Connecting to Panasonic LCDTV L37G10

I am trying to connect my Macbook Pro (10.5.8) to Panasonic LCDTV (L37G10) via DP-to-DVI => DVI-to-HDMI cable.
When the TV is on and is switched to the connected HDMI input, my Macbook refreshes briefly as if the TV was detected, BUT the Display Panel shows otherwise, i.e. no external display.
When I switch off the TV (or switch the TV to another HDMI port or a TV channel), Macbook declares that a Panasonic TV is detected and with the correct resolution of 1920x1080. But if I turn on the TV (or switch to the correct HDMI input), the Macbook refreshes and declares no external display.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

After tens of retries, I had it worked once via one of the four HDMI inputs on the TV. Any one has the same experience?

  • How can i connect my Panasonic Viera Link TV with Airport Extreme?

I use the Panasonic adaptor that came with my Blu-ray player. It worked with my Panasonic plasma TV when I used a NetGear router, but I recently changed to an Airport Extreme router and now neither the Blue-ray nor TV will connect. They find my network, but when I enter the password, after waiting a while, I get an error message that the network timed out. My iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Pro and MacAir all connect fine to this router from anywhere in the apartment. I am not using the wrong case when entering the letters of my password. It's exactly the same passsword that I enter on all my devices. Please help me connect the Panasonic TV to the Airport Extreme--I do NOT want to use ethernet. I want to use the wireless connection. Again--it worked fine withe the Netgear router, but does not connect wiht teh Airport Extreme.  Thanks!

Checking the specifications of your camera, I see it as a Firewire out .
DV:  4-pin, digital input/output, IEEE 1394 standard     (IEEE 1394 is Firewire)
So you should be able to connect it to your Mini via the Firewire 800 port.
You will need a Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable because the Firewire on the camera is a 400.
But I couldn't fine any info that confirmed this model is compatible with iMovie if this is what you plan to use for editing.
There is a work around but it is not very easy.
Simplest way to import your videos is still Elgato video capture, but it will not give you the same quality as DV

  • Connecting a Panasonic MIni DV Digital Video Camera

Hi, I hope someone can help. I am new to MAC and Imovie was the main reason I bought this laptop. I tried to connect my Panasonic NV-GS35GN video camera but after following the instructions I can't import any clips. This is what I did:
Plugged in the camera to the computer with USB cable
Camera is on set on PLAY
Moved import/editing switch to the left
    Thank you.
    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel
iMovie only works with firewire, so you will need to use a Firewire cable rather than a USB cable. Panasonic don't supply them, so you'll need to buy one (and they don't tell you this in the instructions!). When you buy the cable, tell them what it is for as there are a couple of types.
When you get the cable, plug the small end into the DV outlet on your camera (on mine it is behind the LCD monitor). Plug the other end of the cable into a firewire outlet on your computer. Open iMovie, switch your camera on and make sure it is tape playback mode.
iMovie will then find your camera, then just press the Import button. iMovie will rewind the tape and then import.
Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please write again.
    Cheers

    Hello,
I wonder if the ThinkPad T61 downloaded any updates while it was on the wired network?  If so, perhaps one of them was a device driver update for the wireless network card.

then you can try a USB cable, however yamaha is not particularly Mac Friendly (check the owner's manual, it may mention if it's Mac COmpatible, or if it perhaps needs a driver)

to use the Aux-OUT with a MBA you'd need an Audio Interface (the Air has not audio inputs):

  • Macbook Pro Retina will not connect to Panasonic E5 tv through HDMI anymore

When I originally purchased the MBP Retina, it connected to my Panasonic E5 tv without any issues. After an Apple update, now there's just blank black screens on both devices. I've tried all the resets I can think of. Both the MBP and tv are running the latest firmwires. This has been the issue since the end of September 2012.
I've tried the MBP on display models in the shop, and the same problem occured there.
Interestingly, the MBP does connect fine to older tv's (between 3 and 5 years) but not the new one. It also seemed to work on the Sony tv's
Has anyone else found this issue, and managed to resolve it?
    Thanks

  • My Macbook shows ITVplayer on screen but I fail to makeHDMI connection to Panasonic Smart TV function although all the connections are properly fitted.

My Macbook displays ITVplayer with sound, but although I have made all the correct connections to my Panasonic mart TV and my Plusnet Internet works at a a sufficient speed I do not have sound or picture on TV screen,  all help welcome

What picture do you get on the TV? And what model is your MacBook? To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

  • Problem with Grop Video connection using Panasonic...

