Connecting Labview to USB in Isochronous mode

hi
its metionned in the the document "Using NI-VISA to Control Your USB Device" that NI-VISA supports only control, bulk and interrupt pipes,
what about Isochronous?
how can i use NI-VISA to ceate a driver for a USB device Using Isochronus pipe?
is there a way to connect LABVIEW to an USB device without using NI-VISA?
the device has the ISP1583 from Philips as a USB controller
your help is much appreciated

  • Connecting Agilent DSO3062A Oscilloscope with LabVIEW using USB

I am trying to connect Agilent DSO3062A Oscilloscope with LabVIEW using USB but the device is not recognized by MAX. I have installed the drivers for scope and it works fine with the scope software. The problem is LabVIEW dosen't recognize the scope. Please tell me the procedure of setting up the scope with LabVIEW 8.2. I am using Windows XP.

    Hi there,
I think the issue is that the DSO3062A will not be recognized by LabView as a GPIB instrument through the USB connection. If you check out the 3000 series manual (http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/D3000-97016.pdf) you'll notice on page 8 it says you can't use the USB for programming, it can only be used with their scope software. You need the N2861 module installed on the back to connect via GPIB, and then a GPIB interface to your computer. I hope that helps.

  • N95 8Gb USB Data Transfer Mode not working

I have a bizarre problem with USB Data transfer.
    a) I upgraded to the new 15.x firmware with the correct HKCSL package - 0557980
    b) I connected PC #1 in data transfer mode with no issue and copied a bunch of installers onto the mass memory and went on to install them - to the PHONE memory.
    c) Later in the day, connected PC #2 and did the same with the last few applications.
    d) Next day tried to connect PC #1 and it didn't work
    e) Thought I must have an application using the MASS storage but checked and not so - all apps on Phone memory.
    f) Went to PC #2 and tried - Data transfer mode works - no problem.
    g) Tried PC #1 again, and still not working. I get all the right messages (Mass storage cannot be used at this time etc) on the handset, and I get the "safely remove hardware" option appearing on the PC - but I don't get a drive letter assigned in the Windows Explorer.
    h) I have tried it on PC #3 and this works as well - no problem.
    1. The working PC's both have PC Suite 2-Beta installed, while the problem PC has no PC suite at all.
    2. I have downloaded the Nokia-connectivity_cable_driver_rel_6_85_10_0 and it installs properly - giving all the expected wireless... options in Device Manager, but I still don't get a drive letter assigned with the basic data transfer mode on this problem PC #1
So the issue seems to be with a PC that has never seen any version of PC suite, but it worked straight after the firmware upgrade.
    All PC's are XP SP2.
Any suggestions on anything else to try ?
    Regards

    SOLVED by:
    - attaching N95, selecting USB Data Transfer Mode
    - Going to Device Manager
    - Selecting the USB Mass Storage Device for N95
    - "Uninstall"
    - Remove cable when N95 says its safe to
    - Re-attach cable
The PC then re-discovered and reloaded the drivers including the mass storage which then worked normally.
No idea what messed it up in the first place though.

  • Connecting 5800 via USB

Can someone direct me to the solution of how to connect my Nokia 5800 phone to my PC via USB? Now i can accept the fact that i may have missed vital instructions somewhere along the way, but when i have installed 2 x versions of the Nokia Suite 6 & 7 and attempted to connect ONLY to find that amongst the methods given, USB is not amongst the options, makes it beggars belief that with most devices connected to PC are USB. So why is it that to connect to the PC via this software the only viable option is hard wire in this case Cable Connection. So i wait and wait after intializing connection, only to be prompted that the cable connection could not establish connectivity to your phone. Correct me if i'm wrong but i can't connect via infrared or bluetooth only via USB. Has anyone come accross the same issue. According to some posts the software will encompass this? NOT

what version of pc suite do u crrently have installed on ur pc
also what OS are u using?
have u connected ur phone in pc suite mode?
if its just version 7, try going to ur control panel > add remove programs > select pc connectivity solution > repair (this is a rough guide since i dont know what ur os is)
if u have both 6 and 7 installed i would recommend unisntalling everything and downloading the most current version of pc suite from http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/nokia-pc-suite/download
bluetooth is also an option when connecting ur phone to the pc via pc suite but ur pc will need to be bluetooth enabled as well either inbuilt or external bluetooth dongle

