Connecting iPhone4 (iOS 7.1.1) with iTunes 10.6.3

Trying to connect and sync my iPhone4 with iTunes, it tells me I would need iTunes 11.1. or later. But this again requires Mac OSX 10.6.8. while my MacBook runs OSX 10.5.8.
Do I really have to buy a new OSX-Version for my Mac in order to sync my iPhone or is there an alternative way?

Provided you have an Intel Mac you should be able to install 10.6 reasonably easily - it's quite an improvement on 10.5.8, and it's not expensive at $19.99/£14.00:

This will get you to 10.6.3 and you should then download and apply the combo updater to being you to 10.6.8

When I connect the phone to the computer with iTunes running, iTunes says it can't connect to the device because it didn't get a valid response from the device. How can I get the system to recognize the phone, and let me rename it as my iPod, instead of my phone?
As an aside, the current installed operating system on this old iPhone is 4.2.1, but that wasn't one of the selectable options in the operating system list dropdown below. Don't know if that makes any difference.

This year, the government has canceled the daylight saving time , that's why happening this problem to me so I changed the time zone in iPhone from Cairo,Egypt (GMT+2 with daylight saving) to Harare,Zimbabwe (GMT+2 without daylight saving , no change in time from summer & winter) & now working good, no change in time after sync. , But it's very stupid thing from apple that they didn't add an option in time setting to enable or disable the daylight saving time like any other mobile.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. IPhone 4S (iOS 6) not syncing with iTunes (10.7) asking to restore

I have an iPhone 4S and a MBP running on 10.6.8 with iTunes 10.7. My iPhone will no longer sync, making it impossible to manage my music. If it weren't for my music, I wouldn't really care to sync it aside from just backing up my contacts etc.
The message I am getting is "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone. Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings."
I've searched online and tried many different things both on my computer and my iPhone such as reseting networks, changing the cellular data options, restarting my modem and restarting the wifi on my computer. None of it seems to work. Even if anything were to work temporarily until iTunes 11, I would love that, but I can't seem to find even a temporary fix. I am aware that lots of people have had or still do have this issue, and it's quite frustrating. Any help, suggestions, advice, is much appreciated.

Unfortunatley 5 GB is not necessarily a lot of space. What you should do is FIRST go into iCloud and choose what information you want turned on.
Settings >iCloud
Here you should see different Tabs that will let you select what you want to back up on your device. You have the option to back up the following data on your phone:
Mail
Contacts
Calendars
Reminders
Safari
Notes
Passbook
Photo Stream
Documents & Data
Find My iPhone
If you turn off some of these options you should free up some of your space.
Once you have backed up your device in iCloud, you can place your device in Recovery Mode in iTunes so it can be recognized.
To put phone in recovery mode: Hold down home button and power button at top of phone at the same time. Once you see the Apple on the device, CONTINUE to hold down the Home button. Plug your phone into iTunes. Do not let the Home button go until you see a message in iTunes stating that a device has been detected in recovery mode.

my ipad wasn't charging with the provided wall charger, I thought maybe I needed to update my iOS to 6.1.2. So I started the update via the settings/general on the ipad itself, at the same time I also started the updates to itunes on my computer (windows vista). The updates (to pc & iPad) are now finished and the ipad is displaying the itunes logo with a USB cable indicating I need to connect to the computer but it isn't connecting, I have followed all of the trouble shooting, and restarted both my device and my pc. Could the charger on the ipad (not the plug as I have tried different sync cords also) be messed up? Before this for the last month my ipad will only charge when it is turned totally off and only at a rate of about 5%/hour! its soooo so sooooo slow! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! I am stuck!

by the way when I say it wasnt charging with the provided charger I mean it wasn't charing. Not even showing "Not Charging" or anything, it just wouldn't do anything, it was like it wasnt plugged in at all.
Is there any way to stop or reverse the update I started? or a different way to connect to itunes rather than with usb, because obviously the plug part of the ipad is shot.

Ipone connection was lost to be reset with itunes

When I plug my IPhone 4S into my Mac, Itunes sees it and starts the sync, but always says connection to IPhone was lost and reset during backup. Whats up.

IOS 7 syncing email with iTunes 11.1 "turn off email on iPhone"?

