Connecting to AS 400 via 5250 Emulator Session

Hi,
I am trying to connect to an as400 server via the sgd 5250 enhancement package.
I created an testobject where i specified the hostname of the as 400 server and set the port to 23/tcp.
Now I tried to start the application as webtop or independent application but getting both times an :
Error
Launch failed.
Application: .../_ens/o=TDS/cn=5250Test
Fault Code: Server.LaunchFailed
Fault String: Launch failedMessage on the webtop.
What can i do to debug this topic

Hi All,
I've installed SGD 4.3 and licensed it up. However, when I try to launch a 5250 app or even a 3270 app, I get the following error....
Error
Launch failed.
Application: .../_ens/o=TDS/cn=5250Test
Fault Code: Server.ServerDisabled
Fault String: Server is disabled.
Now I know what you're thinking... the server is disabled.. but no, all my other apps work fine. If I disable the server, then I get similar errors with my other apps, but enabling it makes it all work again. Except for the 5250 and 3270 character applications.....
Anybody seen this before?? or have any ideas??

Oh, and just to add as well... With the native client I get the error..
Starting the application...
No host supports the application type(scotta5250application) you are trying to launch.
I'm running SDG on Solaris 10 Sparc.

Can anyone recommend a 5250 emulator that integrates into Plumtree?

I have just recently been working on some code to access an AS/400 via a web technology. I am using MS OLEDB from C#/.NET, but ODBC, and JDBC should work as well. Here is what I believe to be true, but this is all pretty new to me, so there may be some details that are not precise. But, all disclosures aside, I AM CALLING AN AS/400 PROGRAM via OLEDB. I am using the iSeries IBMDA400 OleDb provider.
The good news:
It appears that I can call ANY program on the AS/400 as though it is a stored procedure through OleDB (and ODBC/JDBC as well if there is a JDBC driver ... probably, but I haven't looked for JDBC), and that program does seem to get invoked.
The bad news:
I could never get the input and output arguments to/from the AS/400 program to work properly. So, the invoked AS/400 program never ran correctly. If you don't have arguments, or perhaps if your arg types are simple enough, this may work?
The solution:
I could however create an external stored procedure that called my AS/400 program and I was able to properly map the arguments. I could then call my AS/400 program through the created external stored procedure.
This did work.
There are also 3rd party solutions to this problem. My company uses a product from a vendor named Transoft that has a solution for this that I know does interface from Java to AS/400. And, I know it works ... most of the time.

Connecting 2 G5's Via Firewire

Is it possible to connect to G5 towers via a Firewire 400 cable, and have the 2 Hard drives in G5 A show up on the desktop of G5 B? I remeber reading something a long time ago that said you could do it with the Laptops, but its been so long that I don't remeber precisely how to do it......

Connect them with a FireWire cable and use the Sharing and Network panes of System Preferences to create a FireWire network; you can also start up one computer with the T key held down, but this will only connect to the master hard drive on the ATA 0 bus, or shut that computer down if there is nothing at that location.

motherboard: K7n2 delta, nforce2 ultra
won't allow me to connect to the internet via pci modem
i have got 2 computers with same mobo, can connnect through external 56k
but the 2 internal 56ks (one in each computer), will not connect.
just dials then beeps, or no dialing tone.
the 2 internal ones are differnet makes, but connect through PCI
there must be something wrong with Mobo settings or pci stuff
all internet and modem settings are correct, etc etc etc
can u help
or does anyone have a pci 56k running on that mobo?

If your not hearing dial tone you might have your phone plugged into the wrong port. Most modems have 2 outlets, one is labeled line ( that is the one you should have plugged into the jack (RJ11C). If that's correct, query the modem and see if it tests OK, you may have a defective modem.

Connecting to a cube via a linked server

I want to connect to a SSAS cube via a linked server. When I ran a query against the SSAS cube from directly from the SQL server it runs fine.
If however I run the query in SSMS from my PC I get
OLE DB provider "MSOLAP" for linked server "SSASServer01" returned message "The following system error occurred: .".
Msg 7373, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
Cannot set the initialization properties for OLE DB provider "MSOLAP" for linked server "SSASServer01".
In the properties on the linked server I've defined an account to use for the connection to get round the double hop issue
Any Ideas why I'm still getting the error?

According to your description, you get the error 7373 with message "Cannot set the initialization properties for OLE DB provider "MSOLAP" for linked server "SSASServer01"." when connecting a SSAS cube via linked server.
Right?
In this scenario, based on the error code 7373, it points to the issue of MSOLAP provider, please firstly check the properties setting for MSOLAP. Make sure the "Allow Inprocess" is selected. You may also have other options selected depends on
your query.
Also check if ports for your server (1434 and 2383) are listening proper locally and externally. Please refer to a similar thread below:

My iphone 5 won't make a call when i fail to connect to the internet via 3g

My iphone 5 won't call when i fail to connect to the internet via 3g.
At work i dont have wifi i have 3g, if i launch say the sky go app,or the iplayer, sometimes they work and everything is fine...sometimes they wont load as 3g for whatever reason cant get a connection at that particular time........ if i then try and make a call the call will fail. I've experimented 25 + times and this is definately the cause.
(note: when the 3g connection does work, the phone has absolutely no problem calling people)
Anyone had this problem?
Even better has anyone got a solution?

