Connecting to wifi with oss

Hello
I have a wifi at home which use OSS to connect. I' can't use the codewords anymore. And I can't connect when I press the OSS button (as I can with PC or mobilephone). How do I get the Ipad to communicate with my accespoint.
Regards
Henrik

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Hi ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You may have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.

If I'm connected in wifi with my Macbook, can I share the internet with Iphone? Thanks

If you are asking about the Internet Sharing feature on the Mac, the answer would be that this option is not available for normal wireless, but it might work for BlueTooth.  Might be worth a try that way.
However, if the Mac had an Ethernet Internet connection, then you could create your own "private" wireless network to allow wireless devices to connect.

  • IPad 3 with iOS 6 fails to connect to WiFi with WPA2 and AES - any solutions available?

    Hello *,
after upgrading my iPad 3 to iOS 6 it constantly fails to connect to WiFi with WPA2 and AES - hidden or broadcasted SSID - at home and at work because the device does not accept the WPA2 password. This is also the case for my iPhone 4S but both devices did work with WiFi (WPA2 / AES) perfectly with previously installed iOS 5.1.1.
I tried to downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 but it seems to be no longer possible to downgrade for both iPad 3 and iPhone 4S as the certification and signage window for iOS 5.1.1 maybe has been closed by Apple.
Does anyone know about a possible solution to connect to WiFi with WPA2 and AES with iPad 3 / iPhone 4S and iOS 6 upgrade?
Thank you very much for any help and advise.
    Best regards from Germany
    Matthias

  • I can't connect to wifi with iPhone5. Does anyone knows why? and what to do?

I can't connect to wifi with iPhone5. Does anyone knows why? and what to do?
    Thank you.

    The Holy Mecha of Wifi
Turn router off then on Try turning your wireless router off then back on.
Change or turn off wireless security You may want to try toggling the settings on your wireless router, switching from WPA to WEP or vice versa, or, as a last resort, turning wireless security off altogether. For AirPort routers, this can be accomplished with the AirPort Admin Utility. For other routers, this can usually be accomplished by accessing the router’s configuration page — open a browser and enter the address 192.168.1.1.
Reset network settings on iPad. On your iPad, open Settings, then navigate to “General” in the left-hand pane. Scroll down and tap Reset, then select “Reset Network Settings.” This will delete any stored WiFi passwords and other information, but may result in a more stable connection.
Adjust brightness upward. Oddly, a number of users have found that they can resolve this issue by simply adjusting the iPad’s brightness level upward and off the lowest setting. To do this, tap Settings, then select “Brightness & Wallpaper” from the left-hand pane. Slide the brightness bar upward, then wait 1-2 minutes and check for an improvement in signal strength. Speculation holds that a power delivery issue associated with the screen brightness affects Wi-Fi.
Change thresholds in router settings. Access your routers configuration screen (for most routers, open a browser and enter the address 192.168.1.1), then change the fragmentation threshold and the CTS/RTS threshold as described here. Some users have found success with the settings Fragmentation= 2048, RTS = 512.
Change 802.11 spec on router. Try changing your router’s wireless spec mode from B, G and N to G only or vice versa. For AirPort routers, this can be accomplished with the AirPort Admin Utility. For other routers, this can usually be accomplished by accessing the router’s configuration page — open a browser and enter the address 192.168.1.1.
Switch routers. Although a far-from-ideal solution, some users have found success with switching to a different wireless router.
Turn off “Ask to Join Networks.” To do so, tap Settings on your iPad, then select “Wi-Fi” from the left-hand pane. Slide “Ask to Join Networks” to off. Speculation holds that leaving this option on causes the iPad to constantly seek networks, resulting in some type of interference with the network to which it is connected.
Forget network then rejoin. Tap Settings on your iPad, then select Wi-Fi from the left-hand pane. Choose the network with which you are experiencing difficulty, then select “Forget this network.” Go back to the previous screen and rejoin the network.
Turn off Bluetooth. Some users report that, perhaps due to interference issues, turning off Bluetooth can boost Wi-Fi signal strength. To do so, tap Settings then tap General in the left-hand pane. Tap Bluetooth in the right-hand pane, then slide to off.

  • How do i connect to wifi with ipad?

I just recieved my ipad 2. i cannot connect to wifi...help?

