Connecting Shropshire - exchange to be upgraded th...

Our exchange is to be upgraded by the summer of 2014 in the Connecting Shropshire scheme.
Having read the blurb it confirms that this is  Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC), so my question is - will my speed automatically increase once the exchange has been enabled or do I need  to 'do something' myself?
Thanks
Graham

Once your exchange has been upgraded the next process is to upgrade the street cabinets. Once that has been done the exchange will be accepting orders for FTTC or BT Infinity if that is the ISP you decide to go with. This process can take many months. Once completed you will have to contact BT and order the Infinity package that you want. It is not an automatic upgrade.
If you use this checker it will tell what cabinet you are on and what services it can receive. Once the cabinet has been upgraded it will show FTTC.

  • Does anyone know how to get apple mail in Lion to connect with Exchange 2007?

Does anyone know how to get apple mail in Lion 10.7.2 to connect with Exchange 2007?  It worked perfectly with Snow Leopard... upgraded to lion and it won't work.  We use Exchange 2007 with SP 3 and Rollup 4.  Won't connect... and I can't get Apple to give me any direction.

We finally got it to work today.  We had to call and pay for the microsoft support service, but the issue was on the server end.  We had to go into the iis manager... went to sites... when to default website...and changed the SSL settings for Auto Discover, EWS Exadmin, echange, exchweb, owa... and the rest..
Change the settings to ignore client certificates.
Problem solved. Can finally send and receive.

  • Unable to add Exchange account after upgrading Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2010

    Hello,
We have a number of users that we have upgraded Outlook from 2003 to Outlook 2010.
I am now trying to add an exchange account to these machines, but it doesn't work.
The exchange setup is correct, as we have some machines that came with Outlook 2010/2013 out of the box, and the exchange accounts work fine on them.
The first error that appears when adding the account is:
I have tried removing Outlook 2010, and then uninstalling Outlook 2003, reboot and re-install 2010. Same error.
I have tried setting up a new profile for the user, same error.
Our Exchange host pointed me to this  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2264398 which initially looked quite promising, as it describes
the issue I am seeing. However, after carrying out the fix, I get the same error.
I checked in event viewer, and these issues seem to be relevant to the issue:

    Hi Stephen,
What’s your Exchange server version? Exchange 2013 or Exchange 2010?
Since your original Outlook 2010 and 2013 users can connect to Exchange server and work well, I think the configuration(Autodiscover service, Outlook Anywhere etc.) in server side should be correct. Please make sure your
new Outlook profile for Outlook 2010 have been configured with the following points:
    1. The Encrypt data between Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Exchange Server is checked.
    2. Restart the Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service in Exchange server. And make sure all other Exchange services are running.
Please check whether the problematic users can configure an Outlook account and access their mailbox in the original Outlook 2010 client or not.
    Thanks,

  • Unbale to install November update on Outlook 2007 SP3 for connecting to Exchange 2013

    Hi
I was trying to upgrade my outlook 2007 clients for connecting to Exchange 2013 environment. First I have installed Office SP3 (kb2526086). Outlook version after that is 12.0.6607.1000. Later I  tried to install nNovember 2012 update which is a
prerequisite for connecting to Exchange 2013 clients (support.microsoft.com/kb/2687404/en-us) but it shows me a message "Expected version of the product was not found on the system". No idea  how to proceed now, expecting help.

  • Is my connection any good after 21CN upgrade?

    Hi,
My exchange recently was upgraded to 21CN, the line has been trained the service was migrated over 10 days ago.  My line is close to the exchange.  According to BT Speedtester I could achieve 21mb.
The stats from my router (Cisco SRP547W-E-K9) are as follows:
    DSL Status:
    Showtime
    DSL Modulation Mode:
    ADSL2+
    Downstream Rate:

    Upstream Line Attenuation:
    7.5
    Downstream Transmit Power:

    Upstream Transmit Power:
    12.2
During the 10 fday training I did have to reset the router several times a day as I work from home and some times the internet became completely unusable.
Any advice on the health of the line from the stats above would be really appreciated.