Scenario:
iPhone 5
IOS 7
iTunes 11.1
I am trying to sync everything and all goes well until it gets to my emails (all previously set up accounts that did fine). Now it comes up and tells me "Cannot sync emails. Go to setting on iPhone and shut down email account". HUH? First, the only way I can see to shut down the account is to delete it. and Second, if I do 'shut it down', how can it syn it then?
They are imap accounts. And as I said well established on the phone on previous IOS.
As always, I am grateful for any assistance and suggestions.

Apparently this is happening to everyone with win 8.1. I have a 5s and i've tried everything and i mean everything and nothing works. Works just fine with all my win 7 machines. You can find people asking this same question all over the place. I have no idea if it's an apple issue or a win 8.1 issue but I sure wish those guys would talk to each other and test things out first.
Nothing works from wireless, usb, and bluetooth.

After upgrade to IOS 8.3 sync with iTunes doesn't work

After upgrade iPhone 6, iPad Air to IOS 8.3, the sync (over wifi, as well) to iTunes doesn't work anymore.
On iMAC iTunes, the last sync's hour and day appear different from what is recorded on mobile devices (iPhone and iPad); with IOS 8.2 and the previous iTunes' version the sync worked correctly: the dates are the same only for few seconds after syncronization, then the IOS devices show the syncronization's dates related to two weeks ago.

I am trying to add more songs to my iphone 4. when i add folder to my library and try to transfer it to the current playlist, it won't let me.

Is this the computer the device normally syncs with?
Is "Manually manage media" enabled?
iTunes is designed to synce media to the device. What is described above is not syncing.
To sync content, connect the device.
Select the device in the side bar.
Select the appropriate tab at the top for the type of content to manage.
Select the content in question desired to sync.
Sync.

ATV 2 IOS 5.0.2 with ITunes Match problems...

My ATV2 with IOS 5.0.2 has a problem with of ITunes match. The music aborts again and again. Up to the restart. Everything else runs perfectly. I put already the ATV new. But still the same problem.
In various forums I already read over the problem. There said the problem is because of iTunes match. What can i make? _but be of ITunes match genuine too expensive.

It seems like the problem was just solved. I had to go into my lockdown folder (see point number 6: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2529) and delete all the stuff in there.
The error message said: "Failed to start sync with iPhone (Name)".
It was a bit longer but that is the basic content.

IPAD 2 Wifi 16 GB useless after IOS 7.0.2 with iTunes 11.1.1

HELP. Nothing helped what we tried (2 days now). None of the tips on the internet. Our IPAD is useless and keeps going back to "configuratie"...

Configure set up WIFI. Tried holding the sleep/wake button and home at the same time and than Home alone. Saw the apple logo and saw the iTunes icon. Tried with two different usb cables to connect to iTunes, tried to update, tried to reinstal iTunes, to restore device,... nothing works and every time back tot same screens (Hello Configure or Apple logo cable and still unresponsive. A question a saw earlier i can subscribe: How can simply downloading an update do this to my iPad?! Someone told me that maybe the battery wasn't full enough and a fault might have occured? Also that maybe this could only be restored now with a backup from a Mac computer?

A few weeks ago, my iPhone ceased to sync with my computer. When I plug it into my computer, it charges, but does not appear in iTunes. I have searched the communities here and some folks suggest deleting and reinstalling iTunes, but my computer says OS X cannot do this. I updated all of my phone and iTunes software to the latest versions, but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions so that iTunes will recognize my iPhone again? It all worked fine from the time I bought this computer in March until roughly October.

Problems synching iPhone 4 iOS 6.0.1 with iTunes 11

I'm sure somebody else has this issue as it only started after I upgraded to iTunes 11.
I am not trying to synch over wifi (far too advanced, it asks for a cable) and I get only so far through the synching process and it falls over. Specifically it gets up to Step 3, successfully synchs bookmarks and mail accounts and then falls over when trying to transfer purchases with this error:
"An unknown error occurred (1150)."
I've tried turning off the phone, cleaning up my library, synching over wifi, synching manually - nothing appears to work.
Any tips gratefully appreciated.

No I don't have this issue, and I downloaded itunes 11 when it first came out. I've been able to sync my phone without any problems. I've actually erased my phone and restored from backup using itunes.
