Connecting the Fifth Generation iPod to Windows

Seems many have this problem:
I have the 5th generation 30gb ipod classic, but my system doesn't recognize it nor reads my device in itunes...
ODDS:
ports are 2.0 greater! Reinstalled itunes! tried eveything with apple support- seriously! Cable is fine!
Note:
ipod will charge---when in mode it will show can disconnect, but will not show do not disconnect
All the ports are updated and function properly
** Apple mobile device shows as started with "services" file- through administrative tools 'under control panel'
*Apple mobile device does not show through device manager...
There is no mass USB, no apple USB, no other usb in device manager

Well start with these articles and see if that gets you anywhere...

The only theoretical solution is an USB ExpressCard adapter and FireWire ExpressCard. I don't know if anyone's actually attempted it.

  • HT1719 how do i connect the fourth generation iPod shuffle to the computer?

  • Loading videos and movies onto the fifth generation ipod

I would like to load my ipod with movies and other videos. These videos are already stored on my computer's hard disk. Have you got any suggestions?

Yeah... Your best bet is that the videos you are trying to import are in a format unrecognized by iTunes, since iTunes uses QuickTime to play video media you will have to convert your video so it will be recognized by quick time..http://www.apple.com/quicktime/player/specs.html (see specifications at bottom of link page.) After you have converted the videos you should have no problem importing them in to iTunes, with the steps we discussed above.

  • When will it be avaliable for fifth generation ipods?

I Cant believe this is only for iposd nano, does anybody no when it will be compatable with the fifth generation ipods?

it would take much more than 1000-2000 signatures. this would cost apple money to write the software and whatnot to get it to work on the other iPods so they're not gonna do for such a small amount of people.

Does the 5th generation ipod nano have blue tooth capabilities?
    Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, the fifth generation iPod nano does not have a built-in Bluetooth chip. The seventh generation iPod nano, introduced in fall 2012, is the only iPod nano as of now that does have Bluetooth built-in.

  • Transfer files from 10.2.8 to Windows fifth generation ipod

Can anyone tell me how to get my music and photos from my ibook 10.2.8 onto my new fifth generation ipod that is formatted for windows? And from there, get it to my pc?
    Thanks

Your iPod will have to be formatted to Windows throughout the entire process. What you'll have to do is put your music on your iPod via your Mac. Then, connect it your PC, and use either one of the following programs to rip files from your iPod...
    PodUtil
    YamiPod
Both will rip files from your iPod, and place them in a specified folder on your computer.

Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

  • Why doesn't my fifth generation ipod nano work with my Toyota Yaris?

Hello – The charging feature on my new fifth generation ipod nano doesn’t work with the factory glove compartment adapter that came with my 2008 Toyota Yaris. It plays music, etc but does not charge the ipod when connected.
My third generation nano charged perfectly with my yaris until it was run over and crushed recently. My nano gen 5 replacement doesn’t work the same with my Yaris. Can anyone help?
    Steve

I cannot say for sure, I don't know anything about the toyota yaris. However, if that system was built to work with older firewire based iPods, then it will not charge new USB based units. There are converters out there you can get do deal with this.

  • Is it possible to just simply sync videos to Fifth generation ipod?

First of all I am new with the ipod, and I am not familiar with this certain issues regarding videos on the ipod"
My question is that do you have to watch videos or TV shows that you download on itunes? Or can you just simply automatically sync the video or TV show to your Fifth Generation ipod without viewing the content my itunes librairy?
Thank who all that can help me.
Windows XP   Windows XP Home Edition (with Service pack 2)

I guss I'm not being clear, but here it goes again....
I click buy on the iTunes Store
It asks for my user name and password
Then it downloads my vid or what not
    Then I sync my iPod
As far as I knew this was standered practice, in other words if you aready have on the computer you bought it on then you don't need to authorize it again unless you trasfer it to another computer.
    Right?!?!
P.S. assuming you agree with me and every one else that buys from iTunes then yes you did say you need to authorize media twice.
The bottom line is that you must authorize your computer in order to transfer purchased videos and music to the iPod.
To do this you need to play a part of the video on your computer. It need only be a few seconds of it.
You can authorize up to 5 different computers.
If you cannot play any purchased videos on a computer, you cannot authorize it.
Authorize when you buy it then as above play it on your computer to authorize it!!!!

Hello. I have a fifth generation iPod Touch and I just downloaded and installed Find My Friends. I have used this program before and I know that I have to tap Me and scroll down to sign out.
