Connecting to HH3 USB on Mac 10.7.4
I have attached a formatted fat32 HDD to the USB connector on the Home Hub. It shows up on my network connections under "bthub3" and i can see the "USB_Disk" folder, but everytime I try to enter it keeps showing me a pop up saying
"The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “USB_Disk” can’t be found."
I've tried just about everything without luck. Oh.. and a friend with a slightly older 10.6.8 mac can access the HDD just fine.
Any one with previous experience with this have any success or ideas?
When you try to connet to the USB disk is the connection trying to connect as 'guest'? I've been able to produce your error message just once. Using "Finder" I used the 'connect as' option and was able to access the Windows partition. It *may* have something to do with sharing but I'm clutching at straws here.
Hope you get it sorted - I've gone back to my original setup which is backup disk plugged into the USB port of a Time Capsule.

It should be on the printer itself. Just look for the sticker. Most of the time it is at the bottom of the device or at the back it should say MAC address or look for the number that looks like this : 00:00:00:00:00:00. -
My ipad 3 is frozen on the plug into itunes page - it won't turn off or on - just stuck. I have tried to follow advice I have found on these pages but I don't know how to connect the ipad to my mac (the advice is to connect ipad to mac and there is no usb port on an ipad). If anyone could help it would be appreciated. Going nuts.

I installed the current Bonjour printer services software on the Windows machine, and separately installed the driver software for the Epson printer on the WIndows machine. Running the bonjour wizard, I get an alert saying 'I don't have sufficient access to my computer to connect to the selected printer'.
The printer has 'sharing' turned on from the Mac end; this works with a Powerbook via the wireless connection. Sharing is also turned on in the Windows printer control panel for this printer (under properties). The Mac is a G5 running 10.5.8. When I try to print a page from the Windows machine it gets hung in the print queue.
Any advice how to proceed would be appreciated!

I have a MacBook Pro 15" laptop with Retina running OSX 10.8.5. It will not recognize that my android device (Samsung Galaxy Note3). I am using the standard USB that came out of the box to connect my device to my MAC. Deleted Kies 4 MAC. Help Pls!

Hi, I have 10.6.8 and an HP printer so it may be slightly different but I'll give it my best shot:
Go to System Preferences.
Click on "Print & Fax"
Near the top of that page you should see "Print" and "Scan" options. Click "Scan"
A button appears that says "open scanner"
The settings are different between the different scanner models so I'm not sure what the next window will look like, but it should be pretty straightforward from there. It will scan to a JPEG image which you can attach to an email. I hope that helps! Let me know if there's anything ense I can help with. -
I have a G drive mini and 2 LaCie hard drives that connect fine using USB. Thunderbolt to fire wire 800 adaptor will not connect to either my iMAC or Mac air or LaCie drives. Help
Have you tried any of these soundcards designed for 2.0?
The 3.0 port is categorically designed to be comoatible with all 2.0 devices. The port itself will adapt to the usage parameters of the device.
But if you really want to downgrade, then simply plug any 2.0 hub into a MBA 3.0 port. The ports on the hub will be 2.0. -
I need to scan wirelessly from a MAC (OS 1.7 or higher) through Adobe Acrobat Pro X (or higher). Have discovered that all in one printers say they are MAC compatible but will only scan when connected with a USB cable. Would prefer a laser, color, all in one. Does anyone have printer suggestions that you know will scan wirelessly?

Trying to record the school band using Garage band and a Pevey PV14 USB. Have connected the mixer to the Mac using a standard USB lead (is that a problem) but after enabling multitrack option we get the error message
'Can't enable track for recording. Input channel already in use.'
What are we doing wrong?

