Connecting multiple datasource

How to use multiple data source(data on different DB) in single ADF application.
>>
I have one table in one DB (A) and another table in DB(B).
When i used create table from business component ,i am able to create objects from two different table located in different DB one by one.
but the application is able to use one data source at a time.
Please help.

Hi,
You can create a view / synonym for the table for which you want to create entities (the table which resides in another database).
Say, if you've created the database link for the another database with the name dblink_db2, and your table name (for which you want to create the entity) is table1, then
-- For Creating the view
create view table1_view as select * from table1@dblink_db2;
-- For creating the synonym
create synonym table1_syn for table1@dblink_db2;Now, you can use the view / synonym for creating the entity.

  • Multiple DataSource using single Connection Pool

Previously using Weblogic 6.1 we had a configuration where multiple Datasources used a single connection pool. Now that we are in the process of upgrading to Weblogic 9.1, we are attempting to recreate the same configuration.
The Weblogic 9.1 upgrade wizard appears to have created the relevent datasource & connection pool configuration files but when attempting to use these I am receiving the following errors:

Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction with this? Configuring the Datasources through the Admin Console creates a single Datasource configuration file that contains its relevent connection pool configuration, but the Weblogic Upgrade wizard creates a Datasource config file and a separate connection pool config file. What would I need to do to use the config files generated by the Weblogic Upgrade wizard?
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs90/jdbc_admin/jdbc_intro.html#1044158
    Simplified JDBC Resource Configuration
In WebLogic Server 9.0, the number of JDBC resource types was reduced to simplify JDBC configuration and to reduce the likelihood
of configuration errors. Instead of configuring a JDBC connection pool and then configuring a data source or tx data source to
point to the connection pool and bind to the JNDI tree, you configure a data source that encompasses a connection pool.
Note: Because of the new configuration design, you can no longer have multiple data sources that point to a single connection
pool. Instead, you can create additional data sources, each with its own pool of connections, or you can bind a single data source
to the JNDI tree with multiple names. See Binding a Data Source to the JNDI Tree with Multiple Names for more information.

  • How to handle multiple datasources in a web application?

I have a J2EE Web application with Servlets and Java ServerPages. Beside this I have a in-house developed API for certain services built using Hibernate and Spring with POJO's and some EJB.
There are 8 databases which will be used by the web application. I have heard that multiple datasources with Spring is hard to design around. Considering that I have no choice not to use Spring or Hibernate as the API's are using it.
Anyone have a good design spesification for how to handle multiple datasources. The datasource(database) will be chosen by the user in the web application.

Let me get this straight. You have a web application that uses spring framework and hibernate to access the database. You want the user to be able to select the database that he wants to access using spring and hibernate.
Hopefully you are using the Spring Framework Hibernate DAO. I know you can have more that one spring application context. You can then trying to load a seperate spring application context for each database. Each application context would have it's own configuration files with the connection parameters for each datasource. You could still use JNDi entries in the web.xml for each datasource.
Then you would need a service locater so that when a user selected a datasource he would get the application context for that datasource which he would use for the rest of his session.
I think it is doable. It means a long load time. And you'll need to keep the application contexts as small as possible to conserve resources.

  • Multiple Datasources Problem WSAD4.0.3

    Hi,
I am using WSAD4.0.3 in our project. For our application we have an Oracle 9i DB. I created a Datasource in WSAD Test Server with JNDI name as jdbc/ds1. For one of the task i have to connect to a entire different Oracle 9i DB. This is only for this module. The rest of the application uses the first DB. I have created a second Datatsource with JNDI name as jdbc/ds2. From my DAOs i pass the jndi name to get the connection to the corresponding database. From the EJB test client i was able to run my EJBs, connect using ds2 and run my queries.
The problem i am facing is once the server connects to a database, and afterwards for my next task if i was trying to get connection to the other database, i am not getting any code errors. But apparently the datasource is still connected to the first database and that is giving me a Table or View does not exist error. Its happening both ways. First connects through ds1 when i login to our project. If i do something related to that same database, it works. But if i try getting connection through ds2, i get table does not exist error, because its executing the query in the first database and those tables obviously dont exit in that DB.
I was able to get direct connection to the second database from my DAO. But thats not what i want to do, because i foresee us updating table in 3-4 different databases for this task and we want to use Datatsources because we have change the code whenever they make changes to the Database or the machines where it is.
Could someone please help me on my problem. Any kind of input is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ravi.

