Connecting to BISM File
Hello,
Trying to connect to a BISM file by using the URL within Excel. Using Excel 2010, and 2012 SQL Server stack, I'm getting the following error, in EXCEL when trying to paste the URL and hit 'next':
"The ASLinkFile Element at Line 1, column 136 (namespace
http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/linkfile) cannot appear under ."
Anyone have any clue? I've rebooted, and other in my group can access it using the same methods I've described.
thanks,
k2
Make sure that you've got the 2012 drivers installed and that the connection string says Provider=MSOLAP.5 (or just Provider=MSOLAP, but not Provider=MSOLAP.4).
You can get the "Microsoft® Analysis Services OLE DB Provider for Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012" drivers from the feature pack here:

Hi,
Me and a collegue is administrering our new enterprise BI portal in SharePoint 2013 (On Premise) and have a problem with using a specific Excel file including general ledger data as data source through a BISM file.
This particular BISM file can't be saved without getting the error message "There were errors found while validating the page: Cannot connect to the server or database."
BISM files against other Excel sheets and sources (for example SSAS tabular databases) works well.
Can anyone help us pinpointing whats wrong here, this is a really important stakeholder in our organization requesting this reporting?
Cheers!Hi E.SWARD ,

I'm having some difficulty updating a table in my powerpivot data model. The data for the table is stored in a local excel file; if I go to
Existing Connections select the connection and do a test then everything is successful. When however I try to refresh that particular table I get the following error:
"We couldn’t refresh the connection. Please go to existing connections and verify they connect to the file or server."
In the past I had this and it was an authentication issue, the files are stored on SharePoint and I wasn't logged in to Sharepoint - I have however checked this and it can't be the issue because I have other tables linked to other excel files in the same
location that are refreshing without issue. Can anyone think of what may be causing it?
I have even tried creating a new local excel with the same data, added it to the data model and then tried a refresh and I I get exactly the same issue.
Are there any known issues with refreshing data from an Excel file if, after the initial import, you add columns to the table in the excel file I was wondering if this might contribute?
ThanksHi Maracles,
Thanks for your post.
From your description, I tried to reproduce this issue on my test environment. However, everything is fine for me. Could you please post the specific version of SQL Server PowerPivot for Excel?
You can try to use a trace file to troubleshoot errors in PowerPivot. If this issue still persists, please try to reinstall SQL Server PowerPivot for Excel to see if this helps.

I purchased an album on itunes and everything was fine. Then when I reconnected my ipod and it did some autosync (which I have it set up to do manual sync) it added every single song a second time, but apparently they are some sort of internet file, that will only play when I have internet connection. These files won't show up through my computer at all and I can't figure out a way to delete them directly from my ipod either. It's incredibly annoying as when I try to listen the album it plays through two songs, then automatically quits playing when it gets to these phantom files...
This is not an itunes question at all.

Windows user can no longer connect to my File Sharing IP address
Hello,
Since updating to OS X 10.4.9, Windows users can no longer connect to my file sharing IP address.
I have had no problems when I was using 10.4.8, and I have re-checked both the Windows computer and my Mac to make sure that the file sharing connection should be possible.
I think this may be some sort of firewall / security issue (?) in that the 10.4.9 update has downloaded something which now "hides" my Mac at this IP address. I am unsure how to resolve this problem.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Much obliged, in advance. Can the Mac connect to the PC?
Have you checked the Workgroup is the same on the Mac
in Directory Access>CIS/SMB?
Have you tried turning off the Firewall for a test?
Has the IP changed?
Hello!
Thank you for the suggestive questions above. I haven't "tested" any of them because I simply became exasperated with the "change" in 10.4.9 and went back to system 10.4.8
Of course, now everything is right with the world and I can once again have my Windows computer connect to my Mac.
Thank you for taking the time in trying to help me -- much obliged. -
In Aperture 3.4.1, I am not able to connect with referenced files on a network
I am running OS X 10.8.2 and Aperture 3.4.1, and am unable to connect with referenced files on a network. Specifically, the referenced files reside on my iMac and I am attempting to connect to them from my MBP. They appear in red in the dialogue box. While I know this has been a long standing issue in other versions, I was hoping it had been solved by now. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Mac not able to connect to SMB File Server
I'm having an issue with a Mac trying to connect to our file server. It was working before our company move but once we moved into our new building it stopped working. Our network settings stayed exactly the same except our router and firewall. It seems to me like it's a DNS issue because I am able to ping the server with the IP but when using the hostname is where it fails and also trys to ping an incorrect address. Our network is 192.168.X.X and it's trying to ping 69.60.X.X which seems like a outside address. I am able to ping the DNS server and seems to connect to computers with in the network but just not our File Server.
Hello:
You will need to delete the keyboard from the other Mac. Simply disconnecting it leaves it still paired with the first Mac.

