About 1 year ago I helped to set up Firefox on my mother's computer. It worked fine until a couple of days ago. Now it no longer connects to the internet. The system is Windows XP, service pack 3. Internet Exporer does connect to the Internet on this computer. Also, I have another computer with Firefox and it works with no problem wirelessly. We tried removing Firefox and then reloading it and that did not help. We get no error messages. The internet and Firefox simply don't seem to see each other.
Sounds like a Firewall problem, seems to affect
Firefox more than other browsers.

If you've forgotten the passcode to unlock your iPad then there are instructions on this page for how to reset the iPad (your iPad doesn't need to be connected to the internet) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
If your computer's iTunes isnt recognising the iPad when you connect it then have you got a recent version of iTunes installed on your computer ? There are also troubleshooting pages for a device not showing in iTunes on these pages :

Connecting to a database from another computer...
hi guys!
i just wonder if there is a simple way to connect to my database from another computer?
do you have to change something in this method?
private static Connection getConnection() { Connection con = null; try { Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"); String url = "jdbc:mysql://localhost/Movies"; String user = "root"; String pw = "x"; con = DriverManager.getConnection(url, user, pw); System.out.println("****Connected****"); } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) { System.out.println(e.getMessage()); System.out.println("1"); System.exit(0); } catch (SQLException e) { System.out.println(e.getMessage()); System.out.println("2"); System.exit(0); } return con; }
thanks! :)

i connected my apple ID to another computer, downloaded all purchased music and now all of my library is grey. whats wrong?
If you are getting a message that the old email account is being used then that might mean that you have created a new account and not replaced the email address on the old account - try seeing if you can get the password reset for the old account/email : http://iforgot.apple.com

If i connect my iphone 5 to another computer, wil i lose all my music?
Hi
I have a lot of music on my iphone 5, and i was wondering if i connect my iphone to another computer, wil i lose all my music? My computer doesn't work and i have all my music saved in the computer and in itunes on my own computer, but i have the same music om my phone. If i conect my phone to another computer, wil i lose all my music?
Thanks
AmanpreetYou will not lose the music unless you try and sync the phone to this other computer. If you connect to the other computer and attempt a sync, and you have music selected to sync, then you will get a warning that the iPhone is synced to another library and will delete music, and if you continue, that is exactly what will happen.
It depends on why you want to connect to another computer and what you want to do. -
When I open itunes on my computer which has had my lists for a long time I get a message that says the itunes is not connected to the internet which is it,
I can't therefore sync songs to my iphone-what do I need to do? -thanks for helpThe new iTunes has a somewhat different look from the previous version. You can get the old look back if you prefer it by doing View > Show Sidebar in iTunes. Or you can adapt to the new look.

Problem connect mac to internet with pc w/windows media center os
I share a wireless DSL connection with my roommate. Everything was working fine for a long time until she bought a Sony PC with Windows Media Center OS on it. Every time she connects to the internet, she doesn't think it works very well for her. But, if she leaves the house (and therefore is not using her computer online) I can reset the DSL modem and the wireless router and then my internet connection from my iBook works like a lovely breeze. Then she comes home, connects her computer and the internet doesn't work for either of us. She insists it is not "her computer" and doesn't believe that I could be receiving such a seamless connection when she's not around. Does anyone know (1) if there are issues with Windows Media Center OS that would cause this problem and (2) What I can do to fix the situation?
Actually, it sounds like her computer might have a Static IP set, which tries to grab your IP... you might cure it by changing your setup to "Using DHCP with Manual Address" and using a couple numbers higher than what it says when it does work.

If anyone has experienced this issue and has a way to solve this problem I would greatle appreciate the help.
Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.

Connecting to wireless network *and* another computer at the same time?
Hi,
I will be getting a new macbook soon and have an old powerbook with airport. I am wondering if it is possible to connect to my old powerbook via airport, while still being connected to a third-party wireless internet connection (from the macbook). The crucial point is that I cannot connect both computers to the wireless network, because subscription is based on the computer's hardware address and I don't want to pay for 2 computers (I don't need to have internet access on the old computer, just a connection between the two computers). Anyone knows?
Thanks! What you are referring to is known as "Internet Sharing" for Macs, but it's typically restricted to sharing the Internet connection from one port (either AirPort or Ethernet) to the OTHER port...not AirPort-to-AirPort or Ethernet-to-Ethernet.

Connecting mac to internet with e60?
Can I establish internet connection on my mac with the e60 via gprs as I can with my pc?
tks / GokceYes, I imagine the process is the same as getting online via an E61 or E70. I talked about this in an earlier post.
There was a first step to my post which I'm not allowed to talk about but may be essential. Google for "E70 iSync."

I have two MacBook Pros on my local wi-fi network. I usually have these connected to each other over my wi-fi network. Normally, I only connect to my old computer (MacBookPro) from the new computer (MacBookPro2), so I can access files on my old computer that are typically not on my new computer. I use the same admin username (John Doe) and password on each computer. Currently, I have Mavericks (10.9.5) on my old computer and Yosemite (10.10) on the new MacBook Pro. All
I am now getting a recurrent request to connect to old computer even when I am already connected! When this request is being made, I am asked to connect to a username (johndoe instead of John Doe). The exact alert:
Enter your name and password for the server "MacBook Pro".
connect as << button is pressed for Registered User >>
Name: johndoe
Password: _________
<< Cancel button >> << Connect button >>
When I enter correct user name (John Doe or johndoe) and password for my account on Mavericks computer, the connection fails (whether I connected to Mavericks computer or not), and I get the following:
There was a problem connecting to the server "MacBookPro". The share does not exist on the server. Please check the share name and try again.
If I change to the proper share name John Doe and use the correct password, I still am not connected and I get the same failure message and am asked to use the correct share name again. If I cancel message, the connection message goes away for a while whether I am actually connected to old computer or not. It will then come back on the workspace I am currently using on my new macbook. When I am downloading files using terminal, the connect request comes up constantly if I continue canceling the message which is really irritating. How do I get rid of this constantly recurring request to connect???It means you must be connected to your computer via Wi-Fi (or cable).
Or wait for iOS 5 -
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.Open your firewall program. First check the settings. Make sure that the
program is set to tell you if a new program wants access to the web. Then
go to the list of programs the firewall has. Make sure that all the programs
you want to access the web are set to '''ALLOW'''. If it is set to '''AUTO''', the
firewall may not allow access. -
Connect mac to internet via wireless airport
I have AT&T wireless, using NetGear Modem. My Mac Book drops a wireless connection when I am 2 feet away from the modem. Why? I need to be able to move from room to room and this is so frustrating.
For your WEP encryption, are you using a passphrase
or a hex key on the Linksys? If using a passphrase,
Macs have a "hard" time with these. If you prefer
WEP, I suggest that you use a 128-bit Hex key
instead. Better yet, switch to WPA.
I think that it is a hex key. I do have a password to access the wireless connection. If I switch to WPA, should I switich to WPA-personal, ot does it really matter which WPA it is? Thanks
