Connecting to a samsung sf-565p printer via windows pc

Hey guys,
I can't seem to set up my printer though os x, is there any walkthrough step by step instructions anywhere that I can use, when I try to select the printer model samsung isn't in the list. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I also checked that sites:
http://www.samsung.com/he/support/productsupport/download/Model_Select.aspx?type =MultiFunction+Printer&typecode=16&subtype=LaserMFP&cmssubtypecode=1601&model=SF-565P&filetype=DR&language=
and couldn't find one as well for os x.
Try gimp, it might work:

and :

Why do I keep getting "Connection failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME" when trying to print on Windows networked printer over wi-fi?

If I run the following (on the machine I'm trying to set up the share)
    smbclient -L localhost -U%
    I got the following output
Connection to localhost failed (Error NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED)
so I thought it might be something incorrect with the iptables side of things, however I haven't really touched that at all and it seems to look correct
    iptables -nvL
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 667 packets, 79977 bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT 157 packets, 20724 bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
So from my (very little) knowledge this appears correct (I think)... However it appears that something is blocking access somewhere.

  • Accessing printer via windows 8 pc

I am attempting to connect to a Sumsung Laser ML 1660 printer using the Airport as a printer server, my other computers on Windows 98 and 7 work fine, but just do not seem to be able to see the printer and connect to it.

There is no bonjour for windows 8 yet.. this is required to access apple network resources on the PC.
You might be able to share it from the windows computer.. 98 that is going back some..

  • How to connect 10.9 Mac to USB printer via E2500 router?

So I've established that Linksys Connect software is incompatible with a Mac running OS 10.9 Mavericks.
Is Linksys Connect the only way to connect a Mac with a printer connected to the E2500 router? Or is there another way to make it work?

New operating systems and older software always have compatibly issues. Recently firmware updates have been pushed out. Maybe one will come for the E2500.
In a business environment you would normally share out the printer from a server or PC. Sharing from a router will be problematic.
How about the reverse; sharing the printer from the MAC to the PC? Do you have an old computer lying around you can turn into a Printer server? I just had a thought, there are actual printer server devices made for this as well.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • HP Laserjet 1020 connected to Airport Express - Can't Print from Windows XP

    Hi,
I have been using Airport Express for almost a year now, and it works fine with my old LaserJet 1200 connected to it, meaning that BOTH my ThinkPad(WinXP) and PowerBook(OSX 10.3) prints off the printer nicely. Last week I bought a LaserJet 1020 to replace the old printer. Now I can only print off my Mac, and not the ThinkPad.
    Here are some additional information:
    - Airport Express has been updated with latest updates.
    - Using newest printer driver available from the HP website.
    - New printer works when connected to ThinkPad via USB.
    - New printer works when connected to Airport Express and printing performed using my PowerBook.
Therefore, My conclusion is that Airport Express and Printer is working just fine, and that it's just my ThinkPad not being configured correctly. (Although at the back of my head I am guessing that just MAYBE it's the Airport Express not accepting a different printer)
This is what I did to install the printer from my ThinkPad to work with Airport Express (which is not working):
    1. Add a printer
    2. Local printer attached to computer (no auto detect)
    3. Selected existing TCP/IP port 10.0.1.1
    4. Selected my new printer driver
    5. Finish
I also tried a few things like:
    - Deleting the TCP/IP port and creating it again before installing the new printer again.
    - Off both airport express and printer and on again after about 10sec.Airport was on first, and after the LED turn green, printer was turned on and USB plugged into airport.
    - Restarting my ThinkPad.
I have tried everything that I can think of, and nothing worked... hence this posting to get professional help.

    Hi,
You might want to download and install bonjour for windows to your Thinkpad it is how I got my roomates XP laptop to print on AX.

