Connecting yamaha 01v to mac..how??

just wondering what is the best way to connect the yamaha 01v to a mac pro. ie. layout, soundcard?..audio interface??..i am new to this so please be lean on the lingo thanx

Yes, it's a stumper.
I may just cave and try a Yamaha UX-16 cable. Could be sending good money after bad if it doesn't work either, though.
The hosa cable I purchased at best buys I've noticed in online ads some sellers say it works with Mac and others say it doesn't. The hosa catalog itself says it works with OSX and CoreMIDI, but I've not been able to tell for sure if CoreMIDI is something I automatically have or if it's something I have to find and install from Apple site.

  • Connect home and office Macs - how?

I have a two Mac Airport network at the office and a Mac at home; all 10.4.6. I now have a static IP addresses at each location (same ISP). I'd like to be able to log into my computer at the office (I am admin on both at the office) from home, open documents, work on them, and then save them back to my office computer (I don't need to log into my assistant's computer from home). I know it's possible to do, but I don't know how and can't find anything giving me understandable, step-by-step instructions on how to "connect to server" or whatever one does to access an off site computer. I've been using Macs since 1984, but am by no means technicaally oriented. Firewalls and FTP Access and Remote Login and everything else in that part of Preferences scares me. I don't want to do something and lose my office wireless connection.
Can anyone offer a step-by-step, understandable cookbook method of how I might log in to the office from home?
    Thanks!

Summing up, the first steps to take are:
    1. (As) Detailed (as possible) description of your
    home/office networks. This means:
    a) Network flow: how many devices are on each network
    and how they're connected: i.e.
    DSLModem-->Router-->MacG5-->iMacG4-->Printer
Office - 2 devices -iMac and eMac G4 (10.4.6); Cable>Router>Dual Ethernet AirPort; Printer out of AirPort.
    Home - no network - Cable>Router>iBook G3>printer
    b) Broadband connection info: DSL/cable/satelite? You
already stated that you have Static IPs (that's good,
everything will be easier + more reliable)
    Cable
    c) TCP/IP settings for your Macs (connection type:
DHCP/manually etc). You can also take screenshots of
the TCP/IP settings and post 'em here as this is
better for us to spot any wrong settings. To find the
TCP/IP settings for each Mac: System
    Preferences-->Network-->AirPort/Ethernet-->TCP/IP
Office - Configure Using DHCP; IP Address and Subnet Mask and Router are all established (my ISP who is a Mac freak set this up for me); I believe the office and home are the same except at home the connection is by ethernet and not an AirPort
    d) Familiarize yourself with your routers (or
modem/router combo), how to log-in to your router's
configuration pages (consult the router's manual).
Also, post info on make/model of your router(s)
This was all set up by my ISP and cable company; I have no manuals; any modem trouble, they come fix. The modems are Scientific-Atlanta "Webstar"
    2. Description of the kind of work you want to do via
    your home/office network.
Mostly word processing - I am a professional. I like to work at home nights and wekends and end up burning and toting CD-RW's, then sometimes after I get home and realize I need to look at another folder, or a document from another client file that might have research on it that would be useful to the project I'm working on, I either have to set everything down or drive back to the office and burn another disc. If I could remotely log into "Joe Smith's" client file on my office computer from home, and look at a document similar to what I'm doing for "Sally Jones" at home, the time savings would be tremendous.
You can also take a look @
Apple's Remote Desktop solution. It's not free, but
provides a solution for joining networks like yours
and a nice interface to go through most of the
settings. Check the specs and see for yourself.

I have forgotten my Password to be able to connect between my desktop Mac and Mac Book on my home network. How can I recover the password or change it?

The password used to log in to a user account remotely is the same as you would use to log into it locally. You can also use your Apple ID, so try that.
To change your login password read OS X Mavericks: Reset a login password

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud.  The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

  • How should I connect yamaha HS50m to macbook pro

how should I connect yamaha HS50m to macbook pro? Does macbook pro with i7 processored have an enough sound card for yamaha studio monitors?or will I need an external sound card or mixer?

Some mikes have sufficient output to connect to this port, Alexey, but most don't. the solution, if you really want to use this particular mic, is to obtain a small battery or mains powered pre-amplifier to connect between the microphone and the line -in input. Alternatively there are devices which will allow you to connect your existing mic through the USB port. If you have an amplifier with a mic input already you could also use this as an intermediary, though it won't be very portable, of course!
You may find it cheaper to simply buy either a USB or "line level" mic, though.

Question: I cannot start my iPhone 4. It just "died". I connected it ti my Mac, but tha Mac doesn´t recognise it. Any ideas how to wake the phone. The battery is fine, I just cannot get it working!

    See Here for
    Frozen or unresponsive iPhone
Try this first... You will not lose any Data...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

If that does not work... try letting the battery fully drain.
Then Charge for an Hour and try the suggestions again.

some times my internet connection will say it has timed out and I can not connect. but my friends mac never has a problem. How can I fix this?

Just confirming, when you have the trouble, the wifi icon is grayed-out or has all bars showing? I believe you are saying that is is grayed-out - not connected to your wireless router.
I have a Mini that started to lose connection to the Internet after the 10.7.3 update but still showed the wireless as connected. If I pinged the wireless router, I would get a quarter of the packets failing to return. The router was a Netgear that supported 802.11N connections. As a test, I set it to 802.11G (54MBps) maximum and the Mini worked fine for a week - no dropouts. And for the other devices that did support 802.11N, while there was a noticeable delay with downloads and pages loading, they still worked.
As another test, I changed the Netgear router to a Billion 802.11N model and the Mini has not had a problems since. (It is still using 802.11g). So it could be your router that is causing trouble for your Mac.
Have a look at some of the More Like This postings in the right column. There has been a number of Mac owners experiencing wifi connection issues and some very good suggestions as to how to resolve their issue.

Is it possible to have Time Machine backUp computer HD AND external HD connected to Airport Extreme.
    Sorry, but no.
Time Machine will backup your Mac, but not the hard drive attached to the AirPort Extreme.
Time Machine will back up a hard drive only if it is attached directly to your Mac via USB or FireWire.

  • Connecting to an Intel Mac remotely

I was wondering if it is possible to use my old Mac iBook running 10.4.11 to connect to an Intel Mac running Snow Leopard remotel?   I would like to be able to control the iBook similar to how I can control my iBook remotely with my Intel Mac using Screen Sharing?  I used to be able to use my old B&W G3 Mac to control my work PC so I know it might be possible.  I just can't remember the software I used. Any ideas or suggestions?  Thanks!
