Connecting server through internet connection

Hi
I want to connect my server through internet connection. Could anyone help me out how to do this?
MAK

hello mortoza,
Remember these things..
The database server should be connected to the internet directly..
the database server should be having a public ip address to identify it uniquely in the internet..
you can then connect to the database from any application by using jdbc and providing the ip address and port of the DB server in the url as suited for your jdbc driver....
hope that was helpful,
-Jer
Hi, please find required information
-Connection for Application.
-For example, to connect mySQL database running at a
Unix Server in USA from EC
-Simple network connection, not web server
Any one can help?

  • IPhone connection with B1i Server through internet

    Dear All,
iPhone is successfully connected with my B1i server through intranet (wifi connection).
But When i am trying to connect my B1i server through internet, I am getting the following issue.
I am getting an error as follows when i try to browse the tomcat homepage in IE
XCL198 HTTP-access currently not allowed from remote clients, as B1iP runs in local-mode or safe-mode.
I followed the solution given in B1iC troubleshooting Guide.
I am using SAP 8.81 patch level 6.
    Maintenance->CFG Runtime parameters as
    B1i Http port :8080
    B1i Https port : 8443
B1i Server : My server ip
Please help me to resolve this problem.

    Ken, George, Dear all,
in given context of problems running the mobile solution, please do NOT change B1i server Xcellerator properties at all.
Quite frequently there are ideas to change the default settings of WebDAV and remote settings of B1i server. This is simply a waste of time and definitely not required for troubleshooting or making the mobile
    solution working.
Simply check the documentation 'Administrator's Guide for the Integration Component' for the purpose, the default settings, and further info about these properties you instruct to change:
    a) About xcl.http.localOnly
Administrative Web access is limited to the local machine only. After installation, it is possible to manually allow access by remote machines by changing the particular setting in the operating system configuration file
    (Xcellerator.cfg).
For additional documentation, choose Start → All Programs → Integration solution for SAP Business One → Integration framework, and then choose Help → Ref 04 – Operations, chapter 6.2.
    b) About WebDAV-based access
WebDAV-based access to BizStore content is disabled. SAP does not recommend enabling this kind of access for productive systems, as this is typically needed for development systems only.
For additional documentation, choose Start → All Programs → Integration solution for SAP Business One → Integration framework, then go to Help → Ref 01 – Dev Environment, chapter 3.
For checking the connectivity from mobile to server / excluding network issues, B1iP can definitely run in local mode. When calling the server from mobile, B1iP would give you a fully sufficient, proper
    response:
SAP B1iP detected an error: Emitted HTTP-Code 403 - Forbidden
Internal Reason XCL198 HTTP-access currently not allowed from remote clients, as B1iP runs in local-mode or safe-mode.
    - This is exactely the alleged 'error', Tamizharasi mentioned at the beginning. Behind the internet connection issue from iPhone to his B1i server (which was unfortunately not described at all) must have been a quite different root cause - changing xcellerator properties is unfortunately a wrong recommendation here in order to clear such general iPhone issue.
I am concerned here from security side, such settings may not be amended lightly, and lead the problem-solving in the wrong direction - beside your additional efforts.
We do recommend to keep the default values and undo such configuration changes again, if not needed.
For troubleshooting the mobile solution please check SAP note 1602674.
    Best regards, peter

  • Accessing APP Server through internet

    Dear All,
I have an Oracle APP Server 10gR2 installed on Enterprise linux 4.
Forms and report services are running there to access oracle Forms And Reports.
How can I make it accessible to any ineternet User.
I already have a Real ip with the machine where app server is installed
    Pls Help me out

    Hi Debabrata,
In App Controller the console access is provided by an ActiveX control and this requires the client (web browser) to connect directly to the Hyper-V server. As you note, for this to work over the internet would require the Hyper-V host to be accessible from
the internet, and this is not a recommended security practice.
Publishing App Controller as a Remote App avoids needing to make the Hyper-V host accessible to the internet. I'm not an expert in setting up Remote App and don't have an answer about how to avoid doing 2 lots of authentication. The
Remote Desktop Services forum is likely to be a better place to ask a question on setting up Remote Apps.
Let me know what you need help with for the Remote Console in Windows Azure Pack option. There is also a forum for
Azure Pack and two of our MVPs who do have console connect working have both written articles that describe their experience.

  • How to access file server through ethernet BUT internet though wireless

I'm looking for a way to to run my file server network through ethernet while internet access is provided though wireless, but don't want users to have to switch off the wireless when they want to access the file server.
File server is set up at trade shows and the conventions charge a fortune for internet access for multiple users and even more ($6000) for a connection that I'm allowed to put a router on. So I'm considering running my apple router for the file server network without internet access and just having my staff get their internet access from the cheaper wireless access the convention center has throughout the building.
Problem is that I need them to be able to access the file server and the internet at the same time without switching back-and-forth from either network.
Any suggestions? File server and all clients are macs.

Can anyone please help me how to connect to my Office Server from my home place through internet. What are changes required in TNSNAMES.ORA file, SQLNET.ORA.

  • I can't get online through firefox (this keeps coming up THE PROXY SERVER IS REFUSING CONNECTIONS) but can through internet explorer?

As I said in the question when I click on the firefox link on the desktop this is what comes up (THE PROXY SERVER IS REFUSING CONNECTIONS Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections) but I can get connected through Internet Explorer. I have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled firefox with no difference.

