Connection 8.5 Bulk Edit Enable Unified Messaging (Single Inbox)

Running Unity Connection 8.5(1)SU1
I setup 1 user for Single Inbox (http to Exchange 2003 via WebDav) he's working great.
Now I want to enable Single Inbox for the remaining 345 subscribers. They are already LDAP integrated. We just moved from Unity Unified 7.0 (with Exchange 2003) to Unity Connection 8.5
How do I use Bulk Edit to enable the remaining subscriber for Unified Messaging/Single Inbox?
Jeff - would be great if COBRAS going from Unity Unfiied Messaging to Unity Connection Unified Messaging would automatically configure everything since it already knows the Exchange alias, etc.
I attached a sample Bulk Edit > Unified Messaging update that failed
"Failure Reason",subscriberalias,servicedisplayname,optionalserviceaccountid,umemailaddress,emailaddressusecorp,enablecalendar,enablemeeting,enablembxsynch,isprimarymeetingservice,logintype,userid,userprofilenumber
"Could not find a unified messaging accounts with columns: subscriberalias = torwh3, servicedisplayname = HAC-Exchange and optionalServiceAccountID: |",torwh3,HAC-Exchange,,[email protected],0,1,0,1,0,2,LAhrens,

Figured it out.I hope this helps.

  • Unity Connection 8.5.1ES16.11900-16 upgrade for Single Inbox with Exchange 2007 ?

    Hello friends,
I'm currentely running Unity Connection 8.5.1ES16.11900-16.
I would like to use the single inbox feature with Exchange 2007.
It is in the documentation that we need at least Unity Connection 8.5(1) Service Update 1 (UCSInstall_UCOS_8.5.1.11900-21.sgn.iso).
I downloaded, checked MD5 but when searching on the FTP directory it won't accept it (No valid upgrade options were found). Is this a supported upgrade?
Same happens with the localization file in Portuguese that i need to install: uc-locale-pt_PT-8.5.1.1-16.cop.sng ...
Please can you give me some hints about what I may be doing wrong?
Thank you very much and warm regards,
    met

    Hi Met,
    Hope all is well
I think you are hitting this caveat. Although the numbers don't match exactly I'm
pretty sure you will need to wait for an 8.5.1.12xxx.x ES
If the Connection server is running an engineering special with a full Cisco Unified Communications
Operating System version number between 8.5.1.11001-x and 8.5.1.11899-x, do not upgrade the server
to Connection 8.5(1) SU 1 because the upgrade will fail. Instead, upgrade the server with an ES released
after 8.5(1) SU 1 that has a full Unified Communications OS version number of 8.5.1.12xxx.x or later
to get the SU 1 functionality.

  • Unified Messaging Exchange 2010 with Jabber

Is anyone aware of a way to have Jabber integrate with Exchange 2010 for voice-mail?
I have CUCM trunked to the server, the calls are going to the server and you can leave a voice mail and phone MWI lights up.
I have the voice-mail icon on the jabber client and when I press it, it goes to the voice mail box.
The issue is that it says its not connected, and when people leave a voice-mail, Jabber does not indicate you have a message.
    We are running CUCM 9.1, CUPS 9.1, Jabber4W 9.7
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Phil

Jabber for windows 9.7; only supports VMREST voicemail access. The only option for this is unity connection 8.5 and above. Connection to Exchange 2010 form of unified messaging (voicemail service through exchange server alone) is not supported.

  • Unity Connection 8.5(x), single inbox, and smartphones

If the customer sets up the following environment:
Unity Connection 8.5(x) WITH SECURE MESSAGING
    Single Inbox with Exchange 2010
    Customer has smartphones (blackberry, etc).
We're trying to figure out if this is set up, will the smart phones be able to play the voicemail message or not?  Based on what I see, I'm thinking they may not, but would love to hear from someone with eyes and ears back in the BU.
    Cliff

They would not be able to play the message. From the Unified Messaging Guide:
To play secure Connection voice messages in the Exchange mailbox, users must use Microsoft Outlook and Cisco Unity Connection ViewMail for Microsoft Outlook. Without ViewMail for Outlook installed, users accessing secure voice messages see only text in the body of a decoy message; the text briefly explains secure messages.
In other words, the Blackberry phones don't have ViewMail and can only see the decoy message.

  • Cisco Unity Connection 8.5 Single Inbox - Unified Messaging?

For the Cisco Unity Connection 8.5, to enable Single inbox unified messaging do we need to get additional licensing for this feature?

    Hi Ali,
    LicIMAPSubscribersMax
Users with IMAP access to voice messages or with single inbox (single inbox available in Connection 8.5 and later only)
Sets the maximum number of users who can use:
•A third-party IMAP client to access voice messages.
•The  unified messaging feature "Synchronize Connection and Exchange  Mailboxes (Single Inbox)" on the Unified Messaging > Unified  Messaging Services page and on the Users > Users > Unified  Messaging Accounts page.
For single inbox, the total number of users in classes of service for  which single inbox is enabled must not exceed the licensed maximum. This  applies regardless of the number of users in those classes of service  who are configured to use single inbox. In addition, all users who are  configured for single inbox must be in a class of service for which  single inbox is enabled.

