Connecting older HP printers to iPads wirelessly
Hello. Can anyone tell me what hardware and/or software I need to make my son's HP 4215 all-in-one printer and my daughter's HP C4680 all-in-one printer connect wirelessly to their iPads for printing? They each have iPad 2s running iOS 6. I'm hoping to avoid buying a new printer with wireless capability built in but will do that if that makes the mose sense and costs the same or less than trying to convert the older printers. What does the support community think? Thanks for your help!
A router with a USB printer port is insufficient for AirPrint. The printer itself must be AirPrint - enabled to use AirPrint.
If you have a Mac computer running Printopia ($19.95 with free trial) or handyPrint (donation - supported), it can act as an AirPrint print server. If your Mac can use the printer, so can any iOS device on your wireless network.
The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. Equivalent PC options may exist but you're on your own finding them.

You can connect any USB printer directly to the Xprintserver's USB port.
These options enable you to use any printer available to your network, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades.

You cannot print from the iPad to that printer. AirPrint and Bluetooth are completely different.
There may be apps you can buy that will enable using that printer, but that is not an ideal solution.
That particular printer has had many bad reviews, and is unreasonably expensive for its features. Considering that you just bought the printer, as well as its lack of AirPrint, I suggest you return it and buy a printer that supports AirPrint. -

Epson has a bit of software called EasyMP for PC's or Macs - this can be used wired USB / VGA / HDMI - or used wirelessly from either device without too much trouble.
If you give the Projector an IP Address in its own "Settings" Menu and then connect wirelessly using Epson's iProjection App for the iPad it should work.

I guess I can do that using an Airport express connected to the stereo and via airplay to my Ipad. On the iPad you can stream videos, photos, or music from the Video, Photos, Music, and YouTube apps to an Apple TV OR just stream music to an AirPort Express Base Station. -

Hi my airport router ( ateast i think this is where the problem originates) has been turning off intermittenly for the past week, when it does this NO devices recieve internet connection, mac, pc,iphone, ipad, wireless or hardwired directly to the router. However they all show to be connected with their corresponding bars and the ip's are all fine. Earlier today it started flucuating on and off about every 5 min making work impossible and now it seems to be completely broken (im currently on my iphone connected though its own internet) Does anyone know how or ehy this happened and how i can fix this? And to know if this originates from the router or something else entirely. Thank you!
Hi - some clarifications would help narrow down some symptoms - just what has been turning off? - has the light been solid green but the modem isn't providing wi-fi? - or is the light flashing yellow with no internet? - which can mean several things - does the light go out completey? - so if you can report on exactly what is happenening and when, maybe someone can help you - we also need to know if there any error messages along the way - we also need the types of devices involved and how they are attached - kind of like a nework map - the more info that you provide, the more answers you will get.

Tried updating my iPad wirelessly today. Process seemed to have gotten stuck and later wi fi crashed (in that order, I believe). Restarted iPad and got a picture of a wire leading to iTunes icon on the iPad screen. Nothing happens even when connected it to my Windows 8.1 PC, and iTunes doesn't seem to recognize the iPad.

I just recently purchased the iPad wireless keyboard and I've followed all the steps, but everytime I type in the code to pair it, it says it cannot be paired. I've kept in close range, pushed the connect but it won't connect. What do I do?

disconnect your laptop from the existing wifi network
Connect to the default Apple Networkxxxxxxxxx - that is your AEX open network
Go to the Airport Utility and set the AEX router to extend the Existing Network >> in the AirPort Tab > Wireless Tab >> Wireless Mode - choose your Linksys network and enter credentials - your AEX should now join the Linksys network
Then switch back to your original wifi network and your AEX should show in the AirPort utility as well, extending the range of your Linksys network, green light on
PS: Win XP support for WP2 authentication downright *****. Even with SP3, get ready for some "cannot connect" warnings. My Dell laptop from work would have major issues connecting to my home's AirPort WPA2. I had to downgrade to WPA at some point. -
Connecting network Printer to laptops via wireless
My daughter received a new Toshiba laptop for Christmas to help with her school work and I have been working to get it setup. I have nearly everything working fine including a network connection for internet through my network router, but I am having difficulty with connecting the laptop to my network printer. I have a Belkin F7D3302 v1 wireless router that serves as my network router and this Belkin router is connected via an ethernet cable to my desktop and the router is also connected wirelessly to my Alienware laptop (both run Windows 7) - I have full connectivity with both of these computers and no printing issues - I also have an older Sont Vaio laptop that runs Windows XP SP3 - it is also connected wirelessly to the network and I can print from this computer without any problem. I went into my daughter's computer to install the printer and although it found the printer the TEST PAGE would not print and the computer shows the printer as being offline. I did do a look at the Network Config on the printer and it shows the IP address as all zeros which I found odd, but my Alienware and Sony are conected so I should be able to get my daughters laptop to connect. Any help would be appreciated to get my daughters laptop connected to the printer
I have rebooted the laptop multiple times while using HP Scan and Print doctor, but to no avail. I am baffled largely because the ISP service connected between the Belkin router and the laptop without any difficulties and although when I click on Add Printer it shows the network printer it shows the status as offline continuously - when i try to start the HP software direct on the laptop (I installed the original HP software to the laptop) it says it cannot start because the printer has not finished installing. I am guessing it is either a Win 8.1 issue of some sort.

