Connecting multiple speakers to Sound Ca

I have a situation where I would like to have two sets of speakers connected to my computer. I would like one smaller set to be on my computer desk and a larger pair placed around my apartment. When I stream music I want to be able to switch to the room ones and when I play games I want to set it to the ones on my desk. I have the Audigy 2 ZS sound card....does anyone know how I would do this? If I have two sets of speakers can I connect them to my soundcard and then just switch something through the creative mediasource? Thanks for any help

You can send the same stereo signals to two sets of analog stereo speakers. Is that what you're after? Plug one speaker set into Line-out and the other into Line-out 2. Select 4/4. speakers. In the EAX Console, enable CMSS3D and select Stereo Surround. Set the Stereo Focus to 0% to play both sets of speakers equally. I haven't tried it, but maybe you could "switch" between the two sets of speakers by adjusting focus to the front or rear. My speakers have power switches, so I simply turn on the preferred speakers and turn off the other set. Note that this setup works for stereo sources and will probably have problems with true surround sound sources.Message Edited by Katman on 05-08-2006 :05 AM

  • Connecting Multiple Speakers

I have two airport express units one near the imac with printer and internet connected and one in another room with a stero connected, I had hoped to play music through both the stereo speakers and the computer at the same time with the multiple speakers tab in itunes. When i try to do this it tells me that my remote express does not support multiple speakers. What am i doing wrong Please ??

Would it be possible that you're not running the latest firmware (6.3) on the remote express? (ref: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/airportexpressfirmwareupdate63formacosx.h tml)

  • Spotify Connect - Multiple Speakers/Devices

Now that connect is becoming available it would be nice to be able to connect to multiple outputs at the same time. For example I have 2 connect compatable speakers... it'd be great to have these in different parts of my house and be able to stream the same music to both.
I would suggest a maximum of 3 devices at the same time. This will allow for most scenarios to be catered for without streatching the bandwidth too much that it will degrade quality.

We really need to be able to use more than 1 speaker output.   Considering canceling subscription and using iTunes radio.   I like being able to use airplay / Bluetooth speaks all over the house for parties.   We have Apple TV, Airport Express and Bluetooth - so 1 output does not work for us.

  • How can I connect multiple speakers to the Mac Mini?

Just received and setup up my new Mac Mini (Dual-Core i7, 8GB memory, 750GB disk) with OS Lion.  Still in newbie phase.  I have a set of 3-way Boston Acoustic speakers (w/ subwoofer) from an old Gateway computer.  Is there any way/adapter available to connect them to the Mac Mini in order to improve music played within iTunes.  Appreciate your responses.

  • Multiple speakers for airport express

I'm trying to connect multiple speakers from my Itunes but I can't get it to work. I can get one or the other to work but I can't get both to work at the same time. I updated the software for A-express, still doesn't seem to work. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?
    thanks

    Hi
I have been having the same problem since I purchased an Airport Express. You can select one or the other speakers, but an error message comes up if you try and select both.
It is rather more annoying given that I have 'remote' on my iPod Touch which completely locks up if you try and change the speakers.
I have had no luck getting Apple to understand the issue - despite several emails and phone conversations with support. Ultimately I consider it to be a software development issue.
Hopefully they are reading these posts!!

  • Can I use Express to connect multiple ceiling installed speakers?

I am remodeling my house and would like to put speakers in multiple rooms in my house. How would I go about doing this? Will I need to get an Express for each room in order to control when I want sound to come out of the speaker? If I want to put 2 speakers in the living room, how do I go about connecting both speakers to 1 Express station?

I agree, hook up the speakers to an amp and then connect the amp to the airport express. and yes, you'll need an airport express for each room.
while not as cool - and also not as buggy and probably cheaper and definitely more extensible - use wired connections. they're less susceptible to interference (google "airtunes drop out"). then you can get a controller that will let you turn on and off the music/tv/dvd/sound in any room you choose. if you're remodelling your house then i'm sure you're already tearing up the walls. i'd hate to set up my house(!) to use airtunes without a wired redundancy.
good luck, it sounds like you'll have fun when you're done fixing up the place.

