Connecting TopLink to MQseries via EIS and J2C adapter

Hi all,
has anybody connected successfully TopLink with (non-relational) datasource MQSeries?
I have tree-tier-architecture with a custom server and RMI-clients. TopLink resides within this custom server (NOT J2EE App server) and connects to DB2 (mainframe) via JDBC. Now I'm trying to establish a connection to MQ as well and two phase commit. Has anybody experience with it? Best regards

Set the TV to the input you connected the HDMI cable to.
On your computer, if you open the Displays preferences and do not see an Arrangement tab (or there is an Arrangement tab that shows only a single monitor) then there is something physically wrong with your connection.  Try clicking Detect Displays just to see if the computer can now sense the presence of the connection. Check your cables and make sure the mini-displayport plug is pushed firmly in so that essentially all the metal part disappears inside the socket.  Mini-displayport plugs can be a little tricky in that you need to make sure the plug is fully seated in their socket.
Once you do have an Arrangement tab, and it shows two screens, then click Gather Windows to bring the TV's Displays preferences on to your main screen if the TV is not yet showing an image.  Set the proper resolution (probably 720p, 1080i, or 1080p).  Set the refresh rate (probably 60Hz) if that preference is shown.  You should see a picture at this point.  I  recommend turning off mirrored displays if it is enabled.
You may have to play with the underscan/overscan settings on your TV and the displays prefs for the TV if the picture is too small or larger for the TV screen.
Also, you need to set your Sound preferences to output to the HDMI connection.  If the MBP doesn't support audio through the mini-displayport then you will need to connect your stereo audio out to your TV (3.5 mm stereo jack for the compter to usually RCA jacks on the TV).
And when running Lion, do not run in Lion full screen mode.

You can't buy the part from Creative as a spare.
I'm not sure how compatible other parts might be, but that would be a question for someone who really knows a lot about this area of electronics.
The Creative repair for this is likely to be expensi've, but the problem is most likely a broken solder connection than an actual new headphone socket. So if you know someone experienced in surface mount soldering you could probably get it repaired just with this.

  • Can iPad3 connect to Apple TV via Airplay, and Bluetooth speaker at the same time?

I'm making a best man speech using Keynote at a wedding tomorrow, for which I need audio as well as video. The Apple TV is connected via HDMi to the projector, and I can control the presentation wirelessly from my iPad. So far so good. There is a Bluetooth-enabled speaker which my iPad can connect to via Bluetooth, but then it loses the Airplay connnection to the Apple TV. Is there a work around? I guess if I had an Airplay-enabled speaker and not a Bluetooth enabled one, I'd be OK, but I don't have time to go buy one now.
It appears my only option if I want to use the speaker (which I do), is to use my MacbookPro instead and connect via HDMI straight into the projector and bypass the Apple TV altogether. Which means I'm stuck standing by the macbook pressing SPACE BAR every time I want to change slides, as opposed to using the iPad wirelessly which lets face it would look far cooler!

Pretty sure you can't route the audio via bluetooth and the headphone jack.

  • Set up printer connected to Time Capsule via USB and print without WiFi

Is there any way to do this? We use a Time Capsule for daily backups, for both Mac and PCs, and have a printer that we would like to share between all of them. Before, we had the printer connected to a PC as this allowed both PCs and Macs to print to it, but of course the PC had to be on. For whatever reason, when we plugged the printer into a Mac, the PCs couldn't connect or print.
From what Apple has told me, I have two options:
    1. Share the printer via WAN, which is not desirable, as any other office could then print to our printer.
    2. Create a hidden, password-protected, wireless network. This causes problems for two reasons. Firstly, we are not permitted to "extend" the network, and by creating a wireless network and attaching it onto the ethernet network, we are basically doing that. Secondly, if we did create this wireless network, computers that connected to the network to be able to see the printer would then default to the wireless network for internet access, rather than the ethernet connection.
If I am misunderstanding something, or someone has an idea of how to password protect a printer connected to a Time Capsule without using wifi, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sharing via WAN through the Time Capsule, for whatever reason, is not password protected. Any computer in our building can see the printer, and use it. When we were sharing the printer through the PC / Bonjour, when setting up the printer on a new machine, a valid username and password from the connected PC was required.
I should add that the purpose of trying to share this via the Time Capsule, rather than the PC, is that the Time Capsule is always on, and we notice an increase in performance when the PCs are powered down regularly.