  • Wireless printing to Sharp printer via windows network

I finally convinced my mother to buy a Macbook Pro, and most things have been great. Except this: she can't print at her office, mega issue!
I don't know anything about the network or really about the printer. Her office manager had to type the MBPs IP address into the firewall before we could connect to the wireless network, and now the internet works fine. But we can't figure out the printing situation. When we add printer (under the IP option) we type in the IP of the printer, the MBP finds the printer, and it says the printer is idle. It knows the model number (Sharp AR-M550) and even knows the toner levels. However, when we go to print, nothing happens. We've tried the IPP, LPD, and Jetsocket options. Nothing works.
It is an old printer, but it does have Mac Drivers (we have downloaded the latest 10.6 driver for it) No one at her office knows what to do, this is the first mac ever in that building. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hello and welcome to Apple Discussions.
There could be a couple of causes for the Mac to fail with printing.
    1. The printer does not support Postscript. For a number of office printers, the Postscript kit is an option. If you are trying to print to it with a Postscript driver (the Mac driver you downloaded for 10.6) but the device only supports PCL or a Sharp proprietary language, then you will not get any output.
Since there are Windows PCs printing to the copier I suggest you get one of them to do a Windows test print. This will confirm the IP address of the printer and show which printer driver language they are using. As I mentioned, it may be a Sharp proprietary language, which could be a problem as these languages usually only have a driver for Windows - not for Mac.
If they are using PCL then you can open System Preferences > Print & Fax, select the Sharp printer queue and open Options & Supplies. Under the driver tab you can select the print driver. If you change this from what it is currently using to Generic PCL Laser Printer, this will let her print but there is no finishing function (like stapling) but at least it supports duplex (two-sided) printing. Note also that the Generic PCL does not support color, it only prints in b&w.
With regards to the IP protocol, HP Jetdirect-Socket would be the best option. IPP is not always enabled and LPD can require a particular queue name.
    2. If the printer does support Postscript then some office printers also have a job control function. This is often used to restrict color printing and when enabled, it can stop the Mac from printing. If the device is a copier and users need to enter and ID/Password to perform color copying then this would indicate it has this function.
You can often check the setup of the printer by entering its IP address into a web browser. This will open its internal web page which shows details about the device, such as the printer languages supported, protocols enabled and if this job control is enabled.
If the device does have some form of job control enabled then there is often a setting within the driver that lets you enter the appropriate details. Sometimes you can see this via the Driver tab mentioned above. If there is no setting there then you can check the driver menus when you select to print.
Anyway, that's about all I can suggest you check. The fact that you can get toner levels indicates that there is a path between the Mac and the printer, so at least you know it is not network related, unless the printer ports are being blocked but I don't think this is likely - especially so if the Windows users are connecting via the same wireless network.
See how you go with this information and reply if you need more help.

  • Hp printer 6820 not printing via Windows 8

The printer was initially setup with the wizard on the Desktop. All other systems can print include two Apple Mac laptops, a Windows 7 laptop,  iphones, android based phone and tablet.
On the Windows 8 desktop, the system worked and then stopped working. That is becomes unavailable in Windows 8 and goes offline.  The printer has a host name. I used the HP web access page to connect to the printer and change the name and it works for a while, i.e. the printer is back online in Windows 8. The router appears to use a different name. The HP 6820 printer seems to pickup the name from the router. Changed the name on the router to the name I want and now the printer cannot be reached from desktop.  All other operating systems print just fine to the printer but not windows 8
    Any clue?

Your HP Printer will acquire its LAN address via DHCP (from a range of IP Addresses) OR
a Specific IP Address (Static, Assigned IP) from your home (or office) Router.
The printer's Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) connection will have an IP address AND
if you have a wired Ethernet port (like 6830) that will be another IP address.
My Preferred Method (Best Practice) is to Configure the Home Router (Administration) to Assign Static IP Addresses to the Home Network (LAN) Printer. Most Router setup screens will use the Ethernet MAC Address (port) to properly assign IP Address to each port.
In this way, you don't have to worry about "reassigned" IP addresses for the printer, due to LAN changes, or during reboots of the router.

  • Printing via windows 7 with printers hosted on xp machines

Hi im having a real issue with my windows 7 machines when printing
I have a hp colour laserjet cp5225n that is set up locally on a windows xp machine, from the local machine that it is connected to it prints colour fine but if you try to print from any of the machine connected via the network it will only print parts of the page in colour and the rest in black and white.
I have checked the drivers and they all have the hp universal pcl6 driver installed, also on the features tab some are set to colour whist other are set as no against colour.
    can anyone help please?

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

  • Macbook will not connect to printer via the network

I have my G5 computer connected to my home network airport extreme with an ethernet cable. I have a new Canon MX 860 (which will work over a network) which is also connected to the airport extreme with an ethernet cable (wired lan connection). The G5 and the Canon work well together; printing and scanning etc.
I have a Macbook that will not connect to the Canon via the network. I have checked and rechecked the setup and am stumped. I get various failure notices:
"The "Canon..." printer could not be found in your list of printers" (altho it is listed)
"Unable to get printer status (forbidden)"
"Status: In use, Default" (altho the printer is ready and not in use)
"Operation could not be completed -client-error-not-possible"
Both computers are setup for printer sharing and the printer list allows the Canon to be shared.
The network works well supporting Macbook and several Tivos.
Any help on what I should try next?
    Thanks for any suggestions
    John

    Hello John,
For starters, you don't need printer sharing enabled. Since the MX860 is connected to the extreme via Ethernet, then the MacBook should be able to connect directly to the MX860 via wireless or wired.
For either type of connection, you need to add the printer via More Printers > Canon IJ Network. You should not connect via the Default browser view, as this will only show the shared printer via the G5 (which you should disable). In fact, based on the errors you are getting, it does sound like you have added the printer by selecting the shared offering.
So I would delete the current printer queue and add again, using the More Printers > Canon IJ Network menu. This window should show the MX860 with its MAC address in brackets. When you select it and press Add, the printer will be created with a name something like 'Canon MX860 series (00.00.85.xx.xx.xx)'.
If the printing still fails with the printed added as above, then please reply.