  • Sound Drop Out When Attempting to Use Multiple Speakers

Disclaimer: I've spent 3-4 hours searching for the answer, so - I'm posting another "Sound Drop Out" thread.. sorry!
I have 1 new AirPort Extreme, and 3 Expresses. I can stream music to one at a time without much problem. As soon as I try to go to more than 1 the sound gets very, very choppy (this includes 1 airport express and the computer speakers).
My iTunes library is on a USB airport disk shared from the Extreme.
I see many posts about not being able to connect to multiple speakers with Leopard 10.5.1 (which I am using) - but I am not getting the error messages those people are seeing. Also, my firewall is configured correctly.
My network is well within 150ft. The extreme is creating a network, and all the expresses are configured to join the network. I thought of setting up a WDS network, but would this be worth the trouble (I am having problems getting it configured correctly)?
I doubt signal strength is a problem. If I can stream to the express alone, why cant I play to the express and the computer speakers simultaneously? That wouldn't have anything to do with the wireless network signal strength?
Looking forward to your suggestions. I'm spending way too much time getting this to work. Apple is supposed to "just work" -right? LOL.

I think this has to do with the airport scanning for different networks. I have 2 airport express stations hooked up in different rooms, and the speakers drop out all the time. It *****.
But when I watch the airport on my laptop (streaming the music), the time counter next to the airport icon goes away momentarily. I think it's somehow disconnected from the network, or is scanning networks.
There are a number of posts regarding the airport constantly scanning networks, but I haven't found anything yet that helps keep the airport connected. It definitely seems to be worse in the evenings when a lot of people are using their computers.
When your speakers drop out, do the numbers next to the airport icon (on the serving computer) freeze or disappear?

  • Spotify Connect - Multiple Car Speakers/Devices

Hello,Can anyone help me?I bought a new car radio, Kenwood KDC- BT73DAB, and when i stream with bluetooth, from the IPhone 4(compatible with the car radio), spotify only plays over my front autospeakers and not over the much better rear autospeakers! HelpWhen i listen to digital radio it plays over my rear speakers(CALIBER) and the sound is 'sublime'...., or good enough for me. The sound over/through the front speakers, it is not so sublime, so i use the fader an fade them out(almost), so i only hear my rear autospeakers. When playing music from spotify then i only hear little sound from the front speakers and nothing at all from the rear speakers, and that is NOT what i wanted. I wanted to stream  my spotify music in the car, and hear the music from the better rear autospeakers!!!That is why I bougth te new car radio!I am very disappointed :(Can anyone help me with this? Hope so.....My English is not that good, if you can answer in Dutch, it would be nice...Thanks I see my problem is sort of answered by a similar question regarding multiple speakers/devices for at home Spotify says Hey folks, we don't have plans to implement this anytime soon. We're going to mark this idea as 'Not Right Now' but we will definitely update this idea if we have any news. Thanks everyone. I think i do not want my premium spotify any longer if spotify is not doing something about this......

  • Interrupted connection when multiple speakers

    Hi,
My AE is configured properly to join my existing network. It has the latest firmware running and the green light is on. I can play iTunes music to my MacBook speakers. But when I play through multiple speakers (Logitec speakers connected to AE + computer) then no sound comes out of the remote speakers (still green light) and the sound through the MacBook speakers is interrupted every few seconds or sometimes longer (like a buffer-problem?). What is this and how to fix it?

I've had the same problem and have been searching for a resolution for a while. As I'm sure you've experienced, the recommendation to allow UDP traffic in the firewall doesn't quite apply for us Windows users (at least, I don't see a simple way of enabling all UDP traffic in XP). Besides the inevitable switch to an Apple, does anyone know of any solutions for XP users? I, too, am running a Linksys router and have the same exact error in the same scenarios. All firmware is up to date and I am running the most recent version of iTunes and QT.

  • HT1349 My Ipod mini syncs, but when I go to play, no sound.  I've tried multiple speakers and headphones. No Go.  What next?

