Connecting Laptop for Wireless Printing

How do I find the name or url of my hp color laserjet cp2025 printer on my wireless home network?  I want to connect my Sony Vaio running Windows XP for wireless printing, but I can't identify the printer correctly to the laptop.

It appears this is a commercial grade printer.  It would be best to post in the commercial forums.

  • Can not connect All in one 209b to new router for wireless printing....

Have an HP laptop and All in one priner 209b.  All was working fine, wired and wireless printing.  Then we had to upgrade our ATT Uverse router.  Everything works...even wireless laptop and printer when connected to laptop.  However, can't get printer to printer wireless since it has the old router info.  I used the disk but when it asks to you to pick the printer, I choose the printer but it says printer now found ??? what ???? and this is with the cable connected.  I do not have the wizard on the touch screen but I did reset to factory settings hoping it would load new router info but it does not.  How do you manually enter router into for wireless printing.  Is it best to delete the printer and reinstall as new...wired and then wireless ???
I am about to call an outsite company and pay the outrageous charge as the help on HP is not working.  Thanks

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer "Ready" for wireless printing, but gives "error -- printing" message

This P1102w printer was configured for wireless printing from two computers (WinXP and Win7), both with a network sharing designation, and all functions worked perfectly:
Printing from the WinXP computer directly, and from a networked Win2K computer as a guest.
Printing from the Win7 computer directly, and from a networked Win2K computer as a guest.
Windows Printer Test Pages were printed from both installed computers, showing correct computer names, the printer name, Port names (IP addresses), Data format (IMF), Driver information, etc.
Several days later (after new boots), the WinXP computer showed printer status as being "Ready", along with the correct printer "Type" (HP LaserJet Professional P1102w), "Where" (IP address), and "Comment" (network printing).  When a print job was submitted from Microsoft Word, the control-panel printer window first showed the message "printing", and then the message "error -- printing".  Nothing was printed.  The same results occurred when a print job was sent to the WinXP computer from the networked Win2K computer.  HP’s troubleshooting routine did not identify the error, its cause, or what can be done about it.
Successful printing continued, as before, from the Win7 computer directly, and from the networked Win2K computer to the Win7 computer as a guest.
The printer’s blue “i” network indicator lamp is lit, and all three computers continue to communicate through the hub to each other and to the Internet.
HP’s printer installation program was executed on the WinXP computer, using the “fix” option, but nothing changed.  The installation program was executed again on the WinXP computer, using the “new install” option (without removing the existing P1102w installation); the “browse” function saw the network, but no printers were found, and the installation could not be completed.
This is very perplexing.  Any suggestions?
PS:  The same problem occurred once before, and it was fixed by resetting factory defaults on the printer, hard wiring the printer to the WinXP computer through a USB cable, re-installing the printer’s wireless settings from HP’s installation disk, and repeating all of the networking and sharing setups on all three computers.  This is a lot of work that is not worth repeating, because the successful results have not been permanent.

    To:  Neonskeleton,
Thanks for your response -- especially because you are an HP employee!
My Win2k machine does not use HP software, nor communicate to the HP printer.  (HP did not write a Win2k driver for the P1102w -- and evidently no one else has done this, either.)  My WinXP and Win7 machines use their HP drivers to send print jobs to the P1102w wirelessly, and both machines have the P1102w set up as a shared printer.  Then, when I connect to those machines as a "guest" and submit a print job to those machines, those machines receive the print job and then communicate with the printer using the proper installed printer drivers.
Everything worked great with this configuration, until suddenly the printer was no longer responsive to ANY jobs coming from the WinXP machine, even though there was a "printer ready" indication on the WinXP machine, and even though the printer responded perfectly to print jobs coming from the Win7 machine.
When I tried to "fix" the WinXP setup by running HP's setup program on CD, nothing changed.  Then, when I tried to reinstall the WinXP setup for wireless printing, the program insisted that I reset THE PRINTER'S factory defaults and proceed using a USB cable -- even though I wanted to simply ADD the computer for wireless communication to an existing networked printer!  I would conclude that something screwed up the printer's inner settings (maybe an unsolicited and invisible HP update sent to my printer from the Internet?).
As I mentioned in my original post, I went through this process once before, reinstalled everything on all machines, and all was well.  Until THE SAME non-recognition problem surfaced again!
I do not want to spend any more time on this.  I went to Staples and bought a second P1102w printer (it is a nice little machine that uses a xerographic cartridge, rather than costly inkjet cartridges that frequently plug up).  I'll use a USB cable for the connection, rather than the installed wireless feature, and set up the P1102w as a shared printer.  I expect that all of my other computers will be able to link as a "guest" through the wireless hub and be able to print.
    Thanks again.

  • Help setting up a Laserjet P1102w for wireless printing on a Mac

I'm trying to setup a Laserjet P1102w on my Mac for wireless printing, but it's not working.  It will print fine using USB, but all the documentation for wireless setup is for Windows, not Mac.  if I connect the printer via USB to my Mac, how will it get an IP address from my wireless network?  Any help appreciated.

