Connecting Samsung mobile to Mac

Hello,
Wasn't sure where to post this as it's a long shot but does anyone know how we can connect my sons new Samsung monte mobile to one of our macs, the software supplied is Windows only & we have no pc's. We have I phones but i didn't want to buy my 12 year old a very expensive phone so the Samsung seemed a good option. We can obviously connect it with the USB cable but our Macs do not recognise it, presumably because the correct driver is not installed. Is there a way round it ?

Yes, I did that. They have uppgrades for the dongles, but just untill Mac Os 10.7. Their solution is to buy a new modem from them or getting one for free if I sign a contract for 24 months! So, i think from that side not very helpful.
It is just that I do not want to buy a new modem, when it works in quite recent computers and after having spent money in the new Mac.

Last week I bought MacBook Pro notes and Samsung Galaxy 3 mobile.I have Installed OSX V 10.8.2 and Windiws 7.
I'm able to connect Samsung Galaxy S3 when i login to Windows 7 and able to transfer files.
The problem is I'm not able to connect Samsung Galaxy S3 moble when I login to Mac OS I insalled Kies and Android File Transfer softwares and tried .Stll not able to connect and not able to copy files into mac .
Could you please help me to resolve this problem ..Thank you in advance..

You'll have to take the issue up with Samsung etc., why their software is not working.

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

Problem connecting Samsung Galaxy SII to Mac book Pro

Hello. I have issue with connecting Samsung Galaxy SII to Mac book Pro Late 2011! When i connect phone to Mac via usb, phone makes sound but nothing happens. Even if i open Transfet tool. Problem is not in Phone or wire as on another computers like my MinMac it works fine. Also on Windows side all is ok. Mac book Pro USB ports also are ok as it finds and open my iPhone5! Is there possibility that there is some faults with USB drivers in Mac book Pro! How can i reset or restart usb drivers if fault is there! What else you can suggest to try?

Most Samsung phones are not compatible with iSync, not because of Apple, but because Samsung have not bothered to implement the industry standard SyncML protocol in most of their phones.
Currently there are two Samsung phones which are compatible with iSync natively, plus a few more via plugins.
Before buying a phone you should always check out Apple iSync Supported Devices page, or a third-party plugin provider such as Feisar or Novamedia, if syncing is important to you.

How do I get Lion machine 10.7.2 to connect to Mobile Me? I need my calendars, etc.

I bought a new Lion IMac 10.7.2 and moved over everything it could from my 10.5.8 Imac machine by using target mode since the two migration assistants didn't want to talk to each other.. But it did not move over my addresses, calendar, mail preferences, etc. Apparently Lion 10.7.2 won't connect to Mobile Me (but 10.7.0 and 10.7.1 could). I thought I had till June to move over! I need to keep some of my machines non-Lion because we have developed a ton of software over the years that won't run under Lion. We are upgrading now but it will take a long time to redo all our Director apps. I use IDisk every day to move files from my office machine to my home machine to my laptop to my remote office. This forced march to Lion will really kill my productivity if I can't use iDisk and if I have to archive all my calendar and address files and usb stick them over. I spent an hour and a half with customer service on the phone but he couldn't help me. I asked him point blank "I can see easily all the things I'm losing by going from MobileMe to ICloud. What am I gaining new that I didn't have before?". His answer: "just that it's free". He added "I can suggest some third-party paid solutions for you". He was nice but it didn't solve my problem. Already my iPhone and my iPad are no longer syncing with my Tiger and Snow Leopard machines - I guess they have left me behind. My iPhone shows an old calendar and old address book and my iPad 2's calendar and address book, like my new Imac, is empty. I've never known Apple to be so inconsiderate of their users that for some reason or another can not upgrade. (oh yeah, when you start up your new machine and it asks you if you want to transfer, do it THEN. Even though it says you can transfer later, it didn't want to do it without creating a new user and then we had to move everything over manually, fix permissions, HORRIBLE!) I've now wasted 8 hours on this migration and I give up. I'm still going to use my 10.5.8 and 10.6.8 machines untill I'm forced to abandon iDisk. Forcing you to change ALL your machines to Lion is not reasonable when you have some older, but still very capabile, machines that just can't handle the overhead. Anyone else manage to solve this problem? (Maybe my trouble is that I wanted to change the short_name on my new machine from a different short_name on my old machine?)

