CONNECTING PC SUITE TO PC (NOKIA 6102)

I have installed and uninstalled to many times to count. It's not like it never worked. I managed to get my photos off once. The next time I tried I couldn't get it to connect. I have Win XP, a new Gateway 825 My phone is Nokia 6102 and yes my Cable came with a cd. I have tried both numerous times. Online download and CD. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, still says phone not found.
The following is what came up as I tried to connect again. I am following the instructions word for word. I wait till download is complete, like it is telling me to, before I plug phone into Usb port.
Phone with red x on tool bar after downloading latest Nokia PC Suite from Nokia site. ( 6.80.22) Click the get connected and it says on my phone screen Data enhancement connected and right away says data enhancement not supported.
I have been following the post of uncfingers and your responses and have also done everything you have suggested there.
Waiting you answer
Thanks
Dee

It looks like the port isn't configured correctly (and don't ask me how to do it but I think it did it automatically the first time I attached the cable to the pc). I have the cable connected and then I get two options: CA-42 USB-to-Serial Bridge (COM7) and COM3. Obviously I select the first one. I sometimes get the enhancement not recognised on the phone but I ignore it and it usually connects.
So to repeat, I have the cable connected for the steps above, I then disconnect the cable and click on Get Connected and then follow the instructions when to re-connect the cable and then the phone.

  • PC Suite 6.8 - Nokia 6230 - Connects ok but no Syn...

    Hi.
Finally got 6.8 to install on my Windows Xp SP2 machine.
Had the previous version installed and working ok. Had to uninstall/reinstall several times and use many of the fixes listed on this site to finally get 6.8 installed.
Phone connects via bluetooth ok and I can see files on the phone and transfer them back and forth.
PC Suite main window shows Nokia 6230 connected via Bluetooth.
Select synchronize. PC Sync window opens with Not Connected shown at the top of the form. The Synchronise Now and Settings buttons are greyed out. If I push Select Phone nothing happens.
Anyone any idea what the problem is ?

If you open File Manager in PC Suite and locate your phone at the left panel (you must have folders view in Windows Explorer), scroll to contacts folder under the phone, select update button phone with arrow in the upper area of the file manager window, do you get your contacts updated to PC from the phone ?
Just asking this question to narrow down the problem causes, if you get the contact to File Manager/Nokia Phone Browser, your syncronisation with the phone is propably OK, but the PC Sync application is stuck.
Another thing that may help PC Sync to realise the phone is connected is to open manage connections and untick the bluetooth option and then tick it back.
The is also a separate exit option in PC Sync, if you locate the jingjang symbol from Windows tray(bottom right of your screen)right click the icon you can see exit. Choose that and then reopen PC Sync from PC Suite main view.
OK, opend file manager from PC Suite.
The folder structure I see is
    My Bluetooth places->Entire Blutooth Neighborhood->Nokia 6230->
The only subfolder from this level is OBEX file transfer and below that are graphics,Images,Memory Card, Music files,Recordings,Tones,Video Clips
I don't see any contacts folder.
I can go into the memory card folder, see my music tracks and transfer them back and forth.
    Tried unticking/ticking. Makes no difference
Tried closing/reopening PC Sync, no difference.
If I click on the phone icon Nokia 6230 just below Entire bluetooth neighborhood then the right hand panel shows
Audio Gateway on Nokia 6230 (not connected)
COM1 on Nokia 6230 (not connected)
Dial Up Networking on Nokia 6230
Nokia PC Suite on Nokia 6230 (not connected)
OBEX file transfer on Nokia 6230
OBEX Object Push on Nokia 6230
If I double click Nokia PC Suite on Nokia 6230 it changes to show connected. If I right click on the icon and select status the signal strength shows GOOD, but after a minute or two the phone beeps and the icon changes back to not connected.
I noticed that after open/close PC Synch the first time I am no longer able to select Manage Connections. I have to reboot the machine before Manage connections will work again.
Throughout all of this, the icon in the system tray is saying that the Nokia 6230 is connected via Bluetooth.
Why is this so god damn difficult ??