  • Cannot connect to Exchange 2007 server on OS 3.1

    Hi
Since I've upgraded to OS 3.1 on my iPhone 3GS I cannot connect to my Exchange 2007 server. The phone simply tells me "The connection to the server failed.".
What could this be? I've read the problems that 3G people are experiencing, but I've got the 3GS.
Is there anyway to debug this? The Exchange server works fine in Outlook and I can even connect to the web interface through Safari on the iPhone.
    Any suggestions?

  • Mavericks Mail not working properly with Exchange server after upgrade from Lion

Mail will no longer maintain a stable connection to my company's Exchange server after upgrading to Mavericks from Lion.  Nothing has been changed on the Exchange server.  It has only partially downloaded the messages that are on the server.  It seems to download current messages when they hit the server.  It has difficulty sending messages.  When I send a message, it gets stuck in the Outbox.  It is constantly losing the connection to the server.  The problem is only occuring with Exchange email.  My iCloud email works properly as well as a POP3 account.

No shortage of pre-existing threads on Mavericks mail issues...

  • How do I find out when our exchange will be upgrad...

Our exchange is very small (around 35O lines) and we are a long way from it - 4km.  At the very best - early in the morning - we can get 1.5mb download and 0.35mb upload.  By the time everyone else is on it in the evenings it doesn't really work at all - so slow you can't check the speeds.  Have done all we can locally, am a county broadband champion, but seems impossible to find out when the BT exchange will be upgraded.  Suspect we are too rural and will be in the 10% not covered by the Government's weedy promise of 2015.  Such a missed opportunity - as better broadband would be a fantastic boost to rural economies and save fuel. Anyone know how a) you can find out the plans and b) what's the best way to lobby?

    Hi,
Your exchange is probably ADSLMax enabled giving your speeds of up to 8mb. The upgrade your probably talking about is the upgrade to BTw's 21cn network which enables ADSL2+ at your exchange. ADSL2+ is upto 20mb.
You can check if your exchange is going to be upgraded here: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker
However if you have a long line then a good stable line on ADSLMax may not be a good stable line on ADSL2+ as ADSL2+ is more aggressive to any noise on your line.
Once BTW and Openreach have upgraded your exchange it can take days/weeks/months till your line is upgraded to ADSL2+ as they are manual transferred to the new equipment in the exchange in batches.
If your on a ling line then you might be moved to BTw's 21cn network but kept on ADSLMax.
If your able to supply your ADSL Line Statistics and a BT speedtest we might be able to tell you if you will benefit from ADSL2+.
    1) ADSL Line Stats Help
If you have a BT Home Hub like the one below...
    Then:
    1) Go to http://192.168.1.254 or http://bthomehub.home
    2) click Settings
    3) Click Advanced Settings
    4) Click Broadband
    5) Click Connection or sometimes called ADSL (see picture Below)
The direct Address is http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9116 (for bthomehub3)
    2) can your post your BT Speedtest results by using http://speedtester.bt.com (not beta version) [best done with a wired connection ie Ethernet]

  • On Windows 2012 Terminal Server Outlook fails to connect to Exchange 2013

I have a new install of Windows 2012.  I have two physical servers.  One is a W2012 std Domain Controller ("DC").  The Second is configured as W2012 HyperV  ("HV").  Under HV I have
two VMs.  One VM is W2012/Exchange 2013 ("ExchVM) and the other is W2012/Terminal Server ("VMTS").  All systems are behind a firewall appliance.  Exchange is working via Outlook and OWA internally and externally.  The self
created SSL must be installed manually on external machines since it comes up as an untrusted certificate.  Once installed remote outlook works and OWA works.  I have configured the terminal server and I am able
to login remotely as various users under my "TS group".  The problem is when ever I attempt to open Outlook for the 1st time, it fails to connect to the exchange server.   (Open Outlook 2013, click next
on the splash screen, "Yes" Add an Email Account splash screen, click next, Auto Account screen populates NAME and Email Address correctly, click next, Searching for mail server settings..., check on establishing network connection, check on searching
for alias@ domain, then fails the logging on to the mail server)  The error reads:  "Outlook cannot log on.  Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name.  The
connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable.  Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."   I am connected in RDS from offsite, and from the RD session I can access shared folders on ExchVM and DC.  I have
tried have verified the server Exchange server name is correct via "Get=ClientAccessServer" command.  I have also tried to use the guid via "Get-Mailbox
ALIAS | fl name, exchangeguid.  Keep in mind all desktop users on the network are connecting to Outlook without issue.
I would appreciate any thoughts on solving this issue.

