Connecting to my office's server

Can anyone help me with this issue?
When I try to connect to our office's server, I get an "AFP system error has occurred". I've been able to connect before. This just happened tonight.
Thanks

See Apple's March 6th presentation online. www.Apple.com ; I couldn't believe what I was watching. As someone who's made a living for 20 years giving presentations, it was an awesome display of professionalism put on by the 10 or so various speakers including SJ, dubbed by uber VC God, John Doerr, as the "World's Greatest Entrepreneur". Can you imagine being called the "World's Greatest Entrepreneur" by the man who helped blow life into Amazon,Google, and Electronic Arts? I'd rather have that said to me than hold a world record in something. Video is 1:10 long and you'll enjoy every minute.
I think 1st year's sales in the Enterprise market will beat 1st year sales to individuals. What are Analysts predicting on this? How can I get involved Enterprise selling?

Hi Guys. I have an ipad version 5.1.1 that I want to connect to my office PC server via wifi. Any ideas.

You can only import photos from the camera roll into the computer. Is that the album that you are seeing?
Any albums that you create on the device itself (the iPad that is) cannot be transferred to your computer. iPad created albums do not contain copies of your photos but merely pointers to those photos so they do not actually exist in those albums.

    Hej Remc0
thanks for the answer...but even after following all these steps, I still have test connection failed...
The office server name, is this the name you also have when you want to connect to your presentation service?
As it's all straight forwards, I don't have a clue to this...
    Txs for your feedback.

  • Outlook 2010/2013 clients, outside of our main office, can't connect to our Exchange 2010 server

    Hi,
Our remote users had been connecting to our Exchange server at our office since the Exchange server was installed in 2011.
Starting last Wednesday, Outlook 2010/2013 clients, outside of our main office, can't connect to our Exchange 2010 server.  Outlook kept asking for a username and a password.  At the same time, entries of Event 4625 were generated on the Event
    log on out Exchange server.
Events 4625 has the following properties, "Logon Type: 3", "Failure Reason: An Error occured during Logon.", "Status: 0xc000006d", "Logon Process: NtLmSsp", and "Authentication Package: NTLM".
By the way, I had used a laptop to test this problem.  Its Outlook work fine ion the main office, but it won't work outside of our office.
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks.

  • Macbook Pro remote desktop unable to connect to my office PC. Genius Bar told me the only solution was to wipe my Mac. Really??

I work remotely using my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.5.8) to connect to my office PC. I have always had issues using my "computer name" with the RDC but have no problem when using the IP address. Two weeks ago my company upgraded their server and ever since I have been unable to access the server. My coworkers (who use Macs) are not having the same problems as me. My IT guy was able to connect using my Mac, his security clearance and IP address. However, I no longer have the option of using the IP address to log in - per my IT guy. My IT guy is a PC guy so he suggested that I take my computer to Apple to see whats blocking me.
I met with Apple support at the Genius bar yesterday and was told basically it could be a problem with my computer and I needed to wipe it clean and start over. This was the proposed solution to the problem but the Mac guy I spoke with didn't seem completely sure this would solve / is the cause of the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions for figuring out what the root problem is prior to me wiping my Mac? Has anyone had issues working with remote desktop connection from their Mac connecting to a PC?
    I appreciate any help possible!

  • Problem connecting PowerPivot's (Office 2013) Data Model deployed on SharePoint 2013 to data source.

    Hello:
    Our configurations is as follow :  SharePoint 2013 is on Server A;  SQL Server Analysis server (SQL 2014) is on DB Server B;
SharePoint databases (sp_ ...) and our Data Mart (SQL 2014) are on server B. All servers runs Windows 2012 OS.
On my desktop I built a simple Excel 2013 workbook with PowerPivot Data Model that imported several tables from our Data Mart (server B above). Then created a Power View report. Locally everything works fine.
But when I uploaded this workbook to our SharePoint PowerPivot gallery and was trying to refresh data, I got the connection error: It’s very long but the ErrorCode is “rsCannotRetriveModel”. The end of the error message is:

    Hi Jeff,
Firstly, I need to confirm whether you are refreshing Data connection in browser, since Data Refresh is not supported in Office Web Apps. Please refer more information in this article:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/excel_services__powerpivot_for_sharepoint_support_blog/archive/2013/01/31/powerpivot-for-sharepoint-browser-refresh-fails-data-refresh-not-supported-in-office-web-apps.aspx
From the error "Call to Excel Services returned an error", please verify the location of the
data source, for example an Excel workbook, is registered as a trusted location with Excel Services:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219699(v=office.15).aspx
Since you are using unattended account for Excel Services to connect from SP to databases, I wonder if the issue occurs to unattended referesh, if so, please refer to:

  • Can't connect to my work exchange server 2003

I am one of the only people in my office with a Mac and my IT dept. refuses to assist me. Therefore, I am forced to try to resolve issues myself (which is not working out).
I have successfully sent mail through the company's outgoing mail server, but I cannot connect to the incoming mail server to receive my messages.
On a side note: I have entourage 2004 running successfully with no problems other than the program is crippled compared to outlook on windows. I want to run Apple's Mail program but can't get working, and I'm sick of running Outlook through Parallels.
To configure Outlook and Entourage all I need to put in is the exchange server path (and login info) and it configures the rest. So how do I know what the outgoing and incoming paths are for Apple Mail? Are they the same? I right now I have both the incoming and the outgoing set up with the same exchange server paths hwmxmsg05.hotels.ad.**.com.
Any Ideas? Another post mentioned make sure certain things are configured on the server side? What would they be as I need to relay them to someone who knows.
    Thanks!!!
    24" iMac Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I feel your pain. I also am a lone Mac user in an entire building full of PC robots, and the IT people haven't got a clue.
I've been trying to get Mac mail working with the Exchange server here, but it's just not happening. I've managed to get Entourage working though, which is far from ideal but significantly better than the web-based version of Outlook that I'd been having to use up till now.
For entourage, then yes - the incoming and outgoing servers are the same. You may need to ask your recalcitrant IT people which port numbers to use, but give it a whirl anyway.
    Best of luck,

  • Domain computers can't runt RD Web applications when connected from outside company – Windows server 2012 R2

    Hi Everyone,
I have a question related to RDweb service.
I have successfully installed RD web role on windows server 2012 R2.
All went ok. I also installed a valid third party certificate.
I can connect from outside to the server and run applications using any devices: Ipad’s, mobiles and laptops.
The problem is that: Any Computer/Laptop that is joined on the domain can connect to RDWEB from outside the company BUT CAN'T RUN ANY APPLICATIONS. The RD session is taking long time it failes.
Note that from inside the network is working.
    What it can be?
    Thank you in advance,
    Criss

    Hi,
The internet connection from where I’m doing the tests is quite good. I think the error with the latency is not relevant because probably the computerRD gateway it doesn’t allow it and that way it fails with this error. For a computer that never been joined
on the domain is working perfect no delay at all..
We are using RD Gateway … installed everything on the same machine Windows server 2012 R2.
When I click RemoteApp I see the remote the prompt of RD gateway, I click ok, then nothing happened for 2-3 min. after this time it brings the error with the delay.. OR “couldn’t connect on the remote computer because an error occurred on the remote
computer that you want to connect to.”
Again, the connection is failing ONLY when we try to connect from outside the company and it happened ONLY with the Computers that are joined on the Domain.
EX: An user (with Office Laptop - joined on domain) can connect to RD Gateway and lunch the RemoteApp’s from inside LAN but when is leaving Home can’t run the Remote App;s. In the meantime he can connect and run RemoteApp’s with his private computer.
What it can be different between the Office and his home private computer?
For Outside users we’ve have open only port 443 on firewall. Why need to open UPD 3391?
I’ve notice that if I take a laptop that is working and join it on the domain it will have the same issue. If will dis-join it will still have the same issue after all.
    Thank You

we are using server 2008 r2 on our head office, as our company in expanding and the branch offices are opened at two another places. please guide me our future plans is as,,,,
we are running server 2008 r2 on our head office, and we have opened two different branch offices one in the same city but 4 kilometer away from our head office and one branch office is in another city 300 kilometer away from our head office. our requirement
is to connect both branch offices with head office. am i right that our requirements are as below......?
------a wan connection from our first branch office to head office.
------another wan connection from 2nd branch office to head office.
both branch offices will join the domain in head office.
    Thankssssss

    Hi,
You can deploy the site-to-site VPN, then all your branch office can access your head office as in the head office.