  • 'Nokia PC Suite' & 'Nokia Ovi Suite' for my Nokia ...

'Nokia Pc Suite' & 'Nokia Ovi Suite' are same softwer?
Bcz my nokia C1-01 have nokia ovi suite, when my computer install Nokia pc suite & connect, then my mobile display show 'nokia ovi suite' & 'mass storage' when click 'nokia ovi suite' can't find my mobile in my computer!
    why??

The USB mode in your Nokia might be called Modem, PC Suite or Nokia Suite, or even Nokia Ovi Suite. In your phone, all these four USB modes are the same.
The PC Suite and the Nokia Suite are two different software titles which can be used in parallel. Furthermore, the Nokia Suite is the successor of (replaced) the Nokia Ovi Suite.
Before you download and install all these software, I recommend to install the latest Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver first.
If that did not help, please, plug-in your Nokia, select that Suite mode, and go to to Windows » Start » Contol Panel (» Hardware » Devices) » Device-Manager » USB » right-click on your Nokia » Update Driver Software. Did that help?

  • How do I change to PC Suite Mode in Nokia 6680?

    Hello,
when connecting my Nokia 6680 to a Computer, it doesn't ask me to select a connection mode. However, there is a program that obviously needs me to select PC Suite Mode or Nokia Mode.
Since I didn't find an option for that in the phone, can someone tell me if it's possible to change to PC Suite Mode?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Nokia Suite Support for Nokia 301

    Hello
Does anyone know what the official Nokia position is regarding Nokia Suite supporting the Noklia 301?  I'd like to be able to sync music, install any future firmware upgrades etc etc without needing to use a mobile data connection.  If Nolkia aren;t going to upgrade Nokia Suite to support the 301 is there going to be an alternative?

To all members of this board that purchased Nokia 301 Dual SIM here's what you should know.
     1. Nokia Suite http://www.nokia.com/nokiasuite  is practically useless
You cannot backup your messages and contacts . (see attached screenshot stuck at 50%)
You cannot sync your calendar and contacts to OUTLOOK
You cannot choose what SIM you'll send after you compose SMS at Nokia Suite
You cannot backup your ALL your contacts. There is a feature that you can export to CSV but it's not complete. The numbers that are saved in your phone will not be exported via CSV.
Buttomline. Just use the backup feature of your phone. And save it on your SD card. I'm now looking a buyer of this phone. Perhaps I'll just buy a cheap android phone that I can sync calendars and contacts.

  • PC Suite Notifications Problem (Nokia 6110 Navigat...

    Hi,
I have a Nokia 6110 Navigator and i have just installed the latest version of PC Suite. I've been using PC Suite for a long time and of course i installed PC Suite Support to my phone a long time ago. While I was installing the new PC suite, the installer said the PC Suite support that is installed on my phone was old and i had to install the new PC Suite support to use new notifications feature. I installed PC Suite properly and it's working very well. But in the Help menu, i can't click the option "install PC suite support" (or something), it says "Please reinstall PC Suite". I reinstalled it, but that option is still disabled. Can you please help me?
    Best regards,
    Temmuz
    (sorry for my poor English)

    Hi temmuzk,
On your phone menu > Settings > Data Manager > Application Manager... Look for MMSSync has got installed on your phone.  If it is installed already, no need to worry.  If not, Connect your phone using USB select PC Suite mode, open Nokia Communication Centre, if MMSSync was not installed on your phone, it will ask you to install this on your phone.  I guess you have already installed this on your phone.
If you have any clarifications on PC Suite notifications you can view this post

We cannot help if you don't give us the error number that you get.
Also something that you might want to do is to search this error number on OTN.

Configure the net configuration for both 9idb and 9ids in the same way. Make sure the TNSlisner is started.

  • Nokia 6102 sync

I purchased a new Nokia 6102i and it syncs perfectly with isync through the bluetooth port. Now I type in all my phone numbers in "Address Book" and all my appointments in "iCal" and synchronize these to my cell phone and if it ever gets lost or destroyed all my contacts will be in my computer and not lost forever.
Anyone having problems with thier Nokia?
    imac g5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I think the problem is in the numbers type, change that into types your X2 could accept, no "Home mobile" and so for example, you can do that from the Ovi suite before syncing... This happened also to me, my X3-02 just ignored the phone numbers with special types that I've created using the Ovi suite itself!
Nokia should add something to the Ovi suite so it converts these incompatible types into a standard one before syncing.

