Connecting my iphone to a HDTV...???
I just purchased the component AV cables for the iphone thinking that I could view on tv what I see on the iphone. I was wrong. I can only see videos from you tube, quicktime videos from the internet. I can see the pictures as a slideshow. The music I am having trouble, I can only hear music when i am seeing the pictures. If I use the ipod feature I get no sound.
Am I missing something? I can't see podcasts and many other features. Is this all we get from the 50 dollar cables?
I'm a PC type guy so I'm not going to be a lot of help here, but I do know folks do this all the time.
The iPhone requires MPEG4 video, and using the H264 codec is best (there is another MPEG4 codec, called Level 2, but the compression isn't as good nor is the picture as nice). To project or play on a TV I would recommend using a resolution of 640 (height will depend on whether it's widescreen or not) and a max or total bitrate not more than 1000. This will result in an excellent image even on a large screen, and will play just fine.
You may want to do a search on this very forum (use "iMovie") and you'll see some threads that will tell you how to do what you want specifically.

(Note: You will generally only see the arrangement option in Displays when you are configured to use the external display in Extended Desktop mode; there is no arrangement in Mirroring as both screens are showing the same image.)

Whenever I connect my iPhone to my Mac it automatically starts iPhoto? How can I make this not happen?

However, mine says "Update" and "Restore iPhone..." also it says this above these buttons "A newer version of the iPhone software is available(7.1). To update your iPhone to the latest software, click Update.".
Upon clicking on the "Update" button it opens a window with a title of "Open" and shows all of my Desktop folders and Application folders and such. What am I supposed to be opening(if anything)? Same thing happens if I click the "Restore iPhone..." button. Help ASAP would be much appeciated.

How do I connect an iPhone 5S or 6 with audio video cables? Our van only has these connections. Apple did have a cable that worked with the 4/4S, but it does not work with an adapter on the 5S. I want audio only.

My dad got this iPhone for me a few months ago as a gift since I had a really awful phone before. The only thing is, I can't seem to upgrade it to the latest software without it telling me it's already updated to iOS 4 or something like that. (I would be able to give you the exact iOS version, but ever since connecting my iPhone to iTunes, my phone isn't responding so I can't check the settings or anything.) I can't download any apps (I get an error message saying the software on my phone is too old) and so I pretty much am extremely limited to what I can do on this phone. I'm very frustrated at this point and incredibly displeased with Apple's products.
If someone could please explain to me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it, I'd be extremely grateful.

If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. -
How do you delete songs that you purchased through iTunes but don't show up when you connect the iphone to iTunes? They don't show up in the music section when you click on "On this phone". Side Note: I have my phone setup to manually manage music. Please help.

If you want to delete a song from your iOS device on iOS 7, tap Songs, swipe the song from right to left, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

I connected my iphone 4s that I unlocked for t-mobile. I plugged it into itunes, and it asked me to update to ios6. I accepted the download and update button. It told me it needed 8 hours. I closed my laptop, not shut down. I re-opened the laptop a few hours later, and it wants restoring?? Whats going on?! i want my iphone back! PLEASE HELP. I'M LOST!!! (I synced my iphone to my computer if that helps at all).
Yes, and, I try to restore. I have the T-Mobile sim card in it just to clarify. It will not let me get passed that, it does not accept the t-mobile sim card. i tried restoring it using wifi, cellular, and i cant get i tunes. I am scared that if i take the tmobile sim card out and put the at&t one in just to complete the restoration process that the iphone will lock again and not read the tmobile sim card, then all my hard work has gone for nothing. ( this whole process was caused by me trying wanting to empty my pictures onto my computer because i did not have any storage space left). <--- that may not be as important, but i included it just because.

When I connect my iPhone (5s) to my computer it says that it's storage is full and that I have over 4,000 pictures even though I have deleted all of them. It won't allow me to add music or anything else either because it says my phone is full. I have restarted my phone and the computer multiple times, but it still tells me that my phone is full.
iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

When i connect my iPhone to iTunes, it says i have to set up my iPhone, and wont allow me to sync any media i have already purchased on it. My phone is not new, so I dont understand? This all came about when i updated the iOS 6 software. I have tried to re-set up my phone but it makes no difference and deletes everything off my phone.

If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.

This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone. -
Itunes wont let me download 11 to connect my iphone
trying to connect my iphone 4G S and it tells me to download ituens 11 and i get half way thro and tells me to close ituens to complet but says there is an eror

Why is it that when I connect my iPhone 5S to my Windows Vista computer, the photos made with my iPhone are all of very low quality and most of them are turned upside down?
On another note, the iPhone tells me that it's ''busy'' when opening a photo on the computer.
(I tried restarting my PC, connecting via another USB port, importing using PhotoStream, etc...)Are you using the front or rear camera? When you say they are low quality, are you referring to file/pixel size, or how the picture looks? As far as upside down, how are you holding the phone? Older versions of Windows have issues reading the Metadata from the pictures and will not display the same.

when bluetooth headset is connected to iphone,I can't hear iphone ringing aloud when I have a call or a text. Do i really have to wear the bluetooth headset all the time in my ear to know when I have a call or a message? Why it doesnt ring through iphone but it rings through the bluetooth headsets?
In other phones, you can hear the phone ringing and if it was connected to bluetooth, you could pick up the call from the bluetooth headset.
Here with iphone, if its connected to bluetooth headset, it only rings through the headset, which means that if you dont have the headset in the ear all the time, you cannot know that you have an incoming call or message.
Any ideas - solutions - comments please?I'm having the same problem. I had a plantronics 975 (which I lost, sadly). When connected, the ringer would always be routed through the bluetooth and the iPhone's external speaker. When in silent mode, the iPhone would only vibrate, but I could still hear the ringer in the bluetooth.
I just bought a new Plantronics Voyager+. Now when it's connected, all sounds are routed to the earpiece - including the taps, etc. The iPhone's speaker doesn't ring at all, unless the bluetooth is disconnected or powered off. I'd really like to be able to hear both, like I was before. This is an iPhone 3G running iOS 4 (latest version, not sure what it is exactly). Haven't updated software/firmware in between bluetooths, just changed the earpiece. -