  • Connecting to Time Capsule via wireless and uverse

Here is my setup: I have Uverse and a Time Capsule. I have Uverse creating a wireless network, the TC plugged in via ethernet cable to Uverse and set in bridge mode. The TC is also creating a wireless network. I can use any device to connect to the wireless of either the Uverse or TC without any problems.
When trying to access the harddrive on the TC from a windows machine I can be on either the Uverse or the TC wireless network and connect without issue. If IM on my MAC I can connect via any of the wireless options, but I can only access the TC Harddrive (via Finder) if Im connected to the TC wireless network, if Im on the UVERSE network then the TC says connection failure.
Same goes for accessing the airport util on the MAC. It can see the TC and change the settings when on the TC network, but not if on the Uverse network.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just how the MAC is set to view/handle the TC?
    Thank you, Erich

There is a difference between the default domain of the Uverse and the TC.
There is also issues perhaps with ipv6 which is now important to access and use the TC.
Do you have ipv6 set to link-local on the computer? This is crucial.
Also try netstat scan from network utility (hidden now in Mavericks so just type network in the search in finder)
Do the scan and see what you come up with when connected to either box.
For Mavericks.. I think sticking to short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric helps.
You can see the domain of the apple routers here is local. When the Mac gets an IP from the Apple router it will also pick up the domain.. so you can see my mini has local also as domain.. When it gets the IP from the Uverse it might not get a domain at all.. or it might be something else.
Anyway it gives you a few things to look at.
Try manually mounting the TC disk even if you still fail to get a connection using the Go, Connect to server from top menu in finder.
Use AFP://TCname.local or even better. AFP://TCIPaddress (where you replace with actual name or actual IP address)

  • WWSAPI - Cannot connect to web service via SSL and HTTP proxy authentication with NTLM, errorCode 0x803d0016, HTTP status 407

    Hi,
I built a web service client using WWSAPI. The connection works via SSL (without HTTP proxy) and it works with SSL and proxy with basic authentication as well. When I try to connect using a proxy with NTLM authentication, then I get the errorCode
0x803d0016, HTTP status "407 (0x197)", "Proxy Authentication Required".
In WireShark I see only one HTTP request to connect to the proxy with NTLM Message Type: NTLMSSP_NEGOTIATE. The HTTP Response returns Status 407 and the connection ist closed. Comparing this to Internet Explorer - the Connection is not closed and
a second request with NTLMSSP_AUTH is sent.
Why doesn't it make the complete NTLM handshake? Why wasn't sent the NTLMSSP_AUTH directly?
    I oriented in the HttpCalculatorWithKerberosOverSslClientExample.
    Using WS_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_SECURITY_BINDING,
    WS_SECURITY_BINDING_PROPERTY_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_SCHEME was set to WS_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_SCHEME_NTLM, WS_SECURITY_BINDING_PROPERTY_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_TARGET to WS_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_TARGET_PROXY. I tried WS_DEFAULT_WINDOWS_INTEGRATED_AUTH_CREDENTIAL_TYPE but also WS_STRING_WINDOWS_INTEGRATED_AUTH_CREDENTIAL_TYPE.
    Any idea?
    Thanks

  • Connecting to Time Capsule via Ethernet AND wireless

I have connectivity through an Ethernet network to which my Time Capsule is connected. I connect wireless to TC, but another Mac which is out of wireless range -but still in the same Ethernet network,- cannot connect to TC via ethernet. Is there a way to have access to TC both wireless and via ethernet?
    Thanks
    Nilde

Hello Nadjia. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Is there a way to have access to TC both wireless and via ethernet?
Yes, the TC supports both wireless and Ethernet clients simultaneously. Let's double-check the Built-in Ethernet settings on the Mac that you are trying to connect via Ethernet.
System Preferences > Network > Show > Network Port Configurations
o Verify that a Built-in Ethernet option exists. If it does not, click "+" to create one. (Note: If you are unable to create a Built-in Ethernet configuration, the Ethernet card in your computer either doesn't exist or it is not recognized.)
o Verify that Built-in Ethernet is at the top of the list. If it isn't, you can drag it to the top.
    Advanced > TCP/IP tab
    o Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
    o Configure IPv6: Off
    Advanced > DNS tab
o Verify that your ISP's DNS server(s) appear. If they do not, click "+" add them.
    Advanced > Proxies tab
    o Configure Proxies: Manually
o Select a proxy server to configure: <All proxies should be unchecked unless you specifically require a proxy for Internet access.>
    o Exclude simple hostnames (unchecked)
o Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains: <leave blank>
o Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV) (checked)
    Ethernet tab
    o Configure: Automatically

  • Connect my Exchange server via Wifi and EA6500

Hello, I have a problem. Since I have installed my new router, a Linksys EA6500, I have many problems to connect to my Exchange Server, which is located in my house, via Wifi. I tried to synchronize my Iphone and my Samsung tablet but it won't work. Most of the times I get the message that the Exchange server cannot be connected. When I turn off my Wifi en connect via my mobile provider I have no problems. When I am on a third party wifi I also can connect my server. Seems my own wifi causes lots of problems. My old router, a Dlink dir655, never had this problems. Can anyone help me?

Make sure that you have replicated the settings of your old router to the settings of the new router and then try also to isolate this problem by using a laptop computer and check if it will work. The purpose of using a laptop is order for you to isolate if the problem is with the router’s firmware. Check if opening port 443 on your router will be able to fix this issue. You can also check the links below for further information about this concern.