I have a 2nd generation Ipod and just moved to Icloud. I had been told my an Apple tech that although my contacts and calendar would not sync automatically I could connect the Ipod to my Mac via the USB port and ITunes would sync the calendar. Now I find that this is not happening. I am not happy that I will have to enter/edit calendar and contact info on two devices. Is there something I can do to fix this problem? Thanks.
one more detail, after a restore, when I attempt to reload music to the ipod, if I try and move, say, 20 files, the transfer seems to work as it should but then stalls on the last file. Eventually, the status will change to "Updates Files on (my ipod)" a and suggests the iPod is syncing even though I have the auto sync feature turned off.
This process eventually works itself out, and seems to take longer relative to the number of files I attempt to transfer. Once done, howver, if I try and eject and dismount the iPod, iTunes stalls with the spinning pinwheel and I am warned that the iPod is syncing again with the spinning candy cane status bar. Eventually thisd works itself out and the iPod dismounts from iTunes and the desktop and eventually the iPod is free to disconnect.
Then if I try and play the music I just transfered, the iPod says there is no music loaded.
Ideas? -

I just brought my first Mac at Christmas and I am trying to connect my Telstra usb internet stick to it.
The Mac recognises the internet stick and the widget pops up for the stcik but then asks me to register the internet stick with this computer. I am provided with a a description on how to do this (go to Open Network Preferences > a new pop up will say New System/internet found etc), but the "new system/internet pop up never appears, so I can click on the "directIP" showing on the left hand sinde of the Open Network Preferences windon, but then I dont know where to go from there.
Could anyone help me with a step by step (aka lamens description) of how to fix this?
Thank you very much!Hey there, my experience with the Telstra USB internet dongles is a little different, don't think you need to fuss with settings and all that, it's basically designed to plug and play almost.
When you plug it in, it should prompt you to install the Telstra utility. Have you done this? You will know because in your 'Applications' you will see a Telstra icon. You need to use this utility to connecto the internet.
So, if you have this, simply double click it and when the utility opens, click 'Connect' and as long as the dongle can detect the network it will connect. There should not be any other configuration required.
If that utility is not there, then install it. When you plug in the dongle, you will see it appear as a drive, should be able to just double click it and then go through the installation process.
Failing all that, head into a telstra store and the guys there will sort it out for you quite quickly. -
USB connection of iPhone 4 to mac

I recently connected my iP4 to my mac with the usb. It now 'pings' and wont let me connect to the laptop. The 'trust this computer' notification flashes briefly but not enough to make an option. I have reset the phone to factory settings and it still does it. I have tried another laptop and the same thing.

Sharing XP PC with C4280 connected to USB on Mac
I've just had recent issue with printing on XP Laptops to C4280 connected to IMAC USB Port. This has never been an issue before. What occurs is I can add the printer C4200 Series and it's appropriate drivers to either laptop but printer does not print it just goes into que. I've checked all obvious settings and reinstalled drivers on all computers. I've added and deleted printers dozens of times. I'm using a Linkys router to my cable modem. One re ocurring message is Access denied, unable to connect. I have no firewall set up.

That's never going to work — the protocols are too different. It would help if you post back with the model Power Mac that you have, so the availability of PCI slots or onboard USB ports is confirmed. If you have PCI slots, you can install a USB PCI card and then run the USB Adapter Card Support 1.4.1 download. This would enable you to use the same "USB-only" Zip drive on the Power Mac and the Mac mini. This assumes that the problems that you're having with Zip disk transfers are related to the older SCSI-based Zip drive. If the problem is with the Zip disks themselves or that you just want a more direct method of transfer, attempting to use flash drives with the USB Support 1.4.1 files could present a problem. The older USB Adapter Card Support downloads (1.3.5 & 1.4.1) are dated, in terms of their database of supported USB peripherals - like flash drives. Even when running OS 8.6 on some older Power Macs that I had, I found that I needed to update the USB Support driver files with those contained in the OS 9.1 Update, in order for my 1 GB flash drive to be recognized. The OS remained the same - OS 8.6, but the OS 9.1 USB Support files (v. 1.4.6) were fully-compatible with it. I'm not sure if these drivers are compatible with OS 8.5/8.5.1 - I never tested them, but I have my doubts that they'd be recognized. The OS 8.6 download is an update for systems running OS 8.5 or 8.5.1. Keep in mind that any pre-OS X version of the Mac OS will only support USB 1.1 speeds (max 12 Mbps, compared to USB 2.0's potential for data transfers at up to 480 Mbps), regardless of whether you install a USB 2.0 PCI card. Again, post back with the model Power Mac that you have, so the recommendations made here can be helpful and accurate.
