Connecting Samsung Internet TV wirelessly or hard...

Have tried to hardwire and wirelessly connect my samsung tv to my home hub 3.0. I have tried to use wps to connect, to set up with auto settings and to set up manually.
I have chosen a 192.168.1.200 as my tv's ip address, subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, Gateway: 192.168.1.254
I have used the gateway as DNS Server and have also tried the primary DNS number found under Broadband heading in BT Home Hub.
On the tv after network set up, in the network test: mac address is fine, ip address, subnet, gateway, dns server are fine; gateway ping fails. It says 'Not connected to the gateway...
Any ideas please

Try using a static IP address outside of the home hubs DHCP range.

  • Cannot connect to internet using wireless airport on my iMAC

I am running Leopard on my iMac and less than a week ago I was able to connect to the internet by wireless airport express. Now it says that my airport is working and connected but when I open Safari, I only get a partial url load and then it freezes and eventually after about 3-5 minutes it gives me a "You are not connected to the internet". I recently installed updates and I believe that after that is when it stopped working. After hours of troubleshooting research on the internet, I've tried creating a new network, editing the location from Automatic to a new one, simply shutting down and unplugging for a couple of minutes and plugging back in and rebooting for example and nothing has worked. Does anybody have any thoughts that could help me get back up and running again?
    Thanks!

Even though your profile does NOT show you updated to 10.5.2 I suspect you did by the way you are talking. The problem with 10.5.2 is in an extension file ( which is really a folder ) it is the root to the wi-fi problems. I will be posting a fix 1-2 days. In the mean time you should download a program called Pacifist Vers. 2.5.2. The trial version will work but I suggest you pay the $20 shareware because he earn it and if my feelings are correct about Apple you will need it again.

  • Can't connect to internet via wireless

I am unable to connect to the internet via wireless on a consistent basis I can ping my router every time though. When the internet works it seems to be completely random. I tried some fixes posted on the forums for problems similar to mine like, setting my default gateway and using open dns servers, but neither of those fixes seemed to help with my set up. Any ideas?
My wireless card uses the Ralink rt 2760 chipset. Thanks

What are the characteristics of the wireless networks to which you are trying to connect?
    Are they managed or ad-hoc?
    Are they WEP?
    Are they WPA?
If the link is encrypted but the NIC isn't, the NIC will associate with the network and a ping will work, but any packet containing actual data (like a DHCP request, any TCP or UDP request, SNMP, etc... ) will fail.
As a quick test, if you have administrative rights to your access point, turn off WEP and WPA and see if you can connect.  I advise you turn encryption back on when you are done with the experiment.

  • Unable to connect to internet using Wireless WPA after installing XP SP3

    Hi guys,
Just installled XP SP3 on my X40 and now I cannot connect to a WPA wireless network.  I have updated the drivers etc but still no luck.
Has anyone else got this problem and been able to fix it.
I'm sure that if I uninstalled SP3 then it would work but I'd rather get a fix.
Message Edited by mundo on 08-13-2008 12:57 PM

I, too, am unable to get a good "connected" session with WPA.
I have tried Windows Wireless:  stays in the mode: "Authenticating."
I have tried Intel Proset Wireless: stays in the mode: "Connecting."
I have tried Access Connections: stops after saying "Waiting for association."
These different programs allow me to set up WPA profiles, and they see wireless networks and can communicate with them.
    I am on a Thinkpad T-42 (2373-Y3U).  Intel adapter 2200bg.  Windows XP Pro, SP3.
I have tried WEP, and it works fine.  Other computers connect to (multiple, different) routers with WPA that I have tried, to no avail.
I loaded latest Intel driver (file name: 7vwc15ww.exe, dated July 29, 2008).  But does not work...
I have tried going back to old drivers, but does not work. I have tried the steps: unload driver, load HotKey, Load PowerManagement, Load Access Connections, as described elsewhere, but does not work.
Why is this so hard.  Should be a no - brainer, it seems to me.  I've spent hours...
     Thanks, Todd

  • Connecting the internet via wireless

    Hi,
I have a four month old mac book pro and a linksys router with no password on it..
When I go to school or to my other house I can connect to wireless effortlessly but just lately when I am at home I cannot get on the internet. I have a full signal and it says I'm connected but safari says I'm not connected to the internet. I remember the girl on the phone did something about obtaining an ip automatically but I can't really remmeber
the network status says im connected but i have a self assigned ip address and may not be able to connect to internet
    thanks for your help guys

Open System Preferences/Network and select Airport, click the TCP/IP button and check what's set for 'Configure IPv4 using'
It should say 'Using DHCP', if not select that and hit the 'Apply' button and see what it comes back with ?

