Connecting to Kindle Fire via hotspot

Anyone else having trouble connecting their Kindle Fire to your iphone 4 hotspot?  Please help me if you have any idea what I am doing wrong.

    Happy day to you misterf,
What better networkk to enjoy your Kindle Fire on than the largest, most reliable wireless network, Verizon Wireless. I know that you are super excited to download the latest books and periodicals on your Fire. I am honored to be the one to assist you with connecting to your iPhone 4 mobile hotspot. May I ask have you use the hotspot in the past on other devices? If so then here's a link on how to connect the Kindle Fire.
http://amzn.to/sNV33h
If you have not used the mobile hotspot feature on your iPhone 4 before then we may need to provision your account for this service. The cost for this service will greatly depend on your calling plan. for example, if you have the Share everything plan then this amazing feature is built into you calling plan. As you test the steps in the link above, please keep the community updated as your experience may help another in the future. As always, if this doesn't resolve your issue then I am here to continue to assist.
Thank you...

Kindle is connected directly, not thru a hub.  Also called Amazon Kindle support, tech was baffled when I told her I was using a Mac.  She said, "I'm not really familiar with apple products."
Precisely why it's not an iPad, and why it doesn't cost very much.  An Apple rep would tell you how to connect an iPad to every computer.

  • Can't connect either Kindle Fire device "Connection unsuccessful, please try again."

I am unable to connect either Kindle fire device, an older 7" Fire, nor a newer 8.9 HDX. Computer is 64bit OS running Windows 7 Pro SP1  The Edge Inspect icon is showing in my notification area, so Edge Inspect is Running. The Edge Inspect Icon in Chrome is "waiting for a connection:. I ran netstat -a | find ":7682" in a command prompt window (running as admin) and got the following results
    TCP    0.0.0.0:7682        mary-J6GTBT1:0          LISTENING
    TCP    127.0.0.1:7682    mary-J6GTBT1:49865    ESTABLISHED
    TCP    127.0.0,1:49865    mary-J6GTMT1:7682    ESTABLISHED
For security, ESET Smart Security 8 shows EdgeInspect.exe LISTENING at 0.0.0.0:7682 but 0 B sent and received. I disabled all other extensions in Chrome. Since neither device will connect, and both connect to the internet just fine, it seems like it has to be a setting in my network or my computer. I did try reinstalling the Edge Inspect app from the Kindle Store on both devices, but no love. I've run out of ideas to try. Just to be clear, I've never been able to get Edge Inspect going, today is the first time I've made a concentrated effort to get it working. I've tried connecting by tapping on my computer on my network, and by entering the IP address, neither works on either device.

Nope - I thought this was the way to get tech support, but I guess not. Now I don't know what to do. Similar problem in Illustrator - lots of people complaining in the forum about how slow Illustrator is, but no help from Adobe. I guess Adobe just isn't doing support for its customers any more, it's become a "buyer beware" software company.

    Yes

  • How do I add a whitelist on AirPort Utility to connect a Kindle Fire?

All of a sudden my daughter's Kindle Fire says it has no wireless connection even though I have the name and password entered correctly. Is this some type of update on the Kindle side? The Kindle tells me (when I tap on the connected wifi name for my computer) signal strength is excellent, status is connected, shows my security with a WPA and additional codes. I have been reading that there is a whitelist I can add devices too but am so illiterate on my MAC that I cannot find it or where to go...my apologies. What do I/ should I do? I am confused as to why I see the Kindle and my computer are connected to wifi but then I receive an error message. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

There isn't a whitelist, per se, on the AirPort routers. Instead there is a means to prevent a wireless device from accessing the AirPort by its hardware MAC address. Unless you have enabled this feature, via the AirPort Utility, all wireless devices should be able to connect.
One area to look at as a possible cause, is the Network Name (aka SSID) that you are using for your AirPort's Wi-Fi network. If it contains special characters or spaces, you may want to consider changing it to something that has neither to see if this helps.

  • Is there anyway to connect a Kindle Fire?

I want to add a Kindle Fire as a tablet device.  Is there anyway to get this done?

What do you mean by "could not just be connected to VZW? It certainly appears that is one of the options.

