Connecting iPod video to Blaupunkt car stereo

Blaupunkt sells an adapter to connect iPods to their car stereo. Part number: 7607540500. It is compatible with the factory (Blaupunkt sourced) car stereo of my Fiat Panda model year 2005. The car stereo 'sees' the iPod as a Blaupunkt CD changer. It works well with the previous iPod but absolutely no-one can tell me if will work with the current video iPod that I'd like to purchase.

I talked to Blaupunkt support in the states and they say that they are aware of the problem! Now what kind of an answer is that? I agree with you, Blaupunkt should get on this problem and fix it. Blaupunkt catalog actually states that the Ipod interface works with any Blaupunkt head unit with CDC control since 1998+. On the interface box it says 2001+. The simple fact is they should get there "stuff" together and fix it!

  • Connecting iPod Touch to bluetooth car stereo

I recently got the Sony MX-BT2700 for my car and am loving being able to play music off my touch wirelessly. My question though is if there is a easier way to connect the touch to the stereo. Right now every time I get in the car I have to go to settings>general>bluetooth and tell it to connect to my stereo even though it's already paired. Is there someway that the iPod can be set to automatically connect to a bluetooth device when one is available? My phone (not an iphone) is able to do this without touching anything as soon as I get in the car. Thanks for the help!

  • How do I connect my ipad to my car stereo without the ipad screen message 'Accessory connected'

How do I connect my ipad to a car stereo without the screen message showing, 'Accessory connected', which prevents me being able to select the music I want from ipad screen.

Read the stereos owners manual. My Pioneer deck has a setting to allow iPod control which works for the iPad as well.

  • Connecting Ipod Video to car stereo

    Hi,
I have just bought a Goodmans GCE 7207i card stereo which has the ability to connect you Ipod and play you music library through the car stereo.
However, on the box of the stereo, it says it is compatable with the Ipod min and 3rd and 4th generation ipods. But I have a 5th generation video Ipod?
I am assuming that it says this on the box as when the stereo was manufactured , the Ipod nano / Video was not released.
My question is, does anyone know if this stereo is likely to be compatable with my ipod video. I am assuming it will be as it has the same connecter and if it was compatable with the Ipod photo then it will probably be compatable with the Ipod video.
If anyone has had any experience with this then please help me as i am wondering whether to return the Stereo before it is installed.
    Thanks
    steve

Oh! Sorry, I don't. I'm expressing how it should work. If you plug the AV Component connection into the touch, plug the connectors into the car DVD and the USB into the car power it should work.
I would try the AV Component connection at home first and when it is working there move it to the car without worrying about the power and then add the power.
    make sense?
Sorry for giving you false hope.

  • Please HELP, "iTunes has stopped working" error after connecting iPod video

People please help me out!  I have a Razer Blade gaming laptop with Windows 8 64bit.
I have an iPhone 5, iPad 2 and an iPod video (80GB).  I had some weeks from not connecting the iPod to my computer, but this morning that I did so I can upload some new music to it, iTunes just crash, I get the "iTunes has stopped working" error message when I connect the iPod video.  I do not have this problem with either the iPhone 5 or the iPad 2, when I connect these, iTunes works fine, once I connect the iPod, then all goes down
Procedures that I already tried and that were unsuccessful to solve the problem:
    Uninstall Quicktime
    Uninstall iTunes and reinstall
    Reset the iPod (several times)
    Delete TEMP files on computer
    Restart the computer (several times)
Use a different cable and a different USB port
The iPod is working fine, if I plug it to my car stereo or if I use it with headphones it works great, no problems nor errors.  My computer also identify the iPod as a hard disk, no error messages from Windows, it is just the freakin' iTunes that freezes everytime that I plug the iPod
PLEASE HELP ME OUT, I've searched forums on this particular issue but with no luck.
    Thanks very much!

It is only when I attempt to add a song to my iPod once plugged in that I receive the error "Itunes has stopped working" and forces me to exit the program, without the song being successfully transferred.
Do you have the "Convert to 128 kbps AAC" preference enabled for syncing to the iPod, laur?
If so, it's quite plausible that you've got the iTunes 10.1.0.54 bug and we need to get you updated to 10.0.1.56 as per the following document:

  • Hooking your iPod mini to your car stereo

Hi. I was wondering if someone could tell me what is the best product to hook your iPod mini up to your car stereo. I have looked at some but I would like some opinions. I want a good product not something that will break right away. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

b Various Methods to Connect to a Car Stereo System, or Listen to Your iPod in the Vehicle
    b Best:
Direct connection via the dock connector or headphone jack of your iPod, to the mini-jack input (or AUX RCA input jacks) of your car stereo. Not many low/moderate-end cars have this feature yet, but it is becoming more popular. Some aftermarket auto stereo units may have this feature.
There are also some after-market, moderate to fairly expensive direct interfaces, that hook into your existing car stereo to provide a high-quality, direct connection. Most will also power/charge the iPod. Pretty slick, but can be pricey ($80-$300). If money is no object, a clean way to go. Not very portable from car to car – if at all.

