Connecting SAP CRM (or R/3) to FileNet

We are implementing a SAP CRM 5.0 system, and FileNet P8 is to be used as the document repository for SAP CRM.
We are using the FileNet adaptor, called ACSAP for SAP R/3, which allows us to connect to SAP CRM using the generic ArchiveLink functionality. However, we have found that the generic SAP ArchiveLink functionality is very restricted compared with the standard SAP CRM document management (e.g. versioning, creation from templates etc).
For example the documents tab on a SAP object, such as the business partner, allows users to import or create documents from new or from a template.  The user will be prompted to enter metadata and this document will have a version associated with it and it can be checked in and checked out by the user.  However we are currently using ArchiveLink which requires the user to click "activate ArchiveLink" to create the ArchiveLink folder.  In order to save a document in ArchiveLink the user must then import or create a document in the ArchiveLink folder.  Unfortunately most of the functionality mentioned previously, such as creation from a template and metadata capture, is not available when creating a document in the ArchiveLink folder.  We have also found that due to the lack of metadata the document name is generically assigned and thus is not useful to the user for identification.
In addition it is not possible to force users to save their documents into ArchiveLink, therefore they are able to save them outside of the required document repository. We have been unable to find a good solution to this problem.
So we want to know if it is either possible to:
- Specify that SAP CRM document management use ArchiveLink as its standard document repository?
- Connect FileNet/ACSAP directly to SAP CRM document management without using ArchiveLink?
Has anyone had experience connecting SAP CRM (or SAP R/3) to FileNet, and is able to provide us with some insight?
Thanks
Philip

Question was recreated in DMS group. No answer as yet, but hoping to get answers from SAP soon.

  • Error when connecting SAP CRM to SUP using JCO

    Hi Gurus,
we are trying to connect SAP CRM (v 7.0 Ehp1 SP3) to Sybase Unwired Server Platform 2.0 (installed on a 64bit workstation) using JCO.
Following the instructions into the following link:
    http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.sybase.infocenter.dc01283.0200/doc/html/asc1229701333453.html
and given the informationfound into the forum, we performed the following steps:
    1) Copy librfc32.dll (32bit) and sapjcorfc.dll (64bit, if not an error
    is thrown) to "D:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Servers\UnwiredServer\lib"
    2) Copy librfc32.dll (32bit) and sapjcorfc.dll (32bit) and paste them
    to C:\WINDOWS\sysWOW64
    3) Copy librfc32.dll (32bit) and sapjcorfc.dll (32bit)
    to 'D:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\JDK1.6.0_24\bin'
    4) Copy sapjco.jar (32bit) to
    "\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Unwired_WorkSpace\Eclipse\sybase_workspace\mobile\eclipse\plugins\com.sybase.uep.com.sap.mw.jco_<version>\lib"
    5) Copy sapjco.jar (32bit)
    to "D:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Servers\UnwiredServer\lib\3rdparty"
With this configuration, we are able to connect to CRM from Eclipse (Sybase Unwired Workspace) but if we open Sybase Control Center, and we go to Domains -> Connections, we select CRD connection, we go to Properties then we click on "Test connection", SCC remains stuck with no responce. This issue does not allow us to connect to Sybase-SAP
using an Ipad application (the application remains stuck the same).
We also tried to install SapGui, but with no results. Did we place the right files into the right directories? Do you have any suggestions=
    Thanks in advance,
    Fabio

This is very imp requirement kindly give support.., how we can connect to other system..through XIF Adapter..??
IS it possible to create ZBAPI in SAP CRM..?
    Thankz in Advance

    Hi,
    - Xif adapters and service process the BDOC messages.
    - adapters for inbound and outbounfd processing.
-it will forward the messages from  the inbound queues to the control component.
-BDOC is a business document where the flow of data to and from the CRM system takes place.
-Bdoc is a container that contain business data
    - it describes the hierarchial structure of the business data.
-you can also create custom specific BDOC types,
-BDOC's as a data container to process business objects as one unit and this avoid having to transport several individual tables.
Bdoc types are found in BDOC repositry.
    Bdoc types have two part
Header- consist of one single segment so-caooed control segment
Body - consist of one or more data segment
Idoc having three types of data:
    control record
    Data record
    status record
    hope it will useful.

  • Connecting sap crm database from java | platform used NWDS

I need to get some values from one of the SAP CRM 2007 database table and display it in one jsp file. I am working on a e commerce webshop in NWDS. I am new to NWDS. Can you give some sample code showing how to make connection to crm database and to do a select query on a table.