  • "Can not connect to iTunes Store" via iPhone and iPad

I can not connect to iTunes store from my mobile divices.  I can through iTunes on my Macbook Pro running Leopard (10.6.8).  My company has not authorized update to Lion yet.
I have the same problem on my iPhone and iPad 1.  This has occured since updating to IOS 5.0.1, but I do not know if it is the cause or just a coincidence.
Since I can make purchases through my Macbook and sync, it's not a crisis, but just an big irritation.

    Apple ID problems.
An additional consideration might be that I have had Apple ID problems.  With the move to an ID for iCloud my old Apple ID and a new one using an email address got mixed up and in conflict.  It took Apple Support staff to clean it up.  For a few days, everything seemed to be running fine on my new/old/restored single ID.  I did not think this was a problem, because the error sited a connection problem not an ID or password problem.  Could this be a factor?

  • Connecting to Airport Express via Linksys Wireless-G adapter

I am trying to use a linksys compact adapter (WUSB600N) to connect a Windows XP PC to my Airport Express- The linksys monitor CAN detect the Airport Express, but "cannot associate with the access point" for a few seconds, then "can associate... but cannot find the Internet"
I haven't had any problems connecting my MBP and a Vista notebook to my AX, just this PC using this adapter.
    Can anyone help me?

To Connect your Computer to the Wireless Network you need to change some settings on your Router...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbors network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select TKIP...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key. For example , MySecretKey , This will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and remember the key.
NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • How do I connect Apple TV to external speakers and my TV?

I just bought an Apple TV for my studio apartment and have it connected to my TV via HDMI, and use AirPlay to stream my music and videos. Video works great, but the my TV's internal speakers are low quality. So, I would like to have my audio come from external speakers (which I have not bought yet), for the following 2 scenarios:
Listening to music via AirPlay, preferably without having to turn my TV on.
Watching videos on my TV, with the audio coming through my external speakers rather than the TV speakers
I see my Apple TV has an Optical Audio (Toslink) port, but the salesperson at the nearby electronics store said none of their speakers have Toslink cables, only 3.5 mm (or USB). The only solution I found is an AV receiver box that has optical input but costs hundreds of dollars. I am looking for something cheaper and am willing to settle for "pretty good" sound quality.
Is there another way to get this to work?
This article recommends using a digital audio converter (DAC) to connect the Apple TV to a stereo amplifier. This seems like it would satisfy scenarios (1) and (2) above.
Also, I found this "Toslink to 3.5 mm adapter" for a few bucks; could I just plug that into my Apple TV and then connect it to any speakers (like computer speakers) with 3.5mm input?
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Rex,
Since the toslink is optical, the 3.5mm adapter will not work for you as it is only ment as a conversion to a mini-toslink cable. Your first option of using the DAC, is in my opinion the best and perhaps only way to get audio out without going to a fancy amp or tuner first.
One option that I'm considering is the Bose Solo TV sound system. It might set you back about 4-Grant's, but I generally enjoy the sound of bose for most music/tv/movie purposes; and it has a direct optical audio input that you can run either from your tv or your ATV. Whatever audio you're sending to your TV via the HDMI, should go to these speakers through your HDTV's toslink output with equal digital clarity.
I've read a few other posts on the apple discussion forum which lead me to believe that the optical output of the ATV might not work so well after the 5.2 update... so whatever I do, it won't be JUST for use with the ATV.

  • Connecting to DSL manually via PPPoE

I have a 2Wire 2071A modem connected to my G5 via ethernet and I'm playing around with connecting to the internet. My ISP is Telstra Bigpond in Australia. Everything works fine until I try and connect manually like I used to with dialup. I like to do things manually so I can see how things work.
If my understanding is correct (please indicate if it is not), under normal operation:
    1. After everything has been configured correctly and rebooted, the modem has a little talk to some device in the local exchange which, because I'm with Bigpond, will only allow me to connect to Bigpond. ie I do not have to enter a Bigpond IP address because that's already been setup.
    2. During the little talk, my modem sends my user name and password; the device in the local exchange talks to Bigpond and checks the info; then it connects me to the internet.
    What I want to do:
I have looked at the setup page for the modem and it is connecting to the internet using PPPoA with a user name and password. I have changed the setting to PPPoE and it still works. What I want to do (I'm just experimenting) is to bridge the modem so that all the internet connection is done by my G5. Assume the modem has been bridged correctly.
This is how I attempted to connect to the internet:
    1. Network > Show: Built-in Ethernet > PPPoE > Connect using PPPoE
    2. I filled in the User Name and Password.
    3. When I look under the TCP/IP tab I noticed it changed to: Configure IPv4: Using PPP. All settings under TCP/IP were not available or optional so I didn't enter any.
When I tried to connect to the internet via Internet Connect, after a minute or two it says "Server not Found"
    Have I missed some setting?

I'll answer my own question. When I gave the 2wire the boot and tried a D-Link 504 modem in bridged mode, I was able to connect and disconnect to the internet manually with the settings I gave, just like I used to for dialup. I'm happy now. I can control the beast.
