Connecting Samsung s4 to MacBook

I am trying to connect my Samsung s4 to the computer and it says the device is not installed.
Someone told me to download KiesMac but from there onwards I'm lost.
Does Apple support Samsung? Can I add my phone to this computer?
If so, how?
Thank you!

As I said the S4 should show up in a Finder windows as an external drive. From where you can browse through the folder and files on the Android device. In the Finder Preferences make sure you have External drives checked in the Sidebar and General areas.

  • Cannot connect Samsung HDTV to Macbook pro (late 2011)

I just bought a Samsung HDTV and would like to connect it to my Macbook pro from late 2011 running lion. I have both the adapter and the hdmi cable. The hdmi cable is plugged into the tv. When I try to change the source on the tv to hdmi it says no device found. I have tried turning both the tv and laptop off and then plugging in the cable, then turning on the tv then computer. The computer does not recognize that anything is plugged into it either. When I go to system preferences: display, it does not recognize the tv.
    HELP!!!!

After clicking detect displays I assume and mirroring is checked.
Try a NVRAM reset see if that helps.
Leave it connected to the TV w/TV on, power off the MBP and power it on holding the following keys:
COMMAND+OPTION+P+R hold till before the start chime and continue to hold til you hear the start chime 2 times, then release. Reboot.

  • Connecting Samsung Mythic to Macbook

I recently got a macbook and was trying to connect my samsung mythic cell phone to it, to transfer photos, add music, and such. I was able to pair my phone with the mac, but i couldn't figure out how to connect it to my mac, to transfer files and whatnot.
I got to a bluetooth setup assistant that asked me my phone's vendor and model, as well as a username and password. I'm stuck.
    Can anyone help?

I can't get my Samsung Convey (phone) to send photos to my MacBook Pro. It shoes up as a device in the phones Bluetooth Menu, and I can send a name card or a calendar event but I cannot send photos.
To send photos you go to a separate folder, the pictures folder, and the problem is getting the device to show up and stay there. It will show up but not stay as a device.
I called Samsung and was told "we don't support Macintosh computers, call Apple." They'll support a transfer to a Windows machine, but not an Apple machine.
So, anyone here want to help me?
The laptop sees the phone when I try to pair that way. The phone sees the laptop for sending other things, but it won't pair for sending photos....

  • Connect Samsung Continuumm to Macbook Pro

I am trying to connect my Samsung Continuum android to my macbook pro via USB so that I may copy files from the phone to the mac.
I have enabled "Mass storage" under the USB settings on the phone
I have also enabled USB debugging on the phone.
The Macbook Pro is running OS X 10.6.7
The mac has 2 USB ports, I have tried both of them with no success.
I have no removable drives on the mac.
The phone has an 8gb memory card.
When I plug in the phone to the computer, an icon appears on the desktop entitled "Verizon Mobile". This icon is a folder that contains 4 files. After about 10 seconds or so, the icon disappears. The files are Autorun.inf, ToolLauncher-Bootstrap.exe, ModelName.txt, Samsung_Model_USB_Driver.exe. These are obviously windows files and of no use here.
Then I pull the notification bar on phone home screen and tap on USB connected.
I get the choice of "Mount" or "Don't Mount"
    I choose Mount
Then a message pops up saying:
"The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer"
    with buttons:
    "Initialize …" "Ignore" "Eject"
    I choose Ignore.
Nothing happens, I might expect to see an icon appear on the desktop, but nothing.
and I don't see anything, though. Under my "Macintosh HD" - DEVICES, it is not listed.
I  restart the Mac without disconnecting the USB cable, but the phone still does not appear.
How can I solve this problem?

After clicking detect displays I assume and mirroring is checked.
Try a NVRAM reset see if that helps.
Leave it connected to the TV w/TV on, power off the MBP and power it on holding the following keys:

  • Connect samsung phone to macbook

What app is available to connect a Samsung Galaxy S III with a MacPro?

Sadly none at all.   http://www.markspace.com/ is working on a solution, but it is partly problematic since Apple got rid of sync services in Mac OS X 10.9.

  • Connecting my Late 2009 Macbook to a Samsung Series 5 TV

So I'm trying to connect my Late 2009 Macbook upto my Series 5 Samsung TV and I've stumbled across a bit (a lot!) of difficulty.
I have the picture coming through perfectly on my MiniDisplayport to HDMI connection but I can't for the life of me work out how to get the sound through as well. I have literally every cable at my disposal at the minute, RCA to audio, optical with a TOSlink connector and a standard 3.5mm audio cable. I assumed the optical to TOSlink connector would be my best option but no such look, I've tried every combination I can think of. Whenever I connect the TOSlink connector in, the sound icon greys out immediately and my TV doesn't appear in the Output list.
I'm really hoping somebody would be able to help me out, I'm fast running out of options, something I thought might be a good idea is quickly turning into a bit of a pain...

The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
Check your TV manual though to see if it might have audio plugs that work with one of the HDMI ports. You attach it from the headphone jack of your MacBook to the appropriate audio input plugs on your TV.
If you have the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody or Late 2009 model 6,1 White Unibody with the Mini DisplayPort rather than the Mini-DVI there is an adapter that uses the Mini DisplayPort and a USB port to combine video and audio to HDMI. It's only 2 channel stereo not 5.1 Dolby Surround.

you can run through this to see if it's your Mac that's a issue after that

  • HDMI from Samsung 24" to macbook quality issue

    Hi,
I have a new samsung 24". I have connected it to my macbook with a HDMI cable. It works fine but it has a very grainy picture and looks nothing like my screen on my MB.
    thanks in advance

Does the Samsung also have a DVI input? You might have better luck with that.

