Connecting to Skype

Hi
I cannot get skype to connect. When i go to the website and login it's fine tried reinstalling skype changing my password and such no change.
Downloaded new version, checked i have the correct ports open scratching me head now .
Can anyone help?

this has happened to me in the past
i just wait and somehow it works later on
with no apparent reason as to why it could not connect before,
probably it is due to their servers being down

I can no longer connect to Skype since recent changes. I have downloaded and installed the latest app version available from Verizon, but everytime I connect I get an error stating that the "Connection failed. Please check your connection settings and try again."

Thanks for providing us with additonal information. I have verified this is not a known issues with the Nokia Lumia 822. Allow us to get to the bottom of your wifi connection. Have you tried removing all third party applications and then testing the device? Also, since this did start after a sofware update, I would suggest to back up all of your information and then do a hard reset. I cannot connect any skype accounts on my Eurostar...

Hello. I have tried for a number of days now to connect 'preloaded' skype on my Eurostar Smart TV. I have used my existing account details and also tried with my Microsoft account, but no joy. I have also tried to create a new skype account on my tv.
All these things respond with the message 'cannot connect to skype at this time, please check your mobile settings and try again'.
I am connected to my wireless router and have a good internet connection.
Can anyone help? This TV was bought for my kids playroom so they can skype their grandparents as we live a long way from home.

Can't Connect To Skype Server

Currently trying to connect to skype and I get stuck on signing in, and it attempts this for a while until it eventually will tell me skype can't connect. I have upgraded to the latest version of skype and I don't have an active firewall, can anyone help?

Giving permission for apps to connect to skype ver...

I have skype version 5.5.32.124.
I would like the facility to record my audio calls to other phones, and so i downloaded a number of apps that do this (e.g. g-recorder, call burner)
They all require that I give permission for the app to connect to skype. They instruct me to connect to skype and to look for the authorisation message (near the top of the window), stating for example, "callburn.exe wants to use skype" with two buttons "allow access" and "deny access". I obviously need to "allow access" to be able to use the app.
Only problem is I can't find any such message in my skype window. I've also investigated tools/options/advanced and looked for anything that lets me switch on the facility for external apps to connect to skype. Can't find anything!
Can someone help me??

I am a Win7 PC, so I see the text which I circled in orange in the screen shot, below; do you? Since there are versions 5.5 in both Windows and Mac, I think it would be helpful to learn which platform you are using Skype on as resolving the issue may be dependent upon the version of Skype. Also, in both cases of 5.5, these versions are dated; resolving the missing text may be as simple as updating to the most recent version of Skype and ensuring your computer is fully updated.

TS1702 I have the Ipod Touch and installed Skype. I have an account with Skype but when I try to connect my Ipod, I receive a message saying " We didn't recognize your Skype Name and password" I connect to Skype through my Facebook account.

Try contacting/going to their support site either/or Skype or FB. I would start with Skype

I can not connect to Skype anymore.I have added exception in my firewall and I am not behind a proxy. Every time I want to connect a the circle rotates only and after a few minutes I receive error message "Skype can not connect.Get help fixing this problem". Hi I have a Nokia 6120 Classic on Vodafone Egypt. Last month I downloaded skype mobile onto the phone and was able to skype reasonably well (within limitations as I am at a remote location) I left Egypt for some three weeks and on my return the skype application now does not work. I have discussed this with Vodafone and they have resent the settings to the mobile and I have also removed and reloaded Skype. But still no joy it just hangs when signing in until it times out? Skype version is Sybian 1.5.0.12, it's saved on the phone memory. In the advanced settings the incoming conn. port 8877 The Alternative in. ports 8877.
I can still get the internet on the mobile (eg Google and searches ok) Voda fone tell me if I can access the internet I should be able to access Skype? As far as I can see this is the right Skype download and I got it from the Nokia website. In need of some help please as this little application was really quite good, the other options are very expensive.

I have small organization with 5 Pc and 1 server
And there is strange problem, in whole organization, impossible connect to skype from any Pc or server. Installation of skype work perfectly, tested with few versions.
When am write my login and password skype sad that user name or password is incorrect, but I know that it is OK.
Same situation when I try to login www.skype.com, I`m able open the page, but Sing In impossible with any login or password!
The same situation on any PC or server.
Server 2003R2 - AD, Pc all on WinXP

Not quite sure why I have to go through a community registration process just to post a comment to help another Skype user but there it is.
In my experience this message is very poor user feedback from Skype, becuase what it actually means is "your version of Skype is out of date, and you can't connect until you update to the latest version." So try updating.
This is painful when you use it to stay in touch with family on the other side of the world because you waste your wondow to communicate doing IT support for your relatives just to get it to work - updates are way too frequent. It seems like a severe product failure to me to not even allow login, and not tell us why.

Trouble connecting to Skype

We are attempting to use Skype on our iPads at the office. We teach classes each week and wanted to compare Skype and Facetime. We have the latest app, attempt to sign in to our account. It says "signing in" but then returns an error message "Can't connect to Skype." We have deleted the app and redownloaded in case of corruption, but still no luck.

Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling it? Both Skype and Facetime should work over either WiFi or cellular (Facetime over cellular availabilty depends on the carrier). Even if the connection isn't great, you should still be able to sign in.
You may also want to look at Skype's help pages. I find them a bit confusing to navigate but still useful.

Skype will only provide possibly sensitive information (which may include IP address/es) to the proper law enforcement bodies. You can ask your local police to contact Skype to request for such information. Most likely they already know how to get in touch with Skype.
