Connecting the Wireless Music Sys

I recently purchased the Wireless Music System and hooked it up according to the instructions. The issue I have is that I cannot get any music out of my stereo receiver. From the remote I am able to access all of the tracks on my computer, but when I select play I get nothing out of the stereo system. Should the remote show the track is playing by showing it is counting the secons of the track? Mine only highlights the track after I hit the play button, and shows the name of the track when I go through the now playing portion. The track will play on my computer, so it appears they are ok. I verified the stereo input works by hooking a CD player to the input w/ the same cables and it played fine. Any help anyone might have on this would be greatly aprreciated.

It doesn't appear to be having difficulty connecting, but this is a new install for me so I have no reference point. The stereo receiver I am using is about 0 years old, but it has a hook-up for a CD and I verified they work, so I assumed it should be ok. Is there any reason to believe it would not be capable of handling the MP3 data through these same inputs? I will check into the firmware when I get home. Thanks for the suggestions.

I am a fan of DOTA, sometimes i play it with my roommate. But after i installed win8, my roommate and i can not connect to each other. He used win7 to set up a wireless network, but i could not find the network. And i used win8 to set up a

    Hi,
As you said, the other laptop couldn't see the adhoc network.
I suggest you use the following method to re-create the adhoc network.
Firstly, please use the following command to verify that your network interface supports virtualization.
    netsh wlan show drivers
If Hosted network supported says Yes, please enter the following commands to configure an ad hoc wireless connection.
    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=<network name> key=<passkey>
Then, you need to start the mode to create an ad hoc connection. Please enter the command below.
    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

  • I tried connecting the wireless network to my hp envy 114, it says the paraphrase is invalid?

i bought this new Hp Envy 114 today and i tried to connect it to my router, but it couldnt connect. Then i followed the trobleshoot steps and restarted everything(printer, router, and computer), and i went back to the trobleshoot page and typed every information of my router to my printer, but it ended up saying that the Paraphrase/password is invalid, and i haven't changed it.

On your router, remove the password completely and now try to connect with no password.  Once successful, go back and add your security password back and now try again with your printer.

  • Soundblaster Wireless Music - receiver is connected but no so

I have a SB Wireless music receiver (purchased in March '05).
It was working just fine for 3 months, then nothing. After several attempts reistalling, rebooting, etc (including several emails back and forth with Creative Americas Cusotmer Support, it was determined that my receiver might be defecti've. I was given an RMA#, I returned the receiver (under warranty), and got it back yesterday.
I am experiencing the SAME problem I was experiencing before I sent it in (see below).
My wireless receiver IS DEFINTITELY communicating through my wireless router, as I can clearly see my library, playlists, etc. on the RF remote display. When I try to play music, I can access my library, playlists, etc. I select a track and hit the play button. Everything shows up on the remote display, but the counter is not counting, e.g. 00:00:00 is displayed in the upper left hand corner of the RF, and consequently, I get no sound from my stereo, and yes, it IS connected correctly via the RCA cables.
Any suggestions? And thanks in advance,
    Chris

Do you mean you entered 3 characters to generate your WEP key? A WEP 28 key is normally represented as a string of 26 hexadecimal digits (valid hexadecimal digits are 0 through F, where decimal is 0 through 9). You may enter a passphrase to generate your hex key, that's what I did on my Netgear router, but then the actual WEP key shows up in my Key field in the router setup as a string of 26 hex digits. If you just enter 3 regular characters this represents a string of 26 hex numbers. Here's some examples of ASCII character to hex conversions; the letter -lower case "g" is a hex "67", a space " " is a hex "20", a upper case "L" is a hex "4C". It is the string of 26 hex digits that must be entered into the wireless music setup for WEP 28.