  • Issue with camera it says "there is no connected camera" in may macbook pro

issue with camera it says "there is no connected camera" in may macbook pro

I got that error from PhotoBooth, no connected camera.
After messing around with all the usual suggestions (reset PRAM, repair permissions, etc.), I tried plugging in an external USB camera (happened to be a ProScope) and - for no apparent reason - the internal iSight camera sprang to life and has been working fine ever since.
Worth a try - any USB camera should do it.

  • How can I connect my early 2008 MacBook Pro to a tv through HDMI?

I was wondering if there is a way to connect my early 2008 MacBook Pro to a tv using an HDMI port. My MacBook Pro has a DVI output. In the past I bought a DVI to VGA adapter and connected it to a TV that had a PC input that took VGA and a 3.5mm audio cable. I was wondering if anybody has found an adapter or cable that takes a DVI and 3.5 mm audio cord and has only an HDMI cord at the other end. I have a new TV that only has HDMI inputs and would like to be able to connect my laptop to it.

Since you have not identified exactly what MBP you have, but mention DVI, I suspect a cable such as this is what you will need.
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/380694416929?lpid=82
Understand that 2009 MBPs and earlier do not support audio via DVI or minidisplay port.  You would have to tap the audio output port  with a cable such as this:
    http://http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=691009&Q=&is=REG&A =details
I am not endorsing these cable specifically, these are just examples that represent what connections that are required.
    Ciao.

  • How do connect my late 2008 Macbook to a TV?

I want to connect my late 2008 Macbook aluminum to a tv by HDMI, and i was thinking about getting the "Moshi Mini DP to HDMI Adapter with Audio Support" but it will not support audio for my Mac. Any other way I can connect it to the TV?

If you connect the MacBook using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo sound system if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI. But check your TV manual to see if it has audio plugs that work with one of the HDMI ports.
With the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody there is an adapter that uses the Mini DisplayPort and a USB port to combine video and audio to HDMI. It's only 2 channel stereo not 5.1 Dolby Surround.

  • Help Connect my Mid-2009 Macbook Pro to my new YAMAKASI CATLEAP Q270 SE 27" LED 2560X1440 WQHD DVI-D Dual Computer Monitor

    Hi,
I am trying to connect my Mid-2009 Macbook Pro to my new YAMAKASI CATLEAP Q270 SE 27" LED 2560X1440 WQHD DVI-D Dual Computer Monitor.  I am not having a lot of luck.
    My machine:
    OS: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Processor:  2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
I am trying to connect it using the:
Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter
    DVD-D HDMI cable
YAMAKASI CATLEAP Q270 SE 27" LED 2560X1440 WQHD DVI-D Dual
    (http://www.ebay.com/itm/150788045871?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m149 7.l2649#ht_16597wt_877)
    Here is what is happening.
    1. I connect the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter + HDMI Cable to Monitor
    2. Main monitor powers up like it is trying to display
    3. Laptop Monitor displays second part of desktop
    4. I can never get the Yamakasi to display a picture
Here is what I have tried:
    1. Different HDMI-D cables
    2. ATLONA AT-DP400 Dual Link DVI to Mini Display Port Converter
    3. Zapping the P-Ram
    4. Powering monitor with laptop closed
    5. Forcing the system to see the second monitor
    The nearest I can figure:
    - The laptop does see the catsleap (it displays resolutions I can set it to)
I am completely stumped, I was hoping someone could advise me.
    Thanks,
    Don

    Hey Kytarx,
I found the winning combination this weekend.
    I tried:
    - Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter
    - ATLONA AT-DP400 Dual Link DVI to Mini Display Port Converter
    - Monoprice Mini DisplayPort | Thunderbolt® to HDMI®, DVI & DisplayPort Adapter
    My experience:
    - Altona didn't work at all, and their support claimed it would not.
    - Monoprice didn't work to Dual DVI, it did work to HDMI (great price I wish it did)
    - Apple Mini Displayport adapter did work, but would only work with certain USB + Display port combos.
The thing that was tripping me up was that two of the Dual DVI-D cords were bad.  Once I found the working cord, it was easier to find the working adapter.  The experience I did find to be a frustrating / expensive one. However, the Monitor itself is beautiful.
    Hopefully this helps someone else..
    Don

  • How do I connect my mid-2009 Macbook pro to my HDMI television and get sound?

How do I connect my mid-2009 Macbook pro to my HDMI television and get sound?

Use a mini-Displayport-to-HDMI adapter and a standard HDMI cable to connect the computer to the proper HDMI port on your computer — the one that is paired with the separate RCA audio inputs (see the TV's manual for this information). And connect the headphone port on your MBP to those inputs with a cable that has a 1/8' stereo headphone plug on one end and two RCA plugs on the other. You'll also need to select the proper HDMI input in the TV's menu system, and you may have to select the headphone port as the audio output in the Sound pane of System Prefs on the Mac (or it may be selected automatically).
