one died. My problem is that I can't seem to connect my iphone to itunes on my new laptop. It shows that the iphone is connected but wont let me add any music to it. How can I fix this??

How are you trying to add music to your iPhone?
Do you want to transfer music via the iTunes sync process, or manually manage music and video?
If the former, is sync music selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences?
If the latter, do you have manually manage music and video selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences?
Have you authorized your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes?

-When I first bought this phone and I synced it to itunes on my old laptop (and to my ipod touch), all numbers that I'd put in to the phone were wiped and everything was cleared. This is why I am scared that my music, photos and videos wil be wiped!
Thanks in advance for any help!The iPhone is not a storage device. Instead it is merely a mirror of what is on the library of the computer it is synced with.
There is no Apple supported way to get content off the device that was not purchased via iTunes.
To get iTunes purchased content:
In iTunes, log in with your iTunes account and authorize computer.
Connect the device.
Do not sync!!!!
Select File > Transfer Purchases.
To obtain other media on the device you will need to search google for programs that can extract the content. -
How do I connect my Iphone 3GS to my new laptop? Downloaded Itunes only to be told there is a problem finding my 'pairing' don't know what this is, any ideas?
You might want to take a look at Printopia....although you may find that you need to have the printer connected directly to your computer for this work.

My laptop was stolen and I need to be able to connect my iPhone4 to the new laptop and transfer content (photos, mp3's, apps etc.) to the new laptop. I'm afraid to try a sync in case it deletes all the content off the iPhone. Any suggestions?
You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

I restored my iPhone 3 g to its factory settings and I tryed to connect it to iTunes on my laptop and it said This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the installer to remove iTunes. Then install iTunes again. HELP!! PLEASE!! Because I cannot get on my iPhone!!

This usually means that a required component is missing. Start with completely uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components in the order specified in the article below. Once this is done, download and install iTunes.

I backup my iphone onto itunes on my laptop. Recently I got a new laptop, so that counts at two itunes locations.
Unfortunately this new laptop was faulty and had to be set up again from scratch.
Apple now says that's three itunes locations when in fact it's two.
How can I get this changed back to two locations?If by locations you mean "authorized computers" then one of your computers (apparently the new laptop) may be using multiple authorizations.

My iPhone broke on holiday and I didn't back up iCloud, is there anyway I can retrieve my photos? Also I tried connecting it to iTunes but my laptop won't pick it up at all! Please help!
I took it to a ohone shop today and they're going to try and fix the phone without altering the memory, but apparently that's quite hard to do with IPhones
That will void any support from Apple. If you take the device to an Apple store you would be able to get an out of warranty replacement. A third party shop may make things worse and end up costing you more. Apple does not sell parts so all the third party shop will be able to use are parts from damaged or stolen devices. If the third party shop cannot fix the device you will have to pay full price for a replacement phone rather than the discounted price from Apple. -

Details: I have an ipod touch. I think my dad accidentally deleted some of the software that is required to run itunes so now it won't open, or recognize the ipod when its connected to the computer. When I click on the itunes icon (which is still on my desktop) to try to open it, I get an error message that reads:
"Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run itunes. Please uninstall itunes and then install itunes again."
I would do this however I just got a new laptop and want to move all my programs including itunes onto it instead. If I try to just connect the ipod to the new laptop and download the newest version of itunes, I'm afraid it will delete my old songs already on the ipod. I know people have had this concern before but the answer is always to back up your songs first. How am I supposed to do this if the itunes is deleted/won't open on my old computer?
*Your help is so so appreciated*!!!What you really want is the files, not the music really, just the system files so that when you reinstall iTunes you can replace the system files with the ones you backed up, thus saving your settings from your previous installation. As for the music, after you reinstall, you can backup your music from your iPod before you sync it to the new iTunes installation, that way it insures you not to lose all your music. I deleted half my music by accident from in my iTunes Music hard drive that I have separately so as to be able to keep all my music in case of a computer crash, which we both know is a drawback of having a Windows-based PC. Where you want to go is first go to Edit then Preferences then Devices and make sure you have Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically checked, then you can rest assured that you won't lose the music already on the iPod. Then you go to File then Library then Back Up To Disc. This is of course after you have iTunes reinstalled. Just save the system folders with all the system settings from your documents/music/iTunes section. Then uninstall and reinstall. Then transfer the backed up system files back to that folder and overwrite the new files that were created.

IPhone stuck in recovery mode. screen stuck at "connect iPhone to iTunes"
my phone has been stuck in recovery mode for two days and will not restore. when i disconnect my phone from the laptop, the screen stays on the picture of the iTunes logo and the USB cable saying to connect iPhone to iTunes. And again, when i connect the iPhone to iTunes, the restore fails. if anyone knows how to make my screen go back to normal or successfullt restore my phone, it would be greatly appreciated.
i have same problem as your with my iphone 4S after update new firmware from itunes. iphone restart then stuck on recovery mode . i have try 3 different comp. read all the thread on apple, nothing gonna fix that . oh also change 2 usb cable, just dont know what else i can do.

I have an iphone 5. I have no idea of the ios version in it. Recently i broke my iphone screen and its showing up nothing. it was never synced to itunes or to any pc. When i tried to connect iphone to itunes in my pc it was asking for passcode which i had forgotten ages ago. Suggest me the possible ways to recover my iphone.
Since the screen doesn't work, it will be challenging to get it working, even thru iTunes. You will need to ask yourself if you want to invest more money in it or get a new one, especially since the contents will be lost since you don't know the passcode. Apple will gladly replace the screen for a cost that represents a significant portion of the price of a new. Once the screen is done, you may or may not be eligible for the free iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program.
Or, if you decide to salvage it and are strong of heart and firm of hand, you can replace the screen yourself for less. See here and note they carry kits with all needed tools and parts. -

Well the title says it all really.
I have to sync my iphone 4 with my new laptop as the old one broke. How do I do this without losing all my pictures, music, contacts & things purchased form the itunes store?
It seems really silly that everything gets wiped off the phone when using a different laptop. This problem must happen quite often as I am sure I am not the only person who has had a pc that has broken.
I hope you someone can help. All the stuff on my phone is important to me.

The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -
Anyone know if I can transfer my playlist from iphone to Itunes on my laptop.
I am not keen to sync my iphone to my new laptop in case it wipes out my playlist.
My Computer had crashed so I am unable to export a playlist.
I had backed up songs to icloud which are now on my laptop however without the original playlists folders?

I would turn off the automatic syncing so that way you can see what is on your iPhone. From there, you should be able to see what is on your iPhone and then can export out the playlists and then import them back to your library. I would also recommend backing up your iPhone before going through with this process. To export a playlist, have it highlighted then go to File > Library > Export Playlist…