  • Connecting Samsung BD-C6500 wireless DVD to WRT160N v2 router

The Samsung device connects to the router but WILL NOT connect to the internet saying that the HTTP port is blocked. HTTP port is not blocked in the router as best I can tell. I have upgraded the firmware and reset to factory defaults. My TIVO and two wireless computers all connect to the internet just fine.
I had one Samsung DVD player that initially connected via the router. It downloaded info and  I watched Netflix movies. then it stopped connecting and when I attempted to reconfigure the IP, DNS, etc it started giving me this type of error. I replaced the player with a new one but I get the same" HTTP blocked" error message...this player also initially appeared to connect to the internet but then stopped moments later. ISP says there are no problems on their end. Samsung says its the router or the ISP not their machine.
    HELP

Well if you are getting that error message on your Samsung DVD Player then you can try to open the HTTP Port on your router an check if its working or not.
To open the ports on your Router, you need to login to the setup page of your Router and click on the Application and Gaming tab and below under "Port Forwarding"
Application Name               Start Port              End Port                  Protocol              IP Address                             Enable
Samsung                                 80                         80                            BOTH        IP of Samsung DVD Player          Enable.
    And click on Save Settings...
Once are done then unplug the power from the router and modem, wait for 30sec and then first plug the power to the modem and once all the lights are lid on the Modem then you can plug the power to the Linksys Router.
Now you can check if you are getting the same error message on your Samsung DVD Player.

  • Need help connecting to internet with wireless card

I am currently able to connect 4 Mac laptops and 1 G5 desktop to my Airport Extreme without any problems. I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 with a Dell Truemobile 1400 Dual Band WLAN Mini-PCI card that recognizes my AE and connects to it, but I can't get it to connect to the internet. I've tried using the internet connection setup wizard for an isp with username and password but it wants to configure a dialup connection. I've tried just double-clicking on my Internet Explorer icon but it won't connect. I know I've overlooked something(s) but I would like to know if there a procedure that someone can walk me through to get connected. I've also tried using a Belkin USB wireless adapter which also recognizes the Airport, but I still can't get connected. Any help would be greatley appreciated. Steve

What "bands" does a Truemobile 1400 Dual Band WLAN Mini-PCI card support? 802.11a/b or 802.11b/g ?
Start Menu -> Run -> cmd -> ipconfig
Are you getting a valid IP address for your private LAN ?

  • Connected to network but can't connect to internet using wireless

Hi, I just installed a Linksys WRT 45G and can connect my pc and my laptop to it and use the internet fine when I use ethernet cable, but if I try to use my laptop wirelessly I can't connect to the internet.  It says that I am connected to my network and that strength signal is excellent but no internet connection.  I have that bluetooth button on the front of the laptop turned on.  The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite with Centrino.  I was told that I don't need to buy a wireless card as the Centrino already does this.  Thanks in advance for your help.

I think you can try to update the firmware of the router, to check if that stops connection dropping. To update the firmware of router try this: 1. Go to www.linksys.com/download and select correct model number and version number. Download the firmware and save it on your computer. 2. Check the file it sould be firmware image file like .bin etc. If it is a compressed zip file extract it to get firmware image file. 3. Open setup page of router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in browser’s address bar, and typing password as "admin" and no user name. 4. Go to administartion tab there 5. Go to fimware update sub-tab there 6. Browse for the firmware image file and click update 7. when update completes turn off modem & router. 8. After 2 minutes turn on modem and after 2 more minutes turn on router. To get network key, connect your computer to one of the four ports on router using ethernet cable. 1. Open setup page of router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in browser’s address bar, and typing password as "admin" and no user name. Use your password if you have changed it earlier 2. Go to wireless tab. 3. Go to wireless security sub-tab 4. If security mode is wpa or wpa2 note down passphrase/shared key, if security mode is WEP note down wep key number 1. This will be your network key Well you need to input all the wireless settings of your wireless network on Wii. To get these settings: 1. Open setup page of router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in browser’s address bar, and typing password as "admin" and no user name. 2. Goto wireless tab. Here you will get the wireless network name/SSID. Here make sure wireless SSID broadcast is enabled. 3. Now goto wireless security sub-tab and here you will get the security mode and the security key. If security type is WPA note passphrase/shared key, and if its WEP note down wep encryption level and key 1 from listed 4 keys

If I understand you correctly you will input the encryption key via the linsys monitor software on your wireless computer.
open the linsys monitor on your computer
highlight the network name that you want to connect to
    click edit
and just follow the steps and input the info of which one will be the key

  • Connecting to internet from wireless phone?