  • FireWire vs USB at hibernate mode

Well I have the following task/issue. I have iMac and installed SamrtSleep 3rd party utility. It put my IMac in hibernate mode once system goes sleep. I have made for UPS setup so when power is off iMac will hibernate.
The problem is I have several external hard drives - FireWire and USB. Anytime I wakeup after hibernate the USB drives is unplugged and plugged again (software mode) and it breaks everything (if any) what was busy with this external drive and Not Properly Ejected warning appear. For example I have image file on external USB mounted before sleep. After wakeup it's unmounted like if I will just switch hard disk off while running.
However my FireWire works just fine the same way like internal hard drive. I have virtual machine  image file on FireWire disk. I open and run it. Than go to hibernate and wakeup. The system stays same place where it was before sleep. Noting was unmounted/unplugged. I was able to continue work on Mac OS as well as in same place in virtual machine.
First I was looking for help here and All Over The Google but all issues is around how to unmount all external drives before sleep. But I don't need to unmount them I need hibernate them together with all system.
Also when wakeup my virtual machine notice me where to plug many USB devices (it always ask when new one is connected). It means when Mac OS wakeup from hibernate it "break" all USB connections however nothing happens with FireWire.
My question so far if its possible to put USB in some mode when it will not "break" on wakeup? Or maybe any other solution to hibernate USB disks.

Ok nobody asnwer maybe it's not clear and too many text. I will ask more easy way.
Why Mac OS reconnecting all USB devices after deep sleep?

  • Firmware update: "The device is not connected to the USB por

Hi, I have a MuVo TX SE GB and I tried to load the new .22.03e firmware on it with a Windows XP SP2 PC. But when I connected the device, and started the firmware updater, it searched for a minute or so, and then the reset question appeared. I clicked OK and then I heard the USB sounds and the new hardware wizard appeared. I followed the wizard, but when it was installing the drivers, a message: "The device is not connected to the USB port" appeared, and the firmware updater closed. The hardware installed fine. But when I try to load the firmware again, the reset question doesn't appear, but I hear the USB sounds, and i get the same message again. I also tried connecting the player in recovery mode but that doesn't help. The player won't turn on. When I connect it, the player is listed in My computer, but I can't open it. What should I do, and how can I load new firmware properly?

  • USB Mass Storage Mode Missing :-(

I just upgraded? to the Samsung Galaxy S III today and have been very happy for the most part.  However...
I am EXTREMELY disappointed that the only options to transfer files to the phone/SD Card are to use the MTP and Photo protocols.  I always loved my Android phone...built off of open source software...and using open standards (things like USB Mass Storage).  It is incredibly useful to be able to plug my phone into almost any PC, running any OS, and be able to transfer files to and fro.
Where is the rest of the uproar?  When are we going to demand that one of the most useful features on our phone be put back.  It was already there...it was already working...and has been dropped for lame, limited use protocols...  Why?  Who is getting paid off?  Why?
Bring back USB Mass Storage Mode!!!!

It is always a good idea to do some research...  I have followed your suggestion and found that Google has two reasons for using MTP instead of USB Mass Storage.  They  are:
      1)  “A main reason for using MTP rather than for example the USB mass-storage device class (MSC) is that the latter operates at the granularity of a mass storage device block (usually in practice, a FAT block), rather than at the logical file level. In other words, the USB mass storage class is designed to give a host computer undifferentiated access to bulk mass storage, such as compact flash, rather than to a file system, which might be safely shared with the target device (except for specific files which the host might be modifying/accessing). In practice, therefore, when a USB host computer has mounted an MSC partition, it assumes absolute control of the storage, which then may not be safely modified by the device without risk of data corruption until the host computer has severed the connection.“  -sombody from Google
--My Response - "I am totally OK with the SD card not being safe to be mounted.  During the time I choose to be connected (only when transferring files)...I DO want the PC and not the phone to be in complete control of the SD card."
    2)  “MTP is a big improvement over USB mass storage — for devices with lots of internal memory, a manufacturer no longer needs to come up with some hard partition between the USB mass storage and internal storage. Instead, they are all in one partition, with MTP providing access to the directory of media files that would normally be available through USB mass storage. This means there is no longer a need for apps on SD card for such devices, because what used to be the ‘internal SD card’ is in the same partition as where applications are stored. The storage on your device can be used for either applications or media, depending on what you want to put on it. You aren’t stuck with how much space the manufacturer decided to leave for the two areas." -somebody else from Google
--My Response - "I am completely OK with the removable SD card being treated separately.  That is EXACTLY what I want.  I want to keep MY DATA separate and only on the removable SD card.  And all of the stuff that I don't care about...that can be easily reinstalled (apps and such) on the internal memory.  It is a good design.  The phone has enough internal memory that I don't have any trouble with space for Apps (so not a conern at all)."
--My Overall Response - "The loss of flexibility, portability, and usefullness does NOT come close to justifying removal of the USB Mass Storage protocol.  I am still VERY disappointed."
Where is the THUMBS DOWN... and INCORRECT ANSWER?

