Connecting Z10 with BlackBerry Link on PC

Hello fellow BB users!
I am having troubles with Z10 to BB Link connection. The problem lies in Windows Firewall. Because we are using our devices in enterprise environment the firewall cannot be disabled. Can anyone tell me how to configure Windows Firewall? What IPs/ports need to be open?

From all I know, it is not possible to extract specific files from Link to your PC.

Can't "reload" a Z10 with blackberry link

Hello,
I've done this many times but since october I still have the following error.
So I have a Z10 that I need to reload with blackberry link. I need the firmware to be reinstalled and most data wiped out.
I've done this many time on Z10, Q5 or Q10, it wiped the phone and updated it in the same time.
But now I still get that error.
Fist when I use "reload" it ask this.
it's normal
then when I click "get update" I got this
less normal
when I click "install" I get that error.
So now I can't use the "reload" feature and it's not devide dependant.
I tried and 3 different computer and 4 other blackberry.

I finally found a solution : autoloader!
Even if you have to be carefull about the file you launch, it's exactly what I wanted, an update with a wipe.

Blackberry z30 - not showing the mobile when connected with blackberry link

sir ,
first when i bought the mobile z30 - my mobile was is good conditon ... suddenly today (15-1-2015) i couldnt type in my device password, mobile got struck ,then i connected my mobile with balckberry link and made a reset ... now the mobile is not upto themak....i dont feel it works as before. ...now am connecting it with blackberry link with mobile the link detects my media card in mobile and gets connected with i tbut it doesnt get connected to the mobile device...
please provide me solution.. so that i could get my mobile to old gud condition

Sorry to respond that your post is vague.
Did you do a reset to factory? It takes a day or a few days for a BB10 device to finish sync'ing and indexing and so forth after a wipe or an OS reinstall or upgrade. If performance is subpar, give it another day to see if it improves.
On the last, I may not understand. I believe you are saying you are connecting to the device with Link and the computer mounts the microSD card as a drive but not the device's onboard memory. Do you have mass storage mode enabled? If so, disable mass storage mode and try again.

Restoring with Blackberry Link

Help please,
Moved to Blackberry Classic. I have groups setup in my contacts to do group text messages. When I back with Blackberry Link and then restore the Classic from the desktop the groups are removed.
Had a Bold 9900 with Balckberry desktop before and there was no problem with the groups staying in tack on a restore.
What I am I missing?

Z10 Problems with Blackberry Link

Hi,
I have had my Z10 for more than a year now and I've never needed to transfer files from it to my computer until now. So, I plugged in the USB and downloaded Blackberry Link and it downloaded quick and easily. When I open Blackberry Link, it says Blackberry Z10 and then 'connected' underneath. But when I go to videos, music, files etc. under my device name, it says "There are no pictures/videos/files in your library". What do I do? Ive looke at so many troubleshooting pages and everything but nothing helped. So any help would be appreciated.

On your computer open My Computer and see if you have a Y:\\ and Z:\\ drive labeled "BlackBerry."
All your files will be in there and you can drag/drop them wherever you need them on your PC.

Z30 issues with Blackberry Link

I recently upgraded from a Z10 to a Z30.
Issue #1
When I transferred all info from the Z10 to the Z30 using Blackberry Link it changed the name of the new Z30 from the name that it came with to a name of my Z10. Is this normal? Can I change it back to the name it had originally without confusing Blackberry Link? Does it even matter?
Issue #2
When I connected my Z10 to my computer and opened Blackberry Link there was a dropdown menu along the botton of the frame and one of the choices was "back up". Now with the Z30 that dropdown menu menu box is not there but along the left side that says that my Z30 is connected and one of the menu choices is "backup and restore". Is this the same thing?
I hope that I have made my concerns clear enough,

Z30 won't link with blackberry link

I have reinstalled blackberry link several time now, each time it will link up the Z30, but a few days later my Z30 will connect to the computor but Blackberry link doesn't connect. This is not the only issue but I can't fix any of the others if Link won't be consistant in hooking up each and every time. any suggestions

Same problem here...has been for a week.
Been on the phone with Blackberry 3 times....
I have tried everything, literally everything....
it shouldn't be that difficult....

Help with Blackberry Link

Hello - I just upgraded to the Q10 from the Bold 9000, and I am having problems getting the BlackBerry Link to work properly. I successfully downloaded the application (Version 1.1.1 build 13) to my MacBook, but it does not recognize my Q10 when I use the USB cable to plug into the Mac - the tab for it never appears at the bottom of the screen. It only shows up if I select "Show Disconnected Devices". It advises me to reset the Q10 to the factory settings, but I will lose all of the vacation photos and other data that I have added to the device since I bought it.
So, in a nutshell, I can't back up my data because the BlackBerry Link won't work properly, and if I reset the phone I lose it all. BlackBerry Protect no longer backs up my data for me. I could e-mail all of my photos to myself, but that seems to be a tedious last resort. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your device connecting to BlackBerry Link.
Disconnect your device from your Mac and restart your Mac.
On your device, go to Settings>Storage and Access and ensure Access to Storage shows USB Connection as Connect to Mac. Keep scrolling to the bottom and ensure USB Mass Storage is Off.
Launch BlackBerry Link then connect your device. Does it now detect in Link? Does the lightening bolt appear to indicate your device is charging?

Can't Reload (restore) my Q10 with Blackberry Link !!!