  • No connection between Asha 311 and Nokia Suite.

A few months ago i could connect my nokia asha 311 to nokia suite (windows 7). Then one day it suddenly stopped connecting but i didn't care because i didn't need it.
Now i have problems with software and need to reinstall the S40 OS, but i can't do it if my cellphone cannot connect through cable.
I tried linking the USB connection to a virtual machine (windows xp on virtual box) with nokia suite and it works fine for syncing contacts and messages. But the problem comes when I reinstall the OS, because USB needs to auto connect and disconnect, and it can't do it if there's a virtual machine controlling the port.
I've installed the Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and it doesn't work.
    Thanks for your help!
PD: Sorry for my english, I speak spanish.

    Hi NicoVial,
You can try to uninstall and reinstall the Nokia Suite from your computer. You can download it from this link: http://www.nokia.com/es-es/soporte/producto/nokia-suite/ and then try to connect again the phone to the computer and do the updating.
Let us know what will be the outcome for this.

  • Ovi Suite 3.0, Nokia 6303i, can't sync anything.

    Hi!
I have Nokia 6303i. I have updated Ovi Suite to the 3.0 version and now I can't sync anything on it. With ovi suite 2.0 I had no such problems.
Ovi Suite 3.0 does recognise my phone. I have 'PC Suite' mode selected on my phone, but when I click synchronise in Ovi Suite it reports a massage like this:
"Change your device USB mode to Ovi Suite mode (or PC Suite)" - even when I set "PC Suite" mode on my phon manually...
    Any help appreciated!
    Solved!

    Hi zielak666 ,
I am not sure whether this will solve your problrm but you could try this once.
    1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
    3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
    4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
    5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
    6. Restart the computer if prompted.
    7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and Ovi suite 3.0.0.284(hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.
Please THANK me by clicking on the ****WHITE STAR** ( Giving KUDOS) the big GREEN BOX to your LEFT .

How did you save the messages in Nokia Suite ? Were they synced and currently visible in the Nokia Suite? If yes, after connecting the phone, select them and Drag-and-Drop to the corresponding folder at the bottom next to the phone icon ..

  • Nokia PC Suite - problem ejecting Nokia 5310 Xpres...

I just got myself a brand-new Nokia 5310 XpressMusic phone. I like the phone and am very satisfied with it.
    However I have a problem.
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Nokia PC Suite from the website.
I then can connect (via the USB-cable) and work with PC Suite without a problem but when I want to disconnect the phone in the correct way and click the "Disconnect USB" button next to the Windows clock in the task-bar the warning message that can be seen in this link shows up after about 3-4 seconds:
    http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m311/safesite/nokia_cannot_be_stopped.jpg
I have checked the task-manager but can't see any Nokia program running anymore (unless I overlooked something).
    So now my question is...
How do I fix this and is it harmful to my phone or pc if I keep pulling out the cable after this message appears (since I don't have much choice if I want to use the phone)?
Maybe, it's necessary to mention that I run XP SP3, completely updated on a brand-new pc with high-end grade hardware, fully protected with antivirus, firewall etc., no malware-detections at all and that I have so far not experienced any problems with neither pc nor phone meaning that whatever I did (transfers of files, uploads, sending sms etc.) worked until now to satisfaction.

Hi shirazworld and thanks for your post.
Do I understand your post right this way...
You are saying that if I run PC Suite and disconnect the phone without transferring files in that moment or committing any other action that requires data-flow between the phone and the pc I'll be okay.
    Is that correctly understood?
I don't know what you meant by "Nokia Mode" and don't understand the difference between "USB Transfer Mode" and "Mass Storage Mode". Is there any???
Finally, what is the story with the error-message that keeps coming every time I try to disconnect the phone in system tray via the icon? It shouldn't be there now should it???
    Looking forward to your answer.
