Connecting to the internet..need help!

I just got a new Power Book 15' and I want to have it connected to the internet. I already have my G4 connected. I have SBC yahoo DSL and I called there tech support and they said I need to buy the 2Wire Modem...but they also said I need to buy an adaptor but they didnt seem to sure on what adaptor I would need so I can have my laptop connected wirelessly. So I was wondering if you guys could help. I know I have a wireless card in my laptop but i dont know which one. If you can help let me know. Thank you

If you have a new Powerbook 15", you have an Airport Extreme wireless network interface built in. Therefore you don't need to buy anything else - your Powerbook and its built in Airport Extreme wireless network interface will work just fine with the 2Wire wireless router you are going to be getting.

Try restarting the browser or computer..
if it still doesn't work, try with a different browser like chrome or mozilla

Try
Reboot the computer, see if that fixes it.
Then try:
Backup your files off the computer (not TimeMachine) and disconnect
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk and simply reinstalling OS X
Log in and update to 10.6.8
c boot off the 10.6 disk again and use Disk Utility >Repair Disk
reboot and all should be fine, except some third party programs that install kext files, those will have to be reinstalled from fresh sources.

My ipad wont connect to the internet server, help please!

My ipad suddenly wouldn't connect to the internet so I turned it off and on, checked the settings, there wasn't anything wrong and I could connect to my wifi from my phone in the same location. So I pressed reset and delete all data and settings. Now it wont reset and a message comes up that says "your ipad could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached:. Try connecting your ipad to itunes to activate it or try again in a couple of minutes." I cant connect to itunes because I cant get past this page in the reconfiguring process. Trying again and again will not work. Can anyone help?

By reseting and deleting all data and settings, you wiped your iPad clean of anything that was "yours". Put your iPad into recovery mode and restore from iTunes. Hopefully you have a backup there to recover all your data.

Time Capsule has green light, but I can not connect to the internet. Help please

Just got a new Time Capsule. After a few tries, I finally got the green light. But I now can not conect to the internet. Help please.

Problem Solved.....call ATT and they gave me the information I needed....account is a PPPoE. Use your ATT email address as the username, and then ATT provided the network password. Enter the information, update, restart. Now, internet access is achieved.

Were you definitely connected to the internet at the time? If you don't have iOS 5 on your iPhone then the only way to update it would be via iTunes, once updated to the latest version of iOS you'll be able to update your iPhone without connecting to iTunes "over-the-air".
Before updating however it goes without saying to Backup your iPhone, this should happen by default upon connecting your iPhone to iTunes.

Can't connect to the internet! Help!

I finally got my iMac back for it's third repair in two months and I've spent the entire night trying to get it onto the internet via airport. What's surprising is that I am typing this from the same network on a PC. I am beginning to think it's a hardware issue so I went and started a hardware test, the airport was the first thing to pass. I am trying to connect to a Netgear wireless network which is connected to an SBC Yahoo! DSL modem. I was able to connect before I got it repaired but ever since I got it repaired. I am getting really frustrated with this and I would like to be able to connect to the internet on my iMac as I was able to before. If anyone has ANY advice at all, please reply to this because this is an urgent issue.

Is it connecting to the Router or Modem?
Is the new Router using maybe WPA2 encryption? If so, G4s can only do WPA or less.

The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
Then... Try putting these numbers in Network>Airport>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...

Then Apply.
Also, turn off IPv6:

You haven't provided much information, such as what type of router you have? If you entered the encryption key as the password as opposed to the router name you have selected? If you have WEP or WPA? im having hard time connecting to the internet even if wifi has a very strong signal as indicated on the phone..i tried every solution that i found in the internet but to no avail..i tried restarting my phone..i tried turning the airplane mode on then switching the wifi on but still unsuccessful..even mobile data isnt working..i configured the apn manually applying the recommendations of the network provider but its still offline..how am i gonna connect to the internet..help me pls..thanks

I need help getting my Airport Extreme to connect to the internet

Hello everyone,
I need some help setting up my AirPort Extreme. I'm trying to reestablish the express after a couple years of not using it. When I've set it up in the past, I've always had a hard time, and by accident it seems, I click something or turn something on and off, and I get it to work.
I have a 802.11g second generation airport extreme. I'm able to connect to my network and I can move files back and forth from the laptop to the desktop, and vise versa.
I have a MacPro 2007, ethernet cable connected to my Linksys router, with two internal hard drives. One has OSX 10.5.8, AirPort Utility 5.6.1, and everything is up to date. The other has OSX 10.6.8, AirPort Utility 5.6.1. I also have a MacBookPro 2011, It came with Snow Leopard installed and I upgraded it to OSX 10.7.4. I installed AirPort Utility 5.6.1.
All three systems can see and connect to my network, but will not connect to the internet. The extreme's IP starts with 169.254.xxx.xxx, and there's an exclamation point on the wi-fi icon.
The set up I have now is a Westell DSL modem from Verizon. I have the ethernet cable from the DSL modem connected to the WAN port of the express and the other cable going from the ethernet port from the extreme to the ethernet port of my Linksys router 4 port switch, model #BEFSR41 V.3. I have reversed the connection to and from the extreme with the same result.
This is what I've done so far with no luck:
• Unplugged the DSL modem, Linksys router, and the extreme for about twenty minutes.
• Updated the Linksys firmware.
• I have reset the extreme from the back and thru the AirPort Utility many, many times.
• I've done a hard reset. I don't know if it worked. After the extreme powered back up, my network's name and settings were still the same. On a positive note, I'm now able to get on the web when I set the connection sharing to "Distribute a range of IP addresses" using the ethernet on my desktop. Before, I was only able to do so when the connection sharing in AirPort Utility was set to "Off (Bridge Mode)".
Any other Ideas?

Sorry about the confusion. My goal is to get online wirelessly with my MacBook Pro and be able to use the ethernet connection for my MacPro.
My DSL modem is a Westell WireSpeed model A90-210015-04, the Linksys router, and the AirPort Extreme.

I have turn off my phone, signed off my wifi, installed a new app, but nothing is working. My friend is having similar issues. My phone is up to date. I even tried taking off the wifi in hopes that it could just connect to the 3g but nothing. Not sure if anyone else is experiencieng this issue or knows what I can do. I think that it may be an app problem that needs fixed, but not sure. Help!

Maybe its a Viber problem. As that is not an Apple product, why don't you try and contact the developer?