My Ipod mini syncs, but when I go to play, no sound.  I've tried multiple speakers and headphones. No Go.  What next?
My latest problem is that the Apple site will not recognize my equipment by it's serial number.  I know the mini is old, but I like what it did for me and don't necessarily want to "upgrade".

This is the iPad in the Enterprise forum. You'll be more likely to get help with your issue if you ask in the appropriate iPod forum.

  • The icon that allows connection to multiple speakers is gone, how do i get it back?

I am not sure how, but the icon that allows for mulitple speakers has disappeared from my Itunes.  How do I get it back? I had a problem with Bonjuor and I believe this is the cause of the issue, but I reloaded it and I still don't have the icon.  Apple TV can connect to my library, but I have no control over multiple speakers from my PC.  I alos have an Airport Express running off this same system.

youre voice to text option is not gone. Please go into settings and get into accessibility and turn on voice selection. If voice selection is on please restart the iphone. Also turn on siri.
Hope your problem will be solved
    Thanks

  • Sound - My built speakers do not show in the output section in sound system preferences area only digital out hence unless I connect external speakers I have no sound - can anyone assist?

on my IMac the internal speakers have ceased working - in the sound preferences area only digital out sound is there no internal speakers to choose so unless I connect external speakers I have no sound

    Hey Jack (woofman jack)
Sounds like the micro switch inside the output jack that switches the audio from internal to external is stuck on external. Try plugging a set of buds, headphones or digital Toslink adapter in and out a few times to see if it will unstick the micro switch. You also might try jiggling a tooth pick around inside the audio output jack to see if that unsticks it? If not then you'll need to make an appointment at your Local Apple Store or Apple Service Provider and have the jack serviced.

  • HT6067 How can I connect 5.1 surround sound speakers to my Mac Pro?

How to connect 5.1 surround sound speakers without a receiver to my Mac Pro, so I can test and hear surround sound files I am creating?

As far as I know, the only way to do that is with the digital out, toslink I believe(1). . Currently there are very few external usb soundcards that are known to work with Mac and produce 5.1 sound, perhaps Diamond Multimedia or Zalman?. Analog surround really doesn't work (green, yellow, black cords)*. So, maybe, Garage band/VLC? or the dvd player might be the only things I know that could produce 5.1 sound, but I could be wrong.......
    (1) You will  need a speaker set with an optical input...
    * maybe try this--i think it's called an " HD audio rush " box and it converts digital to analog audio 5.1 supposedly-, you can look on ebay for similar things
sorry I couldn't be of more help

Ok, if you are connecting the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) to the existing wireless network, then the DSL in the next room is most likely a combination DSL modem and wireless router. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
Although they may only be separated by a single wall, the building material used in that wall may be enough to prevent the AX from receving a "good" signal from the DSL router.
Since I don't know what computing equipment you have available, please check out this AirPort User Tip: AirPort - Optimal Base Station Placement to see if you can get some SNR measurements at the location of your AX. To do this properly, you will want to power-off the AX and only get these measurements for the DSL router.

  • Connecting multiple remote speakers

    Hi all,
I'm having a few problems with this. I have an Airport Extreme base station connected to my mac (which I've recently upgraded with the latest firmware) and two Airport Express stations which are each connected to a remote set of speakers.
I've connected all three on to a network, with the idea the 2 Ax will allow me to play itunes through my hifi in the Living Room and Sun Lounge. Itunes recognises the two airports, but I can only play through one airport/set of speakers at a time. If I try to play all three (i.e computer/sun lounge/living room), or even a combination of two of the three I get a message saying 'an error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker "living room/sun lounge". An unknown error occurred (-3256)'. Sorry if I haven't explained that too well, it's an error mesage for each airport.
    Any ideas?
    Paul

I got the same problem and I solved it by allowing UDP traffic on ports 6001 and 6002 of my wireless router's firewall. These ports need to be open for multiple speakers to work.
Not familiar enough with Airport Extreme to write you a detail walktrough on how to change its firewall setting; but it should not be hard for you to find.
    hope this help.