  • Connecting the time capsule to a wireless network (university)

I just purchased my first mac computer, and the time capsule. I am a university student, and my housing has wireless network, so i would need to configure it to that network (which requires registration). When I first opened everything up, I could see the time capsule in the airport utility, but now I cannot. I dont really know where to go from here, because all of the manuals go from being able to detect the time capsule. On top of that how do I connect the wireless to the registration required network? Any help is much appreciated.

how can I use the time capsule as a "wifi acceptor" to connect with my wireless network, and then boardcasting wifi signal to my devices?
    Unfortunately, this is not possible.
In order to broadcast a wireless network with Internet access, the Time Capsule must be provided with a wired Ethernet connection at its WAN "O" port.
Check wtih your Internet Service Provider to see if they have an adapter or other device that will provide a wired Ethernet connection to the Time Capsule.

  • Want wireless music, but wired internet

is there a way to use the airport express for my music, but then run an ethernet cable stright to my computer, and use them both at the sametime. (to use the wireless music i have had to switch to wireless airport, then the internet doest work w/ the ethernet connected to my computer)

"i need the computer to be connected not wirelessly, but to the computer"
I am not sure what this means?
If you get a cheap router, you can connect via ethernet. Your express will join the network wirelessly.

  • Wireless Music System Issue in Windows 7

I've been using the wireless music system for a few years and love it. However, I have an issue with it in Windows 7. all the software installs fine and appears to be functioning correctly. I did notice that the updated software driver does give me a network not ready error.
The main issue I have been unable to solve is when starting the media server it shows it's running at the address of 27.0.0. not the address of the machine. With it running at this address the receiver never can find the server.
I haven't been able to configure the receiver as I get a error message saying there is a problem with the wirelss network. when i do plug in the receiver, it lists the name I named it under XP. I am able to ping the device from Windows 7 as well as two other XP machines so it has retained it's address. When I boot back into XP it connects fine. I don't think the issue is with the receiver since when I go back to XP everything works fine.
Does anyone have an idea how to make the media server run on the IP address of the computer itself rather than the local host address? I noticed also that in the properties for windows media player in the network section in Windows 7 it also shows that it is running on the same 27.0.0. address.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I hate to think I might have to come up with something new.

hi, to get past this stage of the instalation you need to use a usb wired mouse, this means a mouse that has a wire and usb to plug into your mac.
the onscreen keyboard can be found if you click on the icon on the bottom left of the setup screen (looks similar to a wheelchair sgn)
a usb wireless mouse or keyboard will not work because the wireless drivers are not yet installed in windows. they will install along with all other drivers when you open the bootcamp drive (can be found in win7; "my computer"
in win 8; "this pc") and click on setup exe. this installs bootcamp on the windows side and installs all the drivers that you downloaded while originally running bootcamp assistant.

  • Wireless Music doesn't work with new software

    Hello-
I can't get my wireless music to work after I update the software to the latest version. The only one that will work is when I install it from the CD. But, I would like to use the most recent version of the software. As soon as I update, the Media Server won't launch on my computer. I am using a linksys WRT54G wireless router. If I check DHCP clients, the wireless music receiver is successfully getting an IP address. I have tried all of the things that linksys suggested (disable WEP, firewall, broadcast SSID, etc...) to no avail. Has anyone gotten the latest media server software to work with WRT54G? I have tried it on both my XP and W2K machine, with the same results (doesn't work).
    Thanks,
    Rich

    <SPAN>Hi Jeremy
<SPAN>I have the similar problem, I've installed the software on my desktop, no error messages (apart from the certificate) and everything seems to be fine. After about 2 minutes the message appears that the network is not ready and consequently the media server is not running.
<SPAN>Without the server running I can't setup the Network and the entire system is not working. I could ping it but that was about it.
<SPAN>I've reset my router, renamed the SSID, tried with and without WEP, MAC, without firewall, opened a new account on my desktop with admin rights installed the software again into a new folder - result still not working, same error message.
<SPAN>To make really bad, I installed it on my laptop, same procedure and it works fine! So it seem that it has nothing to do with my wireless devices or configurations, there must be a problem while setting up the software on my desktop.
<SPAN>I really would appreciate your help a lot!

how can i designate the location of the purchased music from itune store?, how can i designate the location of the purchased music from itune store?