Ok so I have been battling with the same issue for a while now and have finally managed to crack it.
I have a Huawei 3G router that has been working for my PC;s and iPhone for a few years now. I then bought an iPad3 (3G and Wifi) and could just not connect it to the wifi network.
Fortunately I have a spare Linksys router (WRT320N) which has a setting to change the Wireless band from 2.4GHz to 5Ghz with 20/40MHz pipe. After changing this no problem iPad could connect.
So now I have 2 wireless networks running with internet connectivity only on the 3G so I plugged a lan cable from the 3G router into the internet port on the Linksys, set the Linksys up with a static internet connection and now I can access the internet via this method on the iPad.
Funny thing is, my iPhone cannot connect to the Linksys my laptop can however. Anyway so now I connect the iPad via the Linksys router and the iPhone via the 3G router.
I think Apple have pretty much messed up with the wireless bands on their products.......it would appear that they don't understand ? If they did they would make it pretty clear and from my efforts to try and sort this out i see there are many people out there, like me, who are laymen and there is no where that this is explained properly.
Most of the installed base of wireless routers I would think are on the 2.5GHz band, I say this beacause there are virtually NO wifi networks out there that I can connect to.
This is a huge frustration and a pretty poor reflection on Apple. So much for MOBILITY!!!!!

  • IPhone 4 having trouble connecting to wifi with redirect

    Hi all,
I was wondering if someone out there can help me.  I have an iPhone 4 running 5.0.1.  Ever since i upgraded to iOs 5, i have noticed trouble connecting to the wifi at work.  At home and school the phone connects perfectly.  At work we have a redirect page.  When going under safari it just uses my mobile network (which is not that strong).  I check the wifi menu and it seems as if it is "trying" to connect...it shows the grey pinwheel spinning next to the correct netowrk but nothing ever happens.  I try to "renew lease", i turn off wifi, i reset the phone.  Sometimes it connects first try.  Other times it takes HOURS.  I assumed maybe it was just the network, so i attempted to try to connect my nook, and the nook connects right away.  I never touched any settings, but i am very confused on to what may be going on here to explain the type of problem i am having since iOs 5.  Thank you in advance.
    Jenn

You'll need to provide complete details before anyone will be able to offer suggestions.
For future posts, please don't put a lot of excess characters in the subject line. Just a brief summary of the problem - e.g. "iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.01 cannot connect to WiFi" - will be sufficent. I've asked the Hosts to edit out the superfluous junk.
    Regards.

  • I can not connect to wifi with router WRT54G2 v1 with Windows 7

Hi everyone: I have a Linksys WRT54G2 V1 and since I bought my new notebook with Windows 7 I can not access the wifi.
I have another notebooks with Windows Vista and a PC with Windows XP that connect perfectly, but with Windows 7 gives me error when loading the password.
I Update the firmware to version 1.0.04 (this the latest version I found on the cisco site), but still don't work.
I Try chatting with Cisco support and was told he was no longer under warranty ....
Can you tell me how to solve this problem ???
Thank you for your help !!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Sure, disable security on the router completely for now.  Now try to connect with no security.  Once done and verified  go back and add  security back on of WPA2-AES with a new password and try again.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • I can't connect to wifi with my iPhone 6

My iPhone 6 will not connect to wifi. I have restarted it, restored network settings. I have shut off the key chain in iCloud.

    Hi bgb07,
If you have an issue with your iPhone not connecting to any Wi-Fi networks, and you have already tried restarting the phone and restoring your network settings, I would suggest that you back up any data on your iPhone and restore it as a new device. See this article -

  • Lumia 820 cannot connect hidden WIFI with special ...

    Dear all,
I found Lumia 820 could not connect hidden WIFI (non-broadcast SSID) with special configuration. Just as shahidzafar said in Microsoft community (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp8-wpnetwork/nokia-lumia-820-cant-connect-to-hidd...).  I face the same issue with his Lumia. Could anyone face the same issue? Do we need to update some patch for Windows system on Lumia? Thanks.
                                                                                                                                                                               Tianhao.

I have exactly the same problem. Would appreciate some advice.
Please don't suggest changing the settings in the corporate network - this is simply impossible. And unnecessary, as I can judge from the other Windows-phones of my colleagues (not Lumia 820) which CAN connect to the hidden network.
    Thanks!

  • I cannot connect to wifi with ios7. It will not find any network. What do I do?

Ever since I updated to ios7, my iPhone 5 has been having problems connecting to wifi. When I go into Settings, it is unable to find the network at home, at school, in public areas, etc. I know that the internet and wifi work in my house because my fiance is able to find and connect to it on his phone no problem. I tried resetting the network settings but that did not help. What can I do? Apple should fix this if it's a bug with ios7. I've been having SO many problems with this update.

  • Can't Stay Connected to WIFI with brand new MBA

I just set up my new MBA, and cannot stay connected to wifi, no matter what I do. Sitting next to my MBA is my IPAD and IPhone which both show wifi connection working. I have followed the advice from the community posted in August ( wish I knew the MBA wifi problem before buying), with no luck. No other devices shows wifi connectivity problems, router works great, and I cannot download any patches due to connectivity issue.  UGH.  Any wisdom to share?
    Thanks

Have you tried connecting to other WiFi connections? If so does it do the same?
If not, it might just be to do with the amount of periphirals on your current router and subsequently your router is kicking off you iPhone.
Or you could try changing your broadcasting channel in your internet router settings and see if this fixes it