We're trying to do a Group Video between our three offices using a Mac laptop at the main office and Skype installed TV's at the other locations. We can connect to the first office which is using a Panasonic Skype ready TV fine, picture quality is go. When we try a connect the thrid party we can not see anyone and it gives us a message that the other sides do not the latest Skype software. How can we get Panasonic to update their Skype version?

Did you ever get a solution to this problem?

  • Sound works until the call connects on Panasonic T...

Problem: Incoming sound does not work during a call. I have recently purchased a Panasonic TC-P55GT30 55" Plasma TV, a Panasonic SC-HTB520 Sound Bar, and the Logitech TV Cam for Skype. Everything works great except for one instance - a Skype call. Set up was fine, the camera works great, and when I make a call I can hear it ringing through the sound bar. The moment the call connects the sound goes out. When I try to change the volume it tells me the TV speakers are disabled. Well, yes, I am using a sound bar! I can't hear the person speaking. Since both the TV and sound bar are Panasonic they communicate using Viera Link so the TV remote controls the volume. It seems that the Skype software is switching the sound back to the TV speakers right when the call connects and there is no way to change this in settings. If I use the TV speakers the entire time the call works fine. The sound bar sounds much better and switching is not convenient. Is there something I am missing? Thanks, Cam

    Hi.
When you make Skype calls through the Panasonic TV, then the in-call audio has to be directed through the TV speakers, and any external speaker systems have to be disabled.
Normally, when you have sound coming through a set of speakers, this sound gets picked up by the microphone and sent to the person at the other end. This sound then gets picked up by their microphone and sent back to you, creating what is called an 'echo' (or 'round howl'
Skype uses some very complex technology to cancel out these echos, so that you get a natural sounding call. However, this 'echo cancelling' technology doesn't work reliably when you have external speakers connected into your TV (such as a surround sound amplifier or a sound bar). For that reason, Panasonic disable external speakers when using the Skype on TV function.
I did think, however, that Panasonic were switching automatically over to the TV speakers when using Skype (so that you don't have to go into the settings menu to make the switch yourself). I will confirm this with them...

  • Connecting a Panasonic SDR-H80 video camera

    Hi,
I bought a Panasonic SDR-H80 video camera but can't get it connected to my iMac over USB. I turn on the camera, connect the usb-cable and selects "PC" from the camera menu, but nothing shows up on my mac to indicate any new device or drive have been added.
Anyone been successful at this or have any tips?
    Thanks,
    ..Johan

Based on the Amazon specs, it may be possible to load the videos onto an SD Memory card, and load that in a Mac compatible SD card reader that you can plug by USB. MPEG-2 playback component can be bought from the Apple Store for Quicktime, and MPEG2Streamclip can playback said MPEG-2 video free.

  • LAN Connection Error: Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu Ray Player

    Hello,
My Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu Ray player has a wired LAN connection port that is used to download firmware updates.
When I was using a DLink WBR-2310 with Verizon DSL the system worked perfectly with the BD35 player wired to a LAN port on the DLink router. I recently switched to Verizon FiOS and now the BD35 player is wired to LAN port 2 on the FiOS wireless router.
The BD35 is no longer able to connect to the network now that it is wired to the FiOS router. When I run the connection test an error is returned, "Cannot obtain IP Address using DHCP." However, all of my other network devices (Wii, Laptops, Desktops, Print Router, etc.) have had no problem connecting to the router, both wirelessly and wired. I have even wired a laptop to the jack that the BD35 is using and the laptop connects just fine (wireless turned off). Also, I checked the Port Configuration screen on the router and Port 2 is showing that it is connected at 100Mbps Full-Duplex when the BD35 is on, but the device does not appear on the list of devices connected on the My Network screen.
Here are the settings on the BD35:
    - IP Address Auto Configuration (DHCP) = ON
    - DNS Auto Configuration (DHCP) = OFF
    - Auto Detect Connection Speed = ON
Does anyone have experience with this issue? Is it possible to setup a Static IP for the BD35 in the router using the MAC Address for the BD35?
    Thank you!

I'm not familiar with the Panasonic BD35 but I would suggest that you try it with DNS Auto Configuration turned on.
You may also be able to set it up with a  manual address that is way out of the range of anything that you woudl normally use.
    Try the following:
Check the TCP/IP Address that your PC is getting.  Assuming your IP Address is set to 192.168.1.x set the Panasonic to
    IP Address: 192.168.1.200
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    DNS: 192.168.1.1
The Verizon STBs will use 100 to 150 and your other DHCP Devices woudl normally use the addresses between 2 and 99.
If you still have problems try using OpenDNS and set the DNS address to 208.67.222.222.
If you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to click the "Solution?" button so that others can more easily find it.
