Connecting to a philips led tv

I am having problem to detect the apple tv unit on this Philips led tv. Probably I need to select another unit than "other". Any suggestions?

Sounds like it. Do you see the status light though? If not then it's either not on or there are other issues.

  • How to connect MBP to Philips HD ready TV with DVI-I

I've managed to connect my Macbook Pro (bought Jan 2013) to my Philips HD ready TV (model number 37PF5520D/10) with the following cables:-
    1) Cables 4 ALL Supreme 2M DVI-I Cable / Dual Link 24+5 Pins / Gold Plated / HDTV
    2) Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter cable by Neet® - ( for Unibody MacBook - Pro - Air etc. )
Getting picture no problem - but no sound.
I understand that I need a separate audio cable. I tried a 3.5mm cable from MBP into DVI audio socket on TV - but NO sound.
What cable to I need to be able to get sound along with vision?
    Thanks if you can help,
    Knightonday

You need to set the Audio in on the TV. This is from page 16 of your TV's manual:

  • How to connect a new 27" LED Cinema Display to an older Mac Mini?

I bought a 27" LED Cinema Display (no Thunderbolt) but don't know how to connect it to my wife's older Mac Mini. I presume the Atlona adaptor is the solution, but I haven't bougt one yet.
    robbert keegel

The cord attached to the display splits into a Mini DisplayPort, USB, and a MagSafe connector (for powering a laptop).
There is a separate connector on the back of the display for the AC power cord.

  • Connect Two 24-inch LED displays to 1 graphics card??

    Hi,
Please can someone offer me some advice.
I am using a 2.93 Quad Core Mac Pro with 2 GT120 graphics cards and two 24inch LED displays.
Is it possible to connect these displays to only 1 Graphics card?..
    Kindest Regards.

A component such as this one can be used to connect that display to a DVI port.

Click here for one. The link is to a PDF. Aside from a converter such as this, a graphics card with a Mini DisplayPort is needed.

  • Connecting X230 to Philips Miracast enabled Smart TV

I have a new X230 which came with Intel WiDi installed.  I am trying to connect it to a Philips Smart TV which the folks at Philips tell me should work with WiDi.  The TV is Miracast enabled.
When I run the Intel WiDi software, the Philips TV appears as an available device.
When I click to connect, the software asks for a PIN number and at the same time a PIN number appears on the TV screen.  I enter this in the box provided by the software.
There is a pause of 15 - 45 seconds, and then there is a message on the TV : "Step 2/2.  Connected.  Starting playback."
This is quickly replaced by a message on the TV "Failed to playback".
The WiDi software remains at the "Connecting..." screen.
I feel I am pretty close to getting this to work, but not sure what to do to actually succeed.
I have already updated the WiDi software and drivers to the latest available on the Lenovo site:
    Intel WiDi - 4.2.19.0
Intel HD Graphics driver - 9.18.10.3359
    Intel PROSet/Wireless software 16.1.3
Any thoughts or suggestions would be very welcome.

    X230 (2325-77G) running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Following my last post, I went out and bought a Netgear Push2TV which provides Miracast connection to a TV via a small external unit box.  With this I was able to establish a WiDi connection from my X230, albeit after a little messing about.  When the connection was first made, the TV screen remained blank.  I had to right click on the desktop and select Graphics Options > Output To > Clone Displays > Built in display and WiDi.  The display then appeared on the TV.
Since then, Phillips have released a firmware upgrade for the Phillips 32PFL4258M/08 TV I have, and the X230 WiDi now works directly with the TV's Miracast facility.  My Kindle Fire HDX also now works with the TV's Miracast, albeit the reproduction is not great.
The resolution with the Phillips TV's Miracast is, for reasons only known to Phillips, limited to 720p albeit the TV itself is full HD.  The 720p is notably less sharp than the Netgear Push2TV's 1020p, so I shall continue to use the Netgear Push2TV, which works extremely well.
    I hope this helps someone.

  • No connection, and the power led on my router keeps blinking!!

    Any help would be great!

Ok, you are not going to believe this, but I was having the same problem and now it is fixed!
First, I am no hardware guru, so for those of you who find my fix to be common sense, at least cut me some slack for trying every possible soultion :-)
First, I bought this Linksys model to replace MY EXISTING router, which I think is the W065 or something, a very good G model.
So when I hooked up the E3000, I did what evey lazy gamer does who's in a hurry.....I USED THE OLD, ALREADY CONNECTED, POWER CORD!!
Apparently, this old power cord does not provide enough power or something, because the router simply kept getting stuck in diagnostic mode (flashing power LED). it would occasionally stabalize, but only to eventually (usually inside of 5 minutes) reverting back to Diag mode and loosing all connectivity.
MORAL OF THE STORY: ONLY USE THE POWER CORD THAT SHIPPED WITH THE E3000!!
Hope this helps someone, cuz it drove me insane!!

  • How to power on Macbook via connected Apple keyboard via LED Cinema Display

This is just a bit of daily annoyance, but...
Is there a way to power on my Macbook via the cable-connected keyboard to the display?
I saw a power button on the Apple wireless keyboard and thinking about switching to it.
Is anyone able to power up the Macbook and display via the wireless keyboard?
Yeah yeah...I know..I could lift screen on my Macbook and push the power button as usual.

My MacBook wakes up by itself. I haven't been able to determine anything that might be triggering it. I've tried all the fixes I've been able to find in previous discussions, but it still wakes up randomly.
    Any suggestions?

  • MHL connection to a Sony Led TV

I recently purchased a Sony TV that has an MHL connection option.  Do any of the iPad models support this format so I can connect directly into the TV?

You can connect via a cable or wireless using an Apple TV.

    No.

  • Connected a new 27" LED display and only get 1280 resolution

Ok....got the monitor connected through the adapter (AD-TP400) and only get 1280 resolution....how do I get the full res on this monitor?

Interesting. I have your monitor directly connected to a 2010 Mac Pro which has the mini displayport built into the video card. I also still have the original Mac Pro (1,1) it replaced and that has the NVIDIA GeoForce 7300GT with 2 DVI ports, the one on the right being dual-link.
Where did you get the AD-TP400 adapter? I've searched on that part number and can't find it anywhere. I do see that Apple lists a connector which can do that but there is no part number associated with it.

  • The connection with the Philips picopix doesn't work

i have connect it with a hdmi transmitter. The computer notice the connection, but the screen will not show.
    How can i solve this

    Hi Geer1968,
I've got similar problems. I recently bought a Phillips PicoPix 3410 and I'm unable to get any images from my Mac sources.
I tried to connect it to my MacBook Pro via an HDMI adapter and the HDMI-MiniHDMI cable of the box --> no result, the Mac screen flickers but no screen was detected nor an image sent to the beamer.
I bought then the PicoPix iPhone cable and tried to connect my iPad 2 (and with the adapter), my iPhone 5 to the beamer and still no result.
I tried to connect my MacBook Pro to an external Screen via vga. This works fine. But before bying another, may be useless, cable from Phillips, I would like to know if you've managed to solve this problem and how you did it.
I installed Yossemite on my Mac and still no luck with the beamer connection.
    Best regards.

    Buy these:

Be wary of others, apple puts a chip in their cables because of copyright laws & DRM. Some cheaper alternatives lack this chip & won't work.