I have only worked with CRM 3.0/4.0 but I have worked some with other WDP applications.
So you want to access some data in a table in the CRM backend (R/3)?
To do that from Java you need to call a BAPI in the CRM system. The BAPI does the acctuall lookup in the table and returns the value to the Java side. To do that in a WDP environment you need to set up Java Connectors (jCo) in your Java server. In some cases you can use a "normal" BAPI call, that is the way CRM ISA 3.0 and 4.0 works. See: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm30/helpdata/en/b6/97f8378f975450e10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm

  • Connecting SAP CRM with Xcelsius to generate dashboards

CA Forum: Xcelsius and Live Office
    Hi Team,
I am new to BOBJ and its components. I want to integerate SAP CRM system with Xcelsius to generate dashboards. As per my understanding only  through three sources we can generate Xcelsius dashboards
    1) Excel sheet  2) Web services  3) Live Office
Now in this case, how can I generate Xcelsius dashboards. How can I connect it to CRM system and How can I fetch the data from it?
    Regards,

CA Forum: Xcelsius and Live Office
to create dashboards with xcelsius is not a big issue, just you've to understand how u get the data from ur database , for the excel sheet its a primary thing that make the xcelsius dashboards work, for the other things its just a work arounds to let ur data come live
like "Live Office" , or "Web Service" or "XML Data map",,,, etc
based on ur business and ur available tools, you can use anything of them to get the data life to the Xcelsius dashboards, read the xcelsius developer guide from business objects thats may help you much around this issue
    good luck

  • RFC connection - SAP CRM to SAP R/3

    Hello all,
We have a requirement in the project, where client is already using SAP R/3 ERP system, and is going for CRM for e-commerce. Now as they have most of the development already done in R/3, they want to use some Function Module or say Report Program already developed in R/3 to be used in CRM system.
Please tell, if this thing is possible via RFC connection, and if yes, then how can we go about doing it? It is a critical requirement.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rohit Khetarpal

In transaction sm59 define an rfc destination in CRM that connects back to R/3.
You most likely already have one for bdocs etc. You can use this one or create one specific to your task.
Create an RFC user in R/3 that will have sufficent authorization to run your remote enabled function modules in R/3. Assign the user to your new CRM rfc destination in sm59 if you've created a new rfc destination.
Make sure the remote enabled check box in your R/3 function modlule attributes are ticked.
In your CRM program call the R/3 function module with the name of the rfc destination you created, as below.
    call function ' my_r3_function_module_name' destination 'the_rfc_destination_name'.
You will need to add in the fm interface manually, i.e. importing, exporting, etc.

  • SAP CRM 7.0 connected to Legacy system

    Dears -
we have the requirement to connect our SAP CRM system (7.0) - that is a brand-new installation NOT to ECC, but to a legacy system.
We have planned to implement custom interfaces to replicate the masterdatas. Doubt is: can you point out which are the Best Practices / Building Blocks in order to perform the configuration in SAP CRM without being it connected to ECC.
    Every reply is greatly appreciated.
    Teresa

    > Do you have a sort of best practifce with all the customizing steps need to be done by hand?
This depends on which scenarios you use and what you plan to do with the system. CRM is pretty complex and VERY big so there is no BP guide, especially not if there's no ERP ABAP backend. I'd start SPRO, use the standard IMG and start on top.

  • Error in logical port while connecting to SAP CRM cloud

    Dear Members,
I have created a logical port manually to connect to SAP CRM cloud system. But when I ping the web service I am getting below error. Please let me know how to solve this error.
SRT Framework exception: Service Ping ERROR: Error when calling SOAP Runtime functions: SRT: Couldn't create Object: ("ICF Error when creating HTTP client object by Config for URL <WSDL URL>

    Hello Nihar,
The error message indicates the HTTP client object cannot be created by the given URL. Please check if your URL is correct.
You also need to check what protocol is used, HTTP or HTTPS, and ensure the protocol is active in your local ABAP system as well. You can check them by t-code SMICM->Goto->Services.

  • Data of Pop Up (Third Party Provider) is not copied over to SAP CRM Web UI

    Hi Experts,
we have created a Function Group (ZDI_PAYMENT) and have defined  FM ZDI_PAYMENT_SET to set data into the variables of this Function Group and FM ZDI_PAYMENT_GET to retrieve data out of the same variables.
Process is as follows: A customer wants to pay with his credit card but credit card can not be saved on the Service Order. So that is why a token is created and this token is saved on the Service Order. To create this token SAP CRM is connected via HTTP Connection to a third party provider. When user needs a token he pushes a button and a pop up is openened. This pop up is already provided by third party provider and in this pop up the user introduces credit card number and on the same pop up the token is visible and just has to be copied over to the SAP CRM View.
Problem now is that when we made testing we found out that for some user it works fine and FM ZDI_PAYMENT_GET gets actually the values for token and data is copied over to SAP CRM but for others it does not work. So we think it has to be to do with the browser settings but we are not really sure.
    Has anybody experience with that?
    Regards,
    Oliver Schultze

    Hi Experts,
we found out already what was the problem. We have used a URL to log in into the SAP CRM that has a port. Log In Link should be without Port.