  • Connect labview to Zilog (Z8 encore)

    Hi,
I am trying to connect Labview to Zilog Z8 encore, to display the speed of a motor connected to my board (Zilog) and  also maybe change it. I was thinking about using USB 6009 DAQ, I would then connect the DAQ to labview and a H-bridge to Zilog. I don't know if this is possible.
    Thank you
    Lexia

What type of input/output does the Zilog have? The USB-6009 will output analog and digital signals and can be connected to a lot of things, but without knowing what you are trying to connect to it is hard to say what else might be needed. Can you describe what you have a little more.

  • Is it possible to connect an external USB 2.0 hard drive to a Thunderbolt Display?

    Hello,
Is it possible to connect an external USB 2.0 hard drive to a Thunderbolt Display and back up a MacBook Air to the external hard drive using Time Machine?
I intend to connect my MacBook Air to the Thunderbolt Display using a Thunderbolt cable.
I would also like to connect my printer via USB 2.0 to the Thunderbolt Display. Will this also work?
Effectively using the Thunderbolt Display as a USB hub or docking station.
    Regards,
    Ben

    Ok, thanks.
My 1 cable to ThunderBolt Display objective
MacBook Air -> (via 1 x Thunderbolt cable) -> Thunderbolt Display -> (via 1 x USB cable) -> USB 2.0 external hard drive
I would like to know if this configuration is possible and Time Machine will run correctly.
Your 2 cable suggestion (I think)
    MacBook Air -> (via 1 x Thunderbolt cable + 1 x USB cable) -> Thunderbolt Display + USB 2.0 external hard drive
This configuration requires 2 cables to disconnect/reconnect from my MacBook Air.

  • Is it possible to print from Windows 8.1 to a printer connected to the USB port on an Airport Express?

Is it possible to print from Windows 8.1 to a printer connected to the USB port on an Airport Express?
    a) HP printer with USB port only (no ethernet port) connected to Airport Express
    b) No issue printing from Macs
    Tests
    1) Installed Bonjour 2 - does not find printer (now uninstalled)
    2) Bonjour 3 is listed in programs but no way to access
    3) Using TCPIP address (and no Bonjour) gives 'Unsupported Personality' error when printing test page

p.s. why are all Windows 8.1 questios n the forum 'Locked' with no reply?

This is possible, but not with Bonjour or any other fixes.  It is just a printer set up based on the Port name of the Airport, 10.0.1.1.
I found the answer on YouTube, Title: Windows Printing For Apple AirPort Extreme without Bonjour Wireless wifi.

If you followed these instructions and you were unable to enter recovery mode, I'm still leaning toward a hardware problem.  Also, since you have IOS-7, read this.  It might help.

  • Can I use a USB hub to connect to multiple USB ports from one GPIB-USB-HS?

I have one instrument which has a GPIB-USB-HS connected and the USB cable is connected to a USB hub. Can I have multiple PCs to connect using USB hub at their respective USB ports? If so, how many PCs can I connect using the USB cable?
I have downloaded the latest NI-VISA from the website.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You would first need a hub that allows you to switch between multiple pc's and then only one pc at a time would be connected and in control.
When you buy this special type of hub, one of the specs is how many pc connections it has.
