Connecting SAP BW to SAP R/3 : Creating source system manually/automaticall

Hello All,
I have created the RFC connection between R/3 and BW system .The message types also have been defined and partner profiles have been generated.
When I am trying to create SAP source system in RSA1 --> Source system it asks me for the SAP Target server name, system ID and System number. After providing this it asks for ALEREMOTE users password in source system and target system.
Shouldnt this be blank!!!
Should this be provided separately by BASIS or shoudl it be the once we define while creating RFC Connections?
Kindly reply.
Regards,
NIKEKAB

Hello,
I used my user id to login. I recieved a message :
User already exists in source system  I continue:
Anothre window pops up : "Check  RFC connection" and it asks
'RFC connection already exists in source system . Do you want to check, use or cancel source system connection'
Here I select Use - but i get an error : Error in source system'.
how can i track down this error.
Kindly inform.

  • Error while creating source system entry in SAP BW system

    Hi,
I am creating source system entry in SAP BW system for ECC system. In T-Code RSA1 i entered all the details of source system and BW system like RFC destination of source system and RFC user passowrd.
After clicking on enter system is promting me to enter into the souce system using administrator user.but i don't have admin user with SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles because in my organisation they don't assign these profiles to any user.
So can you please update me what are the authorization required for dialog user in source system.
    Regards,
    Gaurav

I would recommend to create a USER ID as COMMUNICATION type and assign SAP_ALL for it... this way, it can never be misused..
This will ensure that the user ID will have correct authorization in the source system and will not face any authorization related errors later on

  • Creating source system in RSA1

    Hi guys,
I’m trying to create a source system in the TC RSA1 between R/3 PRO y BW PRO. But at the end of the process it sent me the message Source system already exists. There is no other source system for R/3 created. What can it be?
    Thanks a lot
    Regards,
    Vic

    Hi Vic,
Goto sm59 and delete the logical system for the R/3 system and retry the steps again.
    Check this doc:
    http://help.sap.com/bp_biv135/BBLibrary/documentation/B84_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_DE.doc
The steps for creating source system (automatic option in RSA1)is as follows:
1.Create remote logons in both the systems.
2.RSA1 -> Source system -> Create source system -> automatic creation
    3. Enter the details of the R/3 system and the Remote logon ids of both the system. In case you are using BI 3.5 or greater + R/3 4.7 or greater the password is "case sensitive" hence have all the passwords in CAPS.
    4. Now the system would create a remote logon and show up the remote logon screen. In that screen -> "logon and security" -> enter the remote logon id and password and save. Now the remote logon should not work from there.
    The connection is established.
    Bye

  • Authorization for user in ECC while creating source system in RSA1 in BW

    Hello All..
We are trying to create source system from BW(7.0) system using transaction code rsa1 to R/3 Production server.
After providing details in RSA1->Source system ; Remote logon screen of Production server pops up ...and ask to login thru admistrator Id..
To achieve the above task,, what authorization user should have in R/3 system..
    Thanks

    Hi,
Hope you are using the RFCUSER with these profile SAP_ALL , SAP_NEW , S_BI-WX_RFC in SAP ECC. Please create the RFCUSER with above profiles in ECC and BW (SAP_ALL , SAP_NEW and S_BI-WHM_RFC).
Pls follow the below steps for source system connection
    In ECC side
1.) Client administration SCC4 ( select your client and allow changes to repository and cross client customizing)
2.) Define a logical system in ECC
3.) Assign a logical system in ECC
4.) Creating RFC user with system user type and give these profiles SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW, S_BI-WX_RFC
    In SAP BI Side
1.) Client administration SCC4 ( select your client and allow changes to repository and cross client customizing)
    2.) Define a logical system
    3.) Assign a logical system
4.) Creating RFC user with system user type and give these profiles SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW, S_BI-WHM_RFC)
5.) Define RFC user as default (Click RSA1> Global Settings/Customizing dialog box> Glob. Settings)
Connection of SAP BI with ECC
RSA1> Source System>SAP>create>Enter the below entries
Target computer (server)                        Server of the SAP ECC
System ID System ID of the SAP ECC
System number System number of the SAP ECC
Background user in source system RFCUSER
    Password for source system Password
Background user in BW RFCUSER (can not be changed in this activity)
    Password for BW user Password
Select unicode in RFC destination and don't select the checkbox in logic screen.
On the dialog box Please log on as an basis administrator in the following screen choose Continue.
Log on to the Source System with your administrator user. Choose the correct client.
On the Replicate Metadata dialog box, choose Only Activate.
Make sure ECC client will allow changes in cross customizing client. It is one time activity once success then deselect the entry.
Hope this will help you to connect the system.