    b Better:
Connect your iPod to a cassette adaptor and play your tunes through your car's cassette player. Some new cars no longer come with a cassette player, so it may not be an option. It will provide even better audio quality if you can run the audio feed out of the dock connector (see the SendStation link below). Can be portable between cars that have a cassette player and also be used in your home cassette system.
    b Good:
Attach an FM transmitter to your iPod and play the tunes through an unused FM station. Convenient, but wireless FM transmitter signals are susceptible to static and outside interference, and can vary in strength and quality depending on your location. Some noticeable degradation and distortion, depending on the quality of the transmitter, the sensitivity of your ears and the airwave congestion in your area. Highly portable between cars, and may be used in a home system. FM transmitters that need to be plugged into a DC auto jack may not work in a home environment (without some sort of adaptor).
    b Marginal:
Attach an external speaker system to the iPod and play it in the car. Workable, but not too good - unless you spring for a $300+ Bose (or similar) system. But why? Only if your vehicle has no Stereo system, perhaps.
    b Brave Techno-Geek:
This site gives some direction on adapting your own car stereo by yourself: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8/ . Risky, but it has been successful: Seanski, "silent track" #2, 11:59pm Jul 15, 2005 CDT
Whichever you choose, power the iPod through your car’s DC power -- either from a power adapter, or as part of the combined audio adaptor. Have a method to secure the iPod to the dash/console/etc. See the reviews for all the various accessories at the iLounge
You will also get better audio output if the dock connection plug is used, rather than the headphone jack. See this URL for a novel adaptor: https://www.sendstation.com/us/products/pd_lousb.html. Others types are also available via this site.
I have read positive and negative reviews of each method, and within method there are great variations in performance of different manufacture's systems – and peoples’ opinions of their performance. Some cassette adaptors/FM transmitters work poorly, some better.
FWIW: I have the iTrip Mini & the Newer Technology RoadTrip!+ FM transmitters, a Belkin cassette adaptor (used both with & w/out the PocketDock) and two vehicles with the BlitzSafe direct interface. Using the same song in the same car, I found that the FM transmitters worked, but not as good as the cassette adapter via the headphone jack. Using the PocketDock on the cassette adapter resulted in a significant audio quality improvement. As expected, the Blitzsafe direct connect was exceptionally better than everything else: less tinny, a more warmer/richer sound, and close to true CD quality.

  • Connections to Home radio and Car Stereo

Do they have an accesory that would let me listen to my ipod through my car stereo when im driving and my home stereo when i'm at home?...An all in one deal?

Not sure if I understand what you meant, but my iPhone does detect my home wifi. I re-input the password, but it still doesn't connect.  I verified the account and password with Comcast, my internet provider, and they confirmed the info is correct.

  • Ipod Video plays in car?

Hi, I'm thinking about having an aftermarket adapter installed in my car so I can plug my ipod directly in. Because the ipod can play videos too, is it possible to watch a video on the ipod AND hear it through the car stereo? I asked the auto stereo guys, but they're not sure. Also, if it does work, can I watch home videos on it too? Thanks for any help!

    Yes, its possible!!!
I have that setup in my car.
If it plays on ipod, be it music videos, movies, home movies it will play anywhere you set it up. As long as its in a format ipod recognizes (Mpeg4).
and remember to put TV OUT feature to ON when you watch it thru you in-car tv.
One more thing, you may notice that when you use a generic audio/video cable on your ipod, it does not work (TV screen is blank) so you might say that you have to buy the ORIGINAL a/v cable of Apple. DON'T!!!!
Here's the secret: dont plug the Yellow terminal(video) to the video-in of you TV. Instead, use the RED terminal to the Video-in and the yellow and white to the Left and Right audio channels. That will make it WORK!!
Almost bought an apple a/v cable because of this BUT looked over the net to find answers and I DID!! You can find these generic cable (mini plug to A/V RCA jacks)at any electronics shop or if you have a digital camara or camcorder chances are you already have this. It ONLY cost a few $$$, insted of the Apple a/v cable which is $20.
when buying aftermarket adapters (PIONEER or the like), don't buy the ones where you can control ipod directly on your head unit, that's only good for AUDIO. that's ok if you have the ipod that plays audio only, but if you have an ipod that plays pics and video you are better of just buying the A/V cable instead.
ALL THE FEATURES OF THE IPOD WORKS and Here's the kicker...IT"S CHEAPER TOO!!!
    hope this helps!!!

