Connecting to other computer 1 see's other doesnt!
My housemate has a new imac and can see my computer when he selects network and can connect when puts in my user and password.
However, when i try the same his computer doest appear in my network window after a few moments like mine does on his
We are only connected by ethernet router with no software set up on either computer it just finds on the local network really.
I have exactly the same problem.
I have two computers, a G5 and an Ibook G4.
Both are set up identically. The sharing is on and appletalk is on. Both are connected through a router. Both can see the Internet.
Only one computer can see the other.
The stupid useless network browser just sits there and sits there and sits there and sits there and sits there. It never lets you know whether it's actually doing anything. Just sits there.
If you want I can take screen shots of all the relevent control panels and post them on a web page. It's a tiny problem but so irritating when something just doesn't work because it just doesn't feel like it.

I would appreciate if someone could help me out.If I understand you correctly, you are trying to use iTunes to play the Music in your iPod but which is not in your itunes library. I don't think Apple design iTunes for use in your way. As to put and play music in iPod, the music has to be in iTunes first, so you play music in the iTunes music Library. the window with Ipod music is just to show you which music are already in the Ipod, in case you want to Manually Manage your huge music library.

I connect my I-phone with my computer. In I-tunes the phone is there, but not s a removable device in Windows Explorer. It should be recognised I assume. Who knows the answer? Thanks in advance.

To be sure, reset sync warnings. To do this, right->click the iPod under Devices and choose Reset Warnings. Then resync your iPod.

Connected ipod to computer...charges but doesnt do anything else...Help!
Okay, so I bought an ipod from a friend recently..its in great condition but when I plug it into my computer(USB) it only charges and thats it. Nothing else happens...it doesnt show up in My Computer or even the bottom right hand corner of the start menu. It wont pop in itunes...just charges and thats it. Any solutions? Please let me know.
- First try resetting the iPod to see if iTunes will see the iPod so you can restore the iPod.

We have a Windows XP desktop with iTunes for windows. The hard drive needs to be reformatted. Right now, the computer will not connect to other computers on the network. Can I save my iTunes songs to a thumbdrive, then re-load after reformatting? How do I do it?
Copy the entire iTunes folder out to the drive. If it is too big to go as one copy stuff over to another computer in batches. It is important to have not only the media but the library file in order to properly restore your library.
See also this User Tip. Assuming the machine won't connect to the internet you could download the SyncToy installer on another machine and then transfer it with the thumb drive. If it will connect to the net don't forget to deauthorize the machine before reformatting the hard drive.

please helpPerhaps the GPO prevent you from logging locally with user account that is NOT member of domain users. You should change GPO and either wait for applying it of force the update. Remember that some GPO may need restart.

My iphone4 when connected to any computer will not charge and is constantly connecting and disconnecting. It does the same with itunes so it doesnt really sync. Also when talking to someone, all of a sudden they cant hear me.
I'm having the same issue. I went to my local apple store and they could not work me into the genius bar so i made an appointment for tomorrow morning. The clerk did check the phone for the pink indicators at the top and bottom of the phone (where you plug in your USB or headphones) He said if you can see a pink indicator dot you may have gotten it wet, or had some sort of condensation in it, which could cause the plugs to not work.
In regards to people not being able to hear you, i'm waiting for my appointment tomorrow for more news! I would recommend taking it into your local apple store for more answers. -
Can't see my own Airport - can connect to other networks. Basestation works
Until recently my Airport Express worked fine (and had done so for a year or so). But a couple of months ago I started having problems connecting to it, and finally a month ago my Powerbook couldn't see the basestation at all. I could still see the other networks in my area, and connect to these (including some airport express networks), so I reasoned that my Airport Express was dead and had it exchanged for a new one...
BUT when I brought my new basestation home i STILL couldn't see it from my powerbook (even if I placed it 3 ft away). To double check I tried it at a friends house (with his PC), and he could see the basestation just fine...
So my question is this:
If I can see (and connect to) other networks than my own airport base, and another computer can connect to my airport, and my ADSL works fine with a cable - where is the problem? I really have no idea where to start looking...
please help me, this is frustrating...!

I had my friend come over, and with his PC and my Powerbook 10 inches apart, both situated less than 10 feet from the basestation, we can see exactly the same wireless networks - EXCEPT my very own basestation, which only my freind can see (on my friend's computer it's named "Apple Network edc585")!!!!
This leads me to think that somewhere in some program on my computer there's something blocking my access to my Airport... The only thing I did recently which has to do with the internet is that I installed an Apacheserver, but this didn't have immediate effect on my airport - so I can't think why it should have now...
Where can I go? Is there something I can uninstall and reinstall? Should I trash the Airport-assistant and reinstall from my airport-cd?

When I go to plug in my iPhone 5 to my PC it will charge my phone but it doesn't show up that it's connected to my computer or in iTunes. I have tried just about everything that I can find in the support discussions but nothing has worked. Any other suggestions?
If you have carefully follow ALL of the steps in that article, you are using a USB port directly on your computer and not a USB hub (don't use a front port on a tower or desktop either, as they are an internal hub) and you installed iTunes correctly using an Administrator ID and you have tried disabling your antivirus and firewall then there is no hope of it ever working. Look at the tip again, and go through it carefully, not skipping any steps.
Note, BTW, that an iPhone will not show up on a computer, only in iTunes. If there are photos in the Camera Roll then it will appear in Windows as a digital camera only. -
My ipod will not connect to my home wifi, it can see it and asks for a password but will not connect. I have tried it at another location and it will connect to other wifi connections. I have another ipod that is connecting just fine to my home wifi.

every user in our company on Office 2013 now has the same issue: shared calendars won't populate with the following error: "no connection" when they try to see another user's calendar in scheduling assistant, it just shows those diagonal lines

Based on "research", reaching out to Rack Space and some desperate Googling, I've tried the following to no avail:
run full repair of Microsoft office 2013 and also reinstalled Office 2013
turn off /on cached exchange mode, turned off /on Work Offline mode
rebuild OST and email profile
start Outlook in safe mode with no add-ins running
check auto discover records and add auto discover server address to local intranet zone in Internet Explorer
modify calendar permissions for both ends of the calendar interaction
check Outlook OWA access, confirmed everything is fine there
anyone have any ideas for me? people in Outlook 2010 have no issues BTW; just Outlook 2013....

As long as you do not enable Sharing of any kind (System Preferences > Sharing) no other computer can connect with yours. Also make sure you have your wireless network protected with a WPA2 password.
That's all I can suggest without knowing what OS version you are running (you are not running iOS as that is for iDevices).