    Hi Ravi,
I'm not sure I understand your problem. I too use WSAD and have multiple datasources configured for each database I need to connect to without issue. However, it sounds as if you are trying to use the datasources to connect to different db's such as 1 for dev, 1 for test, 1 for qa(?). So you want the datasources to dynamically allow you to run the same code against different db instances. Is this the case?
If so, I'd suggest using the same datasource as default, but configure your system (and I think it can be done in the datasource but I'm not positive) to use property file which defines the db you wish to connect to. You'd still need a restart, but no code changes other than to tweak the property file (and WSAD can be set up to store the data in memory which allows you to write a seperate class which could refresh the memory on changes without a restart).

  • Multiple DataSources of the same type (e.g. Peoplesoft Financials) in DAC

If I am definining multiple DataSources of the same type (e.g. Peoplesoft Financials) so as to extract data from multiple source ERP systems into a single DataWarehouse, should I have to define separate Data Source Numbers for each source database ?
I know the preseeded OBIA definitions provide different Data Source Number for Oracle Ebusiness Suite, Peoplesoft etc. But if I have the same ERP application and version in multiple source databases, how do I separate them ? Should I simply edit the Data Source Number and assign a new number to a new source ? Or do I have to copy some templates ?
Referring to Section 3.1.6 of the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Configuration Guide (7.9.6.1).
    Hemant K Chitale

    Hemant,
The purpose of DATASOURCE_NUM_ID is to identify which source it's from.
In the Warehouse a combination of Integration_ID and DATASOURCE_NUM_ID defines the uniqueness.
In your case the Source System and Verison is the same so its not required to have different DATSOURCE_NUM_ID
but if for traceability you want to have one it then you can define it.
My advise would be to have one Datsource Num ID as defined for your version and Source System.

  • How can I connect multiple clients to a single client ?

I am currently developing an instant messaging program.I created a server and connected multiple clients to it by using thread logic. However I do not know how to connect multiple client to a single client.
What shall I do for that?Does anybody know a good tutorial or sample program?Or shall anybody explain me what I shall do for building the Instant Messaging part of my chat program?
    Thank u in advance.

You may use UDP multicast socket. But since you are using the UDP protocol you might risk losing the data that you send since UDP does not guarantee the safe transfer of data.
Alternately, you might create a server that allows multiple client to connect to it whose connection Socket objects are then stored in a Vector <Socket> object. The server then sends back data to the connected client about the other clients connected to it. Now when the client wants to send data (like an IM) to another connected client, it has to send a request to the server specifying the client login name and the server in turn streams that particular client's Address and Port to the requesting client. The requesting client then initiates the connection with the other client and then starts a conversation. One more thing, when the client communicates it needs to send information to the server like the name by which it likes to be referenced. In this scenario the server acts like a central repository for clients to query the existence of other clients in the chat room. Each client here runs a thread that listens to incoming connections and when a connection is established, may be opens a IM window or something.
The third option is to make the server to relay the information from one client to another. Like say, I'm connected to whoopy server and i want to send "Hello" to jackson, then i send the message (ie, Hello) along with the name of the client to which i wish to send it to (ie, jackson). The server then performs a lookup in its Vector <Socket> object and then initiates a connection with jackson and sends the information. However, this method is pretty costly in that you will be wasting a lot of processing behind the server.

  • How do I connect multiple displays to a Lenovo 405

how do I connect multiple displays to a Lenovo 405 running windows 7?  I tried a video card but the built in amd video port would not function with the video card plugged in.
Moderator Note; subject edit, post moved to here

    hi harry13,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If you're referring to the Lenovo® H405, this unit has an integrated VGA and HDMI out according to this pdf data sheet.
If you'll be using a flat panel monitor (that usualy has a VGA connector and a single link DVI D digital interface), you will need to connect 1 monitor to the VGA out and use an HDMI to single link DVI-D converter on the other monitor. You might need to scan for hardware changes under the device manager to identify the monitor that's connected to the HDMI to DVI-D converter. Note that you need to change the video setup under BIOS to IGD or the onboard graphics.
If you'll be using your discrete video adapter for the multi-monitor setup, you must change the video setup to PEG under the BIOS and the video card must have a vga or hdmi/dvi out.
Also, see these guides as a reference:
How to set up dual monitors in Windows 7
Dual monitor setup: Two monitors are better than one
    Hope this helps.

4)Please Guide me how to create Views for these tables and How to handle Multiple Datasources.
    Thanks

    Noor,
Have you checked suitable business content datasources.
I think you have lot of options
FIrst You need to have a multiple data source
--> Check for suitable business content datasources
--> check whether these details are already available in BW through any means (through other standard datasources to ODS)
--> Create customized extractor finally as a last option
All these tables are atandard and nost probably you would find a standard datasource ( again multiple) I am sure for costing you have standard
Few or more standard datasources or already existing BW objexts with 1 or 2(rarely) customized extractor would do the purpose that you look for,....
    Good Luck !!!