How do you back up? If you never bought a Mac how would you have backed up? Maybe read a book.
How do you use a compatibility chart? Why don't you check it out first before asking the question?
Rather than wishing you had never bought a Mac, think seriously about whether you're up to even owning any computer.

Did you Samsung TV come with a USB WiFi modem? All the new models do. You need to plug this into one of the USB port on your Samsung TV.
As for your Airport Express, it can only create a Wireless (WiFi) network for you, it does not have any Ethernet ports as you already know. @Bob is correct that the USB port on the Airport Express only supports compatible printers; for sharing the printer on your network.
Do NOT connect the TV via wired Ethernet to your modem supplied by your broadband provider (ISP). That's because you need to "dial up" to your ISP, if you do not have another router than the Airport Express, then the Airport Express is doing this for you.
So if your TV did not come with a USB WiFi modem then you may want to contact Samsung to see if you get get one. BTW if you live in the US Samsung is available on Twitter (@samsungservice

Connecting Samsung Mythic to Macbook

I recently got a macbook and was trying to connect my samsung mythic cell phone to it, to transfer photos, add music, and such. I was able to pair my phone with the mac, but i couldn't figure out how to connect it to my mac, to transfer files and whatnot.
I got to a bluetooth setup assistant that asked me my phone's vendor and model, as well as a username and password. I'm stuck.
Can anyone help?

I can't get my Samsung Convey (phone) to send photos to my MacBook Pro. It shoes up as a device in the phones Bluetooth Menu, and I can send a name card or a calendar event but I cannot send photos.
To send photos you go to a separate folder, the pictures folder, and the problem is getting the device to show up and stay there. It will show up but not stay as a device.
I called Samsung and was told "we don't support Macintosh computers, call Apple." They'll support a transfer to a Windows machine, but not an Apple machine.
So, anyone here want to help me?
The laptop sees the phone when I try to pair that way. The phone sees the laptop for sending other things, but it won't pair for sending photos....

Time Machine Can't find Drive connected to other networked Mac

I have a Drobo external drive array connected by firewire to my primary home computer - a Mac Pro.
For the last year I've backed up two Macbook Pros (mine and my wife's) to this Drobo using Time Machine (The Mac Pro is always on and the laptops backup through the home network, through the Map Pro, to the Drobo).
I recently did a fresh reinstall of Lion to all 3 computers. Now for some reason Time Machine can't kick the backup off. It gives me a "Can't backup - the backup drive us not available," or something like that.
A couple of key points:
* Through the primary computer, I have opened read/write file sharing permissions for all drives, including the FW connected Drobo
* From the laptops, I can see and read/write to the Drobo through Finder
* Through Time Machine preferences, I can select the Drobo as a backup destination - it's only when I kick off the backup that I run into the error.
* If I create a test admin account to try, I get the same problem when trying to back up.
* As a safegard, I have run a manual backup successfully to a separate external drive (mobile g-drive)
What am I missing? Seems like it's gotta be something straightforward - perhaps on the laptop?

Okay - I gave it a shot - no dice - here's a screenshot -
Couple of interesting things (at least to me and my limited knowledge...):
* the reset of Time Machine seemed to reset how my laptop connected to the primary computer - defaulted to connecting through AppleID rather than Administrator
* Perhaps I'm using wrong Admin credentials in my File Sharing preferences?
* When I connect to the main Mac Pro ("connect as...") with Admin credentials...though I see the drives and can read/write, it still shows a "connection failed" message above. sending one other screenshot to show you.
