Connection closed

Hi
I just installed Oracle 8i and Oracle Enterprise Manager on a NT server machine. I already had a Oracle 8.0.x version sitting on the machine.
The problem is that the enterprise manager can only connect to the old database, and when I tell him to try my new one (stonesrv:1521:db instead of stonesrv:1521:orcl) I get a message that says that the connection is closed.
Has anyone experienced that?

    I am not sure what exactly is happening here. I have already established the successful connection with the same FTP server using different FTP clients.

    sounds like the ftp server closed the connection. did you try to use other ftp clients from the same machine where the bpel engine is running?

  • Connection closed by remote host on SOAP Receiver Scenario

    Hi Experts,
    I implemented a RFC to SOAP Receiver scenario, consuming an external
    Web Service with SSL security, using SAP PI 7.1. I configured the SOAP
    Receiver Adapter with Proxy e Proxy User, and it shows the
    message u201CConnection closed by remote hostu201D. I have checked with
    Network team, about the firewall restrictions, and they told me it was
    pass by firewall. I installed the SOAP UI on the PI DEV Server to test
    the SOAP Requets and it worked. Only on the PI it shows this error
    message. I traced log at SLL service in the Sap Netweaver Administrator
    and I didnu2019t get success.
    Long text error:
    com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException:
    java.io.EOFException: Connection closed by remote
    Please, could you help me about this error?
    Fábio Ferri

    Hi Fabio,
    You need to set higher trace level in order to get more information in your trace file.
    If you think it is related to security then set logging level of components com.sap.aii.security.lib and com.sap.aii.af.security to DEBUG in Visual Admin's log configurator. Also set com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap and com.sap.aii.messaging to DEBUG level.
    And then try sending messages and see whether you have received more informaiton in trace file, but don't forget to revert back the change once you finish testing otherwise it will filled up your diskspace.
    Best regards,
    Pinkle

  • Connection closed by remote host for RNIF

    Hi All,
    Any one can help us. We are getting the following issue while customer trying to send the data to XI.
    https://XXXXX:YYYYY/MessagingSystem/receive/RNIFAdapter/RNIF received HTTP response "699". Error connecting to host XXXXX at port YYYYY . Connection closed by remote host.
    Scenario details:
    RNIF to Proxy scenario
    it is very very urgent.Please help
    Thanks,

    Was this issue resolved? Possibly a network issue but not too sure. Can you share more info?
    Are you able to hit the RNIF URL within your LAN?

  • SOAP: call failed: java.io.EOFException: Connection closed by remote host

    Hi folks,
    my friday crusher:
    We have a sync RFC-PI-SOAP scenario.
    All is working fine in Dev system.
    After moving into Test following error is displayed as the SOAP response message:
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
      <SAP:Category>XIAdapterFramework</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="MESSAGE">GENERAL</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1 />
      <SAP:P2 />
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
    <SAP:AdditionalText>com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.EOFException: Connection closed by remote host.</SAP:AdditionalText>
      <SAP:Stack />
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
    Also Channel Monitoring says:
    Message-Verarbeitung fehlgeschlagen. Grund: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.EOFException: Connection closed by remote host.
    Couldn´t find any hints in SDN and the web to this issue.
    Does anyone of you has made experiences with that problem?
    Maybe it´s a system parameter for time out SOAP connections....?
    Many thanks for your help
    -and-
    have a great weekend!
    Cheers
    André

    Very strange!
    But I have the solution:
    I have looked into channel monitoring / RWB again.
    There I saw, this PI is using two clusters on two application servers.
    Everytime the SOAP call is executed through the frist cluster, all was fine.
    But no SOAP call was successfully executed by the second cluster.
    Fortuity? No!
    The second cluster node / app server wasn´t registered for internet access in the used proxy server.
    So it wasn´t an PI issue.
    Now, all is fine & I´m happy!
    Thanks @all for helping!
    Cheers,
    André

