Connecting Motorola Moto G

When I connect my Motorola Moto G, nothing happens. I looked at this page: http://blog.tausys.de/2014/01/31/linux- … oto-g-mtp/ and copied the udev rule (but to /etc instead of /lib) and ok, the libmtp entry shows up in /dev but what do I do then? Maybe there's an easier way to transfer files between my Arch laptop and my phone?

I would not touch mtp, in KDE and Arch it often stops with error. Try AirDroid. I think it is much better than trying to connect smartphone to a computer using "computer" tools like mtp, kio-mtp and so on.

  • Motorola Moto X with a MacBook Air?

Has anyone encountered any conflicts synching/using the new Motorola Moto X with a MacBook Air?

You need to close your macbook in order to place it into Arc, so it needs to go to sleep.
Official party line is that after it falls asleep , you should simply wake it up using keyboard:

  • Connecting Motorola PVR to EyeTV via Firewire

I didn't know where to post this, and thought that this was the most appropriate place. I am trying to connect my Motorola Converter Model DCT6200/1000 PVR to my EyeTV on my Mac OS X Snow Leopard Minimac. As of yet, I haven't been able to get anywhere with this. I have bought a Firewire cable and have plugged them in together, but am now lost. Could someone enlighten me on how to do this?

    Hi Josh,
If all you want to do is temporarily transfer data quickly from one Mac to another then FireWire Target Disk mode would be the way to go:
How to use FireWire target disk mode
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
If you want to create an ip over firewire network, the following will guide you:
    Using IP over FireWire
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=152307
However, you should be aware that some devices may not work:
Mac OS X 10.3 and later: IP over FireWire may prevent using other FireWire devices
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300742
The best option would be to create a normal network using an ethernet cable.

  • Connecting Motorola E815 to iSync

I have just bought a E815 and was able to set it up to use my Macbook's Bluetooth capabilities (though Bluetooth Setup), however when I try to isync it, it tells me connection to the phone failed. Whyy!!! So I bought a motorola chord (AAKN4011A), after learning that Verizon disables certain bluetooth capabilities, and yet success is not mine. I am still unable to connect my e815 to isync. Please!!! If there is a driver or pluggin or some way a novice can sync up without heavy hacking, please do tell. Myself and many, many others it seems will be very greatful.
    macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I have successfully used iSync in the past. Today I tried to sync and it would not complete the process. I disabled the option to update calendars and it worked fine. It's a little annoying to not be able to transfer calendar info but I guess that numbers and e-mail address are really more important. If anybody has any other suggestions I would appreciate it.
    Thx,

  • Connecting Motorola to iMac

  • Connecting Motorola SB6121 Cable Modem and AirPort Extreme

I moved into a new house a couple of days ago so of course the first thing that I needed to do was get the home wireless up and running. My ISP is through Comcast. I purchased my own cable modem (Motorola SB6121) instead of renting and used my own AirPort Extreme as the wireless router.
First, if you're purchasing your own cable modem, you will need to contact your ISP and provide them with the HFC MAC ID on the cable modem. Once you've gone through the motions, you will be able to connect your Mac (in my case Macbook) directly to the modem via ethernet cable and access the internet.
    Issue:
When I connected the SB6121 to the AE, I could connect wirelessly to the AE, but I did not have access to the internet. So, basically the SB6121 and the AE were not talking to each other despite being physically connected via ethernet cable.
    Solution:
After days of searching for online answers and forums (and trying different solutions) I was able to successfully get everything up and running. Make sure that you have 2 ethernet cables available.
    Here are the steps.
I restored my AE to factory settings just to keep everything simple. Here are instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3728 Once you've restored your AE, make sure that both the AE and the cable modem are unplugged from their power sources.
Plug in the power to the SB6121.
Connect your SB6121 directly to your laptop via Ethernet cable. Test to ensure that you have internet accessibility by going to any website.
Remove the ethernet cable from your laptop and plug it into the "internet in" jack in the back of the AE.
    Power up the AE.
Connect your laptop to the back of the AE using ethernet cable #2.
Launch a browser. You should now be able to successfully connect to any website.
Assuming that you reset your AE to factory settings, it should just be broadcasting the generic "Airport Extreme" SSID. Disconnect the ethernet cable and connect using wireless to the SSID. Launch a browser and you should be able to connect to the internet.
You can now use the AirPort Utility to configure the AirPort settings.
I assume that this solution would work with any of the base stations.