    Hi,
According to your workaround, it seems that the Outlook Anywhere configuration in Outlook client is not correct when using the Autodiscover service.
Once you connected to Exchange server by manually settings, please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration tool in external Outlook client to check the autodiscover service:
open Outlook - press CTRL key - right click on the Outlook icon from right bottom corner taskbar - Test Email AutoConfiguration. Put your email address - uncheck use guessmart and secure guessmart authentication - click Test to check your Autodiscover service.
Please check the Log tab and confirm whether the Autodiscover service is connected successfully. Also confirm if the connection issue happens to all external users when they open Outlook for the 1st time. In Exchange server, please make sure
autodiscover.domain.com has been included in your Exchange certificate which is assigned with IIS service.

  • Problem with connecting to free wifi after upgrading to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8

    Hi
I had problems with connecting to free Wifi after upgrading my PC(Notebook) to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8. As I travel a lot within europe, I am used to being able to connect to Free Wifi(those that dont need a key or password to enter) but soon after downloading
Windows 8.1 I almost never was able to do this. I'd always get «LIMITED» even though the signal was strong. This was so fustrating,so much so that I reset my PC to clear it of Windows 8.1 and am now back to Windows 8.This is a shame because I was really liking
using Windows 8.1 and if not for this problem(which is a big one) I'd still be using it. If I download Windows 8.1 again from the Windows store what is the probability that I'll have the same problems?
    Thanks Portozzygirl

More often than not when a device isn't working it is because the driver has become corrupted. Re-installing a fresh copy should help

  • Outlook can't connect with Exchange 2013 after migration from Exchange 2007

    <style type="text/css">P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; }</style>
    Hello,
recently we've done a Exchange 2007 sp3 to 2013 sp1. Users can conect perfectly with OWA and with his iphone clients.
But the problem is they can't connect from his Outlook clients (2010, 2013), both internaly and externaly. Always fails with the message: The Connection to Exchange it is not avaliable.... Can't resolve the name of Exchange server.
To try to resolve it we've done:
    - Check Outlook anywhere configuration en EAC: it is configure with and external url mail.company.com and internal server.domain.local. The security is the default Negociation, but we've tried all.
    - Check the internal dns, there are records for mail.company.com and exchangeserverdomain.local pointing to the exchange local ip. Also there is a public zone company.com with the record mail.caompany.com pointing to the exchange local ip. Also we've made
records autodiscover.company.com and autodiscover.domain.local pointing to the exchange local ip.
    - In the public dns from our domain there is the record A and MX pointing our public ip. There aren't any record Autodiscover but we think that the manial conection should work.
Check certificates: we've made a new self-signed certificate including all this internal and external domains and for all services.
    - Check Outlook Anywhere block: we've cheked.
    Currently server state:
    - Old Exchange 07 server can't start, it was in very bad state and we achieved migrate the mailbox to the new server, after that we tried to uninstall, but it crashes with a public folder replication error. We got uninstall all the roles
unless the mailbox. After a restart it can't start.
-The new Exchange 2013 looks great, there isn't any trail of the old server, or we haven't seen anything in the EAC or shell.
I paste below the result of Microsoft Remote conectivity analaizer, with Outlook anywhere test. It is clear that there is a problem with that.
Sorry because the test is in spanish and I translated it with google, from here I only can access the tool in spanish.
We continue to try to resolve the problem.
    Thanks to all in advance!

