Error in firmware cFP 2020 & connection time out error in MAX
Hi!
My cFP 202O status LED is flashing twice - which indicates that there is an error in the firmware (according to the user manual). I've already installed the latest firmware downloaded from the NI website and it says that I'm suppose to update the OS from remote system in MAX. When trying to update the BIOS system, this comes up.
Version on the remote target : 10.1
Available version on the host : 10.4
I'm a little confused as to which is the remote target and which is the hosting system? It also says that the previously installed software will be removed if update is continued and that it might damage the hardware if manually booted or turned off so I'm a little skeptical to proceed.
I'm alsoreceiving error messages in MAX. Errors in MAX are 'Connected - No software installed' and connection to a remote device timed out. I'm wondering if this error occurs because of the firmware problem or is it because of the timeout settings? Which is better? A higher or lower timeout time?
I'm new with this. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!
Solved!
Go to Solution. The target is your compact Fieldpoint. The host is your PC that you are on. Since the PC has a newer version, you will want to have that software downloaded to the cFP by way of MAX. Of course there is a slight chance you could lose power to the cFP if your luck is bad and the power goes out in the middle of the upgrade. It would be best to have your power supply for the cFP running off a battery backup UPS for security.
I'm guessing the error is due to your firmware problem.
If you are really uncertain on how to proceed, it may be best if you contact NI directly and they could help walk you through the update process. -

Connection to partner broken error message
Hi everyone,
We have an issue with uploading of large files on NetWeaver 7.1 SP3 (it works fine for small files). After some time of upload running, the following exception is thrown:
Caused by: org.jvnet.mimepull.MIMEParsingException: com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.FCAException: Cannot get InBuffer: -7 connection to partner broken.
at org.jvnet.mimepull.MIMEParser.fillBuf(MIMEParser.java:416)

Is it possible to tune the http service like in NW 6.4 version?
Thanks,
RaduHi Shaji,
we have two possibilities to upload large files:
1. Using MTOM Web Services. Here we provided our own Web Services implementation layer based on JAX-WS 2.1.3 reference implementation. For larger files we got the connection broken exception, with the following NW related stack trace:
Caused by: com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.FCAException: Cannot get InBuffer: -7 connection to partner broken.
at com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.impl1.FCAConnection.nativeRead(Native Method)
at com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.impl1.FCAConnection.read(FCAConnection.java:272)
at com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.impl1.FCAInputStream.read(FCAInputStream.java:102)

at com.sap.engine.services.httpserver.server.io.ChunkedInputStream.read(ChunkedInputStream.java:57)
at org.jvnet.mimepull.MIMEParser.fillBuf(MIMEParser.java:414)
2. Using the HttpServletRequest input stream. In this case, the NW related stack trace is:
Caused by: com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.FCAException: Cannot get InBuffer: -7 connection to partner broken.
at com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.impl1.FCAConnection.nativeRead(Native Method)
at com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.impl1.FCAConnection.read(FCAConnection.java:272)
at com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.impl1.FCAInputStream.read(FCAInputStream.java:102)
at com.sap.bc.proj.jstartup.fca.impl1.FCAInputStream.read(FCAInputStream.java:67)
at com.sap.engine.services.httpserver.server.io.HttpInputStreamImpl.read(HttpInputStreamImpl.java:167)
at com.opentext.ecm.services.streaming.impl.Streaming.read(Streaming.java:313)
Again, it works well for small files.
Thanks in advance,

Connection timeout error in web report(portal)
Hi Experts,
Points to note about the 500 connection timeout error
1. Error persists only in portal. query/ report works fine in RSRT and Bex Analyser.
2.As per previous discussions tried implementing SAP notes to change ICM parameter for max of 10 minutes.
However, it is said by Basis team that they can change parameter only if all the report gives the same error.
Since all the report works fine they are nt ready to change the parameter.
4. Error: Time exceeds 600seconds
5.This issue arised only after upgrading the system to 7.3. post - upgrade. this report was working fine before.
6. Even in the portal, report works fine when we use ABAP web link.
Please share your suggestions. In the trace file there is a error message for this report "Could not find a command, masscommand or group command with alias <new task>. It is defined in group . <TaskCollectionGroup>. pls any one help me. This is for 7.31 NW portal

Ace - connection reset (Error 101)
Hi, I have a problem with a Cisco ACE, after approximately an hour being in production, for all new connections
it gives the message: connection reset. The message on any web browser is: connection reset (Error 101)
It blocks any backend server (Apache).I get same error also when I try to connect direcly to the backend address.
This error saturates the connections on the servers (in the log of the DB I found error connection reset)
Without ACE all work fine, it's not a load traffic issue.
It seems like once opened a connection the ace does not close it anymore!
But the graphical snmp servers do not report the increase in connections, what is mistake ?
The balancer manages two physical servers and is configured in stickyness mode