    Hi Staxofjoy,
Based on the information you provided, and comparing to another post regarding this issue (link below) - It sounds like you are running 10.7 (Lion).
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/HP-Laserjet-P1102w-driver-for-Macbook-OS-X-Li...
Please go to the linked thread above, and look for the post by mikel1004 - he outlined the steps for connecting Adhoc to the printer very clearly.
Summary of what you will need to to:
    1. Reset Printer to Defaults
    2. Connect to printer via Adhoc from your Mac (This will disconnect you from your home wireless network)
    3. Access HTML Config, and configure the printer's wireless settings manually from there.
    4. Reconnect the Mac to the Home Network
    5. Add the printer to the print queue.
    Hope this helps

  • I have a hp deskjet 3050 all-in-one printer how can i setup for wireless printing my os is windows7.

how do i setup my hp deskjet 3050 all-in-one printer for wireless printing my operating system is windows7

Unplug the USB cable.  Now go to Start > All Programs > Hewlett-Packard > Deskjet 3050 > Add a Device.  Run the program and choose Wireless as the installation type.
Follow the directions.  It will ask you to connect a USB cable temporarily.  Do not connect until it asks and remove it when it tells you.
Finally, when you are done, go to Control Panel > Devices & Printers and delete the USB instance of the printer so you don't get confused when printing.

  • How do I set up my HP psc2175xi all in one printer for wireless printing or network printing?

How do I set up my HP psc2175xi all in one printer for wireless printing or network printing?
I am changing the set up of my home computer to add another computer.
I would like to go wireless from my computers to the hub and wired from the hub to my
printer. I do not think this printer can do that since it does not have the ports to connect to a router hub, I think.
I am rather new to this way of setting up, so any help would be nice.

You could get a wireless router that supports USB printers, but these only support printing, not scanning.  You could just go buy a new wireless printer since your printer is pretty old, anyway.

  • Password for wireless printing

I use this printer in my office and it is set up wirelessly, is there a way I can put a password on it so that others in the office can't access it and print on it from their computers?

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @jennypooh624
Unfortunately, if the printer is connected to the network, others that are also connected to the same network will be able to connect to the wireless printer. If you do not wish to have others use the printer, your best option would be connecting it to your computer via USB cable, and removing the printer from the network.
    I hope that helps you!

  • Configure dj 2540 printer for wireless print thru samsung grand (without router)

how to configure  dj 2540 printer for wireless print thru samsung glaxy grand mobile (without router)

    Hi patede,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I see that you would like to learn how to set up your Deskjet 2540 printer to be able to print wirelessly from your Android mobile device when you don’t have a router.
I have included the document titled Printing from an Apple or Android Mobile Device with HP Wireless Direct.  The document will walk you through setting up the printer and  how to print from your Android mobile device.  Please note that when you are connected to the printer’s network you will not have access to the internet.

  • Can I use an old UFO Extreme for wireless printing?

Greetings, I have a new airport extreme base station managing my wireless network, but I am still printing wirelessly from a Macbook Pro by sharing a printer with wired a G4 desktop. (my 'main' BS is in the basement, G4 and printer on the 3rd floor, connected to the BS via ethernet). I have an older UFO style base station gathering dust that I'd like to use for wireless printing by having it sit next to the printer and connect to it via usb, join my existing network wirelessly, and, well that's it. Essentially I want it to be an airport express, so I can print wirelessly without the G4. Is this an easy/possible setup? What settings will I have to change on my 'main' airport BS as well as the UFO? Any guidance you can give me I'd very much appreciate. Many thanks in advance, and sorry for what I suspect is a dumb question.

Badlyva, Welcome to the discussion area!
The AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) can not join a wireless network like the AirPort Express (AX) can. But you could configure your new AEBS to act as a WDS main base station and the old AEBS to act as a WDS remote base station. The bad part is that you would need to use 802.11g and the WDS link would cut your available wireless bandwidth in half of that.

  • Using a Airport Express Base Station for wireless printing.

Using a Airport Express Base Station for wireless printing. Got a new DSL router yesterday. Our old one we did not have password protected. The new one is. I can't figure out how to get the base station to connect with the new router.

thanks for the reply,   I couldn't connect with the base station.  The solution (thank you apple genius bar) was to do a soft rest of the unit which allowed and ethernet connectiont to be established.  Took the genius bar gy about ten min (and 2 attempts) to get the base station reconfigured.  Got home and it worked like a charm.  Would have never known what he knew.  Thank you genius bar.  Thank you for taking time to respond.

I hope Apple see fit to broaden this list, because, having thrown away several of those brands in my life, I now have a network compatble BROTHER printer that's awesome,
"There's an app for that," ie the BROTHER, but you can only print pictures and soforth.

  • Color LaserJet 2605dn for wireless printing, it keeps printing the first page over & over

When I use my Color LaserJet 2605dn for wireless printing, it keeps printing the first page over & over again.  I have to cancel print job on the printer in order to stop it.   It works properly on the computer that is directly wired to it, but won't on any other computer that I try to print from.   I have had this problem for some time, but now have certain thing that I must print from this printer & can't do it wirelessly.  It doesn't seem to be my network, because I can print from all of the other computers onto other wireless printers I have in the office.
    Any advice would be appreciated!
