Connecting to recently wiped computer

I recently wiped my computer and reinstalled everything.  I downloaded the newest version of iTunes (11.0.4.4) and hooked my iPad which runs iOS 5.1.1 back up without any hitches.  I went to re-download all my purchased content including apps, audiobooks, and iTunesU subscriptions.  My apps and songs all show up without any problem as having been purchased.  However, my iTunesU subscription disappeared and iTunes no longer shows that my audio book has been purchased.  That's one problem.
My second problem I bet is probablly related.  This is the fact that any new apps that I have purchased since the update, won't install onto my iPad.  I checked iOS requirements and it only requires iOS 4 so that is not the problem.
I'd appreciate it very much if anyone can help me out here as I am at a loss as to why the apps won't install and I really don't want to pay for my audiobook again.
Thanks.

Well, the two that are networked, you could set up a 'shared'
directory, so
that either or both computers can read and write to, then
simply store this
file in this directory and both can get to it whenever.
As for the remote computer not networked to yours, well
unless you have
physical access to it, to get it onto a flash drive, portable
hard drive
etc, you are looking a bit limited, without email. Unless you
can get the
person to set up some sort of ftp access or the like, shared
directory with
password access, you might be SOOL.
Cheers,
Brendon
ps. there may be other options, but they allude me at the
moment.

  • I have already purchased iWork bundle but cant add the programs to my recently wiped computer

    The title says it all.
My hard drive had an issue and was wiped clean by Apple a few days ago.
I want to reinstal iWork from my back up but it won't work.
The App Store only give me the option to purchase again.
Do i need to repurchase this software?

If you originally purchased iWork '09 in a retail box or purchased the license electronically within one of the iWork apps, you will have to find the original disc or the e-mail with the license code. As of a minute ago you can still download the trial at this link. Note: clicking the link will automatically start the download.  If you purchased the apps individually in the Mac App Store, they will show up as available to install under the purchased tab.

  • Does Firefox have some kind of firewall??? Recently I can't print or connect to my work computer remotely. Two things I was always to do in the past.

Recently I can't connect to my work computer remotely and I can't print things even when I am using my desktop which is directly connected to the printer. If I go to Internet Explorer or AOL I have no problems but since I mainly use Firefox this has become a major problem.

I encounter similar problem. My TC detects my OKI printer which is connected to the TC via USB but I can't print unless I connect my printer to the TC via Ethernet. Would anyone know how to solve it. Thanks.

  • My lock button on my iphone 4 is broken, but recently my iphone suddenly turned off whilst on 100% and I can't get it on again. I have already tried charging it and connecting it to the computer

Help. So its lock button is broken but it won't turn on, like I said, I have already tried charging it and connecting it to the computer... but nothing happened?

You need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.  It's experiencing hardware problems.  Nothing we can do for you here

  • I recently dropped my ipod in water and i placed it into rice for 3 days. Then when i try and connect it to the computer it shows the no battery screen with just the lightning bolt. and when i try to restore it the screen flashes then resest

Then when i try and connect it to the computer it shows the no battery screen with just the lightning bolt. and when i try to restore it the screen flashes then resest to the no battery screen and i get error 1602. Do you know what is wrong with it? do you think its just the battery cause i can replace that for cheap or do you think the circuts are fried?

No. It sounds like the water destroyed the component inside the iPod.
About your only choice now it to take it to Apple and pay for a replacement.

  • My ipod classic is connected to a new computer, but only sync 241 songs, out 1825.  How can I fix this?

My ipod classic (80 GB, from 2006) is connected to a new computer, but only sync 241 songs, out 1825.  I have restored several times.  How can I fix this?  my old computer is damaged and the new one run on Windows 8.