  • Problem with X11: Xlib: connection to ".0" refused by server

    Hi all,
    I've problem with X11 on os x 10.6.2.
Every time I move my macbook pro from office to home (and viceversa)
X11 needs to be quit and restarted otherwise I get the following
    error:
Xlib: connection to ".0" refused by server
and X11 won't launch windows. Now this error is certainly linked
to the fact that the computer changes IP address.
What's the best way to solve the problem ?

Yes this look like a bug as old as 10.4 .
Keep in mind that X11 wasn't made for mobile users .
What's the best way to solve the problem ?
below you find the first lines of my .xinitrc
I havn't been able to find a definite fix to this problem.
Nonetheless I have a workaround which avoid me to have
to restart my X11 twice a day. I'm a mobile user, I use
many different network locations, and I use X11 full time too.
I created an isolated location named "- isolated" so as to
keep it on top of my Location menu. This location is simply
built by removing all the services "Ethernet", "AirPort"…
Then, when I leave my home, I always switch to my "- isolated" Location.
When I arrive at my office or within a meeting, I switch to the correct
    Location.
I can proceed with my work in progress within X11 applications.
And I can open new X11 applications without any trouble.
When I leave my office I also swith to my "- isolated" location.
If you find any better workaround, please post it.

  • Can I connect two switches to a server?

We share an office with another company but we currently have separate servers and networks.
I'm looking into the possibility of us sharing their server.
The thing is we both have our own switches and and I want to avoid any rewiring of the network. Will I be able to use two switches?
It's a 2x 2.8 GHz quad core intel xeon (with dual ethernet). So is it just a matter of connecting both switches to the server and configuring them in some way?

    Hi Christiaan,
I end up doing this quite often. You have a few options, the simplest is below...
How many users and devices that require network connections does each company have? If it's under 254 which it sounds like it is and your happy to have the users on the same network, sharing the same ISP. Then the easiest option is going to be your company sharing their network. You'd save a bit of money on your internet connection which could be used to increase the bandwidth on the other companies line if needed.
You would do following. Make sure all devices that need a fixed IP address such as printers/mfds'/switches/WiFI/phone system (if applicable) are changed to a fixed IP address with the relevant subnet mask, dns and gateway from the other companies network. You'd obviously need to get the relevant numbers from their IT guy.
Then you could use your switch as extra capacity on their network by linking it with their switch. Obviously you'd want to use the fastest possible connection between the switches or look to buying something new with more ports. If you both have something like the HP 1810G ProCurve or a compatible switch you can buy two fibre transceivers and connect them with a fibre cable, this will free up more ports for users on the switch or simply connect them via an ethernet cable. On the 1800 series you can use LACP which allows you to use up to 4 ethernet ports to improve the bandwidth thus giving you a 4gigabit connection to their network. Depending on how much traffic there is going to be you might want to skip that as there might be no need.
Then it's just a case of creating your users on their server and creating an area for your company that only you have the access rights to and creating a shared area inter-company area if you want to easily ping them over files.
What do you both use for email? Are you going to look to share a server for it?
    Hope that helps
    Beatle

  • Browsing files with a VPN connection to a Win 2003 Server

    Hello,
I am getting connected to the VPN according to the VPN option in the settings icon in my Ipad.
Now, anyone knows how could a I get access to the files in the server with my IPAD, like I have with the mac finder or win explorer in a MAC or PC
    thanks for the help

I have tried it with no success. I am able to connect to other machines when in the same network! Like home wifi but as soon as i get connected to the office VPN, is not working.
Maybe it's me. Usually for example with my pc i get into de VPN! Then open the win explorer, type the server ip address just like 10.0.0.1, and that's It.
Is there anything am i doing wrong or should be done differently with an Apple? I am new with Apple.

