Connecting the IPOD to a TV

Whenever I connect the IPOD to the TV I am not able to see anything on the TV.At times I am able to hear the sound but not able to see anything.Do I need to change any settings on the TV or the Ipod to view the picture ?

Satwinder,
WHICH cable did you buy? From Apple? There are many different cables, some from Apple, some from other vendors. And not all of them work with the iPod. So first let's make sure you have a compatible cable. Sometimes the vendors will list a bunch of iPods as being compatible, when they really are not.
Second, there is a setting under the video settings of the iPod for setting up the video output for PAL or NTSC. What does India use? Double check the iPod settings and make sure you are outputting the correct format.
Here is a manual if you need to look up where to find settings and how to use your iPod with a TV...

I just bought a new laptop and my ipod nano will not stay connected to my computer. When I first connect the ipod it starts to sync on my ipod but not on itunes. The ipod is initially connected to my computer, I can see it when I look on devices in my computer. However, when it finishes syncing it is no longer detected to my computer. I cannot transfer any of my songs to my new laptop because of this. I have tried to reinstall itunes, reset my ipod and use a different port. None of these things worked. Any ideas?

How do I sync my music onto an old iPod when my music is located on iTunes match? I have connected the iPod to my mac but it indicates no music to sink (as my music is stored in the cloud). Hi,
Your old pod can only sync with music that is physically in your itunes library and on your hard drive. Therefore there is simple way to resolve is to download your music to your hard drive.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I want to connect the ipod directly to the car 's speakers without any amplifiers, is there any danger to burn the ipod?

I want to connect the ipod directly to the car 's speakers without any amplifiers, is there any danger to burn the ipod?

No, but it will not work. The iPod does not have an amplifier in it that is powerful enough to drive the speakers in your car.
So, do you have a stereo in the car, either factory fitted or one you have had fitted after it came out of the factory? If you do, check to see if the car's stereo either has a dedicated input for an iPod or an auxilary (aux input) socket.
Some modern cars (for example, my 2006 model Mazda 3) have stereos that can be fitted with iPod connectors. I paid to have one fitted to my Mazda's factory-fitted stereo. So now, I connect my iPod to the car's stereo via a dock connector and I have limited control of the iPod from the car's steering wheel. Some cars have more sophisticted control than mine does.
Alternatively, if the car's stereo has an Aux input socket, you only need to buy a headphone-to-headphone lead and connect from the iPod's headphone socket to the Aux input.
If you don't have either of those options, another method is to use a transmitter. These small radio transmitters are connected into the headphone socket of the iPod and then transmit the audio (like radio) so that you can tune your car's radio to the same frequency as the transmitter. You control the iPod as you do when using headphones. The sound quality will porbably not be as good as the dedicated dock connector method, but it's reasonable.

So you connect the iPod to an USB port, and then your computer immediately restarts with no further action from you? That's very odd...
Try removing all USB peripherals (including any hubs) except for your keyboard and mouse, and then connect the iPod directly to one of the USB ports on the computer. If that makes it work, connect your devices one at a time.
thanks that works i finally can use my ipod

  • I tried to update my iPod and now it's saying that iTunes cannot connect the iPod. What should I do?

I updated my iTunes and then went to update my iPod to the newer 4.2 version that it kept asking me to and now it says that iTunes cannot connect the iPod. My iPod is now unusbale because the screen on the iPod itself shows that i need to connect it to iTunes, but when I do, there's an error message that pops up telling me that iTunes cannot connect it. • HT1386 I have IPod touch running iOS 5.1.1 and Windows 7 with iTunes 11.0.4.4. When I connect the IPod to my PC, iTunes recognizes it but before synching can get very far, it is interrupted by "charging not supported on this acc." Now what to do?

I'm having trouble with the wi-fi synch for iTunes and would be happy if I could just synch by the USB cable. With the new iOS, the connection to iTunes seems to get broken every time the dreaded "charging not supported with this accessory" appears, which is only a few seconds into the synch. Since my PC is obviously not an Apple brand charger, IPod won't stop producing this message. Using the Dismiss button doesn't resolve the issue because synch has already stopped. It looks like the hardwire to PC option is now dead.

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