  • Outlook connection to exchange server problem

We have a new domain and an existing exchange server. The problem is if i log in with a local computer account i can autodiscover and connect in cached mode to exchange no problem. If i then login with a domain user account the same computer (tried on other
workstations) will fail to auto discover, fail to connect to exchange even with manual settings. I cant find anything obvious in Group policy.
The server is setup with the latest 2013 Group policy templates with office 2013 templates
Users not logged in with the new AD server can connect to exchange
Users not logged into the domain can access exchange server
My feeling is its a local setting that is missing or needs to be changed in Group Policy but i am at a loss as to what it could be
I have disabled roaming profiles too and it makes no difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Steve

    Hi,
Sorry for my delay. According to your description, I summarize your issue to the following points:
    1. No problem when the user logs in Outlook with a local computer account in Cached mode.
    2. Can’t connect to Exchange from an cache mode enabled Outlook 2013 client when using a domain user account on the same computer automatically or manually.
    3. Can connect to Exchange from an online mode enabled Outlook 2013 client when using a domain user account on the same computer automatically or manually.
It is right? If I misunderstand, please feel free to point it out. Additionally, I noticed that the server is setup with the latest 2013 Group policy templates with office 2013 templates. Please confirm
if the Outlook cache mode is disabled by OTC or GPO. If there is following registry key applied on the machine:
    Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Cached Mode
Meanwhile, please try to install an Outlook 2013 with a fresh ISO file(Don’t use any template such as OCT template), see if the Cached mode Outlook can connect to Exchange server.
    Waiting for your updates.

  • Outlook 2013 randomly loses connection to Exchange 2007 server

    Hello everyone,
I have received complaints from some of our users over the past couple of months about them not receiving mails or about sending mails which do not get delivered. A little bit of investigation into the matter showed me that Outlook 2013 had lost its connection
to the Exchange server. (Which is Exchange 2007 SP3 running on Windows Server 2008 / SBS2008, in case it matters.)
Which is bad enough in itself - none of our users running Outlook 2007 and 2010 had that problem - but it also does so in a rather inconspicuous manner, so the users did not notice. Closing and restarting Outlook helped every single time, but the users did
not notice when this happened, and telling them to just restart Outlook every hour or so does not seem like an overloy practical idea.
All of the clients encountering the problem are running Outlook 2013 on Windows 8/8.1 Pro. We do not have any clients running older versions of Outlook on Windows 8, so I cannot tell for sure if this problem originates in the OS or if it is an Outlook problem.
The first couple of times I encountered the problem, it was on laptops, so I suspected some power management issue initially. I made sure Outlook connected to the server via HTTPS, which it already did. Then I did not hear of the problem for about two months,
but recently, two of our users have run into the problem again, and while these were still Windows 8.1 machines, running, of course, Outlook 2013, they are plain desktop computers, not laptops, and I already toned down their power management settings, so I
do not think that it has to do with the problem.
Has anybody encountered a similar problem or even - more importantly - a solution? This problem is really frustrating, because our users are very sensitive to problems with their email, and the fact that this problem only occurs randomly and - all in all
    - rather rarely, makes it very hard to track down.
Thank you all very, very much for any insights you might be able to share with me!

    Hi,
Please ensure that Outlook 2013 clients retain their connection with the Exchange server using HTTP:
Have the Outlook 2013 user check the settings under FILE -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> E-mail tab -> Select the account and click Change -> More Settings -> Connection tab -> Exchange Proxy Settings -> Make sure both
"On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP" and "On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP" are selected -> OK.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • Problems connecting to the internet after Upgrade from windows 8.1 pro

Cant connect to the internet after upgrading to windows 8.1 pro, what can i do to rectify this problem?
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can also try to install the older version in compatible mode:
Windows 8.1 Wifi showing "limited" or "No Internet Access"
Solution: revert your network adapter driver back to an older version
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/dennis_schnell/archive/2013/08/31/windows-8-1-wifi-showing-quot-limitied-quot-or-quot-no-internet-access-quot.aspx
In addition, disable power management on your network driver:
    Open Network and Sharing Center.
Click the Change adapter settings link in the upper left of the navigation pane.
Right click the network connection you want to enable/disable power management support on and click Properties .
    Click Configure .
On the Power Management tab, clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
If the issue still persists, please upload the event log for our research:

Why can't I connect to Exchange Server 2003? I'm using OS Lion. My iphone connects, what am I doing wrong?

the iPhone uses active sync. Desktop clients do not. Desktop clients use another exchange protocol (which i can't remember as i'm not a microsofty).
Just because you can access via active sync doesn't mean you can access it by other methods, and vice versa.