  • Unity Connection 8.5.1 Unified Messaging w/ Exchange

    Hi,
I'm just checking out the new Unified Messaging features of Unity Connection 8.5.1 and notice that you can specify multiple Unified Messaging Services pointing at different Exchange deployments (and then when setting up Unified Messaging Accounts select which UMS applies).
My question is, is there any limit as to how many Unified Messaging Services (e.g. how many different Exchange organisations) you can point a single Unity Connection server at?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi Dan,
Taken from the UC Design Guide:
"There is no hard limit on the number of unified messaging services that you can create, but maintenance becomes time-consuming when you create more than a couple of dozen."

  • Unity Connection 8.5 Unified Messaging MWI

    Hi Guys,
I just configured Unity Connection 8.5 Single Inbox with Exchange 2007. Everything is working fine, except the MWI goes off as soon as the Exchange gets the message. Is this the expected behaviour?
I need that the MWI stays ON until the user reads the message in Outlook. Is that possible?
    Thanks!

Not sure if it applies here but, if you aren't moving it to another folder in your Outlook, try looking at this....

  • Unity Connection 9.1 Unified Messaging Certificate Support

    Hi,
I am trying to find out whether Unity Connection 9.1 can use wildcard or Subject Alternate Name (SAN) certificates for Exchange servers it connects to for Unified Messaging.
This is not covered in the UM config guide
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/9x/unified_messaging/guide/9xcucumg020.html#wp1198072
If it makes any difference the client I am working with uses Exchange 2003.
    Thanks

Do you have the AD management account credentials? Have you discussed connection methods with the exchange administrator?

  • Unable to save Unified Messaging PIN: Access to Active Directory Failed

I'm trying to enable all of our users for Unified Messaging and I've created a powershell script for each of users I want to enable but I am getting an error message everytime I try and run it.
Unable to save Unified Messaging PIN for mailbox 'smtp address': Access to Active Directory Failed
Our setup is forest root domain and 2 child domains.  Most of the users are in the child domains and the Exchange server is in the forest root domain.
I'm using -domaincontroller but this doesn't make a difference.  Here is the script I am using:
Enable-UMMailbox -Identity [email protected] -UMMailboxPolicy "DefaultUM Default Policy" -Extensions 303 -PIN 1234 -SIPResourceIdentifier "[email protected]" -PINExpired $false -domaincontroller "rc-curdc-01.curriculum.riddlesdown.local"
Can someone point out why this isn't working?

I had the same experience as Gueetar. Couldn't enable a UM mailbox, or change the PIN. Got a generic "Access to Active Directory Failed" message instead of anything useful. Even went so far as enabled a ton of diagnostic logging, which didn't report anything
    useful.
Of course, all the accounts I was enabling had the HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled property set to $true (these were old deactivated accounts I was using to test with). I found that setting it back to $false corrected the issue.
Of course I didn't know it was that exact problem at the time. I only found a difference after disabling/re-connecting mailboxes (and of course newly created mailboxes exhibited no issues). Assuming this was going to be the case for all mailboxes this would
be fine for testing and proof of concept, bad for production/implementation. Instead I ran a bunch of scenarios over two days, culminating in a crap load of LDIFDEs and DSACL dumps to enumerate the object properties and compare the values that were different.
This property (HideFromALEnabled) and a few others stood out. Luckily it wasn't ACL-related - that would've been a complete head wreck!
Dear Microsoft: More descriptive errors next time, please :)

  • Bulk editing Emails

    Hi All,
I'm, like a few other people, trying to bulk Edit emails. I'm postive that when I first got my Iphone 4 I could bulk delete, but then changed in an update, I thought they'd work out by now that there are lots of people needing to do this. My question is who and how do we contact Apple to ask if the can do this as I thought it would be simple.
    Cheers
    Karla

I updated my original post. I was already aware of the setting for email trash.
    RE: IMAP.
I also have Yahoo and GMail. If I delete the emails there, will it delete on the iphone, next time I connect? Nevermind... I'll just check and see.
    Thanks,
    UPDATE
    RE: IMAP
Works like a champ. thanks. I opened my GMail, went to GMail on my PC, deleted some emails, refreshed my iphone GMail account and poof! They disappeared right before my eyes. Thanks

  • Unified Messaging not working after upgrade to 9.1.2su2

We Moved Unity Connection v8.6 to UCS as a VM,  tested and everything was working as expected.  we then upgraded to 9.1.2. After the upgrade to 9.2 Unified Messaging is no longer working. Has anyone run into this?

    Hi Kevin,
What does your Unified Message Services look like? What type of integration are you working with? Are you able to go to a previously working account and test that account in the Unified Messaging Account Status to see if there are any errors?
    Hope this helps

I just installed Airport Extreme. It works as a wireless network on my Macbook. It won't connect with my Windows Visa PC. Message reads: "settings saved on this computer for the network don't match requirements of the network." I seem to need to enter a security key/passphrase to connect to the PC. Where do I find them?
    Thanks for your help.

I assume that you have Wireless Security enabled on your AirPort's wireless network. The issue maybe that the PC is unable to use the WPA password itself and will require using the Equivalent Network Password instead.
To get this password, you will use the AirPort Utility from the MacBook:
Start the AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort base station > Manual Setup
Now, before doing anything else, go up to the utility's menu bar at the top of the screen, and then, choose "Base Station," and then, Equivalent Network Password from the drop-down menu. You will see two items: 1) WPA Password, which should look familiar to you, and 2) WPA Pre-Shared Key. It should be a long hexidecimal set of numbers and letters. Jot down this second item.
You will want to use the value you just jotted down when entering the password from the Windows Visa PC.