I was having the exact same issue tonight.  Just purchased the AE Model A1408 and haven't been able to maintain an internet connection on my iMac whenever I tried hooking it up via the Airport Utility application.  So after I had the SB6121 connected to the AE and the AE connected to my PC with no luck, I then went to the Network icon in System Preferences.  Clicked on "Assist me...".  Then clicked on "Diagnostics..." and followed the directions which basically had me first power down the SB6121 modem and power it back up.  Then I powered down the AE router and powered it back up.  At that point I was now getting an internet connection.  I then took my ipad 2 and went to the Wi-Fi settings and noticed it was asking me to setup a network through my AE.  I selected that and went through the simple steps to set up the network and password and now it all works.  I am a novice so don't ask me why but I now get a green solid light on my AE.  I can connect other devices wirelessly. I can still access the internet on my iMac.  For whatever reason, using the Airport Utility on the iMac doesn't work in my case and using my ipad to set up the wireless network did the job.

  • Want to connect Motorola Razr to Equium A100

    Hello Robert
First of all you must be sure if your notebook has BT or not. Every notebook with BT has a BT label at the bottom site. Check it at first. Later we can continue discussion how to connect your mobile phone with Equium A100.

  • Connect motorola 3360 dsl to time capsule

I'm trying to get my time capsule to serve as it's intended as a router.  It has worked successfully as a router with a different dsl for several years.  When I tried to connect a Motorola 336 to the time capsule the following pane comes up on my screen.  "another device on the network is using your computer's IP address.  Try connecting again later. If you continue to have problems, change the IP address of this computer or the IP address of the other device.  Contact the network administrator if you need more information."
I can't change the MacBook Pro's IP address.  What other device is the pane referring to?  The time capsule or the 3360.  How do I change the IP address on either of those?

The Motorola 3360 was designed primarily to connect to a single computer.
It can work with a router, but AT&T specifies that the modem needs to be configured in Bridge Mode when it is used with non-AT&T routers.

  • Problem connecting Motorola MC55 Handheld-Help!

    Hi Gang,
I have a pre-gigabit AirPort Extreme with only one minor issue. My wife's Motorola MC55 handheld computer/barcode scanner will not work when plugged into the AEBS. This device transmits and receives data from a data center over the Internet or telephone. The latter works fine. When I connect the MC55 to my AEBS the "test" screen says it is connected, but when I hit the xmit button, it sits for a long time then gives me a communications error message.
This device is like a gaming machine in that you simply plug it in and it works. I tried it at two friends' homes and it worked find. One is a Motorola router/modem combo and the other a FiOS setup with an ActionTec router.
It would seem that a default host could be set up but the MC55 is locked so I don't know what IP to key into the AEBS software. I've gone through every setting in the software and no luck. The MC55 will not communicate over Ethernet/LAN/Internet.
A level 3 tech from TWC tried to help but was not familiar enough with the AEBS to really get anywhere.
    Ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    I forgot to mention.
TWC says that since the device connects to the Internet fine when connected DIRECTLY to the cable modem, the trouble is not theirs.
AppleCare says that since the computers in my house connect to the Internet just fine, then the MC55 is the problem.
The company that buys the MC55s says that it should work and I should look more closely at my router, AEBS.
So maybe this is very esoteric. My local network is running on 192.168.xx.xx and I am using OpenDNS. Maybe these setting don't work with the MC55. I've surely changed everything else in trying to fix this. I even bought a Netgear 3500 and tried to set it up to see if it would work. WHAT A POS! I could not even get it to recognize the Internet. Back it goes to BB.

  • Airport Extreme & Internet Connectivity - Motorola SB6120/ Comcast Cable

I recently (June 14th, 2010) purchased an Airport Extreme.
I'm having troubles with intermittent drops of internet connectivity.
The router is connected wan side to a Motorola surfboard 6120, and from there to Comcast cable service. Wired LAN side, I have the router connected to another switch. I also use the wireless for my iPad.
When started, the router works just fine. But in ~ an hour it seems to drop the internet connection, or at least stops routing out to the net. There is no LED indication on the front panel that anything is wrong (on both the airport or the modem). And in the Airport Utility, it still lists my public IP etc etc... and there seems (to me) to be nothing enlightening in the stats and logs screen.
Once back on my old router (Linksys), there is no interruption in internet connectivity. So, I'm fairly confident this is the apple router misbehaving.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the discussion area, jbuffat!
+When started, the router works just fine. But in ~ an hour it seems to drop the internet connection, or at least stops routing out to the net.+
This is a classic symptom of some sort of wireless interference that is affecting the Apple router. It's not unusual at all for one manufacturer's router to work well and another have problems in a given location. I've had the exact reverse of your issue with the Apple router working great, but Linksys slowing down and losing connections.
The culprit is most likely a nearby cordless phone, either yours or even a neighbors. If you have cordless phones there, try turning them off for a few hours to see if the problems continue. If they don't, you have your answer.
A nearby wireless network at the neighbors could certainly be causing problems as well as a new security system nearby.
Without trying to be scientific about this, the easiest probable solution is to start changing the wireless channel on your AirPort Extreme to see if you can find some clear airspace. Keep experimenting until you find a good channel or run out of channels.
Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
Set the Radio Channel Selection to Manual to try different settings
