Connecting iTouch to Normal TV

Is there a cable that will allow me to connect my iTouch directly to the Television that will allow me to watch videos and play music that I have downloaded......

Hi,
Yes.
You need the one new(ish) cables from Apple, it fits into the dock connector and has a special chip in it that allows video output.

  • HT1363 Got iTunes 11.0.2 and iPod classic. ITunes no longer connects to iPod - wiped all contents and there is no way to re-connect - is this normal?

Got iTunes 11.0.2 - as far as I know the latest version. My iPod classic no longer connects - gone through all on the "help" still won't work. There is nowhere with the word "device" and the iPod has now been wiped clean. Is this normal with the new version?

You might want to try connecting to another computer with an older version of iTunes. If it connects, reformat it straight away just in case before adding your songs back in. Otherwise, you might want to seek for help at the official iTunes stores in your country. Chances are that the iPod might be corrupted, though iTunes being the problem can't be ruled out either.

  • PC getting Stop error when connecting iTouch

I have a 2nd generation iTouch that I sync'd up to my pc with no problem when I first got it about 2 weeks ago. Now everytime I connect it, I get the blue screen with a stop error. My daughter also has an iTouch (1st generation) and I can connect that one with no issues. Any ideas on what to do? I repaired iTunes but really didn't want to uninstall and it seems to be just my iTouch. I can connect it to my work laptop to charge with no issues too.

Well, the other USB port was working for a while. Now none work. When I plug my iTouch in, I get the Windows XP stop error and the blue screen of death. The USB port works for other things like my jump drive. I can plug my iTouch into my laptop and all is fine. I recently upgraded my iTouch to 3.0 but it still worked after doing that. Do you think my USB drivers need to be upgraded?

  • Itunes crash when connecting Itouch

Bought a new Itouch. Have latest Itunes installed (9.0.3.15) and have used my HP Compaq 8710w laptop for over a year with Ipod nano with no problems. Launch Itunes with no problems, connect new Itouch and get error message and Itunes shuts down. Itunes never shows new Itouch. itunes still works with old Ipod nano. Tried new itouch on three other computers with no problems. i have uninstalled itunes and reinstalled with no success. I have updated the Itouch with the latest firmware using a different computer, Version 3.1.3 (7E18), still no help on my HP Compaq 8710w computer. I have tried different cables with no success.

  • Connecting itouch to internet problem

I am trying to connect my itouch to the internet through my U-verse 2Wire wireless gateway. I have to use a WEP ket to access the internet using my computer. Anyone know how to set up the wep key on an itouch?

all you do is go to settings, then wi-fi, then turn wi-fi on,then you chose your network and type in the password. Hope this helps.

  • Connecting itouch to windows 2000

Can you connect the itouch to windows 2000?

None of the most recent iPods (the Touch, the Classic or the 3rd Generation Nano are compatible with Windows 2000, they all have Windows XP Service Pack 2 as a minimum requirement: iPod: Minimum System Requirements

  • Connecting itouch via Linksys wireless router

My itouch connects to my Linksys router but cannot log on to the internet ("server not found"}. My macbook connects fine and my itouch connects to other servers without problem. DNS, router # all are displayed on the DHCP panel and look fine. Any ideas??

I'll repeat some steps to try that I posted in another thread ... some of these you may have done, but take note of #4, that's what bit me and I don't see that posted anywhere else.
1- Turn on SSID broadcast if it is turned off. Your Touch needs to see the network in order to connect for the first time. You may be able to turn SSID broadcast off at the end, if you feel its necessary.
2- Check the encryption type you're using (WEP or WPA) and whatever security code is being used. Make a note of that.
3- Check to see if you have MAC Address filtering enabled. If so, disable it temporarily.
4- Check to see if your router is set to only issue a maximum number of IP addresses. It bugged me for a long time why I could randomly get on my network sometimes, but not always. Turned out that my router was issuing a max of 4 IP addresses and when my Touch couldn't connect, it was because the max had been reached!
5- Now see if your Touch sees your network ID. If so, select it and enter the passcode from step 2.
6- If you're able to get on your network, check to see that your router sees the MAC Address of your Touch. Make a note of that address and add it to the MAC Address filter if you're going to turn it back on (see step 3).
7- (optional) Change your home network to use Open DNS (http://www.opendns.com/), which has nothing to do with your Touch's ability to connect to your home network, but has some nice security and administrative features.

  • Connecting itouch to new mac

I've been searching for a document in support that describes what to do when changing itouch connection from PC to imac. I've moved my music over already to the imac but will I lose my contacts or can they be uploaded to the imac? What steps do I follow?

    No and Yes.

Connect the +iPod touch+ to the new iMac, click through the tabs Music, Movies, etc and especially the Info tab and set what you require.
    Then sync.

  • AE connects iTouch but not iMac.

