Does anyone know if I can connect my iPod (fifth generation with video) to my Comcast Cable Box using the USB port on the cable box and the iPod USB cable? if so, how do I use it?

If you are setting up to use Wi Fi connect the Ethernet cable to the cable box then to the router.
Some companies like Comcast have online manuals available online for instructions. Check your cable company's web site. The manuals should be available in PDF format.

Even if it was compatible, AirPrint does not work through a USB link, only Ethernet or WiFi.
I do not see your HP 4500 listed on Apple's list of AirPrint compatible printers. <iOS: AirPrint 101> Therefore you need to take another approach. To start, I suggest you download the free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz. It has limitations, but should get you printing with your existing setup.
There are other printing Apps with more features such as Print n Share and PrintCentral, but they can only be accessed from within other Apps that have the "Open In" option.
Your best option may be to share your computer's printer as AirPrint over WiFi. Programs that are reported to do that well are Printopia and FingerPrint. Your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print. <Printopia for Macintosh> <FingerPrint for PC and Mac>

Printing with HP all-in-one connected to Airport Extreme with USB

We have an HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one, an AirPort Extreme base station, and a G-5 MacIntosh running OS 10.4.8. We can print when the all-in-one unit is connected directly to the Mac with USB cable, however, we are unable to print when the USB cable is connected to the base station. What can you suggest?

Which driver are you using?
According to HP must use drivers 6.3.4 or 7.0

Line Cord Error when connect to Sky+ Box with BT65...

Bought a new Panasonic TV and had to re sort cables took photos and replaced exactly as before. Did connect the new TV to splitter that works fine.
BT 6500 shows Line Cord error as soon as Sky box connected on own, with micro filter, with splitter. No errors prior to today so wonder if doing something daft.
We have 3x 6500s in house is it REN related? But as worked previously a bit odd.
Extension socket behind TV to micro filter - to spliter as before. Plug in cable to SKY plus box and get a line chord error showing on handset. Disconect and fault goes but noticed this fault reported on many forums BT, Virgin ....ANY advice welcome.

make sure you have connected the cable to Sky box into correct port.... the sky box has 2... an ethernet port for a cat5 cable ( rj45 bigger port ) and an rj11 port for the phone cord.... the problem is this will fit in both!! but if connected to the ethernet port it will put a loop on line and cause fault on phone line...

Can't connect to Blackberry Link with USB

My Z10 will only connect to blackberry Link through Wi-Fi, when I turn Wi-Fi off and plug in with a USB cable it says not connected. I tried removing it then adding it again, reinstalled Blackberry Link, rebooting computer restarting phone nothing seems to work. I want to backup my phone but can only do it with a USB cable. If anyone has had this problem and solved it could the please help?

Anyway, the definitive solution is as follows: (this only applies to Windows)
1. Uninstall the BB Desktop Software 7 (BBOS) from your computer, and have only BBLink. (it is said that you can run both BBOS Desktop as well as BBLink on the same pc however, if you do, BB10 devices will only connect through Wi-Fi and won't be able to back up. this is because the BBOS Desktop driver has priority over USB network interface.
2. Once BBOS Desktop is uninstalled, then turn the wi-fi 'off' in your BB10 device, then turn off the BB10 device, then connect the said device via USB, and when you do this, your computer will automatically pick up the driver from your BB10 device, and your device may reboot (if not just turn it on and wait couple of minutes).
3. Open BBLink, and wait for the password prompt screen to log into your BB10 device.

I have CA-101 data cable got with nokia 5130 xpress music. I have installed pc-suite 7.1 on win xp sp2. But the driver installation is failing with the error "Can not install hardware " - "Nokia 5130 XPressMusic USB Phone Parent".

uninstall pc suite - then reinstall and restart the computer
after restart the phone will register correctly
If you don't restart you get that sort of error.

We have a Bretford iPad charging station (10 iPads, 30 Pin) when it's plugged into the iMac it charges and syncs all 10 iPads Just fine. We've since picked up 10 more iPads (lightening). This time we bought a Satechi 12 Port USB Hub with Power Adapter & 2 Control Switches (self powered) with wall current in an effort to save about $970 for another Bretford.
We have tried daisy chaining the Bretford and the Hub and get the Too much power error, We have tried plugging in 10 iPads with just the hub plugged in, works fine until we plug in the Bretford, then error msg appears. (both hub and charging station plugged directly into the iMac) We tried same setup with 10 on the charging station and with the hub plugged in began adding iPad to the self powered hub and get to 13 or 14 and then we get the error. Both devices are supposed to be self powered, both plugged into the wall power, both plugged into the iMac (not Daisy chained). Both Usb cords to the Bretford and the Satechi hub are in pristine condition. The 10 iPads in the Bretford are 30 pin and the Hub are the new Lightening connections. Lightening cables are the ones supplied new with the iPads.

Any idea at all how to make this work??

No aerial connection but cable box

I am in a rented property and just signed upto BT vision. I connected to my tv aerial connection but cant get any tv channels at all. Got a friend to look at it and then realised my aerial has been cut off and does not go to the roof aerial now!!. However we found a white box and cable coming in from outside with 'virgin' (fibre optic?) on it we think.
Is there any way i can connect my BT vision to this to get some live tv.
My BT vision box and broadband work ok.

What do you mean by cut off?
If it's been physically cut, and if it has been cut close enough to the ground (i.e. there is a bit sticking out of the wall) it is just a case of buying a new coax cable stripping the ends, and taping it together.

I have an 800 Imac that was connected to the internet thru ethernet. We had a bad storm and I think the ethernet connection got fried.... the modem did and was replaced. Now all other computers and wireless connections are working except the old 800 mac.
The cable modem has a USB port in the back. I tried to connect the computer via USB and can't get a connection...
My conclusion is that this is not possible...am I correct?

Connecting via USB would require Mac compatible drivers for your iMac. These are not often found since not all device manufacturers create Mac compatible drivers. If available, these drivers are often only compatible with limited versions of the Mac OS X and the drivers can be unreliable.
You may want to invest in an original AirPort card for that iMac. Then it will be able to wirelessly connect like the other computers.

I have a 2013 Buick Enclave with Pandora icon on the screen. I was told that to connect my iphone 5 with USB port and that worked. But as soon as I disconnected, Pandora went out on screen. Only works plugged in now. Should work without USB connected.

With my Samsung S3, Pandora automatically lit up and worked. with new iphone5, I was told I need to connect USB port to car and phone and start Pandora. That worked and the icon on screen lit up. but as soon as I removed the USB cord, Pandora and Stitcher greyed out and stopped working. I know it's supposed to work on the car's nav screen once I hardwire it (at least that's what I was told), but as soon as I disconnect, they stop working through the car. How can I install Pandora and Stitcher on my car WITHOUT having the usb cord attached? the idea is to be able to use the car's touch screen to control Pandora, but with the phone plugged into the USB port, I can only use the phone to control Pandora, which of course is dangerous when driving! And it worked correctly with the samsung, so I have to believe it can work with the iphone 5! Right? Thanks.

You cannot install the apps on the car.
The cars head unit is merely acting as an interface to the apps on the device.
If you want to use those apps in the car, plug the device in and leave it plugged in.