  • TNS: connection closed error with SQL*net

    Hi all,
    I've got a new installation of Oracle 11.1.0.6.0 enterprise (Linux). It works fine with direct sqlplus connections but I'm having problems with SQL*net and JDBC thin client connections.
    The database is built correctly and works fine:

    but if I try to connect using SQL*net I get errors. I have my TNS listener configured and it starts without errors, reporting the database as a service, and tnsping is fine:

    This is a new instance of Oracle so there is no problem with listener.log being too large (as I've seen elsewhere). I've also tried increasing PROCESSES and SESSIONS in the initSID.ora file without any impact. The listener ports are open through the firewall (and disabling it temporarily makes no difference).
    Any suggestions?!
    Thanks, Matt

    This means nothing to me, but it could to someone else......

  • Openssh 3.18.1 on Solaris 8: sftp connection closed

    Hi, to setup a secure environment for file transfer, I have installed the following packages in my solaris 8.
    - openssh-3.8
    - openssl-0.9.7d-Solaris8-local
    - prngd-0.9.26-Solaris8-local

    I do not have any problem with SSH but I kept getting Connection Closed when I tried to sftp or scp into my Solaris 8. I have verified the user info is correct but have really no idea what is the problem. Following is the debug output from a windows client to my solaris 8:

  • SFTP MGET of large files fails - connection closed - problem with spool file

    I have a new SFTP job to get files from an FTP Server.  The files are large (80mg, 150mg).  I can get smaller files from the ftp site with no issue, but when attempting the larger files the job completes abnormally after 2 min 1 sec. each time.  I can see the file is created on our local file system with 0 bytes, then when the FTP job fails, the 0 byte file is deleted.
    Is there a limit to how large an ftp file can be in Tidal?  How long an ftp job can run?
    The error in the job audit is Problem with spool file for job XXXX_SFTPGet and an exit code of 127 (whatever that is).
    In the log, the error is that the connection was closed.  I have checked with the ftp host and their logs show that we are disconnecting unexpectedly also.

    I believe there is a limitation on FTP and what you are seeing is a timeout built into the 3rd party application that tidal uses (I feel like it was hardcoded and it would be a big deal to change but this was before Cisco purchased tidal)  there may have been a tagent.ini setting that tweaks that but I can't find any details.
    We wound up purchasing our own FTP software (ipswitch MOVEit Central & DMZ) because we also had the need to host as well as Get/Put to other FTP sites. It now does all our FTP and internal file delivery activity (we use it's api and call from tidal if we need to trigger inside a workflow)

  • NetConnection.Connect.Closed event not triggered in Vista FF3 when in fullscreen mode

    Hello Pals -
    I'm trying to handle the net connection drop and provide some kind of visual cue to user. For this I'm listening to NetConnection.Connect.Closed event and when its triggered, I take further steps. The events are triggered in Vista FF3(window mode)/IE7 but in Vista FF3 full screen mode, the event is not triggered. I forcefully disconnect the network cable to see the NetConnection.Connect.Closed event is triggered.
    I have following piece of code to listen to the event,
    nc = new NetConnection;
    nc.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, onStatus, false, 0, true);
    nc.connect();
    public function onStatus(event:NetStatusEvent):void {
    trace("Status " + event.info.level + " : " + event.info.code);
    The function onStatus should be called whenever there is a status change in net connection. The events are not triggered in Vista FF3 full screen mode. Please share your views/ideas about this here. Thanks in advance. Please let me know incase more information is required.

    The problem decribed as above was caused by a fragile and eventually broken soldered connection on the curcuit board. My local dealer replaced the curcuit board and everything works fine again.
    I still wonder how that happend. I did not try to bend my MacBook and it did not fall of my desk.
    Thanks for reading.

