Connecting to iTunes store

new to iPod nano. Have downloaded iTunes and synched my Nano. But if I click iTunes store it just says connecting in the box top middle of screen then bombs out.
To actually buy something I go to the store via my internet connection, click store then buy what I want, it then tells me that I don't have a US registration and tell me to try UK, I click OK and then I can buy.
very cumbersome there must be a simpler way.
please help!!

I cannot connect to Itunes store. I have done everything that the Itunes support e-mail told me. I unblocked pop-ups, checked my firewall that Itunes was allowed, and checked my internet connection and still no Itunes. Itunes support has been no help other than 3 identical e-mails. What firewall software are you running on your computer? Try to set it up again or uninstall it (for testing purposes only).

IPad app store message "Cannot connect to iTunes store"

Recently my iPad (wifi) & my husband's iPhone (AT&T)have been unable to connect to the app store or iTunes. We get the message "cannot connect to iTunes store". The only thing that I have done recently is download a kindle book & add a Bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard was never paired with the iPhone so I don't think that could be the issue. The iPad & iPhone have both been updated, but that hasn't resolved the issue. There was no problem connecting to iTunes through the PC to run the update. Why would both devices suddenly have the same problem? One is wifi & one is 3G so it's not the connection. They have nothing in common except the error. Any help would be appreiciated since this is getting frustrating. Thanks!

Hi, Thank you! I did as you suggested but it didn't work. So, this time I cleared all apps out of the tray, signed out of my account at the store, and did a hard reboot. Then on my desktop I signed out of my account in iTunes and then synced. I have signed back into the store on the iPad but still get the same message.

I am afraid the are many possible causes for this.
Have you ever been able to connect to the store? If so, did you change anything just before the problem occurred?
The best way to start is to post your iTunes network connectivity diagnostics:
Help>>Run Diagnostics>>Network connectivity tests.
Paste the entire result into your next post.
In the mean time, you will see a number of threads about this which may give you some help.
Try briefly turning off your firewall to see if that allows connection. Think about other aspects of security software, antiphishing filters, popup blockers, parental controls. Web accelerators and proxy servers can also cause problems.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Try this...
Triple click anywhere in the line below to select it and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
cmd /k netsh winsock reset
Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the run dialog, then Ctrl+V to paste, then press enter/return.
You should get something similar to this:
Reboot the computer and the problem should be resolved.
If it doesn't work then perhaps a full tear down and rebuild of iTunes will fix things. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details.

Ok, I've just done that. An error message came up, with half an email address so I changed the year date back and opened passbook.. Then it asked to connect to iTunes, it didn't display the "cannot connect.." message, just showed loading and the wheel going around for ages. Regretting this update, so much hassle. Hello, I've started having an issue downloading songs and apps from iTunes to our PC which has Windows XP Professional installed. We also use Karspersky Anti-Virus and Firefox as an internet browser. Have never had this issue before, it comes up with "An unknow error has occured and downloads are stopped with an error 8003. Also says please check your network connection" We have no issue connecting to iTunes store or the network so not sure how to fix this. It is very frustrating. Have checked Windows Firewall and iTunes is an exception, can't think of anything else why it won't work.

I sounds as though you need to start again. The following article tells you how to completely remove iTunes and Quicktime. If you didn't actually install iTunes you wont find it in add/remove programs so you can't do that bit, but still delete the iTunes folder in Program Files as advised in the article.

Itunes wont move your music for you, get iTune sgoing then ask again.

Itunes cannot connect to iTunes store error 306

Hi, I think I originally posted this on the wrong forum. So I will repost and hope for the best.
Up until recently I used to connect to the internet via airport and everything worked fine. I could connect to iTunes store no problem.
The connection was all set up by the local phone company and somehow they connected the iMac to airport via a modem.
I know that this appears to defeat the point of airport but it worked fine.
I had connection problems with the modem (it was old and needed replaced) that was attached to the airport and iMac. I arranged for the telephone company to come and replace the modem. However, although they replaced the modem and the internet connection is fine.
What they did not do was to reconnect the Airport device and now I cannot connect with iTunes store. Now instead of connecting to the internet via the Airport connection I now connect via Ethernet
The error message I get is
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unknown error occured (306).
Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
I think that if someone could advise how I stop trying to connect to the iTunes store via Airport but via an Ethernet connection

iTunes Store loads partially or returns "Error 306" or "Error 10054"
Proxies, parental control settings and software, security or filtering software, or a bad iTunes Store cache can cause this.
To address proxies, Remove Internet Options proxy settings ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1490 ) and connect to the Internet without a proxy.
To reset iTunes Store cache:
In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (PC).
Click the Advanced tab.
Click the "Reset cache" button.
Click OK and see if the issue is resolved.
Adjust Parental Controls in iTunes:
Open iTunes.
Access iTunes preferences:
On a Mac: From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
On a Windows PC: From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
Click the Parental Controls tab.
Remove restrictions on Parental Controls.

Cannot connect to itunes store before and after update ios 8.2, What can i do ?

I updated to iOS 8.2 about 2 hours age and I get an error saying "cannot connect to iTunes Store" every time I try to update existing apps or download new apps. I restarted my phone, disconnected from wifi, reconnected to wifi...nothing is working. Under iTunes & App Store settings, I signed out and now get the "cannot connect to iTunes Store" message when trying to sign back in. I know my Apple ID and password are correct.

Based on the numerous posts regarding iTunes and the App Store, there appears to be an issue at Apple's end. Although Apple has not provided any indication on the cloud status page.
Do not change your settings.

I downloaded an app on ID1. I tried to then sign out and sign in with a new ID2 to do an in-app purchase. I got an error message saying that I couldn't connect to iTunes store. I read the message boards and found that you can't do this since the apps are linked to the apple ID that was logged in when you downloaded the app. So I logged out of apple ID2 and logged back to the original ID1 to do the in-app purchase, but I still get the same error message saying that the purchase can't be completed and that it couldn't connect to the iTunes store. Is there a fix to this???

Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it. So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID). If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections.