Are you sure that the carrier's signal is strong where you are having this problem? Certain building structures and locations have poor cellular signal strength and this often results in the "No Service" indication. Are other users able to get service in the same locations where you have problems?

Issue with 2wire dsl router when connecting power pc g4 via ethernet. The 2wire will keep resetting. When I connect my macbook pro via ethernet to the 2wire all is ok, but as soon as i connect the power pc. . . .reset. I have emailed 2wire support. They recommended using a different patch cable. Tried that.. .. anyone else having this issue???? Any help would be appreciated. . .

Search the discussions for issues with 2wire dsl routers. This has come up before in a discussion I've been involved with, but probably not to do with the MDD. I do remember it being a design issue with the router, something that was done to it before dispatch.
Let us know if you can't find it and we'll have a look.
If you afford it, bin the 2wire and go buy something decent like a Netgear.

First, make sure your TV is tuned to display the correct input signal. Most TVs have several inputs (multiple HDMIs, cable connections, RCA etc) so double-check that you're using the correct one - HDMI1, HDMI2 or whatever is written next to the port.
I assume that you have a mini-Displayport to HDMI adaptor? If you open displays preferences, first tick the box that says "show display preferences in menu bar" then locate the menu and click Detect Displays. See if that helps.

I have my MacBook connected to my HDTV via mini DVI to HDMI and the picture is perfect, but I cannot make the sound work. I've tried going to sound under system preferences but my tv is not listed as a device. Do you know how I can make the sound work?

You need an audio cable to connect your Mac's audio out port to your TV's audio in port. The minidisplayport does not send sound.

I know this is a long shot... but I figured I would give it a try.
My macbook pro suddenly does not connect to the internet via ethernet cable. Please bear with me, as I am not very tech-savvy - I will try my best to describe the symptoms!
I connect to the internet via ethernet (we don't have wifi). It was working before I went to work, and when I came home I suddenly couldn't get anything to work (I know everyone says this, but I truly didn't mess with anything). Internet browsers just think for awhile and then turn up the 'You are not connected to the internet' error.
I went into my network preferences and curiously, the 'Ethernet' shows a green dot and says 'connected'. However it says 'Authentication server is not responding' underneath the last part that says '802.1X: WPA: eduroam' (I think that is my user profile).
When I go into my 'security' settings I can see that my firewall is off, so that shouldn't be causing any problems.
I've tried restarting the router and computer itself many times. Diagnostics just gets to a certain point and reports back 'Network Diagnostics cannot fix the current networking problems.' I've also tried switching to a different ethernet cable, and I tried both cables out on a PC laptop and it connected without issue. Additionally, I brought my macbook along to a friend's house and it connected to his wifi just fine, so the problem appears to just be with ethernet connections.
I know it's hard to troubleshoot this kind of thing without being there and having a look at the computer yourself, but any tips wouild be greatly appreciated.

As I mentioned above, I am not very tech savvy so I have no idea why a wireless protocol would be showing up there, I'm just listing everything I see in hopes that someone might know something I can try. This is why I am asking for help here - I'm not sure what has happened that has made me unable to connect, especially since it seemingly occured while nobody was using the computer.
I guess I should clarify that I'm not a total hillbilly- normally my firewall is set to 'on', but I set it to 'off' to try and troubleshoot the issues here as I was told that sometimes it can interfere with the computer's ability to connect to the internet. If this is not the case and firewall does not affect anything, I will turn it back on while I try to fix this.
I have tried the method you mentioned above a few times - I actually contacted my ISP earlier this week and they recommended resetting the router like that. They didn't mention any known network issues.

I had the same problem for days. I reset the phone bu holding down the home button and the on off switch together. Don't swipe to turn off. Just hold down the two buttons until phone switched off then wait a few seconds and switch it back on. I can't also use Facebook on safari which I was also having problems with. Hope it helps

We had the same problem, but figure out the solution.
You MUST have at least 1 song added to your ITUNE! After you add a free song, then everything else should work as normal!

Well basically it is in the title, my Macbook Pro will no longer connect to my tv via HDMI.
I have been using this cable for a long time and works perfectly.
earlier today i used it to connect my mac up to my parents 4k tv, it worked fine, did what i wanted to do.
but now when I've come to connect it up to my tv it recognises there is something connected but it won't display anything
it just says no signal on my tv
im not sure whether my mac has changed some settings on its own to run on 4k but now to high to run on my 1080p tv
pretty annoying so any ideas id be very grateful.