  • Idoc with status '03' and having "connection closed" status in SM58

    Dear all,
        We have came across cases where we send out 10 idcos to an external system..using TCP/IP RFC destination. Among these 10 idcos..some of them will remained status '03' and it can be seen at SM58 that these idcos were having the status 'connection closed'. And among these "stuck" idocs, some of them had already received at the target system but some were not. I understand that we can execute LUW at this SM58. But everytime i execute LUW, it will return me message "gateway fail / not found". In order to make this execution of LUW a success, i need to go to SM59, look for the TCP/IP RFC destination, do a test connection to it, then come back to the SM58 to execute the LUW. By doing this, only the IDOC can be sent out and received at the 3rd party system. Any idea what is going on and how should i prevent it? Any other method i can used to let it pass through other than executing it one by one in SM58? Thank you!
    Regards,
    Joan

    Hi Naren,
        Do you have any idea where can i check the RFC downtime in R/3 itself? considering that the basis team said that the connection is up 24/7. thank you.

  • Underlying Connection Closed

    Hi,
    Couple of web services have been defined in XI which are being accessed by the external system (Non-SAP) to communicate with XI and XI is communicating with the SAPCRM system via ABAP Proxies.
    In the last couple of weeks, when the webservices are being accessed, XI is sending across an error stating “Underlying Connection Closed”.
    This is happening mostly when the webservices are being accessed for the first time after a gap of some hours.
    After that, expected response is being sent back and no error is occurring.
    On using the transaction “sm21” to check the system logs, it has been seen that the message server is stopping and starting on its own.
    Could anyone please suggest as to how do I go about finding out the cause for this error in the XI system and also how to rectify it?
    Thanks,
    Ravi Kiran

  • Connection closed error when using binding

    Hi,
    I am running WLS 7.0.1.0 with TopLink 9.0.3 as the persistence layer for
    EJB1.1 beans with CMP. When I use bind parameters I get a connection
    closed exception the second time the query is invoked.
    This is the query I see on server console when it is invoked the first
    time. This query returns the expected results:
    [TopLink]: ServerSession(91035)--Connection(887977)--SELECT
    LAST_CHANGED_ID, ALIAS_NAME, REFERENCE_ID, ALIAS_TYPE,
    REFERENCE_QUAL_CODE, ALIAS_QUAL_CODE, TLINK_VERSION, LAST_CHANGED_DATE,
    DELETED_FLAG FROM GLOBAL_ALIAS WHERE (DELETED_FLAG =
    bind => [N]
    However, when I run the same query the second time I get the
    following error:
    [TopLink Error]: ServerSession(91035)--Connection(0)--null--EXCEPTION
    [TOPLINK-4002] (TopLink (WLS CMP) - 9.0.3.1 (Build 426)):

    been closed.
    INTERNAL EXCEPTION: java.sql.SQLException: Connection has already been

    Then when I execute the query again the third time I see the following

    Does WebLogic close its connection to the database pool after each
    transaction? Is there something that needs to be done on the database?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Anup.

    Hi. Our transaction coordinator does prevent any code from using a
    pool connection that was part of a transaction, after that transaction
    ends. Applications must obtain and use pool connections totally
    within or totally outside a UserTransaction, to prevent unintended
    or unclear interference of the transaction contents and/or locking.
    Joe Weinstein
    PS: Also post any followup to the ejb newsgroup, because this issue
    is more at the EJB level than JDBC.

  • TCP connection closed but a child process of SQL Server may be holding a duplicate of the connection's socket in SQL2008R2

    Hello,
    I do get the below SQL error in production environment intermittently:
    TCP connection closed but a child process of SQL Server may be holding a duplicate of the connection's socket.  Consider enabling the TcpAbortiveClose SQL Server registry setting and restarting SQL Server. If the problem persists, contact Technical
    Support.
    According to the post I search in MSDN, the above error is fixed in SQL2008R-CU6, but I have SQL2008R2-SP02 CU09 patch in production environment and the above error still occurred intermittently. I am running SQL2008R2 SP02 CU09 patch with Windows 2008R2-SP01.
    I would like to know if anyone has  the same error happened to their SQL environment after applied SQL2008R2-SP02 CU06 patch and later.
    Any suggestion would be helpful.
    Best regards,