I tried all that stuff and none of it helped. I can't load any of the google applications in firefox now. They pop up with this screen.
    This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to mail.google.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
    What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it was issued by an invalid CA certificate. (Error code: sec_error_inadequate_key_usage)
Now I tried a couple of other sites and they all seemed to work okay, and if necessary I could click understand the risks and still access the site, but no go with google. Considering I use my google account for my calendar and gmail a lot, I am highly disappointed with this new update. I hate using IE and really prefer to use Firefox.

  • Connect Oracle through internet

    Hi,
I am trying to connect my oracle database through internet.
but it is saying ORA-12203: TNS:unable to connect to destination
although i tested tnsping utility, it is giving OK status. and i have also tested through telnet utility with my server static IP and port 1521, this is also OK.
but when i try to connect via PL/SQL it returns error.
although with same setting is runing successfully in LAN.
    any idean please?
    regards
    aak

After the initial connect at port 1521 the Oracle server sends a packet to the client with a new port number to continue the conversation. You either need a firewall that's aware of the SQL*Net protocol and "sees" this new number and opens it up, or you can switch to a static port but apparently that could have a performance impact on Windows.

  • Can't connect to server from internet

    Hi
I’ve just set up a new Mac mini server with Lion 10.7.1.
It’s configured as "Host name for Internet".
I can reach the router from Internet. NAT on the router is setup to forward the the required ports according to Apple’s document "Well known TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products"
Still I can’t connect to any service on the server from Internet (Address Book, Calendar, AFP, VPN)
    Please help!
    Asbjørn

You can test it from outside with a telnet connection:
Open Terminal.app (Applications > Utilities) and insert:
    telnet <ip-address-from-router> <port>
so testing the iCal port would be:
    telnet 123.234.45.6 8008
    or SSL:
    telnet 123.234.45.6 8443
When you get "Escape character is '^]'." the connection is established to the server/port.
When you get " telnet: connect to address 123.234.45.6: Connection refused  |  telnet: Unable to connect to remote host" something is wrong with the setup.
Maybe it's the Port-forwarding, maybe the setup of the server.
Is it working in the local network?
I also would recommend you, to NOT share AFP over the network! The traffic isn't secured in a single way! Instead just configure VPN and establish the AFP connection through that VPN tunnel, but not directly by opening that connection to the internet!

  • Client Computer cannot connect to server over internet (VPN)

    Hello Guys,
I am setting up a windows server 2012 Data centre for business purpose. I have installed & configured server with AD DC, DNS, DHCP, IIS, NPS, Routing etc.. I am able to connect client computers which is on the same domain to the server through same router.
VPN also work fine. But if I try to connect to the server via VPN through a different internet connection it won't connect. Can some one please tell me what I am doing wrong.
    My Network Confg is,
    DHCP IP ADDRESS FROM ISP
DHCP Disables Router, (Tried with enable)
Have my own website domain which is not linked with the server.
    NAT not configured.
    Thanks in Advance
    Emmanual.

    Hi Emmanual,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Can you ping to the remote server after connecting through VPN?
Did you find any specific error\event id for your case?
    What’s your client OS version?
If you are not getting ping successfully then seems there is connection issue through VPN. So for this you can initially check the connection setting with following article.
You Cannot Connect to the Internet After You Connect to a VPN Server
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317025
There are several reason as client is not getting remotely connected to server. In addition you can checl following article.

    Hope it helps!

  • How to Connect my N79 through Internet on Laptop?

    Hi Friends ,
i am facing a problem while connecting my N79 through Internet on my laptop . i am using USB Modem for Internet Connectivity. And i want to share this Internet on my N79 through Wireless LAN . i am using Windows Vista . Please tell me how to Configure my WLAN on my laptop . so that i can use it to browse through my N79.
    Please Help Me Guys .....................!!!!!!

    Yes, it can be done.
    1) Enable "Internet Connection Sharing" on the laptop and share the connection that refers to your USB modem.
    2) Ask your ISP what the IP addresses of their nameservers are and make a note of them.
    3) Configure the laptop's wireless adapter in ad-hoc mode and assign it a static address on the wireless network.
    4) Configure the N79 in ad-hoc mode as well, and give it a static address on the wireless network. Enter manual settings telling it to use the IP address of the laptop as its default gateway and to use the IP addresses given to you by your ISP as its nameservers.
With this, you can use the laptop as your phone's portal to the Internet, but only with your phone. This will only work with one device at a time. If you want to use more than one device at the same time you're better off buying a real wireless router to which you will be able to connect your laptop, your phone and any other wifi-aware device you might have.
NB: I don't use Windows on my machines and therefore can't give any specific information about doing this. The advanced settings needed for the phone will be described in the manual.

Intel iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I've just done a clean install of OSX Server and added the latest MYSQL packaged installer. Afterwards I found the lock file in /private/tmp/mysql.lock
The easiest way to solve this problem is to create a symbolic link so that the lock file appears to be in right place.
    e.g.
    cd /var
sudo mkdir mysql <== this assumes the directory is missing
    cd mysql
    sudo ln -s /private/tmp/mysql.sock mysql.sock
After this msql commands should work fine, and you've not fiddled with the security settings on users/groups.