  • Adobe Connect on Kindle Fire HD

We would like to use adobe connect on a Kindle Fire HD. All is well, apart from allowing drawing/writing tools - can this be done?
I have found this information, but it doesn't really give me a definitive answer:
    Mobile
Apple supported devices: iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad with Retina display, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini, and iPod touch (4th & 5th generations)
Apple supported OS versions summary: iOS 5 and higher
Android supported devices: HTC EVO 4G, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung Galaxy SII/SIII, Nexus 7 tablet
Android supported OS versions summary: 2.3.4 and higher

You will need to have the Connect app: http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Systems-Connect-Mobile/dp/B004SRH1YO/ref=sr_1_1?s=mobile-apps& ie=UTF8&qid=1382366936&sr=1-1&keywords=Adobe+Connect

  • I cannot connect my Kindle Fire to the network. It looks for the IP address and says Cannot connect. Try again. On my iPad I see that a new client is on the network but just for the time of not finding the IP address. Any suggestion? Thank you.

The Kindle Fire finds my Wi-Fi network but cannot obtain an IP address. My iPad AirPort is telling me that a new client is on the network until the Kindle Fire says Cannot connect Try again Any suggestion? Thank you

Any chance the wifi network you're trying to connect to has had its access password changed? If so, do you have the correct password?
Can you 'rub' the wifi antenna on the iPad? That might help. I've done this with my iPod Touch and it helped restore the device's ability to connect.
Is it possible to power cycle the wifi router you're trying to connect to?
If worse comes to worse, can you 'reset' the iPad?  You could do this, but I'd maybe suggest it as only a last resort.
I think you can also go into the wifi settings and 'delete' that wifi network and then re-connect to it.
    Good luck with it.

  • Wireless Printing with Kindle Fire can't connect to HP1102w

Hi I can't connect mt Kindle Fire to my HP1102w  through HPeprint

    Hello DannyD219,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
It appears that you are unable to ePrint from the Kindle Fire to the LaserJet P1102w. I would like to offer a few suggestions that may help.
The P1102w is only compatible with ePrint after a firmware update, using a Windows computer and a USB cable, check for updates for the printer: HP LaserJet P1102w Firmware Update Utility.
Here is the guide for setting up an ePrint account: Getting Started with ePrint. (ignore steps 2 & 3, they are covered above)
For more or information on printing from a Kindle to the P1102w, view this: Printing from Kindle.
I hope this is a helping start.

  • Kindle Fire HD problems with Verizon FIOS

This has happened to me several times now and Amazon has even shipped me two replacement kindles to resolve the problem which I have no deteremined is the fault of Verizon FIOS and not Amazon.
The problem: The Kindle Fires will not download books or stream/download purchased movies from Amazon but will instead hang and then timeout.
I was able to obtain a debug log from the kindle fire and it is full of messages like this:
    amazon_main5:05-22 22:12:46.412  3846  4259 E AmazonVideo.service: EXCEPTION: Making request to https://atv-ext.amazon.com/cdp/library/GetLibrary?firmware=fmw:15-app:1.0.3089.1-ATVAndroidTateClien... java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
however, I am able to make these same requests from any other machine and they proceed fine:
    macbook$ curl 'https://atv-ext.amazon.com/cdp/library/GetLibrary?firmware=fmw:15-app:1.0.3089.1-ATVAndroidTateClien...
    Response:
    {"message":{"statusCode":"ERROR","timestamp":1400857908,"body":{"code":"CDP.InvalidRequest.MissingRequiredParameter","message":"Could not retrieve client information from request."}},"signature":"m6OJiOF4oB/X+90WykVPk5CA9p0PZlUKgfR6JlkLmhvqQfRenTgN0xuvYS78C3XM5eGdAV/VBZWIzhz69Ko920shu3/O80XlJrPig3HmMgXoFzNMOAMQTeGNiTwrRkhl6AZmZtix0o3EcvpoBcLyhSJiza5GWc8shJ8a6VfzlfM="}
I have no idea why this is happening JUST FROM THE KINDLE FIRE. Our iPhones, iPad and Rokus have no issue streaming from amazon and i've sent hours on the phone with amazon who are correctly pointing out that this is an issue with Verizon FIOS, most likely with the junky actiontec router.
Need more proof? Connecting the kindles to the hotspot on my cell phone or using any other wi-fi network allows streaming and the downloading of books.

You say "I have no idea why this is happening JUST FROM THE KINDLE FIRE. Our iPhones, iPad and Rokus have no issue streaming from amazon and i've sent hours on the phone with amazon who are correctly pointing out that this is an issue with Verizon FIOS, most likely with the junky actiontec router."  And then you blame the Verizon router for the issue even though you say other devices are working fine.
It's an issue of how the javascript executes on the Kindle, per the log entry you post.  That has nothing to do with the router but indicates that the Kindle is failing to properly execute the java call and interact with the server.
Try forgetting and then re-establishing the Kindle Wifi connections to the router.  If that doesn't work, if you've changed the default settings of your router, try doing a factory reset of it.  If you can do a factory reset of your Kindle, try performing that also.
You problem is likely not widespread as there are no complaints like this on the various forums I monitor that cover issues with FiOS Internet.  My neighbor (who has a Kindle Fire and FiOS Internet) has no issue like yours.

  • Kindle Fire won't mount on iMac 27"  with Mountain Lion

I purchased a kindle fire and I am trying to connect the Kindle Fire to iMac using the USB port.  I connect to the USB.  I have tried having the kindle fire powered down and then plug the unit to the USB.  The Kindle Fire automatically opens up and I unlock the Kindle Fire but does not Mount.  I have tried Restarting my iMac while the Kindle Fire is plugged in and does not work.  I have tried powering down the Kindle Fire while connected and then power back on and this still does not show up on my desktop.
Any ideas on how to get the drive to show up on my desktop?

I have the same problem mounting my new Kindle Paperwhite on a MacBookPro running 10.8 Mountain Lion.  The same symptoms as above.  However, there is an added wrinkle; yesterday when the only book on the Kindle was the Kindle Paperwhite Users Manual, it mounted fine and I was able successfully to transfer a book that had been previously been downloaded to my Mac.  So I thought that because that book was not obtained from Amazon, but was able to be loaded on our Kindle 2, maybe the ability to mount was that the Kindle Paperwhite was rebelling in some way.
But that thought was demolished when I connected the Kindle Paperwhite to my Mac Mini running MacOS 10.6 Snow Leopard.  It mounted fine and I was able to transfer several other books to it.
So it now seems that it is only Mac users whose Macs are running Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks who are reporing this problem, and the problem only happens with Kindle Paperwhites and newer.
To my debugger mind I would say that says something happened at the transition from MacOS Snow Leopard to MacOS Lion.  But I don't expect Apple to respond to this, since my experience is that when a bug is installed in MacOS X and isn't discovered immediately, the probability of it ever being fixed drops precipitously.
APPLE - THAT IS A CHALLENGE.

  • Why does OS X Yosemite not recognize my Kindle Fire HD?

I recently upgraded to the OS X Yosemite on my MacBook Pro 13"  and I love this new operating system. It's so sleek!
However, I noticed that when I connected my Kindle Fire HD through USB connection to my Mac, my Kindle wasn't recognised.
Andriod File Transfer did recognise the Kindle but I cannot transfer any files. Therefore, it is only offering information what I currently have on my Kindle.
I assume this a problem with OS X Yosemite and can anyone offer me any help on this matter?

OK, apologies, the answer is simple, but easily forgotten because it's so long since I had to do this!  Just go to https://www.android.com/filetransfer/ and download and run the Android File Transfer utility and your Kindle will appear on your desktop immediately, assuming you are using a suitable cable.
I think this is an issue only because you have to do it once-only, and then everything runs smoothly, which means that you have long enough to forget it between whenever you update your OS.
Don't know about the rest of you, but I'd rather get on with using my Mac than fiddle with my OS, so this was an unexpected hurdle. Hope this helps somebody other than me!

  • Creating in app-purchases for Amazon Kindle Fire

    Dear Adobe Community,
    my settings so far:
I'm using the InDesign CS6 Digital Publishing Suite,
    running on a Professional Subscription.
And ran into some problems with the Amazon Fire in app-purchase system. Let me explain:
My multi-folio app is currently running on Apple iOS and Android and was - accordingly - successfully published into the Apple Store and Google Play.
Now, the next step was the publishing on Amazon Kindle Fire via the Amazon Developer Console.
The viewer is running fine, no problems there; the same goes for the free folio.
On the other hand, the in app-purchases won't. The in app-purchase is submitted, the Amazon Developer portal marked it as "Live", but it won't appear in the viewer.
According to this discussion: Amazon in App & Subscription Purchases it is necessary to match the Amazon SKU number with the Product ID in the Folio Producer, which I did. Do I still have to contact Amazon to achieve a successful launch?
    Viele Grüße from Germany,
    Maximilian

DPS no longer supports Amazon in-app purchases.
