Connecting two 1-wire channels to a 2-Wire channel in Switch Executive

I have a custom IVI 24x16 matrix and will be using the channels in groups of 2 and 4.  I would like to connect these 2 and 4-wire signals to the AB0 and AB1 inputs of a PXI-2503 multiplexer.  In Switch Executive all the signals of my matrix are characterized as 1-wire, but the PXI-2503 multiplexer inputs are characterized as 2 and 4-wire when in those respective modes. I can't figure out how to configure these as hardwires or buses so that Switch Executive will allow me to select one endpoint as the matrix and one as the multiplexer output.
-Andy

Andy,
At this time, Switch Executive does not have support for creating
routes that span channels with different wire modes. As a work around,
you could create routes for individual legs of a route that have
uniform wire mode, and then group them into route groups. This way you
will lose some of the auto-routing otherwise available to you when you
have uniform wire mode, but you will still have the flexibility of
having named routes in your application.
I hope this helps,

  • How can I connect two PS3 to the same Linksys WRT54G correctly

    Hi,
i'm trying to connect two PS3 to the same routeur without having conflicts. Everytime i try to update my game softwares it tells me error 80710723 or now 8002AD23. I gave the two PS3 different IP adresses, i opened all the ports that Playstation suggested me to open (http://playstation.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/241) and gave them different DNS adresses but still they cannot download any software content without bugging the console. I also use a PC, Tablet and Phone with my wireless connection.
    thank you
    -François

Well in this case the error code (80710723 ) is generated when the internet connection is slow. So you can try the following step:
    # Open up the browser and on the address bar type 192.168.1.1 that will open up the Router setup page.
    # Lower the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) from 1500 to 1400 or less (usually found on your router's main/ basic setup page)
    # Make the Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 6, 9, 11..
#Adjust the following advanced wireless settings:
~~ Lower the beacon interval from 100 to 75
~~ Lower the fragmentation threshold from 2346 to 2306
~~ Lower the RTS threshold from 2347 to 2304

  • Is it possible to directly connect two Xserves with a Promise VTrak E610fD via Fibre?

I have two Xserves and I'd like to connect them with a Promise VTrak E610fD. As this storage has two controllers, I'd like to connect both Xserve with both controllers. Is this setup possible? Can I access (read and write) the same disk array with both Xserves simultaneously (Xsan?) or do I have to create two separate arrays?

Hello bleistift, and welcome to the AppleBoards,
Fibre channel is SCSI which means that any device connected by fibre assumes it is in sole control of that device. When you attach more than one machine via fibre both machines assume they are in control and unexpected behaviors and data corruption ensues. SAN (like Apple's XSAN) provides a layer of arbitration over the shares allowing multiple fibre connections to play nicely with one another while still being connected over fibre.
You could easily connect two machines to a single RAID box if they are accessing different RAID volumes at the same time, but once you start connecting to the same data at the same time you need SAN.

  • How do I connect two apple compuiters

I would like to connect two apple computers together - how can I do it.

And take 4x longer if not worse? and WHY and what is this for?
Want to make one client and the other the server? Heck, how about old Fibre interconnect? can't go out and buy an XRAID box but that would.
Do you want to use XSAN?
Xsan is a powerful and scalable solution for storage consolidation. Now everyone in your organization can have fast, concurrent access to terabytes of centralized data. Built into OS X, Xsan allows any Mac with a Thunderbolt to Fibre Channel adapter to access an Xsan volume. OS X Server includes the Xsan Admin application for hosting and configuring Xsan volumes.
    http://www.apple.com/osx/server/features/
Xsan is Apple Inc.'s storage area network (SAN) or clustered file system for Mac OS X. Xsan enables multiple Mac desktop and Xserve systems to access shared block storage over a Fibre Channel network. With the Xsan file system installed, these computers can read and write to the same storage volume at the same time. Xsan is a complete SAN solution that includes the metadata controller software, the file system client software, and integrated setup, management and monitoring tools.
Xsan has all the normal features to be expected in an enterprise shared disk file system, including support for large files and file systems, multiple mounted file systems, meta data controller failover for fault tolerance, support for multiple operating systems, etc.
    Interoperability
Xsan is based on the StorNext File System.[2] The StorNext File System and the Xsan file system share the same file system layout and the same protocol when talking to the meta data server. They also seem to share a common code base or very close development based on the new features developed for both file systems.
The Xsan website claims complete interoperability[3] with the Quantum Corporation StorNext File System: "And because Xsan is completely interoperable with Quantum’s StorNext File System, you can even provide clients on Windows, Linux, and other UNIX platforms with direct Fibre Channel block-level access to the data in your Xsan-managed storage pool."[4]
Quantum Corporation claims "Complete interoperability with Apple’s Xsan and Promise RAID and Allows Xsan and Xserve RAID to support AIX, HP-UX, IRIX, Red Hat Linux, SuSE Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris, and Windows clients, including support for 64 Bit Windows and Windows Vista."[5]

