  • Connecting Nano to PC causes other USB devices to unconnect

Connecting Nano to PC causes other USB devices to unconnect from USB2 ports. USB2 are on a pci card. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?
    Thanks,

    Hi
I have Satellite M70-159 and I didnt notice any strange problem with USB ports. I use a few of them like printer, webcam, USB memory stick, optical mouse and external HDD. The devices are recognized properly and I remove them always without safe remove option.
Now I have Vista preinstalled and till now there is no problem. If I understood you right USB ports are working well but there is problem with USB modem only. Am I right?
Try also to contact modem producer support. Maybe is issue like this known and hopefully they have some logical explanation.

  • Connecting Nano to in-car CD Radio

You can buy cassette that allows you to connect Nano to it so you can play through the car radio. I am trying to find something that connects Nano to a CD Radio (There is no input socket on the CD Radio) but can't find anything. Any ideas.

Something you should be aware of is that at the moment FM transmitters are illegal on Europe and the UK. Retailers will sell them but not all will tell you, some print a get out that you buy them with the understanding you can only use them on holiday. If you can get a solution using an auxiliary input such as jazzyaw suggests that would be best.
This is the information that Simply iPod include on their site:
Please note: This product may not be used in Europe and is sold with this understanding. Use of this device within Europe is illegal under the 1949 Wireless & Telegraphy Act. (See Terms and Conditions.) By purchasing this product you agree that you have read and understood the terms and conditions of sale.

  • Connecting nano to hifi

OK I'm pretty new to this so please bear with me.
I have a small cheap hifi unit (Akura is the brand). It is designed to play MP3 through a usb port on the front. However when I plug my nano into it the menu screen and controls on my nano become inactive, The hifi automatically starts to play from track one and I can skip tracks using the hifi remote. The hifi display window also shows the name of the track being played (tag ?). My BIG issue is that I can't view the track listing and select what tracks I want to listen to (I can't remember the seqeunce of 400+ tracks!) .....is there an easy fix , is it the hifi, is it a problem everyone has ??
    thanks

it sounds like an issue with the hifi stereo you have. Have you gone to the companies website to see if the stereo is compatible with the nano you have. It might not be. I suggest going to their website to see if its simply that problem.

  • IPOD NANO and a HIFI micro system

    Hi all,
This may be a stupid question, but I have a 1Gb Nano and I have just bought a new hifi micro system with a USB port. I plugged the nano into the USB and the system said that there were no music files on my IPOD. I plugged the IPOD back into my PC and found the music is all hidden. To make sure the hifi works, I plugged my PSP into the USB port and it played an MP3 straight away.
If I unhide the music on my PC, as soon as I disconnect the IPOD from my PC then reconnect, it is hidden again.
I think my problem is that the IPOD nano hides its music by default and the hifi cant find it.
Does anyone know who to turn off this security system to allow me to use the IPOD with my Stereo?

with the nano connected to the computer, go to itunes and file-transfer purchases.

  • USB Power Error Message When Connecting NANO

Windows XP Pro on desktop computer gave an error message that the USB port power too high or something to that effect. This has happened three times with Nano. Purchased the Nano only two days ago. I also connected the Nano to my Windows laptop to charge and it bucked the laptop battery and shut it down. Is this normal? Should I just return the Nano?

Normally the error you get is about the port not having enough power, so I don't know how it could be too high. Not sure what you mean by "bucked the battery" either, but it doesn't sound good. If it were me, I'd consider swapping the iPod for a new one to see if it's defective.

  • Why won't my ipod won't connect to my car hifi system through the usb cable? (it says: Unreadable)

Just bought the latest ipod nano because the usb on my previoius model was unreadable by my in car hifi system but found the same thing with this one.  Is there a different usb cable available that is compatible with a Mercedes E class?

    Did you do everything here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    Including
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
New cable and different USB port?
Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem

  • Problems connecting Nano 7th generation to bluetooth in car

Why does my new nano 7th generation have problems connecting to my cars's bluetooth.  All it does is search, search, search.etc etc etc?

Does your car use the A2DP Bluetooth profile? If not, I'm afraid you won't be able to connect the iPod to your car stereo system via Bluetooth.

  • Anyway to connect Nano to a TV for slideshow

    Nope.

  • Trouble connecting Nano to an external speaker...

Just picked up the JBL "On Stage" external speakers. I've got the nano plugged in, it is playing, and i can hear distortion coming through the speakers... but no music. any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
      Windows XP

I'm just using an external amplifier. I'm currently running my nano via a mini plug to my amp with a 3/4" plug into the amplifier. I just want to know if there is a qay to do this with the iPhone. I tried it and it didn't work and I suspect the microphone connection used on the ear buds makes this connection more difficult.

  • Connecting Nano to a 4Runner

Has anyone connected a Nano or Mini to a 2005 4Runner? On the Apple site they indicate a lot of audio connections to various cars but no Toyota's. Any information connection these items to a Toyota would be helpful.
    Thanks

This is probably not what you are looking for, but ...
I just paid $10 for cassette adaptor (at Wal Mart) for my T100. Pop in the tape and plug the other end into the iPod and bingo nice sound in 6 speakers in a small cab.
As a friend of mine says, "Sweeet".

    No Video Out. Sorry.

  • Connecting TV to iPod HiFi

Simple question, but can I find an answer?
I'm going to use my iPod HiFi as additional speakers for my Samsung flat screen TV. The TV has a 3.5mm headphone socket and standard RCA phono outputs. Is it better to get a 3.5mm-3.5mm cable and connect the HiFi to the headphone socket, or get a phono-3.5mm cable and connect to the stereo outputs?
    bestest,
    M.

I can only speak for myself, I will pick a cable of RCA (connecting with your TV) and a 3.5mm jack to the iPod HiFi.

  • Connecting Nano to home stereo or car stereo receiver

I hooked the Nano up to my home and car receivers via: mini-cable > AV cable.
    AUDIO SOUNDS VERY MUFFLED:
    • Its definitely not the quality of the mp3's.
    • EQ(if you can call it that) is on "off".
    • High volume, my home receiver turns off (power overload or something)
    • Low volume, low output
    Am I doing something wrong?
Do I need to buy a dock adapter to regulate power & output?
    Thanks for your responses.

    Thanks for your reply.
That is how far I had gotten:
    Audio sounds muffled,
even with any EQ or Volume setting on either receivers(home&car) and ipod. I tried all these variables.
I even got monster cables to make sure it had good connection.
Does a ipod dock regulate output?
    Does anyone know?
You'll know this by whether you have to use the ipod or the speakers to turn up the volume.
If you can use either volume controls, then it DOESN"T regulate output.
If you can ONLY use the speaker/receiver volume control, then it DOES regulate.
So please try your docks everyone, haha.
    Thanks...