Access Connections 5.3 doesn't see wireless
Suddenly Access Connections can no longer see any wireless networks -- even though the Windows wireless manager connects fine. There are other similar recent posts but without a solution that works.

Solutions I've tried already:
Ran sys update to get latest versions
turned off firewall
removed Access Connections including all profiles
removed wireless adapter driver
removed hotkey features
rebooted
reinstalled Hotkey, Wireless driver, and Access Connections
rebooted
turned off firewall again during connection attempt
Access Connections fails to connect wirelessly (but connects OK hardwired)
The Connections Status window shows wireless radio not turned on Error Code 16 (even though the radio is on). When I run repair, the error changes to code 9 - no wireless networks in range (even though more than one is in range). I can connect via WinXP wireless mgr with no problem.
Thanks for any help!well i don't have xp on my machine and it is a t61 so what i can assist with is limited. (vista business access connections 5.31) i've reviewd you troubleshooting steps but first i do have to ask since it was a sudden change do you recall installing updates or changeing any settings? if you have it set for automatic backups check to be sure everything is ok there. i wouldn't normaly suggest system restore since it messes with the registry and I'VE seen it do some damage but enymachine and user is different so you can give that a try if you can't at all recall what may have happened. you can find by going to start-->all programs-->accessories-->system tools
but just thinking off the top of my head in the advanced menu under details you change you global settings so that it wont power off the radio in any instance (but probably wont change since you can connect using the windows config) and be sure it is powered on by press fn+f5 along with checking for the wirless switch at the front of your computer, the t41 is a lil oder than mine so it may not have. and along with those drivers that you updated try updating (not uninstalling and reinstalling) the power managment driver. i know when i install my own os it runs a lot better to install you chipset and powermanagement drivers first. (that i i sugges to update and not uninstall) and since its giving an error that it can't power on thats what i can suggest.
p.s. under tools there should be diagnostics to where you can check to see if you enabled the error logging, if yo uhave that might provide further assistance.
p.p.s. i've looked up on a few other topics and it prob makes a difference with xp instead of vista because when selecting which tool to configure your wirless connection can cause an issue. but i mainly see this with older versions of access connecctions. so i guess i good question is if you were able to use windows to view and connect while you were using access connections?

Updated to 5.1 this weekend and lost wifi connectivity on iPhone 4 and Ipad 2
This weekend I updated my iPhone 4 (AT&T) and iPad 2 (Verizon 3G, wifi) to 5.1. Since the update (went flawlessly), I have been unable to connect to wifi networks anywhere. All that I get is the continuously running circle that shows it is trying to connect (but never actually does). I have RESET all Network connections numerous times, did the 'Forget this' connection on everything, etc. They will no longer connect to places that I have always connected to (Home network, CLE Airport, Hilton, Work, etc...). I can connect to all networks fine with my laptop and blackberry, but I just get the constant connection circle with my iPhone and iPad 2. Can anyone offer any other advise?
I have tried:
1. Reboot (Soft)
2. Reboot (Hard (Home and Power button)
3. Forget WiFi connection
4. Reset Network Connections
5. Tried 6 different Wireless (wifi) networks that I have always been able to connect to with no luck.
6. Airplane Mode with wifi on...
7. Turned 3G off...
Desperately awaiting some assistance, I do not have cell connections in our facilities or the hotel, so basically have a useless device right now!I have the same problem with my Ipad 2 16gb WiFi, I bought it in US on march (I don´t live in US) I returned to my country and updated the IOS to 5.1.
One week ago the wifi signal dissapeared, I get the continuously running circle that shows it is trying to connect too.
I tried to reset it, to restart it, I even erase all content and settings but the problem continues.
As you can imagine an Ipad without internet connection is useless, I have opened a case in Apple Technical Support.
All I want to do is to return it
The question is if It will be possible to replace it or change it by other apple product. I will go to US again next month. -
my airport time capsule will no longer allow our iPhones or vizio smart tvs to connect to it, though my iPad air mac mini and mac air connect fine. Why is this? does a recent software update have anything to do with it?
What model is your TC? What is the firmware?
I recommend you do a factory reset and use short names.. not apple recommended names.
Short.. 2-20 characters .. less than 10 even better.
No spaces.
Pure alphanumeric.
Set fixed channels for 2.4ghz wireless.. test with 11, 6, 1 at least.
That often helps.. if not and is old, ie Gen1-4 go back to 7.6.1 firmware which is far more solid. -

I have printed the diagnostic report (HP Network Configuaration Page). There are no error comments on this page.
Under Wireless title, my correct WIFI isted under Network Name; however the status says disconnected.
Under Diagnostic Results title; Connectivty - Connected - PASS
Wireless - ON
Wireless Working - PASS
Signal - Very Good

HP Automatic Wireless Configuration or (HP Auto Wireless Connect) HP printer Wireless Setup, includes Auto Wireless Connect technology that allows connecting the printer to the wireless network automatically without having to connect any cables or enter wireless network settings such as wireless password or id. All new HP printers will have this capability during the software installation process. In some cases computers or the network configurations are compatible with HP Auto Wireless Connect. In these cases, an alternate wireless setup method will be offered. To be compatible with HP Auto Wireless Connect, the following conditions must be met: Your computer uses Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac OS X 10.5 +. Your computer uses a wireless connection to your network and the operating system is in control of the wireless adapter so that the HP Software can retrieve the computer’s current network settings.