  • Printing from Windows XP via an Airport Express

This might be helpful for anyone who has the same problem with their printer...
If you configure an printer via windows connecting via tcp/ip default most people use RAW_9100 or LPR, problem is that so far all printers I tested from Canon seem to have problems with LPR and completely do not work with RAW_9100...
    Fix:
Simply change the RAW port to 9101, don't forget to remove all tasks from your printer queue first before changing.
If other people have the same problem and maybe a other solution please post here

Yes this finally made my Canon S300 print from XP while connected to an Airport Express. Other Macs on the network could print just fine. The XP Bonjour Printer Wizard was absolutely useless in trying to create a working printer. Here are the steps I took.
START > Settings > Printers and Faxes
    “Add a printer”
    Click Next
“Local printer attached to this computer”
“Create a new port” / select Standard TCP/IP Port from the pulldown requestor
    Click Next
Enter the IP address of the Airport Express in “Printer Name or IP Address”
While entering the IP address the box below should automatically fill itself in as the same IP address and should insert “IP_” before it (after you have finished entering the first box)
    Click Next
    Check the “Custom” radio button
    Click “Settings” next to it
**this is the important weird part that finally made my Canon printer work**
Change the “Port Number” to 9101
    Click OK
    Click Next
    Click Finish
Select the Brand and Make (driver) of your printer
    I clicked “Keep Existing Driver”
Give it a name or leave the one it created in “Printer Name”
Select whether or not you want it as the default printer
Select whether or not you want to share it (probably not since other can access it over the network in their own way)
Go ahead a print a test page and rejoice when it finally prints (I did)

  • 10.5.3: can't print via Time Capsule

This week, I bought Time Capsule for at home, replacing the AirPort Express we had. I also upgraded my iBook G4 to Leopard (and installed 10.5.3, via ComboUpdater) to by au par with my wife's MacBook (which came with Leopard, and was also upgraded to 10.5.3, via ComboUpdater).
Our printer is a HP LaserJet 1300, connected via USB to Time Capsule (was connected via USB to the AirPort Express).
On my iBook G4 and now with Leopard, I installed the printer (System Preferences) - and now I can't print. I've spent the last couple of hours Resetting printing systems, Resetting Time Capsules, browsing these forums - all to no avail. *Utter frustration!*
Can anybody *especially from Apple* shed a light on what the problem is?
We had two Apple notebooks with 10.4.11, a laser printer and AirPort Express - and it worked fine (printed with no hassles). Now we still have two Apple notebooks, both with 10.5.3, and our laser printer connected to Time Capsule - and we just can't print.
While delving into this mess now, I also connected my iBook straight to the printer (via USB), and could print. But I cannot imagine this to be the solution!!!
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Jan
My TC had to be replaced by apple because it wouldn't show any printers or external hard drives connected via usb. I ended up spending hours on the phone to apple ts and in the end I took my printer and lacie hd to a friend who had a tc and he connected both up to his tc straight away. Apple finally had to replace my TC. The replacement works fine.

  • Samsung SF-565P via USB & APE

    Hi,
I would like to use my Samsung SF-565P (MFP 560-Series) with Leopard. The printer is currently connected to the APE via USB and works perfectly under Windows Vista, but I get an error page printed when trying to print under Mac OS X Leopard (all available updates installed).
    The printed error page says:
    INTERNAL ERROR - FALSE
    POSITION : 0x3c2cb3 (3943603)
    SYSTEM : H6FW/xl_image
    LINE : 476
    VERSION : QPDL 1.21 10-29-2003
I get this error when trying to print a test-page.
The test-page is printed correctly when I attach the printer directly via USB to my Mac.
    Any advice?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sven

Update: I called Apple Support today and they told me, that the Samsung driver is totally outdated (2004). I am lucky that it works via direct USB at all.
I would really like to update the driver, but... there is no newer driver?!
Samsung support is totally useless. They keep replying my mails with texts that say "Don't disturb, we are playing solitaire and have no time for support." - just in a more diplomatic way.
So what to do now? Throw away the $400 printer, ignore Samsung for the rest of my life and get a new printer with leopard support? sigh

  • Samsung laser printer can't print via Airport

I can no longer get my Samsung laser printer (ML-1210) to print via my Airport Extreme Base Station network. All I get is the Printer Center telling me that it can't find the printer. Prior to OS X 10.4.4 and Airport Firmware update 5.7 no problems, after OS X 10.4.4 and Airport Firmware update 5.7 some types of documents (.pdf) would print sometime and some types (.rtd) wouldn't print at all. After OS X 10.4.5 nothing prints.
So far a direct USB connection seems to print OK, as far as regular text files (Rich, and Plain) are concerned.

I tried so many things I'm dizzy. Nothing done to the computer, not even clean installing OS 10.4 on an external HD and booting from that worked. What seems to have finally worked (????) was reverting the AEBS Firmware version down to version 5.5.1.
Since I print so infrequently I'm not going to say it's all OK until I do some more testing/printing.
In the mean time if anyone can give me an specific idea why this conflict may be happening and what else I can do to fix it without running my AEBS with older Firmware I would be grateful.
The latest driver for Samaung ML-1210 is a couple of years old and I think it is a proprietary code (not something standard like PostScript).
I'm not sure if it's only the AEBS Firmware or a combination of conflicts between the "OS Version-Printer Driver-AEBS Firmware".
    Thanks.
