Connecting my ipod to my laptop - playlist problem

When I connect my ipod to the laptop, it loses the position in the playlist I was listening to. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I hate getting half way through an audiobook, recharging the ipod and loosing my position in the playlist.

What type of iPod?

TS1398 I can no longer connect to my home wireless on my ipad2, have done all the suggested fixes, still cannot connect. Daughter cannot connect her iPod, but husbands laptop is connected to wireless.

All of a sudden my ipad will not connect to our home wireless. I have reset the wireless settings, turned my ipad off and back on, turned off wireless and back on, basically have done all of the fixes suggested and still I cannot connect. My daughter cannot connect her iPod either, but my husbands laptop can and is connected to our wireless. The wireless is working and until two days ago I had no problems connecting.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

When I connected my iPod to make a playlist, I got a message saying that iTunes had "detected an iPod that might be corrupted" and I could disconnect and try again- which hasn't worked- or restore. Any thoughts? I don't want to lose all of my playlists.

I just connected my iPod after opening iTunes to make a playlist and repeatedly have gotten the message that 'iTunes has detected an iPod that might be corrupted." I can either disconnect and try again, which I've done multiple times to no avail, or restore. I don't want to lose the dozens of playlists, so do I have any options that anyone knows of?

What iPhone do you have? You can check in settings>>general>> about.
If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

HT4322 iPod Shuffle gen 4 playlist problems

I have followed all direction related to playlist and still, playlist is not functional. I'm not new to computers to following directions so these are not issues. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I restore, reinstall the playlist software and resync? Any help is most appreciated.

Well, my mind-reading superpower is not working today, so I have to ask the (perhaps) obvious questions to know what you mean by "ALL"?
When you press and hold the VoiceOver button on the shuffle, do you hear it saying the playlist menu? What does it say, if anything?
You may have loaded the shuffle from one or more playlists, but are the playlists themselves on the shuffle?
First, if you are using the latest iTunes, the sidebar may be hidden. If so, go up to the menu bar, and under View, select Show Sidebar. This will make it easier for me. You can change it back later, if you want.
In the sidebar, under DEVICES, select the shuffle. You should be able to "toggle down" the shuffle's content list, so that it appear indented under the iPod. It should say Music there, and if the playlists are on the shuffle, they should appear there as well. Do you see the expected playlists under the shuffle in the sidebar?

I am having trouble connecting my Ipod to my itunes. Everytime i connect my ipod my computer gets it but it does not show up on itunes. Is there something i have to do so when i plug in my ipod to my laptop it shows up on itunes?

I used to be able to connect my ipod to my laptop and itunes used to open up and i could manage my ipod. But now I connect my ipod to my laptop and itunes does not come up. However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Hey, i've tried connecting my ipod to my laptop itunes and it's not working. My laptop shows it's connected but itunes isn't showing it's there. i've tired reinstalling, taking itunes off rebooting the laptop and putting it back on. I don't know how to get it working. Plus on top i restarted my ipod and the choice between wifi and connecting to itunes i'm choosing itunes but it's still not showing up. I can use the help for the Windows 7 and ipod touch. ITunes freezes when I connect my iPod/weird clicking noise

Hi, recently I've tried connecting my iPod to my laptop and iTunes would freeze and task manager said it wasn't responding. In addition, when this happened, my iPod would make a weird clicking noise. I noticed this noise before when I had it on shuffle and would skip to a different song just after another song started. Does anyone know what's going on?

When I'm playing songs with iTunes and connecting my 3G 20GB iPod, my computer will hang up completely - screen goes dark and I have to reset my PC.
However, when my iTunes is "idle", i.e. not playing a song or doing anything else, connecting and syncing the iPod will work just fine.
I'm using the newest (6.x) Version of iTunes on WinXP SP2 with a 3G iPod 20GB.

If your phone is offline, the ONLY way to find it is to look for it the old fashioned way. Your phone CANNOT be located electronically if it's offline.

Managing multiple ipods on my laptop

My daughters got ipods for the first time. How do I set it up on itunes so that they can manage their own music files/folders, and that their ipods do not automatically try to sync with my music library every time they connect the ipods to the laptop? Thanks!

Ipod recognition with laptop.

My laptop no longer recognizes my iPod touch in iTunes. I have a Toshiba Satellite P55-A5312. The other day I accidently clicked "take no action" in a window that typically comes up in the upper right hand corner of the screen whenever I connect my iPod into my laptop, however my laptop is still able to sync my old ipod nano to itunes, but the window that in which I clicked take no action no longer comes up, and I am unable to sync my ipod with my itunes. Can someone please help?

I have an older iPod (15GB) and have successfully downloaded music from my Dad's old G4 (from his iTunes on that computer) and would now like to download my music from MY iTunes account on my PC. How can I do this? The iPod will connect, but is not "formatted" for pc??

You should transfer all the content from your dad's old G4 to itunes on your laptop

Although just copying to a USB stick and then importing into your windows PC will probably work
Then connect the iPod to your laptop computer and it will prompt you to Erase and sync which is fine. The sync the content you want onto the iPod.
iPod are ios based and are not formatted for Mac or windows