  • Office Communication Server 2007 R2

Can the iChat 5.0.3 client establish encrypted connections to Office Communication Server 2007 R2?
My employer has set up an OCS 2007 R2 Edge server for which I configured the external DNS. I've tried Messenger for Mac 7 and found that it worked. Which led me to wonder if iChat supported SIP connections over port 443 or whatever port is specified in an SIP.TLS SRV record?

    Hi,
To be frank I don't know.
It was the main reason for posting the link to the iChat Server forum and giving you the one name of a regular poster who I thought might be able to help.
iChat has problems, particularly in Leopard if the iChat app senses more than one Internet connection. This mainly effects it's A/V and Screen Sharing connections.
This List of "Well Known Ports for Apple Apps" may help if you look at the single and group of ports I listed earlier (it does not List the Distinction between iChat 4 and above compared to Earlier versions).
Its lists which port does what sort of streaming.
This Article lists the ports as I have already listed for iChat 3 and earlier but has some Notes underneath the final table that may offer some insights (I suggest item 4)
This article lists the Changes (without telling you they are changes) but leaves out the Jabber and Bonjour ports (Hence the link to the first article).
The first article does tell you in the last note that port 5678 connects iChat to a server called SNATMAP (snatmap.mac.com) which is essential in the SIP Invite bit as this is Apple's SIP server.
I have never seen any references that says iChat in the AV chats uses TLS or other security protocols.
A Buddy List can use an SSL Login to the relevant server to Login. This is only for the Login stage. It is unclear if the Text Chats are also subject to this (most 1-1 IM chats are on the Login port)
Group Chats and File Sending from an AIM Buddy list move to port 5190 (if login is different) and the UDP Protocol.
MobileMe Uses can Encrypt Chats to other MobileMe users. This may apply to Video and Audio chats but I have never had a MobileMe (or it's .Mac predecessor) to experiment if that happens over Audio and Video chats.
I also know that in Failed A/V chats to AIM on a PC user the Log details that the AIM users is using port 5061 for SIP.
The Log does not indicate that it is with TLS or not. (most fail on Windows Firewall issues or Routers not having port open in the routing device at both or either end).
A Client iChat would only contact a iChat Server to perform the Buddy List Login.
Essentially you would not have to be at the same location to do this.
Any A/V chat would be "negotiated" separately from that via the SNATMAP server.
At Connection the A/V chat is Peer-to-Peer.
As part of the SIP negotiations a Ping is sent to Confirm that where the Visible Invite went to from the Buddy list is the same place, IP-wise, that the SIP response is coming from.
    On another tack.
An iChat Client can be made to connect to an MSN/Live Buddy using a Jabber Buddy list that is also registered with a Jabber Server that is running an MSN transport.
This can allow Text Chats only (Instructions)
Apple have always said they deem iChat to be an SIP/VoIP app (but have never enabled full VoIP to POTS connections).
Looking at the OCS 2007 R2 site it appears that Microsoft are moving toward SIP/VoIP and I was unaware of that.
It has been a while since I checked out MSN for Mac to know it has got A/V capabilities yet (As an alternative)
Trillian for Mac seems to have been stuck in Alpha for ever and does not mention Video. (The previous Windows version could video over several Services).
    Summary.
More info about how iChat works (I later think I was missing the point)
Info on using iChat and the MSN service
One possible alternative and the "most likely" that has been stuck at that stage for years. (The windows version moved from Trillian Pro to Trillian Astra about a year ago and we {Mac Users} have been waiting at last that time again on top).
I hope that the real question was can iChat hook up to the MSN network via the OCS 2007 R2 and I have given you enough info to suggest it cannot be done.
It is late here and it will be my tomorrow before any further replies.