  • Creating source system: No entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN available

    Hi,
When i try to create source system in RSA1, when I choose SAP system from Release 3.0E (Automatic creation), I get this message:
No entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN available.
What do I have to do to create source system.
    RFC connection are already made.
    Best regards,
    Uros

    hi Uros,
you need to maintain ale user,
    rsa1->settings->global settings->glob settings
enter bw user ale. normally ALEREMOTE is used.
    oss note 410952
    Symptom
You receive the error message when trying to connect a source system to the Admininistrator Workbench:
"No entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN exists" (message number RSAR 059).
    Additional key words
    RSAR059, APO, RSADMINA
    Cause and prerequisites
In table RSADMINA, the BW user is not maintained for ALE.
    Solution
Maintain the entry using the following path:
    Call Administrator workbench (transaction RSA1).
From the 'Settings' menu, select Global Settings'.
If an entry already exists in the field "BW user for ALE", delete this.
Enter the correct names for the BW users in this field.
    Save the entry.
You must restart the Administrator Workbench (RSA1) now.
The source system can now be linked without errors.
    hope this helps.

  • Create Source System BW

Hi, I have problem try create source system (ERP) in the BW.
In the TX RSA1 > Modeling > Source System > SAP > Create connection succesfully but show new system in the Folder BI.
This new soruce system is displayed in the SAP folder but the folder is shown in BI.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Best Regards,
    EDRS

    Hello,
Looks like the SYSTEM shows right by displaying ECC under SAP rather than BI.
Refer to the note :- Note 1087980 - ECC Source systems appearing in BI folder

  • Creating Source Systems

    Hi
Are there any limits to what SAP systems can be created as Source Systems in any particular BW instance ?
My current BW instance has Source Systems set up for instances of ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0, both used to manage our organisation's business.
Our area also runs a separate SAP ECC 6.0 client as a sort of bureau service for other organisations. It runs on a different platform.
Is there any reason why we couldn't create a Source System in our BW to connect to this separate SAP client ?
    John

    Hi,
We can create more then one ECC as a Source for One BW system.  You can see teh InfoObejct differenet  infoobejcts to identify the source systems like below.
    Few eg:
    0LOG_SYS
    0APO_LOGSYS
    0CRM_LOGSYS
You create Source system for another ECC and extract the data to BW, it is not a problem, bcoz logical system names are different.
    Thanks

  • Error creating source systems

    Hi,
We have R/3 4.6C and BI7.0 in our landscape.
When i tried to create source system in BI to R.3 4.6C, its not able to create.
It giving error "RFC user logon failed". But all the RFC users password is correct and i have tested it.
I have created successfully with the same RFC user between BI and SRM.
Can anyone tell me what the problem could be and guide be in this regard.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sailesh K

    Problem solved.
R/3 4.6C was sending the password in upper case, despite entering it in lower case.
Solution: changed the ALEREMOTE password in BI to be uppercase.
"Message "Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)" appears when trying to log on to an SAP system, even when the password is known to be correct.       You are trying to log on to an ERP2005 or higher using a set of SAPGui controls that cannot handle case-sensitive passwords. The SAPGui controls are converting the password you type to upper-case, even when the password is lower-case.
Change the user password to upper-case (from the initial SAPGui screen or from transaction SU01)."
    Thanks anyway.