When I relaunch the app, I get a msg "Unable to connect to CCC".
After turning sync off and on again, it seems to be connected (icon is black and no grey) but the files in the CCC's folder does not be uploaded automatically as it was.
Any idea to fix it?
Thanks

Bluetooth: Refusing input device connect: No such file or directory
Hi,
After an update last week I can't pair my bluetooth mouse anymore. I have a Lenovo X1 laptop, with built-in bluetooth. All bluetooth devices I have tried until now have worked just fine.
The problem now, is that when I power my mouse on, and it tries to pair with the computer I get a notification message (gnome shell) asking to grant access. I never had this before. I answer "always grant access" and still doesn't work.
I searched the logs. When I start the machine I don't see any errors on /var/log/everything.log, and systemctl status bluetooth produces the following:

Not getting connection using DBC file in JSP page
Hi,
I have a custom page. I am trying to open a JDBC connection using DBC file. Below is the command I am using for that -
ctx = new WebAppsContext(dbfilename);
Connection conn = ctx.getJDBCConnection();
My dbc file location is 'C:\OA\jdevhome\jdev\dbc_files\secure'.
the code is raising exception after getJDBCConnection is called.
Any Idea where I am missing?
Regards,
AdarshThis is not an OA question...
The DBC information is already set in the JVM for the Oracle Application Server:
WebAppsContext ctx = new WebAppsContext(System.getProperty("JTFDBCFILE"));
Connection conn = ctx.getJDBCConnection();
And always check for if the WebAppsContext or the Connection objects are null. -
How to connect to Azure Files (preview) share?
I enabled Azure Files preview.
I follow this article: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/windowsazurestorage/archive/2014/05/12/introducing-microsoft-azure-file-service.aspx
I created new storage account called loremipsum. Using powershell, I created new storage share called loremipsum-01. Called
New-AzureStorageDirectory command to test create directory. It succeeded.
I went to command prompt and called this command:
net use z: \\loremipsum.file.core.windows.net\loremipsum-01 /u:loremipsum blablablablablablamyaccesskey==
Result:
System error 64.
Network name is undefined.
How should I connect to this share, so I can use it as mapped folder in explorer?Answer here:

Dear Barry,
Maybe, I can explain you what I want:
When I create 5 tabels on 2 pages, each tabel will have their own row numbers. When I'm working on page 2 and on row 40 for ex, it is very difficult to see which is row 40 of 1st tabel on page 1.
When I put these 5 tabels in 1 big tabel, you won't have this problem, but than I can not name my tabels.
So, I thought maybe I can link for ex, all row 40 in all 5 tabels -
Unable to Connect to Windows File Shares
Steps I take to attempt to connect to a Windows File Share within the office. Being relatively new to the Mac, I am curious on why I am not able to connect to Windows File Shares.
1. Command-K
2. Server Address: smb://[server-hostname]/[sharename]
3. Click Connect
4. Connecting To Server..... (takes a short amount of time)
5. SMB/CIFS File System Authentication
- I then enter the domain, username and password
6. Click OK
7. Error: Could not connect to the server because the name or password is not correct.
What gives? I have confirmed and validated server hostname, sharename, appropriate persmissions for windows account, etc. I have tried IP Address instead of hostname, same outcome.
Any Ideas?

My contact form is not sending the email when selecting Submit. I am getting an error message when I upload via "Upload to FTP host" to Godaddy. The message is "connection to PHP file failed, unable to check if this web server supports PHP needed by Muse forms. Be sure the domain name entered in the FTP upload dialog is correct. Hi Tara,
I have just checked your site and it seems the problem is with the SQL configuration at your server because of which your muse forms are not working.
Please refer to this screenshot :- http://prntscr.com/4trndd
I would request you to contact your hosting service provider and ask them to reset the SQL configuration settings.
Hope this helps
