Connection Cables for Laptop to Display

I have an HP EliteBook 840 laptop and an HP ZR2440w 24" monitor.  The cable that came with the monitor does not work with this new laptop.  My IT dept at work informed me I need a DVI-M to VGA-M cable, which I have been unable to locate.  I've seen various adaptors, but none of them seem to be the right type.  I've also tried a cable that was USB (to laptop) and the end that goes to the monitor is a small square (female) for which I don't know the name, but it doesn't work.
If anyone knows what/where I can find cables that will work, I would be very grateful!
Thanks!

Does anybody knows where can i buy a replacement AC power cable for my cinema display 27"?

It may not be the same molded plug but I would think any normal 3-prong computer power cable should work.
    How about this one?

I've always had the theory that if you put two computer power cords in a drawer they will breed and you'll end up with a lot more!   My parts drawer is always full of them.  They like to knot up by themselves as well!  Maybe that's how they breed.

  • Connectivity cable for 2700 Classic

Is it possible at all to obtain a connectivity cable for Nokia 2700 classic.  The website doesn't list it and stores don't seem to have it!  Merry Christmas and a great New Year!

I suspect it is the CA-101 but can't confirm this. You can also connect your phone to pc using bluetooth.

  • Connecting cables For MacBook  to a VGA

What connecting cables can I buy to connect my MacBook with a (I guess) standard size DVI to a VGA standard? All I can find are Mini-DVI (which I don't have on my MacBook) to VGA. Help!!!

Here is exactly what both of my MacBooks say and in the post after yours, there are two pictures of DVIs, the top one being the original, bottom the Mini-DVI... BOTH of my MacBooks have the ORIGINAL larger DVIs....THAT is my problem, I cannot find an adapter that will take me from the ORIGINAL DVI to a Standard VGA.... Incidently, I bought both of these at different times, different places so would assume MY issue would not be isolated. Past the occasional need to have a larger display, I love these machines and really don't like being forced into buying different machines to satisify my viewing needs. Thanks for you time, attention and suggestions, they are ALL appreciated! - Doc57

  • Connectivity cable for 6131

    Hi,
Being new to the experience of having a phone that talks to my computer as well as to other people, I'd appreciate some advice please.
I've just bought a 6131 and am trying to connect to my PC (Windows 2000). I've downloaded the latest PC Suite version (6.84)today and everything goes well until I'm asked to connect the phone to the USB. My computer recognises that there is new hardware, but PC Suite can't see my phone and the installation stops there. When I check the connectivity menu on the phone itself, the USB option is greyed out. I've restarted both the PC and the phone with no luck.
I am connected to the computer USB directly (not a hub) I was sold a CA-42 connectivity cable as being compatible with my phone. I have searched for discussions about this on this site, but can only find mention of the CA-53 cable being used with the 6131. Have I been sold the wrong thing?

    Hi jeba
CA-53 is compatible cable for 6131 listed under Nokia accessories for your phone:

  • Does Mac Pro come with connecting cables for your add-on SATA drives?

I am buying some Western Digital OEM SATA drives to put in my Mac Pro that I just purchased and is being shipped to me. I realize that OEM drives do not have any connecting cables/hardware. I assume that Mac Pro does have the necessary connecting SATA cables and hardware to attach the drive to the sleds? Or do I have to purchase them separately?
    Thanks,
    John

Nobody does it better than Apple. For years I was always struggling with cables and hard disk setups and I knew as soon as larger hard drives were available I'd want to replace my 500Gig ones. Once the 750Gig came out I ordered four then found a quick hard drive install video that showed you how to pull out the tray, remove the old drive, insert the new drive and push the tray back in.
It was that easy. Mac machines are so cool.

  • HT201343 I need to get external connection cables for macbook air to imac - is this just a thunderbolt to standard usb?

My screen is busted and i need to backup information/ upgrade system to icloud drive.
To do this, i need to use an imac display - can i connect this with the standard thunderbolt to usb cable?
I do not have apple tv, and may not work since i cant see the screen on laptop.
    Thanks,

You need to connect the Thunderbolt cable to a Thunderbolt port or Mini DisplayPort to use Target Display mode; the iMac model also needs to support video in. Click here for more information.
You need to connect the Thunderbolt cable to a Thunderbolt or FireWire port to use Target Disk mode. When in this mode, the computer can be treated as an external drive.
If the connection involves USB at any point, it won't accomplish anything.

  • How can I connect my Mac laptop to display on my imac

I just bout an imac with a 27" display. I would like to use the display for my macbook air - how do I connect the two just to project the AIR on my imac.

If your MacBook Air has got a Thunderbolt port, just connect them using a Thunderbolt cable and put your iMac in target mode pressing Command and F2 buttons

  • Cable for macbook - cinema display

Hi -- Anyone know which adapter cable I need to connect a 20" Cinema Display to a circa 2007 Macbook (12", white plastic)? Many thanks!

You will need a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter

If it is the plastic 20" with ADC (Apple Display Connector)

you will also need a DVI to ADC adapter

  • I lost the connection cable for my ipod and comp.

can someone tell me how i could get another cable that connects my ipod to my computer? i lost mine and need to update my ipod, please help me.
    thank you

Also many wall chargers for iPods that have a USB port for charging will often come with a replacement iPod USB cable. So if you don't already have a wall charger, getting one of those will get you both a wall charger and the replacement cable you need.
An example of what I am talking about is the Griffin Powerblock...
    http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powerblock/
$30 but a very nicely made charger, comes with an additional sync cable, and the prongs fold up into the body so it travels nicely without stabbing everything in your bag. We have one that we use to charge our iPods AND my palm pilot & my wife's Blackberry too. So only one charger needs to be brought along on trips for a number of devices.

  • What are the audio connections/cable for the Express?

I'm thinking about getting an Airport Express to hook up to my stereo. What kind of cabling is required and are there cable alternatives (mini to phone, mini to RCA, to optical, etc.)? Thanks.

Depending on your stereo system, you will need different types of wires, if your stereo has an AUX input (Auxiliary) (Like the red and white plugins on TVs) You will need a Y Audio Cable, which basically has the headphone jack at one end, and the Red and White jacks at the other so all you will have to do is plug the headphone end into your airport express and plug the red/white into your Stereo. If your stereo doesn't have the AUX input, simple figure out what type of input it has and google or search an electric store for a cord that will work just right for you.

  • Replace DVI cable for 20in Cinema Display

Need to replace the DVI portion on the power/connector coming from the back of the display. It was ripped out when someone attempted to steal. Is this possible or do I have to buy another monitor?

Apple or an authorized repair center can fix it, but it may not be worth the cost.

  • My connection cable for ipad 2 is not charging for the second time in one month, my connection cable for ipad 2 is not charging for the second time in one month

i bought a new ipad 2 two months ago, after one month the new cable didn't work any more, can happen though?
But now after an other month the second one is gone too, anybody with the same problems?

unless you're really putting that cord under stress, it shouldn't go bad that quickly. It's possible that there could be issues with your iPad's port.
Did you buy that ipad new or used? If new and if it's still under factory warranty (might not be with a 2) then you can have the apple store check it out and make sure there are no issues with that port.