  • Error when creating source system

    Hi,
Could someone help me to solve this issue :When I want to create a source system D99100  in BI , I get the following message:
the test and remore connection via sm59 in BI are OK.
Source system cannot use any of the proposed connection names
    Message no. RSAR362
    Diagnosis
Every connection to a source system is named using a unique two-digit identifier. Source system D99100 does not accept any of the proposed values.
The last proposed value was B9.
    System Response
Source system has not been connected.
    Procedure
If you want to recreate the source system from BI information, then you can only use a single value, namely B9, because the connection already has this name in BI.
Delete the existing connections in the source system or contact a BI consultant.

    Hello,
By this time your issue might be resolved.
When you are trying to Connect or Reactivate source systems you might get this error. In the source system (R/3) check the table entries RSBASIDOC. Some reason after system copy, these entries should correct if you run BDLS and some time it mess up.
Go the table and go to the edit mode and change the entrie for that RFC destination. Change the filed TSPREFIX to some thing else and save it. Go back to BW and try to reconnect and you will be able to connect it.
Hope this helps in the future for this thread.
    PREDDY.

  • Creating source system in BW3.5

    Hi all,
I create a source system connection using automatic method and fill up all entry in create source system window in next screen  i give user name and password then these errors are shows
<b>Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'</b>.
when i am going in help of that error it shows this information  In this logon client any changes to repository and to crossclient customizing objects are prohibited
can anybody tell me why these errors are occur.
    thx.

    Hi Ankit,
As you posted yourself this message is appearing because your system is locked for any kind of editing. You need to open it to create this source system. This is generally done by a BASIS consultant.
You can go to SCC4 as mentioned above by Pankaj and open the client to create this.

    Sumit

  • Creating Source systems in two same logical BW systems from single R/3 sys

    Hi All,
We are facing an issue while creating Source systems in two same logical BW systems, from single R/3 systems. Our Basis team is telling that if we want to connect the single R/3 system into 2 BW systems with same logical name, we will need to delete the source systems from one BW systems and create in another system. Also they told by doing so it will delete all the transfer rules and PSA table existing in the current BW system, which has the source system connectivity with the R3 system now.
Is this anyway to create the same source systems in two same logical BW systems, from single R/3 systems without deleting the transfer rules?. Also please help us to get anu OSS note or document explaining this in details.
    Regards.
    Muruganand.K

    Hi Muruganand,
I dont think it is possible as connecting one R/3 Source System to two BW Systems.
If you could get the possible solution, please do reply to the post.

    Kiran

  • Create source system in BW3.5

    Hi all
can anybody tell me the procedure for creating source system in BW3.5 using automatic method at this time i create and  assign logical system in both BW and R3 system and create Background users in BW system now my confusions are
1 Is this nessory that i create a diffrent user which is not dialog user in BW or R3 and
2 Thing  is this nessorry that no pre created RFC connection present in R3
    thx

    hi,
i m listing down the steps with brief description, check if you r going that way.
1.you have same background user in BW and R/3 with proper autho.
2.you created new source system in RSA13, selecting first option of automatic creation.
3.you fill in all details correctly in popup window "Create R/3 Source System", that comes up.
4.pressing ok, it will ask you to log in as admin in target system. Before loggin in check client no, it may be diff e.g. 000, then change it to yr system client no.
5.next it will give you RFC destinations screen. goto tab "Logon/Security", give password for the user thr. save the changes.
6.you can check the connection by clicking "Test Connection" and try also "Remote Logon". If your password is correct, then it will log you in the system.
7.now everything is setup, so comeback. It will ask you to replicate/activate datasources from the source sytem. Click "Replicate as Well".
pls mark question answered, if you have no further doubts
    Now it is finished.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Purvang

  • Trouble in creating source system

    Hi,Alles.
I want to create a source system(R/3) for BW, I create a new background user'SYS100' in client 100(R/3), then I create source system in BW,after inputed all parameters and continue to logon R/3 system, a window jumped out'User already exists in source system,Only continue if profile and password are correct.' I selected 'Continue'.Then window displayed 'RFC destination already exists in source system,Do you want to use this destination, check, or cancel source system connection?',I selected 'check',it displayed that 'the system already exist' is the BW self system(can't be changed and deleted). What the reason? Give me some hints,Thanks.