  • Docking Ipod Nano to usb car stereo

My wife purchased an Ipod nano (3rd generation) as a gift for me. I already have a generation 1 (only use it in car) and have no problem with it, this new one just WILL NOT WORK in the car, does anybody know why & how this can be resolved? NB - I connect it via the stereos built in USB socket.

Nano 3G only works with USB 1.1 and 2, the older ones used to work with USB 1.0 and that is probably the explanation for what you are seeing. Apple's compatibility table doesn't show that USB 1.1 works, but I know by experience, my PC has both.
Of course I don't know what kind of port your car stereo has, so I might be wrong.

  • Should I be able to listen to music from my iPod 5 on my car stereo?

I have a Pyle stereo in my car. I am having trouble listening to my iPod using the USB on the stereo. The Pyle support team says
It can't be done, that the USB is for mass storage devices. Isn't that what an iPod is? I am a little suspect of they're answer, especially after reading some posts. Can someone give me the scoop? Can I or can't I listen to my Ipod through the USB....PLEASE??

"that the USB is for mass storage devices. Isn't that what an iPod is? "
No.  It is not what an ipod touch is at all.
You can only listen to it via the USB if your car stereo supports it.  If it does not, then you cannot.
It sounds like your stereo does not support the ipod via USB

  • Connecting ipod video to mac and windows???

I have recently purchased an ipod video, i have two computers, one mac and one windows, the mac has my music on and the windows has ripped dvd's on which can be converted to ipod video compatible files. can i connect my ipod to both computers and add the files i wish from each one???
    Many Thanks
    IMAC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Yes.
There's two ways you can do this.
    1. Format the iPod using the iPod Updater on the Windows XP machine. This will make the iPod Windows-formatted, and it can be used on a Mac or a Windows machine.
The downside to this is that performance will suffer on your Mac. Transfers and mounting times will be slower and longer.
    2. Keep the iPod formatted for Mac. Since Windows cannot read an HFS+ volume natively, you'll install third-party software on the Windows machine (such as MacDrive) which will allow a Windows machine to read/write to a Mac formatted volume.
The downside to this option is cost and stability. MacDrive is not free, and who knows how Windows will behave in the long run.
Here's an article from Apple regarding using your ipod on multiple machines:

  • How I can connect my ipad with my car stereo

I have ipad mini and I want to connect it to my car stereo wireless . My stereo doesn't have Bluetooth. Thank you :)

Without bluetooth, then you can't connect it.

  • Connecting ipod nano 4G to home stereo

How do I connect my new 8GB iPod nano to my home stereo system in order to hear music that's on my nano over my home system? What kind of cable do I need. A local electronics store sold me a cable that's supposed to have worked but it only has one jack on each end: one for the ipod and one for the aux jack on the stereo receiver. But I aux on the stereo has 2 jacks, one red and one white. Please help

So you need a cable the 2 RCA connectors on that end and the stereo mini plug on the other for the iPod.

  • Hooking up my ipod to my jvc car stereo

I have hooked up my ipod to my deck and all i get from my deck if the word check that just flashes. My ipod starts to recharge the battery. When i disconnect the ipod my deck then says no ipod. I have hooked another ipod to my deck and it works fine. I have also reseted and reformatted my ipod and it still will not sync with my deck what do i need to do to fix this problem. also my ipod works fine other than not syncing with my deck.

Who installed the car stereo? If you don't know the installer I would take car and iPod into Car Tunes or other 'Reputable' car audio installer and have it set up in proper working order. It may mean getting another new stereo but there is only one way to do this and that is to get it done right.
Hard, but I've found no other way around this type of problem than to hand out the cash to get it fixed.

  • Trouble connecting ipod video to itunes

I recently had a problem with my ipod video (sad face, exclamation point blah blah blah) and exchanged it to get a brand new one at the apple store. I tried to connect my new ipod and here's what happened (and didn't happen):
    (1) the screen on the ipod just shows the regular menu and shows the battery charging, then after a while goes to the "battery charging" screen.
    (2) the ipod doesn't show up in itunes.
    (3) I tried running diagnostics and ipod connection status is red and failed
    (4) It doesn't show up in My Computer
    (5) I've unistalled and reinstalled itunes, I can't restore my ipod because it wont show up in itunes. When i put it into disk mode, it just shows the "ok to disconect" screen.
*IT WOULD BE GREAT IF ANYONE COULD HELP BECAUSE THIS HAS BECOME FRUSTRATING!!*

You might want to exchange this one for another.