Don't know what happened because it was working before. My iMac G5 works with an ethernet connection via a hub or directly to the router, but not with Airport Express. Over the past few days, I've tried everything I can think of repeatedly (e.g., resetting each unit, switching ethernet cables, disconnecting all overnight). I can get my G5, G3, Xbox, and AE to simultaneously access the internet via a cheap Dynex ethernet hub while my iTouch wirelessly connects to my ISP. I just can't get the G5 back to working wirelessly. It tells me when I am connected to AE and indicates a strong signal, but it fails to access the ISP. My network administrator says it is an Apple issue, not theirs, which appears to be a logical conclusion.

It's possible your ethernet port is damaged or it's dirty.  Try blowing into the port.  Use a flashlight to check the port for damage.  When was the last time you connected your iMac to the ethernet & it worked?
What you can try w/your ethernet connect to the iMac is to run the diagnostic test.
System Preferences>Network>Ethernet>Assist Me>Diagnostics.  Post the results of the test.

  • Connecting iTouch to PC (YES it Works) but no Setup Assistant at the first time

Last Friday, my father bought an iTouch in Greenhills, Manila. So when I connected my iTouch to the PC there was no Setup Assistant!!!!!!!! Note: I have iTouch

Does the iPod appear iunder Dives in iTunes?
    - If not try:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - If it does I would just try restoring the iPod via iTunes.  See the restoring topic of:

  • TS1363 iTunes does not start when I connect iTouch by USB.

This is on Windows 7.  It did connect on Vista before upgrade.  Sync occurs if I start iTunes manually.  iTouch does appear in both iTunes and Windows Explorer.  How fix?

Thanks to all who replied. It turns out that, as you suggested, for some reason the iTunes Helper applet wasn't there. Did a reinstall, and now all works fine. So now I know that if I never have this problem again, that will be my first stop.
As for the other suggested that were made, these are all great suggestions and these are steps I had already taken in troubleshooting the problem. I didn't mention that, so I am glad to have this documented if anyone one else does a search and is looking for an answer. By all means, be sure you do what the other folks said first, and if they don't work, then go for the iTunes Helper applet. That did it for me.

  • Connecting itouch to Orange Livebox

    Hi guys,
wondered if anyone else has experienced problems connecting your itouch to an Orange Livebox ? Tried contacting Orange, but useless support so wondered if anyone had expeirenced problems themselves ? My itouch locates the Livebox with no trouble, but when i input the password, (the secrutiy number in this case) the process fails.....
    Any help gratefully recevied!!
    Thanks in advance.

Hello, you need to pair the devices first, so you need to hold and press down the number 1 key on the back of the livebox for 10 seconds, you then have 10 mins to enter the WEP or WAP code into your ipod touch. Also ensure that you are entering all the letters in capitals as each time you press a letter on the ipod touch it reverts back to lower case so you have to everytime press the upwards arrow key to put it into capitals. Also remember that ther are no letter o's in the WEP or WAP, it is all 0's.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Connecting Itouch to Itunes

I am getting an error message when I try to load my new ITouch to my existing ITunes account - it says it is unable to sync because it can't located the "disc"
Any ideas how to fix this? I've downloaded ITunes 7.6 and restarted the computer. Also, if I delete ITunes from my system and reload it, will I lose all my music?
    Thanks

Thanks already tried it and it won't work still. My iPad does the same when I try to connect? The only thing I haven't tried yet is to remove and reinstall iTunes. For fear of loosing my library?
    Any suggestions?

  • (GENIUS) Connecting iTouch to Car Stereo Head Unit

    Ok
This one is for all of you wearing those black Genius T-Shirts
    I have an iTouch
I am connecting it to my Pioneer DEH-6600 car stereo head unit
I have connected it using the Pioneer CD-IB100 iPod Adapter
    Everything is working fine
Though I an only control my iTouch through the head unit controls
And would prefer to control it from the iTouch directly
Though when I start it up
The screen immediately locks to show iTouch Connected to an Accessory
When I push the menu button
    The main menu comes up
    But when I select Music
I goes back to the locked screen showing iTouch Connected to an Accessory
Is there anyway to bypass this so that I can control the iTouch directly rather than from the head unit

The method used to recognize the device has a shortcut to improve the connect time. So after the update to iOS4, the host device still thinks that it is connecting to the un-updated client device. The client device ie. Your iPhone with iOS4, must fool the host device ie. Your car stereo, into believing that is an entirely new device. This is done by connecting your iPhone to the stereo head USB port with the iPhone switched off completely. This is achieved by holding down the top power button on the iPhone until the red slide bar comes up and prompts yup to shut the iPhone down. Do this and then with the car stereo switched on, plug the iPhone into the USB socket and wait till the iPhone stars of it's own accord. If it does not start, press the top power button on the phone until it starts. This will force the stereo and iPhone to re-negotiate the handshake between the devices and get you back to where you will once again be happy.