Hello there - i have a friend that uses some sort of data type thing to connect her laptop (which is PC) to the internet. Does anybody know if this is possible to do with a macbook pro?
I am trying to find a more economical way to get internet without too much cost-
thanks for anybody who can give info on this-

    belovedjs,
To connect your Macbook Pro to the internet, you must have an unlimited data plan, regardless of the method you use. Unlimited plans are not "economical," by any stretch of the imagination.
All the carriers provide these plans at $60/month, as long as you also have a voice plan. Without a voice plan, the unlimited data packages run $80/month. That's pricey.
Carriers provide wireless "connection cards" to accompany these plans, for a fee. Depending on the carrier, the plan, and the length of the additional contract you must sign, these cards can be anywhere from $79 to around $300. Cards come in the form of Expresscard-34 adapters (which will work with your Macbook Pro), or USB "dongles" that provide the same functionality. Another method to connect is via a Bluetooth or USB (or both) phone that supports "phone-as-modem." Generally speaking, this method is slower, with more complications, than using a connection card, but it does work to provide a broadband connection.
Speaking economically, the best option available is the one offered by Sprint. They have embraced "phone-as-modem," and provide unlimited data access, using your phone, for only $40/month (in addition to the mandatory voice plan). That's the best deal going.
When and where it is available, Sprint's network is solid and fast. Verizon's provides more wide-spread and comprehensive coverage, but you don't get the break when using phone-as-modem. Cingular's coverage is relatively wide-spread, but is slower than the others.

  • ITunes content not visible when connected to internet via wireless

I have been having problems with my Apple TV. It did not show any iTunes Store content. After some considerable attempts at reconfiguration, I finally restored to factory settings and I still could not connect to the internet via my airport extreme wireless network. I therefore ran an ethernet cable instead and all the itunes store content appeared and I was able to sync with my Macbook Pro. I then looked at the network configeration using the ethernet recorded the settings and took the cable out. Then reconnected using the wireless connection, initally it could not connect to the internet but then I went through the manual connection and set the settings using DCHP and it then connected but once again there is no iTunes store content, if I reconnect the iTune store content comes back as does the uTube and internet radio both of which also disappear if I try and go wireless. Any thoughts?

are you connecting to the same router for the ethernet and wireless connections?

  • Slow initial connection to internet via wireless router

    Hi,
I have a D-Link Xtreme N 450 wireless router that I used with a MacBook Pro running 10.9.3.  When I first open the computer, the internet quickly connects (I can surf, get email, etc), but after a few seconds it disconnects, searches for a wireless router, and then gives me the exclamation point in the wireless icon.  It stays down for a 1-3 minutes, then mysteriously reconnects.  I've looked everywhere for a solution and cannot seem to find one.  I ran wireless diagnostics and got one error message that may be the problem - it says a nearby wireless router has the wrong country code and could be causing problems.  But has anyone else had this issue or think they know of a potential solution?
    Thanks!

am in the DFW area using Verizon Fios - I have a D-Link DIR-655 router and a 24" Imac running Mac OS X 10.5.1. I purchased the Apple Airport router thinking the problem with internet speed might be my router. This was not the case - every computer in the house was much slower using the Airport - so I returned it to my Apple store.
I have now switched off the bluetooth and airport on my Mac - it is hooked straight into the router and every day at about 6:00 it slows down to turtle speed while my other 2 laptops that are wireless in the house and much older - are lightening fast.
I have called Verizon and had them out - they say there are not enough people on Fios to create any traffic problems at certain times of the day - which I believe being that the Apple Imac is the only computer with the problem.
I have downloaded Firefox and have the exact same problem.
There has got to be some solution for this - my speed checks out very fast during this time - T2 speed for download and upload - I'm ready to throw this apple out the window.

  • VMware Fusion with XP no longer connects to internet or wireless printer

I have an IMAC 24" with 4 GB of memory and an intel based platform. Could a recent apple software update (seem to remember ITunes & a security update) on my windows xp virtual machine operated by vmare fusion have caused my internet and networked wireless printer to no longer work? For two years everything fine and now the Windows side says: This machine doesn't have any installed network adapters. The required network device drivers may have not been installed. Of course, not being able to go on the internet from the windows side, I cannot download any drivers.
Internet and printer work fine on mac side. Using Snow Leopard OS, 2.8 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB Memory. I have to send PC only information over the internet and cannot, so very frustrating. I cannot even print the information. Please advise.
    Please help!

Since Fusion is not made by Apple you should really post your question on VMWare's own forums as Apple discussions only provide support for Apple products:
