Connecting to multiple pop3 stores

Hi!
Can anyone show me a code sample where you connect to multiple pop3 stores? Not at the same time but one at a time.

Never think like that when approaching that type of problem
Get one working with mail caching and connecting to multiple will be an extension to that...

  • How to connect to multiple iTune stores?

    I listen to music from different countries and I find it difficult not to be able to connect to multiple iTunes stores of different countries in which I can easily get album info/artwork/etc and purchase music and many more. I wonder if I ve missed something which allows me to do so. Otherwise I hope Apple has thought about the possiblities for customers to do that and hope it will come with the new iTune in time.

    The iTunes Store in a country is intended only for use by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store.  You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.
    I am sure Apple wants to sell you as much as it can in order to make as much money from you as possible.  However, it has to abide by restrictions placed upon it by the media rights holders and to a lesser extent by country laws.

  • Connecting to AOP data store with multiple NIC's

    I have a situation where I need to have the computer running Diadem to be connected to two different networks.  I have two NIC's installed in the machine, NIC A and NIC B, we will call them.  The reason for this, is that I am using Diadem to access an AOP server on an AVL PUMA machine.  If I connect PUMA to the LAN, PUMA occasionally crashes, probably something to do with the IP address.  So, PUMA needs to be on a network that does not have a router.  My diadem computer needs to communicate with PUMA, and with the local shared drives on our company network.
    Anyway, I have the company LAN hooked up on NIC A, and the PUMA network hooked up on NIC B.  Diadem fails to connect when both networks are connected, but connects to the data store no problem when only the PUMA network is hooked up. Any ideas how to fix this?  It seems diadem is looking at NIC A instead of NIC B, like it should be.
    For reference, when both NIC's are hooked up, I can access share drives, and ping computers on both separate networks, without a problem, so it's not a connection issue.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    -Russ
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I assume poth NIC have different IP range.
    - Did you use IP instead of server name.
    - Do you use RPC or CORBA to access the PUMA server?
    - Which DIAdem version.
    Can you create a logfile when the connection fails?
    Greetings

    HELP! I have tried everything...I keep receiving the following error message:
    "iTunes could not connect to the music store. Network connection was refused. Make sure your network settings are correct and network connection is active, then try again."
    I have a 60GB video ipod. OS Windows XP Service Pack 1. Dial up AOL. No firewalls, checked connections, followed all instructions on the support page, contacted customer support via email (see responses below), contacted AOL (referred me back to iTunes), iTunes referred me to customer support number for iPod (which I called, and they referred be back to iTunes customer support via email). After emailing customer support and receiving a general response, and replying to each response, the email said they were not technical support...read all emails below beginning with the most recent:

    Also, some software that you install on your computer can affect the way your computer sends and receives information from the Internet. A few examples of this software are:
    * Firewalls
    * Internet security software
    * Privacy filters
    * Web accelerators
    * Ad filters
    If you cannot use the iTunes Music Store, try disabling this software temporarily to identify the culprit. Then, please refer to the documentation that came with the software to allow the iTunes Music Store to connect to the Internet. For your reference, these domains need to be permitted to send and receive data from the Internet:
    phobos.apple.com
    phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net
    For more instructions on configuring your 3rd-party software, please contact the software manufacturer. If your web accelerator appears to be at the root of the problem, please contact your ISP.

    Thank you for your response. I am curious to know why if iTunes does not
    answer non technical questions, why I received information when I replied to this
    email. Listed below are the previous threads providing technical information.
    Furthermore, if this is email is for billing disputes, I would like to have
    my Mastercard credited $25.87 for a "gift this purchase/tv show" that I
    purchased for my uncle on Christmas Day. I purchased the full first season of Monk.
    I previously sent an email requesting credit on approximately January 2,
    2006, and failed to receive a response. He never received the gift, or any
    instructions about how to download the tv show, and I do not show a credit
    appearing on my credit card. I would like to have credit for services not received.
    Please credit the following card #XXXX
    Thank you.

    worked. Has iTunes performed recent upgrades? Just viewing the discussion

    Dear Emily,
    Thank you for contacting the iTunes Music Store. Use the steps in the
    following article to troubleshoot your connection problem.
    I have been unable to connect for more than 24 hours on Windows.
    If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Music Store for more than a
    day—and other customers on our discussion boards aren't experiencing similar
    issues—a software or ISP configuration issue may be blocking your access to
    the iTunes Music Store.
    • Your copy of the iTunes application may be out of date.
    • If iTunes is out of date, it will not be able to connect to the
    iTunes Music Store. You can download the latest version of iTunes from our
    website: ?http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    • You installed a third-party anti-virus or personal firewall
    application.
    • You will need to configure your software to allow iTunes to access
    the Music Store. You can contact the software manufacturer if you have
    questions regarding configuration. Click here for more information.
    • You upgraded to Windows XP Service Pack 2.
    • Windows XP Service Pack 2, by default, enables the Windows Firewall.
    As with a third-party firewall, you will need to configure Windows Firewall
    to allow iTunes to access the Music Store. Read this document for more
    information. If you have further questions about configuring the Windows Firewall,
    contact Microsoft's Service Pack 2 hotline at (888) SP2-HELP.
    • You upgraded to a high-speed or wireless Internet connection.
    • A new DSL or cable modem, or even a router, could be the culprit.
    These devices allow your computer to access the Internet at a much higher speed,
    or route your connection to multiple computers. However, they can also expose
    your computer to hackers. To help prevent this, manufacturers of these
    products often install firewalls to prevent hackers and viruses from compromising
    your system. Although this layer of protection is beneficial, there are
    occasions when a device may determine that the iTunes Music Store is a threat to the
    computer. If this is the case, you will need to configure these devices to
    allow iTunes to access the Music Store. Contact your ISP or the device
    manufacturer if you need help configuring your device.
    • You switched to a new ISP.
    • If you didn't install new networking hardware, your ISP may be
    blocking access to the iTunes Music Store. Let your ISP know about this document
    which can help your them configure their servers to allow iTunes Music Store
    traffic through.
    Sincerely,
    The iTunes Music Store team

    The error message I am receiving is "iTunes cound not connect to the Music

    connect to the music store for at least 3-4 days. I have been using iTunes
    since last October, successfully. I checked all my network connections & they
    are fine. I am able to connect to AOL. I even uninstalled and reinstalled
    iTunes several times, all successfully, but I am still encountering a problem.

    Nice, effective customer service. I'm at my wit's end. I field customer service calls, and answer emails at work, and the general responses from the iTunes response library are ridiculous. Especially, after emailing me twice technical support emails, they tell me they do not handle technical support questions...
    Any help or suggestions as to how I should respond to the next email is helpful...
    I also forgot to mention I have been able to connect to iTunes since October 2005, and have been unable to connect for almost 2 weeks now. And, yes, I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes. I was advised over the phone to upgrade to XP Service Pack 2, but it looks like SP2 has issues. ANd, no, I did not download SP2, because the customer support rep admitted he knew nothing to very little about iTunes.

    Emily,
    thanks for your posting, it just reflects my experience (although I didn't contact the helpdesk, but after what you wrote I think I can skip that part). I am livin in China and buy from the German MS, worked fine until about a week ago when the download of an album stopped just after 5 songs. I have never been able to connect to the shop ever since.
    The interesting thing is, that I get a response from their server in the domain phobos.apple.com (phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/storeFront) which I would interpret that there can't be a problem which they always list (Antivirus, Firewall etc...)
    So will there ever be somebody from Apple who is going to give a better explanation how to solve the problem ? Or are there already too many people buying iPods and music ???

  • My Apple TV won't connect with my itunes store, even though I am connected on my computer and have my home sharing on- what do I do?? :(

    We have recently moved and have a new television and internet system. My Apple TV screen goes to the option of 'computers' and 'settings'. I really want to watch Netflix and it no longer takes me to that screen. It says that it can't connect to the iTunes store when I try to test the network.
    Any suggestions of what I should do?
    I've restarted it multiple times. At one time I could get to the option screen that had Netflix and HBO GO and it told me that it was unable to open them and to try later. Why won't this work?!?

  • I cant connect to my app store

    I cannot connect to the apple store via my ipad 2. I have tried multiple different ways to try and fix this problem but nothing seems to work.

    What happens when you try to connect? Do you receive an error?

  • TS3297 Cannot connect to the itunes store.

None of the troubleshooting is working for me...All I want to do is connect to the Itunes store from my desktop. Also, I can connect to the store on the other desktops and ipads in the house, just not this computer. And last but not least, is it possible to "manually manage songs" for your Iphone with multiple computers?

    Thanks.

    I'm having the same problem.  iOS, Network & iTunes are up to date and working fine.  But the Apps update just says "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store".  I've tried everything I can think of, but still no go.  I've not done iPhone support before.  How do we get Apple to address the problem?

  • ITunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The connection has timed out.

    Okay, I'm sure that there is already a forum for this, but I don't feel like searching for it at this point. I've scoured the internet in search of a solution for this problem. My iTunes works perfectly, but anything that requires the iTunes Store(i.e. Get Track Names, Get Album Artwork, Genius) does not work. I've cleared my DNS cache multiple times, I've add iTunes as an exception to my firewall, deleted my Norton wirewall, turned my firewall completely off, and any other fix that the internet has to offer. It seems that iTunes is only doing this with Windows 7 users as my cousin has the same computer, is using Windows Vista and the same version of iTunes as I am, and hers works fine. I don't care whose fault it is, Apple's or Dell's, I just want it fixed. I ran a diagnostic and this is what I got -->

  • Save incoming msg from pop3 store folder to folder on pc

    hello everyone,
    I have a problem which in theory should be simple to solve but in practise I can't really seem to figure out how to do it.
    Here's the code of how I get the messages to handle each one. What i want to do is put them in a folder on my desktop so I can handle them from there.
    (what i do now is get the attachment and save that file alone and deal with it but i'ld like to have the full msg so i can have details on who it's from and who i want to send it to and any other details i might want to process)
    Can anyone guide me of how I could do this please?
    thanks in advance
    Code to connect and get messages:
    java.util.Properties props = System.getProperties();
    javax.mail.Session session = javax.mail.Session.getInstance(System.getProperties(), null);
    javax.mail.Store store = session.getStore("pop3");
    store.connect(host, username, password);
    javax.mail.Folder folder = store.getFolder("INBOX");
    folder.open(javax.mail.Folder.READ_WRITE);
    // Get directory
    javax.mail.Message messages[] = folder.getMessages();

    thanks for replying
    ok I guess my reply to make it more clear didn't actually help at all so i'll give it one more go and put it in more of a codetelling fashion (meaning it shows what my intentions are but i really don't think it works like this)
    previous reply to clarify things:
    [basically what I want to do is copy the messages from the javax.mail.Folder to a folder on my desktop as .msg .eml files or whatever they are supposed to be (i don't exactly know but i hope that won't be hard to figure out) so that i can just call for example getFrom on the message file that's been stored in the folder on my desktop.
    what i am doing now is getting all the attachments of each message and stick them in a folder on my desktop but most of them need to be replied to and some times more (automatically) and i can't get the details i need just from the attachment and i also don't want to do it one by one while connected to the server cause if the message is big it times out or something, so in order to avoid such problems i want to be able to fully process it on my pc.]
    2nd try to make things clearer hehe:
    Code to connect and get messages:
    java.util.Properties props = System.getProperties();
    javax.mail.Session session = javax.mail.Session.getInstance(System.getProperties(), null);
    javax.mail.Store store = session.getStore("pop3");
    store.connect(host, username, password);
    javax.mail.Folder folder = store.getFolder("INBOX");
    folder.open(javax.mail.Folder.READ_WRITE);
    // Get directory
    javax.mail.Message messages[] = folder.getMessages();
    now i was thinking of writing 2 loops (one already exists) one that goes through messages[] and the other other that for each messages<i> i create
    File f = new File("temp/" + messages<i>.toString());
    and then through some form of reader read from messages<i> somehow and with a writter write it to f.
    [i know that it doesn't make sense to read from an array but i can't really think of a better way to demonstrate what i want to do ]
    i hope that clears it out a bit let me know if you any other information would be helpful, thanks again for trying

  • I am using Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit on a brand new PC, and cannot connect to the iTunes store using iTunes version 10.  HELP!!

    Ok, so after purchasing a new computer, with windows 7 pro, 64 bit, I tried downloading the newest iTunes, which at the time was 10.2.1 (i believe).  After installation, everything seemed to work, except that iTunes was unable to securely connect to the internet, use home sharing, or validate my computer.
    As troubleshooting, I first ran msconfig, and then turned OFF all programs that boot at start up EXCEPT itunes and quicktime.  After a restart, i opened itunes again, and got the same result.  That led me to believe that iTunes was NOT being blocked by another program on my machine.  I am currently running itunes 10.7 successfully on a Windows 7 32 machine at work.  Anyhow, for grins, I tried to install version 9 on the new computer, and it installed perfectly, and immediately connected to the itunes store, leading me to believe that there is nothing wrong with my software configuration (not sure if this is a safe assumption or not).  I then tried to let iTunes update itself using the automated update function.  It tried to update itself to the most current version, then 10.6.  Again, iTunes was unable to connect to the iTunes store.  I HAVE tried disabling the anti-virus software (AVG), but that made no difference.
    I have since gone back and reinstalled iTunes 9.  Here's the catch though.  When I reinstalled using version 9, I had to redo all my library files.  I'm about 1/2 way through my CD's, and now have a substantial library file going.  The last time I let iTunes update itself to 10.6, once I realized that it was not going to connect to the store, I uninstalled iTunes, and reinstalled ver. 9.  However, when I did this, it told me it could no longer open the library file, because it was a newer .itl or .xml (i believe it was one of those two extensions) library file.  At that point, I basically started everything over again, using version 9, and have been importing CD's like a madman at night.
    Here are my questions:
    1) Is there a way to make a copy of the files that store my library info, so that if my upgrade to ver 10 IS NOT SUCCESSFUL, I can restore ver 9, but still have all of the album art work, playlists (when I import music, I create a playlist with the artists' name, and store things that way), etc. in tact?
    2) What else can I try (firewall settings, internet options, etc.) to try and get version to to successfully install?  I would really like to get all the benfits of the newer versions.
    3) When I tried to get apple tech support before, they wanted me to pay a ridiculous 69$ fee for phone support.  I just bought an iphone 5....this should entitle me to a fresh 90 days of phone support, right?  The reason I ask here is that I could hardly understand the "tech" that answered the phone when I called for tech support last time, and to be honest, it really ****** me off that they wanted to try and milk me for another 69 bucks....I've purchased every iPhone since the 3Gs came out (pre-ordered at that), and have nearly gone broke purchasing music from their iTunes store....heck, maybe they're doing me me a favor not letting me into the store, huh?
    Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated,
    -Brian

    Many thanks.

  • ITunes could not connect to the iTunes Store "Error Message"

    I recently added iTunes 7.6 to my Windows XP operating system at the same time when I added an *Ion USB Turntable (TTUSB).* I currently have the 80G iPod with the larger video screen. I added in the supplied software of the EZ Vinyl Converter. The software reads from Gracenote and imports into iTunes okay. But now my PC cannot access the iTunes store to buy songs, read the tracks on the discs, or display new album artwork. The diagnostic read the network connectivety test, the CD/DVD drive, and iPod connectivity tests all read okay. I followed the directions on checking the network settings under the Internet Options Tool "Connections" Lan Settings and the Automatic detection and still no dice. All I get is "Make sure your network is active."

    I'm seeing this error on some, but not all, of my Windows XP machines. On my personal development XP box, I see this error if iTunes is closed when I try and access iTunes U via my transfer script or Stanford's.
    "iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was terminated unexpectedly. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
    The errors occured in IE 7 Beta, Firefox 1.5.x, and Firefox 2 Beta. In each case, iTunes U loaded after I clicked the 'ok' button in iTunes. I did notice that in Firefox's case an additional pop-up window appeared that asked whether or not I had iTunes; when I selected that I do have itunes, it transfered me to iTunes but generated the error.
    After getting these errors on my Windows XP machine, I tried it on two different lab machines running Windows XP, and didn't get the error message once -- I tried it in IE 6, Firefox 1.0.x and Firefox 1.5.x and they all worked. It even worked with IE 7 Beta and Vista Beta.
    Based on this, I think the problem must lie in how Windows registered iTunes, and the handshake just isn't happening properly.

  • My new iPhone 4S can't connect to iTunes, App Store or iBooks via Wi-Fi. Works with 3G network. How to fix this?

    My new iPhone 4S (week old) can't connect to iTunes, App Store or iBooks via Wi-Fi (and some other apps e.g. Hollister – but most of the other apps like Safari or ebay work fine). There is no problem with those apps loading via 3G network. When I turn off the wi-fi, it runs over 3G and i can access App store without any problem. When i turn off the 3G network and turn the Wi-Fi on, those apps like App Store won't work, other apps work fine. When i turn on both Wi-Fi and 3G, the App store (and so on) is also not working, other apps are.
    I also found out that when the Wi-fi is on and I sign out my apple ID, the App store starts working! But when I log in again, it will imediatelly stop working. I've tried logging in with others apple IDs, still with the same result. There is no problem with my apple ID account, because it works on my iPad, even via Wi-Fi.
    When i first set up my iPhone, there were no complications using App store ia Wi-fi with exactly the same account. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but this problem started when i logged in with my UK account and then wanted to log back in with my Czech account.
    I tried turning it off, hard reset and deleting my iPhone several time (even without back up). Nothing worked since then.
    Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
    I would really appreciate ANY help. This porblem is driving me crazy!

    I am also having the same issue. Please help!