    Hey there,
I know this post is very old but maybe it can help someone else at some stage.
This is my very first post on Mac Support so I hope it helps in some way
So I had a similar issue with my panasonic LCD HD TV.
I have an early 2007 MBP with a DVI output, not a HDMI. I use a DVI to HDMI cable to connect the two devices.
I understand that the DVI output from the MBP does not include audio, just video.. Is that also the case with HDMI I'm not 100%. To carry the audio I used the 3.5mm headphone jack to the older 'analog' red white yellow connections. I think it was red yellow or red white.. anyway, easy find what the video colour is.
I understand that you might not have used the 3.5mm jack, however, what I did to fix it might still help you.
Firstly, check your HDMI cable as I hear that some don't carry audio...
After that, check your TV settings on HDMI 1 and be sure it is set to 'digital input'.
I had to change my audio input to analog as I used the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Until I did that I had zero audio... Maybe your TV is on analog audio input by default.
"15" Macbook Pro, 2.33Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram, 750GB HDD" < (unsure why people add this info but here it is anyway).. I have a Macintosh product, I swear !

  • Connecting Two WRV200s Wirelessly?

Due to layout of the house and lack of wire access, need to connect two WRV200's wirelessly. One will be connected to my cable modem and the other will need to provide additional coverage but act as an access point to the net. Can someone tell me how I go about doing this?

Not at all. The WRV200 requires a wired internet connection. To extend wireless coverage you need a repeater. With second WRV200 you have to connect them with a cable to make some use of them. If it is not possible to get a cable connection inside the house consider going outside of the house. Maybe that works better...

  • Why does labview forget the connections to the virtual channels in MAX?

I create a bunch of virtual channels in MAX - some with double assignment to a single AI port.
Context - a digital output controls a MUX to switch the inputs into the AI ports of my USB-6361(BNC) DAQmx; thereby allowing me to double up on the number of AI ports I can access (switching every 5ms).
I can run the code without any troubles. I have now completed my hardware set up and and am now testing the integration with the code. This is where things become a little unstuck.
Problem: some ports, over time, start displaying erroneous data that is not correct. It is not until I delete the virtual channel and re-create it in MAX, does everything settle and work. This 'bad' data is seen in the MAX test panels tab and virtual channels tab.
What is going on - should I bite the bullet and program all port assignments (channels) within my code?
Am i mistakenly killing a link between MAX and the DAQmx?

natashw already told you that it's expected behaviour when you leave the analog input open. There are two aspects to this:
    1) The analog input amplifier is a high impedance operation amplifier. It's minimal stray capacitance is high enough that it gets charged through very small leakage currents in the amplifier input stage, but the high input impedance doesn't allow those capacitance to discharge quick enough to stay at a defined voltage. So your input is usually very slowly floating to one of the power supply rails depending what transistor side has a slightly higher leakage.
    2) You only have one analog to digital converter. To get multiple channels there is a multiplexer than connects the different input channels to this single ADC. When the multiplexer switches between from a connected signal to an unconnected signal those stray capacitance at the ADC amplifier input has been charged to a certain voltage from the connected channel. With only the internal impedance of the amplifier to discharge this capacitance after the multiplexer switched to an unconnected input, the ADC will simply see the voltage that the stray capacitance has been charged to.
Having a low impedance amplifier input would solve that problem but create many more problems that would affect the measurement accuracy significantly.

  • Help needed in connecting two midi keyboards to Logic Pro.

Hey there, I would like to connect two midi keyboards to Logic Pro and enable each keyboard to trigger separate software instruments each. For example, one keyboard has guitar and the other has strings.
I realise this must have something to do with midi channels or ports, however my knowledge is limited.
At current, I just have the two keyboards connected via usb straight to the computer. Is it possible I need a multi input or output interface, so that Logic can recognise different ports, or channels? Perhaps there is simply something I need to do in Logic itself? the keyboards are basic M-Audio midi controllers, just a usb port - thats it, no other connections. Any help would be great, Brad.

