Connecting through an HDMI connector that has two HDMI inputs ports and one output port

I have an LCD TV with only one HDMI port which connects to the digital cable box. I bought a HDMI switching device, but have not been able to get the Apple TV to display on the TV. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

AppleTV has always been fickle about HDMI connections - it is likely a compatability issue with the switch.
Presumably the other device connected works ok?

As HDMI is the only supported method there will no guarantee with any converter.
DVI doesn't tranfer audio so you would have to either go through optical to connect speakers, or use a DAC in connection with analogue speakers.
Also, unless the TV is HDCP compliant you will be unable to play protected content (ie iTunes, Netflix)

I purchased a 27 inch display and am struggling to find a simple way to convert the Mini Displayport that leaves the display to my 13 inch MBP that has a Thunderbolt input? I cannot seem to find a simple adapter or cable. The Mini Displayport is connected to the display and cannot be removed. The mini displayport cable fits into the Thunderbolt plug....but does nothing. Any solution is appreciated!

It should work plugged into the Thunderbolt port. No adapter is needed. Is the plug pushed in all the way (no metal showing)?
Is the display's power cord plugged in to a power outlet?

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

I am trying to separate a field that has two elements which is separated by a ~. Example reference 1 field is aaa~bbb
I think I need to use a substr and instr function but I am not sure of what the exact calculation should be.

I've managed to get the first part to work i.e get back the first part of the field before the ~ aaa by using this syntax SUBSTR("Reference 1",1,INSTR("Reference 1",'~',1,1)-1).
But I am not sure of the exact syntax to retrieve the second part of the field bbb.
I'd be grateful if anyone can help. Thanks

I had the exact same issue!! Seriously p*ssed me off when I checked out my ITunes purchased items (via my computer) and noticed that most of the additional tracks listed on my IPhone playlist was listed there too. However, I never authorized any purchases!! (I have actually written Apple Support asking for a full refund of all tracks listed on my purchased list)
Be careful when you swipe your finger to the left/right on those "additional" tracks on your IPhone playlist... I'm pretty sure that the cloud symbol is an option to download or automatically buy those tracks.
Solution for the problem:
1 - go to your IPhone settings
2 - choose "iTunes & App Store"
3 - go to "Show All" & "Music"
4 - turn off "Music" by moving the bar to the left (it should be a white color once you turn it off)

Have you tried HELP in FINDER? If you open HELP and enter 'displays' in the field in the upper right hand corner you will get a list of topics on setting up monitors. Specifically read 'Setting up multiple displays to show the same image' and 'Setting up multiple displays as an extended desktop'.

My iPhone has two lists of calendars. One is On My iPhone, which has a list of "plain" calendars (e.g. Business) and not-so-plain calendars (e.g. Business[[email protected]@calendar]. (I think the last word is calendar. All I can see on the phone is... @ca)
Then I also have a list of MobileMe calendars. Both lists are identical with iCal, except for the bracketed items. They also are the same with the bracketed info added. Don't know where the bracketed items came from. Don't know which, if any I can/should delete.
And MobileMe doesn't seem to sync properly, probably because I'm using the wrong calendar (the On MobileMe list). This all has developed over the last weekend when my MobileMe account was closed and I had to create a new account and sync set-up--with the help of Apple staff.

You can uncheck multiple songs by selecting all the songs you want to uncheck, then right-click and choose "uncheck selection". Also, make sure that you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos" on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings or the sync process will ignore your selections.
You can remove all the photos from your camera roll using Preview on your Mac. Connect your phone to your Mac, open Preview, go to File>Import from iPhone. When your photos appear in Preview, select the photos you want to delete, then click on the icon at the bottom showing the red circle with the diagonal line through it (see image below), then click Delete.
To remove photos from the Photo Stream album on your phone you'll have to either reset Photo Stream (deleting all the photos from iCloud) or turn off Photo Stream on your phone.

As far as I know, Sony Ericsson Z520, like a lot of the other cell phones, doesn�t support bluetooth serial communication.

If you ask me, we have done similar project.
We are working on hobby project � our robot use J2ME cell phone as on-board brain.
And there is connection between this small robot and Linux-based PC.
Communication was done via BlueTooth (in reality we use Linux implementation of BlueTooth stack and obexftp).
BUT (!) We use Siemens S75 for this communication.
I�m afraid that Siemens is the only manufacture, which implemented serial communication over bluetooth, embedded camera and non-usb socket.
Also there are some Motorola phones, which implement serial communication over bluetooth.
But � note that all Motorola phones use USB sockets and it will not be easy for you to make connection between such a phone and the robot.
If you need just connection between cell phone and PC, then may be USB is OK too.

If you previous synced to the computer then you may be able to recovery use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:
Disabled Recovery-must use syncing computer.
Otherwise y have to erase the iPod
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Drive Preparation
1. If you are preparing an external or a non-startup drive, then open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