-4 connection broken message when selecting complete backup in DBM GUI
I am not able to backup my SDB anymore!! When I click on the Complete backup option, there is a -4 connection broken message and then a -4 wrong connection type. When I try to create a new backup media, the modified date is 12:00AM no matter when I create it. If I try to execute the backup, I receive error -24985 medium not found. I have tried clearing the entries in the SDB.knl and SDB.mdf files, but that has not resolved the issue.
Hello Doug,
-> If you are the SAP customer, I recommend you to create the OSS ticket.
=> we could logon to the system via OSS and take a look closer on this issue.
-> Please provide more information to get clear on the reported issue.
Please don't correct manually the entries in the SDB.knl and SDB.mdf files !!
Please update with output of the following commands:
dbmcli inst_enum
dbmcli db_enum
xinstinfo SDB
dbmcli -d SDB -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> medium_getall
dbmcli -d SDB -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> medium_delete <medium-name>
What errors did you see in the dbmsrv-<servername>.prt located in the /sapdb/data/wrk by default installation?
Please post the commands executed/errors entries in the dbm.prt, located in database RUNDIRECTORY.
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina -

how could I troubleshoot this problem? i really don't know what is going on.Let's start with -- what email client are you using?
Based on the error message I would guess this is Outlook running the Sun Outlook Connector.
What versions of Messaging Server (./imsimta version) and Outlook Connector are you running?
What was different about this particular message -- was it a large email, was the email sent from home (slow internet link etc.), was it to a particular problem user?
Can they reproduce this error?
Did you have MTA problems at the time, can you see the matching connection attempt in your mail.log_current?
Outlook Connector has a default 60 second timeout when attempting to delivery an email. If this timeout is exceeded the connection will be dropped and the customer will see this message. The following registry setting controls the timeout:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sun Microsystems\Outlook Connector\Connection Time Out"

Connection Broken Message on SAPConsole
HI all,
I had already posted this message in RFID forums, but i did not get any response. So i am reposting it here ...
I have developed an RFID program to create Transfer Orders for Material documents, It works fine from SAP Gui, but when executed from RF Device or SAPConsole it errors out at the final step saying "Connection Broken", but suprisingly the actual document is created in SAP.
I was wondering if this message "Connection Broken" is a part of an exception from the program or is it displayed by SAPconsole?.
Please Advice,
Regards,
Venkat.Sorry to res such an old thread.
Hi all, I've a problem very close to this one and hoped for some help.
We're calling a batch input of VL02 from sapconsole and, as Rich has said, the final success message is being displayed. Being that VL02 is a SAP standard transaction we can't just go commenting out bits of code.
Is there any way to suppress messages coming from SAP transactions so that they don't interfere with the console display? Neither the SDN nor Google searches that I did returned anything to help...
We don't lose the connection or anything, we just don't want the message displayed is all.
Thanks for your time,
Patrick. -

Problem: Failed to open the connection. Error Code 0x800002F4 (-2147482892)
This is on two (2) separate machines. These are NEW INSTALLATION development work stations (laptops). One is Vista (Visual Studio 2008 / Crystal Reports 2008), and the other is Windows XP Pro (Visual Studio 2003 / Crystal Reports XI R1).
I am using EXISTING CODE (established over several years), and EXISTING REPORTS (established over several years). Old development station was XP Pro, as above, and still exists, and still works fine.
I can open the report in Crystal, and see the results just fine. Data for the report is obtained via ODBC.
Can someone identity the actual error by the Error Code above, and advise. Thanks You in Advance.Ok, so let's start at step 1:
SP 1 just released and I'd recommend applying that. The SO is available from here:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100010503722008E/cr2008_sp1.exe
For future reference, msm matching the above SP is here:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100011715292008E/cr121_mm.zip
and msi is here:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100011722132008E/cr121_redist_install.zip
Step 2: a few questions:
a) I am not sure what CR SDK you are using; RDC, .NET? I suspect that you are using the CR assemblies for .NET, but do confirm.
b) what is the database you are connecting to?
c) is this a web or a win app?
Step 3: As the error can mean any number of things (to me it's just means something went wrong during the attempt to connect to the database...), the solution may vary, however the troubleshooting steps remain quite consistent:
1) Do make sure the report is indeed working in the CR 2008 designer (e.g.; make sure "saved data" is not enabled.
2) Try a simple new windows app with one of your reports. See if you have a report with no subreports and use it
3) If that works, use a report with subreports
4) If the above does not work in (1) above, create a new report to the same ODBC connection, do not code any database connection - let the report prompt for the logon parameter (PWD)
5) Run the new report in your new app, enter the PWD when prompted
6) If this works, add your database logon code
7) If that works, add your original report (again, preferably with no subreports)
8) If that fails, ensure that the subreport and main report use the same database connection type (ODBC)
9) If it works, see if you can determine the difference between your old app and the new app.