I ran into this same problem earlier with my new iPod classic 160 gb. Turns out it could be your files show in iTunes but they aren't connected to the location those music tracks are actually located.
    Does this make any sense?
You basically have to make sure iTunes is picking your songs from the right music folder via your preferences.
Option 1: If your iTunes is completely wiped blank and your music is stored in a safe place, backed up, etc. You can do the following:
Step A. Preferences > iTunes Media Folder Location > choose folder
**** please be sure to pick a location that is new or different from where you ACTUALLY stored your music to prevent your files from deleting itself as it updates****
For example, if you stored your music on your Desktop then you wouldn't choose your music folder to be the one in Desktop. You choose the folder where you want your music to go such as C:\My Music or in Mac, you choose the music folder.
Step B. Once you choose the folder where all your music is stored and you check the box that says "Keep iTunes Media Folder organized" and "Copy Files to iTunes Media when adding to library."
Step C. This is the part that will make sense. Drag the folder on desktop that houses all your music into iTunes. Because you checked the box "Copy Files to iTunes Media when adding to library," iTunes will copy all the backup music you dragged into the folder location you designated it in "Preferences > iTunes Media Folder Location > choose folder."
---- once all that is done, your itunes will have ALL your music tracks linked to the right location on your computer and your iPod will sync with as many or all of the music you desire.
    Hope this helps.

  • Connecting to a remote computer

    Hi all,
I have recently started working on a website using

  • Recently my computer stops recognizing anything Bluetooth or USB related (wireless or plugged in) after a few minutes of computer use.

Recently my computer stops recognizing anything Bluetooth or USB related (wireless or plugged in, mouse, keyboard, printer, etc.) after a few minutes of use. I don't know if it's related, but recently I upgraded my iMac g5 (2005) from OSX 10.4 to Leopard 10.5 (I was told though, that my computer can handle the upgrade by Apple personelle). Also, I had the model that was released with a faulty power supply, but Apple fixed that problem for me a couple of years ago. My fan is also pretty loud (but has been for some time) and my computer takes longer to boot that it used to (this is a recent issue). I mention all of this in case there's a chance it's connected to the same problem. Any suggestions?

  • Connecting to a new computer

I had my old laptop stolen, which I had synced with my iPod. Now I have downloaded iTunes on my new laptop, and want to sync with my iPod. All of my tunes from my old laptop are gone, except for the copy on my iPod. But iTunes will not let me sync unless I delete all of my tunes from the iPod and replace with my (now empty) library in my library on the new computer. Is there any way to tell iTunes to "forget" that old computer, upload my iPod tunes to the library on my new computer, so I can get "back to normal?"

You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes. The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod, the transfer of purchased content has recently been introduced with iTunes 7. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. As iTunes 7 is just out some of these may not have caught up with it yet though I haven't experienced any problems with the Mac software I use.
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    iGadget Windows Only
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
    CopyPod Windows Only
For more on the new function in iTunes 7 look under under File>"Transfer Purchases from iPod" which transfers iTMS purchases. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
As your iPod is set to update automatically you just need to take care when connecting back to your computer and an empty iTunes. When you get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. In iTunes 7 Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Don't uncheck Sync Music it will be unchecked by default when you choose the manual setting: Managing content manually on iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.

what shall i do if i forgot my ipod 5th gen password and i cannot connect it to a computer???????
ALSO THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SWITCHING ON MY IPOD IN 5 MONTHS

    If no computer:
    Only if:
If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.
Otherwise you need a computer with iTunes and an internet connection
    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • Connecting iPod v2.3 Computer Freeze

It's an old iPod (15GB right before click-wheel standard).
I recently connected it to my computer and not only iTunes froze up, but most of my other computer applications as well.
I received a component transfer error (Error 142) after a while. After many hard resets and computer resets and shut downs, I still had the same problem. iTunes will work fine alone, and so will the iPod (though it's unstable battery-wise).

If it does not have a click wheel, but it does have a Dock connector, it is a 3rd gen iPod. It is designed to be connected over FireWire, not USB. So if you are using USB, that may be the problem. It may be able to sync over USB when it is fully charged, but it can only charge when connected by FireWire. You also cannot use the Restore function in iTunes, unless there is a FireWire connection.
The only way to use it reliably with USB is to get this special two-ended Docking cable.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9688G/A?mco=MTIxODk3Mw
You connect the USB end to your computer and connect the FireWire end to the white square wall charging adapter (which also must be the FireWire type), so that it can sync and charge at the same time.