  • Issue connecting multiple servers in parallel using wlst

    Hi,
I have requirement to write a jython script to connect multiple weblogic servers and generate some reports.
I am importing wlstModule(import wlstModule as wl) in the scirpts.
I would need multiple users to be able to run the script from a webpage in parallel. The website is based on java.
       1. My initial thoughts were to create a new thread for each user request. But since the global variable cmo is shared between the jython threads,i believe it wouldn't work.
       2. My second option is to create a new process for each user. This way each process would have its own independent global namespace.
Even though this should work,it dosen't look the cleanest way to do.
Does someone have any better idea?

You can use the Distribution Monitor for that purpose. Check note  855772 - Distribution Monitor

    Hi Kris,
Yes, you can connect multiple R/3 systems to one APO system. All you need to do is to maintain connection parameters of all the R/3 systems with APO. (i.e. RFC Destinations, logical systems, partner profiles etc.)

  • Connecting multiple ColdFusion 10 instances to a single Apache 2.2 server

This is replicated from StackOverflow's "Server Fault" site. The CF community there is under represented, so I'm posting here too.  Sorry for "cross post".
This is on Windows 7 Home Premium edition.
I have got two ColdFusion 10 (updater 2) instances: "cfusion" (the default one), and "scratch".
I have got a single instance of Apache 2.2 running.
Within Apache, I have set up two virtual hosts, each of which needs to be served by a different ColdFusion instance.
Each of the CF instances serves files fine via Tomcat's internal web server. Apache serves vanilla HTML files fine too. So both CF instances, and both virtual hosts separately work OK.
I can get wsconfig.exe to connect either one of the CF instances to the Apache server, and serve CF files via Apache & that instance.
However I cannot find a way of connecting the second CF instance to Apache as well, so that both CF instances are conected, each serving one of the virtual hosts. WSConfig doesn't seem to understand the notion of "multiple CF instances", and the changes it makes to the httpd.conf (via mod_jk.conf) does not seem to be implemented in such a way as to accommodate multiple CF instances talking to a single Apache instance, or multiple virtual hosts. I freely admit to not being confident enough with how mod_jk (or even really httpd.conf) works to be able to guess if I can change stuff to make it work.
If I try to add the second CF instance using WSConfig, I just get a message "the web server is already configured for ColdFusion". Be that as it may... not the instance of ColdFusion I want to connect it to! If I remove the existing connector to whichever instance is already connected, I can then connect the other one no problems. Not that this helps, but it demonstrates that the CF instance can connect to Apache.
This all used to be fairly straight fwd under older versions of CF and JRun :-(
The only docs I have found are on the "Connect multiple Apache virtual hosts on a web server to a single ColdFusion server" page (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Admin/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbf364104-7fd 5.html), but that specifically only deals with a single CF instance. There is no equivalent page for multiple CF instances.
I'm kinda hoping I can move some of the mod_jk config into my virtual host entries in httpd-vhosts.conf (this is how it used to work for JRun), but I've no idea what to put where.
I think I've covered all the necessary info here? If not, sing out and I'll add more. Thanks.
    Anyone?  Cheers.
    Adam

The answer to your question is Yes, a single mediator can invoke two service calls at same time as well.
First, define your service references in the composite.xml
Once you have done that, you can add any number of routing rules for each operation defined in the mediator. In your case, you will need to add two static routing rules within the same operation in the Mediator file. You can also select whether the calls will be sequential or parallel by selecting correct value in the dropdown inside the routing rule. Each routing rule will invoke one service reference in your case.

  • How to connect multiple Xserve Raid for Best Performance

I like to get an idea how to connect multiple Xserve Raid to get the best performance for FCP to do multiple stream HD.

Again, for storage (and retrieval), FireWire 400 should be fast enough. If you are encoding video directly to the external drive, then FireWire 800 would probably be beneficial. But as long as the processing of the video is taking place on the fast internal SATA drive, and then you are storing files on the external drive, FireWire 400 should be fine.
Instead of speculating about whether it will work well or not, you need to set it up and try your typical work flow. That is the only way you will know for sure if performance is acceptable or not.
For Time Machine, you should use a single 1.5TB drive. It is likely that by the time your backup needs comes close to exceeding that space, you will be able to buy a 3TB (or larger) single drive for the same cost. Also, I would not trust a RAID where the interaction between the two drives is through two USB cables and a hub. If your primary storage drive fails, you need your backup to be something that is simple and reliable.
Oh, and there should be no problem with the adapter, if you already have it and it works.
Edit: If those two external drives came formatted for Windows, make sure you have use Disk Utility Partition tab to repartition and reformat the drive. When you select the drive in the Disk Utility sidebar, at the bottom of the screen +Partition Map Scheme+ should say *GUID Partition Table*. When you select the volume under the drive in the sidebar, Format should say *Mac OS Extended (Journaled)*.