    Hey Brad,
yes you need also to change the out midi of the keyboards.
in my case I have the Keysation 61 es, it's done this way:
    "Channel
MIDI data from the keyboard can be sent on any of 16 MIDI Channels. However, certain MIDI devices and MIDI software applications require
the keyboard to send data on a specified channel. If this is the case, you can change the channel the data is sent using the following
    method:
< Press the Advanced Functions button to engage Edit Mode.
< Press one of the 16 Channel keys from D1 to E3, according to the Channel that you need.
For example, if a device specifies that you need to send data on Channel 10, press the Advanced Functions button, and then key F2 to select
    Channel 10.
The Channel can also be assigned to the Octave “+” and “-” buttons. Once assigned, pressing “+” or “-” will increase or decrease the channel
incrementally. When Channel 16 is reached and “+” is pressed, Channel 1 will be selected. If the Octave “+” and “-” keys are selected to vary
the Channel, the lights above the buttons will not change, since it is not possible to have a Channel with a negative value. Pressing both the
“+” and “-” buttons together will recall Channel 1."
Can you please tell me what keyboards do you have?
this is for two players having a go on completely 2 different parts.
In case you want to record 2 tracks with the same content say a piano and a pad,
all you need to do is open the tracks and rec enable both and you have piano pad.
Anyway I believe you need to have two separate sounds for two players?
Give us some more input of what you want, there must have one or more solutions to what you need.
    Cheers mate,
    Jorge

    Dear Friends
I have TWO simple questions and I hope you will help me to find answers
    Q1:
    I have 2 WAP4410 , in two floors in a building,
some computer clients connect to one of them.
other clients connect to other one.
I want to connect both of 4410N together without cable.
I read ,if I set one of them as REPEATER, it will not acceibble for clients to connect !
    I dont want it !
I need clients to be able  connect to each one , and both of them connects together normally.
please help me how to do that ? (the exact config please)
    Q2:
In another building , I want to put 6 of 4410N to 6 floors.
do u suggest to connect all of to a 8 port gigabit switch via cable ?
or connect all of them exactly as above question (wireless) ?
    which one is better ?
THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH FOR YOU HELP

    Hello MRR,
I am not quite sure your question (Q1). Why do you need to connect two AP together without cable? Usually we can provide end-users with ESS solution which can provide users roaming from one area to another if you have two or more APs. Anyway on the backend of AP generally connect to wire-network to give user scalability of network access.  It may also solve your Q2.
Repeater is only needed if your provided area is too far away from wire-network or out of reachable of wire-network and signal is too weak at that area.

  • Connecting two CRS-4 over 110Km lenght dark-fiber

I wonder if I want connect two CRS-4 over 110Km lenght and get 40G of througput whitout ONS 15454 MSTP DWDM infrastructure.
I am looking for lowering the cost for a two cities point-to-point carrier class connection with high throughput.
    TIA

    Thank you for the reply.
As long as I can understand for it, it is possible to interconnect two CRS-4 by mean a dark-fiber without a DWDM transport system, if the distance and fiber parameters limits are meeted.
In the 1-Port OC-768C/STM-256C Tunable WDMPOS datasheet I can read that the targeted distance is 1000km for DWDM Line Interface, and 80 or 100Km for Single-channel optical link (without DWDM).
This would mean that a DWDM platform is needed to get the 1000km length?
What about the throughput when it is connected in single-chanel mode?

  • Is there a way to connect two analog mics recording in stereo to the iPad for recording?

I currently use an M-Audio Mobile Pre to connect two microphones to my MacBook Pro via USB. If I wanted to use my iPad (or even iPhone) instead, is there a way to get the stereo input into the iPad? Would the Line 6 Sonic Port sold via Apple work? Would it take 2 separate inputs and deliver stereo to Garage Band or another recording app? Or is there another way?

Exactly that -- the procedure is described in the online Help: InDesign Help | Text variables
Now every time you insert the variable named "# of potatoes", you'll see the text "50" appear (with a minimal rectangular marker to indicate it's a variable), and when you want another number of potatoes, all you have to do is adjust the text in the Variables dialog.