    Hi,
Thanks.  I know how to do that, however, I thought it only works with the imported content not the purchased ones.  The reason for wanting this was that I keep all my music in NAS drive for SONOS (the wireless music system) will need the music to be in NAS so that it can play music while the mac is on sleep mode.
Anyhow, I will try again and let you know if it does work.
    Thanks again.

  • How to improve the wireless LAN coverage?

    Hi all,
We are using Cisco 1200 access point in our small retail shops and use some wireless heldheld devices to connect the wireless network. Since the shops are inside the shopping plaza, there are many other wireless access point which interference our wireless clients. The access point were installed in the middle of the shop, sometimes, our client walked to the shop entrance (< 10m from the access point), the wireless network was disconnected and it may try to connect the other unknown access point. I tried to change the frequent but it doen't help. We are using a pair of 2.2dBi Dipole Anntenna wit the AP and mount in on the wall (~ 1m above the ground). Is there any suggestions to improve the coverage? Is there any improvement if I use a more powerful anntenna (e.g. 6.5 dBi Wall Mount anntenna)?
    Thanks,
    Dovelet

    Dovelet,
I was going to suggest upgrading your AP to 802.11a but you are probably using Symbol handhelds and they don't support 802.11a yet (for that matter I don't think there is a handheld that supports 802.11a yet).
Use a computer and scan the airwaves to see what APs are out there and what frequency they are on. Configure your AP to a different channel either 1,6 or 11 (that no one else is on).
Put two 6 dBi Patch Wall Mount Antennnas 3 to 4 feet apart on one wall, part # AIR-ANT2460P-R. If you have a long narrow store the patch antennas will be your best bet, They have a narrow beam and you will get less multipath distortion from the radio waves bouncing off your walls. You can also get an Antenna mount kit, part # AIR-ACC2662 to help better aim your patch antennas.
If you have a square or circular store place two omnidirectional antennas in the center of the store, use a high grade low loss cable like part # AIR-CAB100ULL-R. Or for that matter put your current AP high in the center of the store. Run Cat5e cable to it and use a Power Injector to provide power to your AP over the cat5e. You can also add the high gain omnidirctional antennas (2 of them) to this configuration without needing the low loss cable.
These are powerful antennas and you don't want your signal going into the store across the way from you. So take a laptop or your hand held walk across the way to the front of the store and see what kind of signal you get. Reduce the power setting of your AP so the signal doesn't bleed into the store across the way from you and if you use omnidirectional antennas into stores on either side of you.
Make sure you mount the antennas high 8 to 10 feet. I assume you have your Encryption set,SSID broadcast disabled and your handhelds configured to only connect to your APs SSID.
    Hope this helps.

  • Wireless Music: Product Stat

    Hi there,
does anyone know if Creative still consider the Wireless Music system as a "li've" product?
I've just been trawling the forum looking for info about drop outs and freezes, and found a thread where the moderator was kind enough to email a test version of a new firmware to those that requested it. This thread started months ago and as far as I can see this firmware has still not been posted to the official download site. This seems to imply that Wireless Music isn't receiving much love & attention from Creative. Are we likely to see any further development of the system in the future?
I love the LCD remote supplied with the system but with a large song library finding a particular track can take far too long. Are there any plans to update the software in the remote to either improve the scrolling speed or improve the search facilities?
    Cheers,
    Q.

    Cat,
Please pass along the bug with accented characters in the Artist name like M?tley Crue. Using the remote if you go in by artist to the albums under the artist and then select the album, nothing displays. If you go in directley from albums it works fine. This is a software bug that's been identified for about a year now and nothing has been done to correct it. As can be seen by this example and others there appears to be a black hole somewhere between the moderators and the developers (if there are any).

Generally will say NO per ATT info.  One user posted he got it working, he knew what he was doing.  There are certain attributes that have to be on the router for it to work.   802.1p and IGMP snooping were needed on the 3rd party router.