Yesterday, I tried to use the security wipe feature to clean my device but it took too much time and then I pulled out the battery. Then, the device showed a message on the screen to connect it to the Pc.
I used these steps below to reload my device
1.connect my device to the PC
2.run the blackberry link software
3.go to the settings and reload
4.the blackberry link found my Q10 and asked me to restore it to its factory settings
5.a message shows"checking for blackberry device software update.." and the LED on the device turned green
6.last message shows"There are no Blackberry device software update available" with close option only!!
7.when I press on the close it goes back again and show the message which means I need to connect it to the PC
So is that means I can't retort my device if it is up to date !!

Problem synching Z30 with Blackberry Link

Hi there,
I'm having problems synching my Z30 calendar and contacts with my Blackberry Link. I'm getting the following error message:
"Sync was unsuccessful
CPreferencesManager: Configuration Value for /Preferences/Account_1_65538/SyncAccountld_2not set in Transconfig.xml for translator Rimbb"

AirPort Extreme Card Connectivity Problem with D-Link DI-524

Have the DI-524 connected to my cable modem and to my old 9600 via ethernet. The 524 connects wirelessly with my son's Dell laptop wthout difficulty. Have no encryption enabled. Have a new G5 with AE Card, which shows that I'm getting a wireless signal (all bars lit), but cannot get Safari to work. Get a "Computer to Computer" network status message. Keep getting a "This computer is not connected to the internet." message from Safari, and no amount of configuring works. The Network Set-Up Assistant keeps asking for a DHCP client ID, which I do not use with the TCP/IP setup, so I can never get through the set-up on the G5. I must say this is really ticking me off. Got no help from D-Link, except to check that the 524 seems to be working properly. the cable company was of equally no use. Hopefully, one of you Mac faithful can help me out. It's a **** shame a free-after-rebate D-Link can get up and running with the Dell, and a $100 AE Card is making me crazy.

I cannot offer any suggestions, but we've got the same problem.
My DL-524 does not play nice with my wife's 12" PowerBook using wireless, but my 15" PowerBook works fine over wireless. I normally enable WEP and MAC address filtering on the DL-524, but I disabled everything and still no dice. The PowerBook responds the same each time:
"There was an error joining the AirPort network"
I looked in the console logs (on the PowerBook) and see multiple occurrences of this:
WirelessJoin unexpected status: 8
The thing is, I generally know what I'm doing with my home network. I have 4 computers at home that work fine both wired and wireless, and like I said, my 15" PowerBook works fine wirelessly with the DL-524. But the 12" PowerBook will not communicate wirelessly.

Q10 task synchronisation with Blackberry Link

I wonder when Blackberry Link will enable such a basic feature like synchronising tasks and memos via USB... Even my five years old Nokia C7 was able to do that, even whireless... Is there anabody from Blackberry here? You even can't get in touch with this company...

Connect problem with db link and scheduler_jobs on 10.2.0.4.0

i have got this problem, i hope someone can help me to understand and solve it.
I have a pl/sql procedure where is referenced a table on a db_link. I own all the grants needed, and if i recall it in an anonymous block, it seems to work.
i.e
create or replace procedure routine_1 is
v_app varchar2(1);
begin
select 'x'
into v_app
from other_user.some_table@my_db_link
where rownum<2;
end routine_1;
Instead, while recalling it from a job scheduled with dba_scheduler package, with the same user, while opening the cursor where the db link table is referenced, i got a connect error:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
ORA-02063: preceding line from xxxxxx (where xxxxxx is the db link)
i would like to understand where i am mistaking. I already checked the user for the connection in the scheduled job and is the same of the anonymous block call.

i have not access to metalink. Anyway, oracle version is 10g not 11.
Anyway, about dbms_job package (Scheduler is the newer version of dbms_job), i found a phrase on a site saying this:
"Jobs that reference database links will fail if the database link is not fully qualified with the username and password. This is another subtle consequence of the execution environment of jobs."
Probably the cause is that the db link, to work, must be owned by the same user that owns the procedure where is referenced. In this way we hope ownername and password are in some way accessible.
We are trying to check this solution, but we have to wait for some grants.

Can't connect Z10 to BB Link using Wi-Fi

I'm using Windows 7 and can see my Z10 in Link while I have the USB cable plugged in. As soon as I unplug the USB my Z10 shows as being disconnected. The Z10 shows that I'm on the home Wi-Fi network and the computer is connected to the network. When I open file manager on my Z10 I can see the home computer but keep getting a message that says make sure the computer is turned on and connected to the internet. I'm writing this message and posting it on the computer that supposedly isn't either on or on the internet.

I would try to update the wifi routers firmware and
try to see if removing encryption helped (the WEB encryption which is 100% rubbish anyway seem to give a lot of people problems)
and if it was set not to broadcast ssid i would try to make it broadcast it again
and if my setup was using MAC address filtering then I would remove that or add the iphones MAC address to the allowed list

Connection problems with D-LINK 300t (NOT using AE)

Hi all,
I bought the D-LINK 300t modem from apple and am having problems connecting it.
I follow through the onscreen gui set up procedure, and that's all fine - the status tells me I'm connected, no problems. Network Connections and Network Diagnostics also tells me that I'm connected to the internet and that seemingly there are no problems.
However, I cannot access any web pages at all. It just times out with Safari giving me the message that I'm not connected to the internet.
I tried connecting the modem to my old G4 iMac and that didn't work either.
I'm not using AE or any other wireless product, just connecting ADSL in and ethernet out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Still not having any joy with this ... I've bought a new modem/router and that is giving me the same problems. My Network Diagnostics is saying that I'm connected to the internet, but I can't open any web pages.
The modem is saying that I'm connected.
I just don't know what is wrong, or what to do next. The 'assist' button is not helping, nor is 'Network Diagnostics'. I feel like I'm missing something obvious but I just can't see it.
If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it!
